Recap
Susan telling Billy that if he really loves Anne then warding off Caitlin's advances should be easy (Susan's voice over footage of Caitlin trying to kiss Billy).
Paul springs Hannah as the Ramsay Street sign thief.
Paul getting caught replacing the Ramsay Street sign.
Number 24
Harry and Paul enter the house, and Madge is at the table. Paul insists that he was replacing the sign, but Harry isn't having any of it - until Madge points out that the signs were disappearing before Paul arrived. Madge believes Paul when he says he was putting it back; Paul says that he found the sign in a bush.
Harold apologises profusely, and decides to drive Paul to school so that Madge can rest alone. After he leaves, Madge experiences a dizzy spell.
Number 32
Billy arrives at Anne's house, back from Wangaratta; she's cross that he went to his mother's without saying goodbye to him. But then seeing him makes her forgive him all over again and she plants a kiss on his lips! Lance and Anne have to get off to school, so Billy lets her go.
The Surgery
Karl sees off a patient and puts her file on Sarah's desk without a word. He then asks how the afternoon is shaping up, and as he and Sarah share a look, Harry and Paul rush in with Madge, declaring that she's had another turn. Harold is too effusive, and Karl tells him and Paul to go to the waiting room. Karl tells Madge she can't tell him everything's fine, and she admits that she knows something's wrong.
The Hospital
Geoff sits by Ben's bed and tells him that he won a bronze medal when he was Ben's age, and hands him the medal, hoping it will make him wake up. Geoff says Ben deserves a gold medal if he can get through this. He also tells Ben that he wishes he could go back and do things differently in his life - especially where Ben is concerned.
Caitlin comes in, and Geoff says he was just making sure everything's okay for Ben for when he wakes up. He leaves Caitlin alone with her brother.
The Surgery
Karl calls Harold back in, but Paul has gone off to school. Harold has a lot of questions, but he's going on and on and on and on, and Madge tells her husband to let Karl do the diagnosis. Karl says he's recommending a series of tests, overnight, to see what's wrong. Harry demands to know what's really happening, but Karl reassures him - they know nothing til they get the test results.
Erinsborough High School
Anne and Lance are teasing Anne about forgiving Billy so soon for going to see his mother. Anne says that Billy is back in her good books, and unfortunately Caitlin overhears that Billy's back, and says that she'll pop in after school to ensure that Bill remembers his training. Anne looks unhappy about that.
The Hospital
Harry is fussing over Madge, and tells her how worried he is about her. She tries to put his mind at ease, and he's not really having any of it. Madge reminds him that she's the one who's ill, and she doesn't need to be putting his mind at rest; he needs him right now. She says that if there's anything wrong, then she's in the best place for it.
Erinsborough High School
Hannah races after Paul to see what happened this morning about the signs and being caught, but Paul has forgotten about it - he tells her about finding Madge ill. Paul tells her that he didn't dob on her about the sign. Hannah's pleased and they're both all coy, until they agree to play basketball together.
The Coffee Shop
Anne and Billy arrive, Anne asking what time training finishes - let's hope he doesn't get locked up again with Caitlin. Bill is very decisive that it won't be happening again. And Anne wants to know if Caitlin saw him get changed! They leave, and the camera pans to Lance and Amy at a table. Amy is trying to persuade Lance to try something which will help him with his dancing, help him find his rhythm - but she won't tell him what it is! He says that if he doesn't like it, then he won't do it!
The Surgery
Karl is telling Harold about Madge's tests, and says that a neuro-surgeon will be best qualified to interpret the results. The main test will be a CAT Scan, showing the brain, and will show up any problem. Harry asks what sorts of problems there could be, but Karl doesn't list them all - wait and see is a better policy.
Harry wants to know, though, and persists. Karl lists them. Thrombosis, embolism, a blockage, haemorrhage...or maybe a headache, a migraine. So it could be nothing at all. Harold seems more reassured.
The Swimming Pool
Billy and Caitlin are training, and Cait swims into Billy's lane, demanding that he swim with her on his back as it will make his training session better. Billy gets cross and finally pushes her away, telling her that he can't believe he nearly let her come between him and Anne. He tells her that she's only interested in herself, and she should get the message that he's not interested.
Number 32
Amy wants to teach Lance to dance through a video - an aerobics video, help him find a rhythm. Amy lunges to the video. Lance tries, too, but Anne comes in and wants to know what's going on. Anne makes fun of her brother, and Lance doesn't want to do this anymore! Or ballroom dancing! Amy persuades Lance to give it a go by saying she should have known this was too fast for him. She manages to convinces Anne, too...
There's a knock at the door and it's Billy. They kiss their way into the house, and Amy wishes that Lance would do that when he opens the door to her!
Number 24
Paul is concerned that Madge is really ill, and after his mum died, maybe this is the same thing. Harold tries to reassure Paul, but he's clearly worried himself, and says that they can pray together for her.
The Hospital
Ben still lies in bed, and Karl comes into see him. Sarah's there, moving his flowers around. Karl says he'll head home, and Caitlin comes in. Sarah tells Cait that she's getting a lift home with Karl, unless Caitlin would like her to stay? But Caitlin doesn't. Sarah and Karl leave, and Caitlin starts to tell Ben all about her day, how she's messed things up for everyone. She tells him to wake up - she needs him.
Number 28
Anne and Billy kiss their way into this house instead, still laughing at Lance and Amy doing aerobics. They plop onto the sofa, cuddling up, and kissing again, thrilled that they're alone as Karl's at work and Susan's in the country. But - surprise! Susan is home! She springs them on the sofa, saying that mothers know exactly when to come home and annoy their kids.
Karl and Sarah return home, laughing, until Karl sees Susan and runs to her, hugging her. Karl gives an awkward explanation of why Sarah's here - she's alone tonight, and Ben's in hospital...blah blah blah...
Susan tells Karl that she ran into Harry earlier, so Karl must have been busy. They get a bit kissy, but Karl doesn't look very into it...
The Hospital
Geoff appears, thinking that he might read to Ben for a while. Caitlin is glad that the hospital is trying everything, and leaves. Geoff wonders what Ben might want to hear him read, then admits that he should have been reading to him more than twenty years ago. He sits next to his son, holds his hand, and wishes he'd been there to see him grow up. Perhaps his punishment for running out on Ruth is that he never got to see him grow up. He hopes it isn't all too late, and Ben opens his eyes...
