Martin says they have a meeting in a few minutes and Libby should come.
Darren thinks that thinks her friends aren't any good, she says what she does and who she does it with has nothing to do with him.
Lance agrees to swap with Toadie, then realizes they used the wrong spray. Lance and Toadie get caught breaking in.
Ruth tells Anne she is supposed to be helping, Anne asks her to sign a form but tries to stop Ruth reading the form. Ruth realizes it is for life drawings and it is no big deal, and no wonder Anne was so embarrassed about it. Anne says she is not embarrassed about the classes but knew Ruth would get uptight about it, Ruth asks if Anne thinks she is a prude and the human body is a gorgeous thing and some of the greatest master pieces in the history of art have been nude studies. Anne jokes she is hoping to make extra money modelling for the class, which Ruth laughs at saying she is lucky the school has a progressive attitude towards art as it was different in her day. Anne jokes it was cave paintings.
Lance enters, Ruth asks why he is home early, he says he was sacked.
Libby is off out, Karl and Susan both try to get her to eat and remind her to do some studying, Libby says it was only a matter of time before the real Karl came back and does he remember saying there is more to life than lectures, lazing and grazing which Susan is shocked to hear and Karl denies saying.
Toadie runs though stinking making everyone complain. Karl asks what's the committee is organizing, Libby says a function which Karl says it just a pseudonym for party as Libby leaves.
Karl says he disapproves of Martin, Susan says he has never met Martin but Karl knows he is dodgy because every Martin he has ever met has been dodgy.
Toadie reappears looking for Lance, Karl asks why he is out of breath and he wants to talk about his test results, Toadie leaves to see Lance.
Karl is dejected no one is willing to listen to him, Susan says it is nothing new.
Ruth is shocked Lance would break in, he should have told the owner what he did. Lance defends himself saying it was Toadie and he would have been sacked it he had told his boss, Anne says which he did anyway. He says if they did not get caught they could have fixed it and got away, as Ruth asks where Jarrod is there is a load knocking.
Ruth wants to hear Toadie's story before they confer, Anne come back winging about the smell of Toadie. He explains that they went back to clean plants they accidentally sprayed and they were caught, Toadie hid in a manure bin. Ruth says that must be true and why did they not own up. Toadie asks her not to tell the Kennedys, she says she will decide in the morning.
Everyone is rushing in the morning, Ruth says she will explain to Mr Johnston what was really happening, Lance wants her not to as he would be embarrassed and he won't get his job back, but Ruth does not agree and shouts to clean the kitchen and not to forget to feed Bonnie as she leaves.
Anne laughs at the fact Ruth is going to defend her little baby boy and there is nothing he can do about it now.
Billy wants to know what really happened to Toadie, Toadie says he slipped and fell in a pile of manure.
Libby is just coming home, she says they are polluting the streets very early, they both want to know what see is doing out now. Libby asks if mum and dad are up, Billy says they think she is till asleep and have been tiptoeing about. She needs to sneak in the back as she is too tired for lectures, Billy says she is safe mum is doing washing and dad in the shower, she thanks them and leaves.
Toadie says it was evil but Billy replies not as evil as her telling Harold the school needed an umpire.
Karl is reassuring Marlene, as Libby arrives home. Both Karl and Susan are shocked she is just getting home, she says the meeting ran over and they all went out afterwards and she did not want to wake them. Karl says Libby cannot do a full days work with no sleep, she says there is nothing important on so is off to sleep. He says every day is important, she leaves annoyed.
Karl apologizes that he is late as he wanted to be there, she is just making space for her files, he says Marlene will be late as Louise is sick. Ruth wants a quiet day as Lance has been silly at work and she needs to go there at lunch time, Karl says she is not alone Libby has discovered the wonders of campus night life and is out every night, got home at 8AM. Ruth says life was easier when you could keep them entertained with a rattle, Karl agrees and goes to get some coffees.
Lance is angry his mum is going to fight his battle, Toadie says not to worry as Lance is already sacked. Karl tells Jarrod about his lunch time booking, he says he is fine but agrees to come as it will stop Karl calling his mother. Lance says Toadie does not want his mum interfering in his life, Toadie says to shut up and puts something in Lances mouth.
Martin knocks on the door loudly to wake Libby, she complains of needing more sleep. He says if she is still getting lectures there is plenty of room in the house with them, she will keep it in mind. He says they have a lot to do, as she agreed she would find a good price on Lighting and fixtures, but she can only think of Darren. He says they wont get any discounts off him if Darren knew Martin was involved. She thinks offering him work would be a good idea and they should ask together.
Toadie is telling a story from school, but Lance is more worried about his mum. He then says he did not say about the plants. Toadie agrees to stall Ruth at the surgery.
Jarrod meets Ruth, who says Marlene is at lunch but Karl wont be long, he says it is a nice day and must be good for business as good weather gets people out to play sports who injure themselves and need a physio . She has never thought of it like that and tries to go. Toadie asks if she has seen any good movies, she does not not have time. Toadie says time, there is not enough time to do the thinks you want to do and grabs to her wrist asking the time.
She bumps into Alistair O'Connor as she leaves, they are old school friends. He says they must get together and meet up, Karl calls Mr O'Connor in but as Ruth and Alistair are catching up Toadie goes in first.
Lance runs up to Mr Johnston and explains why they were breaking in, he was as the wrong chemical was sprayed yesterday and when he was sprung he forgot and we only just remembered about it. Mr Johnston says Lance keeps saying we and was it Toadie who put on the wrong spray and Lance was trying to fix it, Lance just wanted to fix it. Mr Johnston already knew about the damage and had reported him as a police car arrives.
Toadie wants to leave, Karl explains his blood results show high cholesterol and blood sugar for his age and Toadie needs to look to his diet as he could have his arteries turn to concrete or get diabetes. Toadie wants pills, but Karl says he needs to adopt a sensible diet which shocks Toadie but Karl says not too drastic but less fast food. Toadie says after the other night he is not eating pizza again, Karl says to eat more fruit and vegetables and less sweets and doughnuts. Toadie says without doughnuts he might as well be dead.
Libby and Martin go up to Darren, they had a small job he may be interested in, Darren says no job to big or small, do they want a quote. Libby says they know he wouldn't rip them off, Martin says the banner needs to go up today and Libby adds there will be a whole load of committee members to help. Darren agrees to help them.
A police car drives away as Ruth arrives. Lance greets Ruth, who wants to know about the police car but Mr Johnston decided not to press charges. Lance says it was all sorted out, Mr Johnston says he offered Lance his job back, Ruth says they sorted it all out without her so takes Lance back to school.
Susan asks what Karl is doing with the tape, she says he got another keep fit video and they have another 3 tapes when he felt guilty about the state of his health. He says not guilty, but she replies they have Country & Western thigh magic, low impact hop step and jump and the incredibly stupid one where you balance a rubber ball and catch in your thighs. He complains he came home for peace and quiet, and would the tape interest Toadie, she says no as it is housewives power work out, what is wrong with his cholesterol. He says Toadie needs to take care and was worried about being put on a lettuce and water diet. They both start to exercise, he says no one is home but she does not have that much time.
Darren thinks he can handle in, Libby agrees to help as it does not look too high.
Ruth arrives to see Alistair and apologizes she is late as she has had a lot of problems, with patients and kids. He asks about her kids, she replies what can you say about teenagers they drive her crazy but given the family breakup they are ok. He is divorced as well, a stock broker, has a daughter who coped well with the breakup, and adds Ruth is a career woman and a mother true to form as at school she was always rushing round doing 20 things at once. She says it was just an act, he always wanted to ask her out as he had a crush on. She says a lot of the rushing about was to impress him, and the things you find out 20 years to late. He says better late than never.
Libby and Darren both climb the ladder, he says it is a great view and Martin should come up. Libby calls chicken so Martin starts to shake the ladder so it falls and Libby is just caught by Darren.
