- Cheryl calls Dr Karl about her feet. He suggests she buys some sensible shoes(!)
- Danni makes Mal try on a white jacket and says he's going to be a trend- setter!
- Lou tells Cheryl that he's odds- on to be the next Mayor of Erinsborough.
- Bianca tells Sam that she wants to find her mother.
Lou, Cheryl, Brett and Danni are celebrating with some chocolates. Lou says he's not mayor yet, but the Starks are confident.
Lou asks Cheryl what she has planned for his birthday. She says he'll have to wait and see.
Bianca tells Marlene and Sam that she's never given anyone a present, as she's never had anyone to give one too. She tells Marlene that she's decided to look for her mother - her name is Claudia and she was born in Adelaide, but she doesn't know much else.
Brett comes in and invites them all to Lou's birthday picnic at Lassiter's Lake tomorrow. Marlene says she'll be too busy interviewing people from Second Chance to work in her shop, but Sam and Bianca will be able to go.
Karl is showing Libby, Brett and Susan some old photos of University. There's one of Karl playing his guitar and he says he hasn't had it out since they moved (LIBBY: Thank God!)
Mal is sketching a cartoon of them which they all think is good. Karl suggests a sing- a- long but they put him off(!), suggesting a family outing instead.
There's a knock at the door and Malcolm answers it to Danni. She invites him to Lou's birthday picnic tomorrow, but he says that the family is planing a family outing. Danni says that they all can come.
No.22, the following morning
Lou is opening his birthday cards and presents. Brett's present is a collection of all Lou's political speeches in one book. One of them is a "Mayor's Acceptance Speech" and Lou thinks they're jumping the gun a bit(!). He loves all his presents and tells them that he loves all of them, too. Aw.
Karl has got his guitar out and is practising it in the living room. Everyone else is getting ready to go on the family picnic, except Susan, who's off the Coffee Shop.
Marlene is interviews a man sent from Second Chances. On the way out, she hears him listening to the horse races on his radio. She asks if he had a conviction for gambling and he insists he hasn't. She decides to give him a go at the job.
Angie is hinting at Susan for a job in the Coffee Shop. She gets out her CV, but Susan is saved by the phone - a member of staff can't come in as she's got laryingitis (so not sure how she could speak on the phone!) Angie says that she'll fill in for her while Susan goes on her family outing. Susan looks doubtful.
Marlene is showing her new employee the ropes. He thanks her for giving him a chance to work in her shop. They chat about racing.
Cheryl, Brett, Danni, Sam and Bianca have set up a posh picnic for Lou - everything is decorated in flowers and ribbons, and there's loads of food. Lou drags Cheryl off and sits her down for a flute of champagne. Cheryl says she wants Lou's birthday to be as good as last year's.
Karl is playing the guitar and singing along. The Kennedy Kids mock him playfully. Susan comes in just as he's finishing and tells them it's time to go. They're all surprised to hear that Susan hired Angie Rebecchi.
Lou has really enjoyed his birthday, though there aren't exactly many guests(!) Just then, the Kennedys turn up. Danni drags Mal off.
Mal and Danni are trying to have a romantic coffee, but Angie keeps rabbiting on at them. When she finally departs, Danni suggests going back to Mal's place. He looks a bit worried, but agrees.
Karl is entertaining everyone with a guitar singalong. Everyone except Cheryl and Brett seem to be enjoying it(!)
Meanwhile, Dannie and Mal have reached No.28. Mal looks very nervous.
An egg and spoon race is in progress. Lou is having a whale of a time. This progresses on to other games. Cheryl gets cross when she's hit with an egg.
Mal is showing Danni some of his cartoons, but Danni is trying to get him be physical with her. Mal is clearly very nervous and hastily offers to make them some food(!)
Cheryl is cleaning egg off her shirt and Karl is apologising. Bianca playfully pushes Brett and he ends up in the lake. Karl shouts at a stray frisbee, then they suddenly realise that Danni and Mal are missing. Karl is not pleased.
Brica- brac Shop
Marlene introduces Sam to Andrew, her new assistant. Marlene has had a win on the races, thanks to a tip from Andrew. Sam looks a bit concerned. When Andrew has gone, Sam says he's not sure about Marlene employing a gambler, but she is unconcerned.
Danni tells Mal that she's "not hungry for food". She kisses him but he's very nervous and pulls away. Danni thinks that Mal isn't attracted to her anymore, but he says he is.
DANNI: Why won't you let me anywhere near you?!
MAL: I'm a virgin, alright?
Danni looks surprised.
