Recap
- Karl finding out that it was Bianca who gave Mal a bloody nose
- Father Michael telling Mark that the church needs to know he's going into it for the right reason.
- Lou telling Cheryl to choose her weapons!
No. 22
Cheryl stares at the padded weapons and then grins and shrugs at Lou that he wins. She takes a blue padded 'sword' and hits Lou with it, telling him that that's for having daughter secrets. Lou hits her back with an orange 'sword' and tells her that that's for being paranoid! Cheryl tells him that she was very hurt when he told Philip all of her secrets before he told her. Lou grins:
LOU: You have more armour than a pterodactyl!
Cheryl tells him that she can't trust him anymore; he's a conman and a schemer. Lou grins that she's a bully! They hit each other again, but move closer. Danni comes in as they then start kissing!
No. 24
Sam and Bianca are talking about work they've got on and Sam tells her that tomorrow afternoon he's got to meet with Father Michael about the Youth Centre. Bianca tells him that it's going to happen; she's got a good feeling. Mal comes in and Bianca looks away, in annoyance. He asks Sam if they can do some weights this evening for his training for Jog for Justice. Sam tells him that he'll see him at 8pm. Mal heads out. Bianca, still dark on him, tells Sam that if Mal tries it on with her again, she'll hit him in the nose again, but harder next time.
Ramsay Street
Mark is working on his car engine when Annalise goes to get the post from No. 24's mailbox. Mark calls over to offer his congratulations on getting a part in the play. Annalise joins him and asks if he knows that she's playing the disembodied head! She adds that she went for the part of the princess, but the Director gave it to herself. Mark smiles that he'll make a point of being there on opening night. Annalise heads off to learn her lines. Mark watches her go.
No. 24
The 'swords' have been put down and Cheryl and Lou are snuggling up on the couch, telling each other that they love each other! Danni comes downstairs and Cheryl smiles at her that she's got something special for her. She picks up a 'sword' and starts chasing Danni back up the stairs! Lou looks at his watch and heads out.
No. 28
Karl and Susan are sitting together, Susan exclaiming that pantomime is an art form. Karl retorts that it's an art form created by sick and evil people! Susan hands him her script and tells him not to prompt her. The front door opens and Mal comes in, listening to the rehearsal. He asks if it'll be going on very long, as the cricket's on TV. Susan, however, tells him that she has to learn her lines. Mal puts the TV on anyway, but Karl tells him that *he* paid for the set, so *he* controls it! He turns the set off again. Mal walks off to his room in annoyance. A car horn suddenly starts tooting outside.
No. 26
Cody emerges from her bedroom, muttering about the racket from the car horn. She looks out the window to see who's causing it.
Ramsay Street
Lou is standing in the road outside No. 26, next to an orange VW Beetle, wrapped in a giant pink ribbon! Cody runs out of No. 26 and Lou tells her that it's a present from her mum and dad: her very first car! Cody stares at it in astonishment! She then climbs in and beams that it's a beast!
No. 26
A short time later, Cody is asking Lou if it's all because she got into uni. Lou smiles that her parents were absolutely thrilled! Cody then comments that the car is just like the one Squirrel used to drive. Lou explains:
LOU: That's because it *is* the one Squirrel used to drive! She sold it to me before she moved to the country; said she didn't want the expense.
Cody smiles that she'll give her parents a ring!
Rear of the Bric-a-- Brac store
Sam is sweeping up when Mal comes in and comments that he's glad Bianca isn't around. He asks Sam what a bloke should be doing if he was interested. Sam tells him that Bianca's had a rough spin from guys. Mal asks him how *he* got under her guard so easily. Sam suggests that maybe it's because he never hit on her.
No. 24
Cheryl and Lou are folding sheets, but they laugh and start cuddling. Danni snaps suddenly that it's not fair: Brett is so good at doing elections and stuff and *her* brain just goes to *mush*. Cheryl suggests to her that she should work to her strengths: the unusual, that's what she's good at. Lou tells her to get a gimmick and a slogan; it works every time. Danni smiles thoughtfully.
Ramsay Street
Annalise is leaning on Cody's car as Cody washes it. Mark comes over and tells Cody that he'll give her a word of advice: don't let Annalise drive! He then says he's got to go and see Father Michael about the Youth Centre. Annalise comments that she's going as far as the coffee shop, so she might walk with him. They head off down the road. Danni runs up to Cody, panting, and Cody remarks with a laugh:
CODY: I don't believe it: the woman who said exercise equals death!
Danni tells her not to tell Brett; they've got a bet for Jog for Justice. Cody then points out her car and Danni remarks that it really stands out. She suddenly exclaims that she's got the best idea!
No. 24
Bianca is playing with the 'swords' and when Sam comes in she explains that Lou dropped them off. The two of them start hitting each other with them! Mal comes in through the front door and comments to Sam that he thought they might do some training. Sam, however, says he has kitchen cupboards to install - once he's dealt with Bianca! Mal walks back out, looking annoyed. Sam lifts Bianca over his shoulder, still hitting her with the weapon!
No. 26
Danni and Cody walk into No. 26, Danni asking Cody if she can have the car just for an hour. Cody, however, says she's too busy. Danni insists that she's an excellent driver.
Hungry Bite
Susan is going over her lines with Karl, but Karl seems to know them better than Susan! He kisses her goodbye and she thanks him for the consultation! Susan then turns to Annalise, who's behind the counter, and asks her how *her* lines are going. Annalise replies that she's getting there; she spent an hour last night making a box to rehearse in! She goes on that she's having fun; this is the best she's felt since the non- existent wedding. She adds that she thinks she and Mark might be able to be friends now.
Rear of the Bric-a-- Brac store
Mark is telling Father Michael that he thinks Sam is going to give him a sales pitch. Father Michael nods that he likes to be prepared. Mark then says there's something else; something a little private. He continues that he and Annalise keep bumping into each other and he thinks she's forgiven him. Father Michael replies that that's good. Mark, however, says he still *loves* the girl - but it has to be in a spiritual way; that's what's best for both of them. Father Michael tells him that celibacy is an important part of priesthood. Mark says:
MARK: I know. I just feel like I've got all this tenderness inside of me. I feel like I want to reach out and touch her face. I want to make love to her. It sort of comes over me. I want to get ordained as fast as possible, Father.
Father Michael, however, tells Mark that that's why he has to wait; being ordained won't stop the feelings he's talking about; he needs this year to think about his commitment; if he gets ordained, it has to be for *life*.
No. 22
Lou is making some sandwiches and he hands a plate's worth to Cheryl, telling her to get her fangs into those! There's suddenly a knock at the front door and Lou goes and answers it to Cody, who asks him if he knows where Danni is. She steps inside and explains that Danni begged her to borrow the car and said it would only be for an hour and that was three hours ago. Cheryl comments warily about the fact that Cody lent Danni her car in the *first* place... Cody mutters that she's really going to have a go at Danni about this.
Lassiter's Complex
Danni is walking across the bridge, using a megaphone to encourage students to vote for her. Annalise joins her and offers her a drink, but Danni declines. Annalise walks off again. Danni turns to Rupert Sprod and comments that she likes his cheerleading! Rupert asks what the ideas are that she keeps talking about. Danni, however, says no one's going to know; she's going to keep them guessing; Brett's such a logic Nazi that he won't know how to handle it! Karl suddenly storms over and demands to know what the infernal racket is. Danni explains that it's democracy in action. Karl asks her to do it somewhere else, as he's trying to run a surgery - and if it doesn't desist, he'll do something about it. He marches off again! Rupert suggests to Danni that they take a spin round to Packo's and set up out the front and give her a real razz. Danni tells him wearily that she's got to take Cody's car back. Rupert, however, insists that it'll only be for a couple of minutes. Danni gives in!
Rear of the Bric-a-- Brac store
Sam, Bianca, Mark and Father Michael are standing in the potential space for the Youth Centre and Sam asks Father Michael if he thinks it's a goer. Father Michael replies that the location is right and it dovetails exactly with their plans, but apart from that he can't make any promises. Mal comes in at that moment and says hello to everyone. He tells Sam that he thought they could pump some iron, but Sam tells him that he can't now; he's got more important things happening. Mal stands there looking annoyed as Sam turns back to Father Michael and starts talking to him about security for the place.
No. 28
A while later, Mal arrives home and sighs heavily. Susan asks him if he didn't find Sam. Mal retorts that he was busy. Susan asks if he was on his own. Mal demands to know what she means. Susan comments that he works with Bianca, doesn't he? She adds that she thought Mal *liked* her. Mal growls that he blew it and she hates him now; and maybe there's even something going on with Sam - she goes on like he's some kind of hero. Susan warns him not to jump to conclusions; just give it some time. Mal snaps that they can both do what they like; he couldn't care less.
No. 26
Cody is sitting on the lounge room floor, studying, when there's a knock at the front door. She goes and opens it to Danni, who apologises for being late, adding that time got away from her. Cody, however, snaps that she thought Danni might have been dead in some gutter... and thanks to her, she missed an important appointment at uni. Danni tries to say she's sorry. Cody, however, goes on furiously:
CODY: I've had enough of you. You're an irresponsible little brat who goes on like a five- year- old. Now get out.
She slams the door in an astonished Danni's face.
