Lauren tells Rick he can go off early to practice his acting with Helen.
Jacob and Ruth come in and give Lauren a box to put her tips in so that the "Lord will bless them". They also start putting up posters around the Coffee Shop advertising their meetings. Lauren isn't sure because Rick is still technically the boss, but she relents.
A policeman approaches Doug's truck and asks for his licence, then serves him a defect notice for the truck. Luckily, he doesn't open the back.
Rick is reading very badly from Othello and Helen starts to put him straight, telling him that he has to really understand the words to get the acting right. He takes this on board and tries again.
Lauren is trying to convert Ally's brother, Sean now. He's not impressed when she tells him that the Lord is asking him for a donation!
LAUREN: Are you happy?
SEAN: I was when I came in!
Craig and Debbie come in to work on their Science assignment. Craig begs Sean to do his paper round for him.
Doug is trucking along and getting quite tired. The truck slips on the road as he tries to keep himself alert.
Gaby is very worried about Doug - he still hasn't called. Lou is shocked to hear that Julie has been badgering him to repay his debt.
Lauren is trying to convert Craig now and tells him that he should "make time for the Lord"(!) She tells them that giving your soul to the Lord makes life hassle-free.
Lou comes in and looks at the tip box. Lauren tells him how much her heart is filled with joy.
Jacob and Ruth come in and try to convert Lou(!) He doesn't take too kindly to this, so Lauren shouts at him, demanding that he respects their faith.
Rick is doing much better with Othello now and Helen is impressed.
RICK: He knew his stuff, old Bill, didn't he?
Debbie and Craig are working on their Science project. Craig muses on why he wants to be an actor - sort of to escape his own life.
Phil comes in and seems to recognise Craig from somewhere.
Doug has finally arrived at his destination. The bloke there gives him his $1,000 and offers him a truck for a return trip to Erinsborough. But Doug says it's just not worth the worry and hassle - he'll get the bus home.
Phil, Debbie and Craig are chatting about school auditions. When Phil is in the kitchen, Craig tells Debbie that he likes Phil - he misses his own dad.
Lou invites Lauren out to dinner, but says pointedly that Jacob and Ruth aren't invited. Jacob and Ruth look a bit put out but excuse themselves, saying they frogive his rudeness.
LOU: Well don't be hasty, sweetheart, there could be more of it!
JACOB: Bye, Lauren. Remember, the Lord loves you.
Lauren has a right go at Lou but he's not having any of it.
LOU: They're mindless groupies, too gutless to find their own way in the world!
LAUREN: They are the Children of Barrabas. I am one too. We love one another. We do not give out hate the way you do.
LOU: I have never given you that.
LAUREN: But we are not insecure. What are you afraid of?
LOU: I'm afraid of losing you to them!
LAUREN: Well, you will if you keep ordering them out!
LOU: Lauren! I know you're old enough to decide what you want, but I want you to leave that group!
LOU: There's something not quite right there
LAUREN: The Barrabians serve the Lord. There is no higher goal that the spiritual one. Nothing you or anybody else can say will make me change my mind.
Later at the Coffee Shop
Lauren asks a customer to join her in a prayer. He is not impressed at her religious fervour, and neither is Phil who passes by.
LAUREN: I'm not apologising for doing the Lord's work!
Phil advises Lauren to tone down the religious overtones.
Inside the Coffee Shop
Rick moves the Barrabian tip tin to under the counter(!) Then Phil comes in and tells Rick that he'll have to do something about Lauren's preaching - she's turning customers away. He tells him to take down the Barrabian posters straightaway. And if he can't stop Lauren's preaching, he'll have to fire her.
Rick and Debbie take the posters down and Lauren takes great offence. Rick explains that the place isn't a church and she has no right to impose her views on people.
LAUREN: I don't want to work in a place where I can't spread the Word.
RICK: Yes, well that's like working two jobs at once, isn't it? It's a bit difficult.
LAUREN: I won't have it any other way!
RICK: Lauren, please just think long and hard about this? I've got no choice - it's up to you.
LAUREN: I have given my decision to the Lord.
RICK: Well, I'm sorry. I hate to do this. You're fired.
Lou comes round to see Helen and tells him about Lauren's weirdo friends.
Doug arrives back and gives Lou the $1,000, saying that he'll never do dodgy trucking ever again.
Outside the Waterhole
Jacob and Ruth come up to Lauren who is sitting there dejectedly.
RUTH: We heard.
(Er...how, exactly?! I don't think Rick would have rung them with an update on Lauren's job!!)
Lauren is upset, but Jacob and Ruth reckons that true believers have to suffer(!) - it's the Lord's way of testing you. They assure Lauren that they love her and they're her family now.
