Doug tells Gaby that he's got a job with a transport company - he's going to be a truckie! He's starting today. Gaby is suspicious because Doug doesn't know the name of the company or what they're carrying. But Doug is desperate to earn money so he can repay Lou for his loan.
GABY: Please, be careful.
DOUG: Hey - you're talking to the King of the Road!
Annalise is very upset that Jeffrey has cheated on her. Jeffrey has followed her to the pub and he reckons he's only sleeping with Lindy so they can get business from her company(!) Unsurprisingly, Annalise is not impressed but Jeffrey reckons that he never promised Annalise anything. He reckons they can carry on sleeping together anyway!
Ally is telling Debbie that she was really in love with Brad - he's the man of her dreams. Debbie isn't impressed and tells her to stop reading tacky teenage romances! She suggests Ally finds someone else.
Ally goes up to the counter and starts cracking on to Rick! Meanwhile Craig has come in and is making a nuisance of himself with Debbie. Rick is not pleased to see Craig and reckons he's going to get his revenge over the phantom order Craig did.
Annalise has popped round to see Beth, but only Mark is there. He invites her in for a chat over a coffee. Annalise tells Mark that Jeffrey has cheated on her with Lindy and now he wants Lindy for business and Annalise for pleasure! Mark is shocked but Annalise actually seems to be considering it because she really likes the job! Mark warns her not to let herself be used - that's what she was trying to get away from in the first place.
Doug is about to leave for his new trucking job which is an overnighter. Brad gives him some tapes of "trucking music"!
Helen pops round to see Pam to give her an invitation for the opening of the Art Exhibition. She explains to Gaby that Pam's painting will be featured in the exhibition! Helen is clearly stil having trouble with this turn of events.
Mark is massaging Annalise's feet and trying to shore up her confidence, telling her not to put up with sexual harrassment. He thinks Annalise should be with someone who treats her likes a princess. They kiss.
Dodgy Truck Depot
Doug comes into the depot and a dodgy-looking bloke tells him he has to get to Armadale by nightfall tomorrow, giving him a drop-off address. He warns Doug to keep his CB radio on in case they need to radio him an alternate route - his call-sign will be "The Big D" (!) The dodgy bloke won't tell him what's in the back of the truck, telling Doug he's just the driver.
No.30, the following morning
Mark is making Annalise breakfast (so I guess she stayed over then!) She tells Mark that last night was a mistake - he's still just a friend to her.
ANNALIESE: A really good friend, though.
MARK: Yeah, whatever.
He sits down dejectedly on the sofa.
Apparently Pam is chuffed about the art exhibition and Helen agrees to pick her up later. Helen is distracted and accidentally clips Phil's car.
Doug is a-trucking and singing along to one of Brad's tapes! (Even the deaf interpretation lady is getting excited and signing along to the words!)
Ally offers to come and help Rick in the Coffee Shop at lunch-time.
Wayne starts the class with some announcements, one of which is to announce auditions for the school play of "Othello". Craig is immediately convinced that he'll get it(!). Wayne assigns partners for a homework assignment and Debbie horrified to be put with Craig, saying he's hopeless.
Doug hears a message over his CB that the cops are looking for his truck and he should find an alternate route.
Wayne is giving out some titles for the assignments. Rick tells Debbie that he's going to audition for the lead in Othello just to spite Craig. Craig overhears and taunts him.
CRAIG: This is Shakespeare, Alessi. The Big S!
The Big D is looking at a map because he's got lost on a country road.
Annalise tells Jeffrey that she's not going to share him with Lindy, and more than that, she's giving in her month's notice.
Rick is reading from Othello and Ally is hanging off his every word. Helen comes in and explains the plot of Othello to Rick. Rick looks thoughtful and says that the love-story plot of Othello isn't unlike his and Debbie's situation(!) Helen agrees to help him understand the text.
Craig and Debbie come in. He keeps making excuses about why he can't work on their science assignment but Debbie isn't having any of it!
Security have come to escort Annalise from the premises.
JEFFREY: I don't want you hanging around for another month. You can go now. (to the guard) Check her things. I don't want her taking anything that doesn't belong to her.
Annalise is speechless!
Phil has popped round to ask Gaby to go to the office. But she can't leave the house because Doug hasn't called yet. She's worried that he might be in trouble.
Doug is trucking along and a police car is following him. He pulls up.
