Recap
Pam collapses from overwork.
Martins (No.32)
Phil and Julie are taking medicine for their colds. Julie is still upset over Phil's decision over the baby, but is masking it well. Phil tells her that he's really thought it through - even Hannah is nearly grown up and he's looking forward to having Julie all to himself for a change. Julie says a baby would be proof of their love and commitment - she's not always sure it's there. Phil says he'll have a baby if it will make her happy, but he still doesn't look too keen.
The Pub
Wayne has remembered that he knows Ally from Teaching College, but she denies it. Brad and Ally makes plans to go surfing tomorrow but Ally is evasive over where she lives and catches a taxi instead of letting Brad drive her home.
Willises
Doug has called a doctor - Pam has pneumonia and should be in hospital. She needs at least a week's complete bed-rest. The doctor insists that she mustn't go back to work - she must listen to her body. He really thinks she should be in hospital, but agrees reluctantly that she can stay home as long as Doug can give round-the-clock care and Pam does NO work.
No.24
Rick and Lou are having breakfast. Ruth and Jacob comes round and hug Lauren like she's an old friend, even though they only met in the last episode! They tell Lou how wonderful Lauren is and then they head off. Rick thinks they're a bit strange - no-one is THAT straight.
Martins (No.32)
Debbie is the only one of the Martin family who isn't ill. Julie asks Debbie to go to the milk bar for her, but she says she's doing something else. Julie isn't pleased and Phil tells Debbie just to do it. Debbie and Julie start arguing about school again which ends with Debbie storming out.
Willises
Doug has been up half the night looking after Pam. He explains to Brad what's happened and he's shocked. Doug blames himself for Pam being the only breadwinner. Brad gives Doug some money from his overtime work, saying they're a family and he wants to help out.
Pam staggers out of bed and says she needs to do the housework. Helen arrives to babysit Pam!
Coffee Shop
Rick and Debbie are having a chat - Rick thinks she should go back to school.
No.26
Julie asks Wayne to talk to Debbie about coming back to school. He agrees to try but can't guarantee anything.
Helen tells Julie that Pam has pneumonia and they chat about the situation with the baby. Julie says that Phil seems committed now, so things shouldn't take too long to get moving. Helen is surprised - she doesn't think Phil is totally in agreement. She doesn't think Phil and Julie should risk undermining their marriage again.
A Barbecue
Ruth and Jacob introduce Lauren to some of their friends. They are very friendly and they tell Lauren that they all believe in "Peace, Harmony and Contentment". They want Lauren to feel the same. They all have a game of frisbee.
No.24
Lou is back from losing at tennis to Wayne. Doug has been for an interview, but he didn't get it. He's at his wit's end - Pam's ill and it's his fault. Lou offers Doug a loan of $1,000, but he says what he needs is a job. But then he changes his mind and says he'll take the loan - as long as Lou doesn't tell Pam. Lou wonders how Doug will cover where the money came from - won't Pam guess?
Coffee Shop
Beth has been sacked from her vacuum cleaner job. Wayne and Rick are quite pleased though - now she can try to find something decent.
Wayne sits at a table with Debbie and asks her what she's going to do with no training or skills. He tells her not to waste her future because she's scared of a bit of name-calling.
Outside the Coffee Shop
A couple of guys give Debbie a hard time about Darren. They start to push her, but she tells her that Darren brought everything on himself. The guys walk off.
Wayne and Beth congratulate Beth on the way she handled things, and tell her that she won't meet anything worse at school.
A Barbecue
Lauren is pouring out her heart to Ruth about her relationship with Brad. She is very sympathetic and tells her that she was on the wrong road too until she met Jacob. They sit down with the rest of the guys (about 12) and they tell Lauren that they normally say grace. Jacob thanks God for the beautiful day and welcome Lauren into their group. Lauren looks slightly uneasy.
Martins (No.32)
Phil is still ill and Julie is tending to him. She tells him that she's changed her mind about having another baby - they're perfectly happy the way they are.
Willises
Pam is restless on the sofa but Helen makes her lie down and take things easy. Pam is so worried about Doug not having a job - it's been weeks now.
Doug comes in with a bunch of flowers and lies to Pam that he got the job.
Coffee Shop
Rick is stoked because Debbie has decided to go back to school.
Brad and Ally come in and Rick is rather surprised to see her with Brad. Rick and Debbie recognise the girl as the little sister of someone they know - she's only 14!
