Madge is up early, but even so, Gemma has already left for work - her shift at the Animal Park starts at dawn. Madge is worried about the "efficiency spy" at Lassiter's.
HAROLD: If you had nothing to worry about, you'd welcome being assessed.
MADGE: Shut up, Harold!
Madge moans about Dorothy going cycling at the crack of dawn, and Harold gets an idea - he could take up cycling again.
MADGE: Harold, do you really think it's worth risking a heart-attack just to impress Toby(!)
He says he'll ask Helen if he can borrow Julie's bike(!)
Cycle Path
Dorothy and Jim are discussing the siege of the twins. Dorothy thinks they were silly to trust Phil. Jim thinks one could say the same about Colin and doesn't think Dorothy can be sure he's changed.
DOROTHY: Do my eyes deceive me, or is that a Bishop on a bicycle?!
Harold screeches to a halt and the brakes don't seem very good. Dorothy and Jim both laugh at him, but he says he'll give them a race. Jim and Dorothy win easily(!) Well, Harold is on a shopping bike with a flag in the back(!)

Glen and Lucy haven't slept very well and have no answers to their problem. Lucy says they'll just have avoid each other as much as possible.
GLEN: If only we weren't...
LUCY: But we are, and we can't change that. We'll have to change our feelings. If we concentrate on other things, this will pass.
GLEN: And if it doesn't?
LUCY: It has to.
Helen comes out and wants to know why they're looking so glum(!) Todd and Josh bustle in excitedly discussing the siege next door.
JOSH: It's amazing that something so bizarre can happen right under our noses without us suspecting a thing!
Lucy and Glen exchange looks.

Dorothy is off to work and Colin fawns over her. Yuk. He hints that he wants to borrow her car but Dorothy suggests that he buys one.
COLIN: It's very hard to get finance when you've got a criminal record.
DOROTHY: My poor darling, are the banks being mean to you?
COLIN: Yes.
DOROTHY: Good!
She finally relents and says she can borrow her car today.

Jim is off to a meeting in the city about the hotel. Helen and Melanie will fill in at Lassiter's before the twins and Paul return tomorrow. Lucy is still in a strop about her date and shouts at Paul for nagging her about it. Helen asks Glen to take the kids to school, but Todd and Josh would rather walk. That leaves just Lucy, but she says she'd rather walk too.
The Office
Rosemary comes in and surprises Helen. She hugs her and says she didn't know she was coming until 24 hours ago. Tracy is apparently back at school studying for a music exam. They're getting along fine now and Helen is pleased to hear it. Rosemary has been filled in on the siege story by Melanie. Rosemary has booked into the hotel as the Robinson house is a bit crowded. She's really surprised to hear that Helen's ankle still isn't healed. Helen has been to see another doctor who recommends an operation. Also, she has to have physiotherapy. Rosemary thinks Helen should see a lawyer - to get compensation from the hotel where she fell. Helen isn't convinced, but Rosemary says the people responsible should foot the bill for the surgery.
Waterhole
Glen is distracted and Madge tells him to perk up because the efficiency expert could be anywhere. A geeky-looking bloke comes in and Madge thinks it must be the efficiency expert. Glen isn't convinced and says Madge has though nearly every customer this morning was the efficiency expert(!)
Rosemary comes in and Madge tells her quietly that they're being spied on. She rushes off to tend to the potential spies.
The Office
Jim comes in and is pleased to hear that Rosemary is in town. Helen asks Jim if he's noticed tension between Glen and Lucy - she's a bit worried about them. Jim has been to his meeting and Colin Burke's name came up. His friend told him that Colin had been in jail. Helen tells him she already knew and Jim is very shocked.
JIM:(angrily) The guy's a thief!
HELEN: Who's paid his debt to society!
JIM: Sure, but he's handling large amounts of other people's money again! The Church Committee has a right to know about his record!
Jim doesn't agree - Colin should have 'fessed up to Reverend Richards in his opinion.
Waterhole
Glen and Madge are telling Rosemary how under-staffed they are, and how Paul has threatened to sack anyone who doesn't impress the efficiency expert!
Colin comes in and Madge introduces him to Rosemary. He wishes her a good stay in Erinsborough.
Coffee Shop
Jim is telling Harold about Colin's criminal record - Harold is very shocked indeed and is horrified to hear that Colin was struck off the register of chartered accountants.
HAROLD:(sitting down) Good grief. He has complete control of the Church funds. I mean, he could withdraw the lot at any second and do a midnight flit to the Bahamas!
JIM: Now, don't get carried away, Harold!
Jim says Colin won't necessarily re-offend - he could have turned over a new leaf. But then...maybe he hasn't. And he and Harold both had his fingers burned with Rob Lewis. He suggests Harold takes some small precautions - like telling the Church Committee.

Todd won't tell Josh what his surprise birthday present for Cody is. Jim ropes them in to help him to clean out his garage so he can work on his fuel injection system. Josh offers to help him with the computerised bit. Helen asks Lucy to take in Glen's sandwich to him in his room and she completely over-reacts. Helen and Jim are surprised.
Waterhole
Madge and Harold are discussing Colin's criminal record. Harold is almost beside himself - everyone in the Committee will turn against him if the money goes missing. Harold says he'll ring the bank to check that the account is in order. He does so from the payphone.

Jim wants to have a word with both Lucy and Glen. He tells them that he feels tension between them. He wants them to tell him what, but they are both silent.
JIM: I know that problems arise when people live so closely together. Relationships aren't always what they should be, feelings get out of hand. I think you both know what I'm talking about. I also know that it's very difficult for you two to have a normal brother/sister relationship when you weren't brought up as brother and sister. What I'm trying to say is...have you two had a big argument, or do you basically hate the sight of each other?
Lucy and Glen sigh in relief and laugh, saying they haven't - they get on great. Jim is surprised, but Lucy says they've just been a bit tetchy lately. They agree to do their best to get on better from now on.

Harold comes around in a terrible state, looking for Colin. Dorothy tells him that Colin is late home.
DOROTHY: Harold, you look dreadful, what on earth's the matter?
HAROLD: Dorothy...I know about Colin's criminal record.
DOROTHY: I don't see how that should concern you.
HAROLD: It concerns me greatly, because as our accountant, he has complete control over the Church's funds. And the bank has just informed me that the cash is gone, and so, it would seem, is Colin!
