Ramsay Street
Cody is still tearfully watching Jim's car pull away with Todd inside. Doug comes up and comforts Cody.
CODY: What am I going to do? We always did everything together, I don't want to be on my own again!
She cries on Doug's shoulder. Doug suddenly tells Cody that she feels feverish and a day off school is in order(!) He decides to take her to the beach for the day. What a great dad.
The Office
Adam comes in looking for Caroline. He wants to know what time he should pick her up for dinner tonight. When Caroline gets off the phone, she tells Adam she's worried about Christina finding out and being funny about it. They agree to meet at Lassiter's at 7pm. Adam asks if they can use Caroline's car because his is unreliable - but unfortunately Caroline's is being serviced.
Mangels
Kerry and Amber are chatting about Eric - the last time they saw him was three years ago. Joe rolls his eyes. Amber says that their gang all thought Kerry and Eric were made for each other, but Kerry says they grew apart when Sky was on the way. Joe rolls his eyes even more and Kerry looks a bit amused. Joe admits he doesn't like the Eric talk. He's worried that Eric might want Sky back, but Kerry reassures him that he doesn't have any claim. She would grant Eric access though, if he wanted it.
Coffee Shop
Christina tells Caroline, Melanie, Paul and Eddie that she's had a copy of the tape of her advertisement done. Paul suggests inviting a few people around tonight for a premiere, and he'll cook Spanish food. Caroline tells them she's busy and Paul nearly gives the game away about Adam.
Later that evening - Lassiter's
Adam and Caroline are heading off on their date in Adam's heap of a car. They are going for dinner, and then dancing. He goes to open the door for her, and Caroline is initially impressed, but it turns out it's because the driver's door doesn't work(!) Suddenly Caroline's seat collapses and she is laid out on her back!
CAROLINE: I'm sure that comes in handy sometimes.
ADAM: I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about!
Blimey - bit risque for Neighbours!
Paul's
Christina, Melanie, Des, Eddie and Paul have gathered to watch the tape of Christina's advert. Unfortunately, only Christina's gloved hands are seen in the advert, washing dishes! There is a bit of a silence when it's finished and Des and Eddie try not to laugh.
CHRISTINA: I saw the rough version, I was in it. I didn't think I looked that bad.
MELANIE: Anyone could have done that commercial! All they needed to do was fit the rubber gloves!
Christina looks upset as they all laugh about the video.
Mangels
Kerry and Amber are doing Sky's hair and talking about Eric again. Kerry wants Sky to look nice for Eric - he's never seen her before. Toby asks if Erica will like Sky so much he'll take her home with him. Kerry tells them that Eric has no claim on Sky - even if he did want to take her away. Amber starts raving about Eric's wild dress sense, long hair and how he never wore shoes.
JOE: Sounds like he's stuck in the sixties!
Just then, Eric knocks on the door. He's wearing a conservative suit, a short haircut and sensible shoes!
KERRY:(gobsmacked) Eric? Is that you?
ERIC: What's the matter, Kerry? Don't you recognise me?
Adam's car
Adam can't start the car to take him and Caroline on their date. He suspects she's out of petrol - the gauge is broken. He decides to go and look for a phone. He puts the "aerial" on the car so that Caroline can listen to the radio while he's gone (it's a coathanger!)
ADAM: Now, don't talk to any strangers. I won't be long.
Paul's
Melanie thinks that Paul did get Christina's letter after all - she reckons he's got a dreamy look in his eyes and is being very nice to Christina. They all sit down to a Spanish-style dinner, but Melanie observes that it looks like rissole, sausages and chips(!)
Christina is upset that the boys are still teasing her about the commercial but then she forgets that when Paul lets slip that Caroline is out with Adam(!)
MELANIE: Caroline out with Adam? I thought you two had an agreement that he was off-limits?
Mangels
Eric has met Sky and seems to be getting on well with her. Apparently he runs a New Age shop chain with his wife these days, which are doing very well.
AMBER: I don't believe it! You're a capitalist!
ERIC: Well, a person can't bum round forever.
Amber looks a bit put-out and goes off to look at the dinner. Kerry is surprised that Eric is married - she never thought she'd see the day(!)
JOE: And kids...what about kids?
ERIC: No...we've only been married 18 months.
TOBY: Well, you can't have Sky, she's ours.
KERRY: Toby!
Eric laughs and says that he hasn't come to take Sky away - he just wanted to see her.
Adam's car
Caroline is listening to the radio which has an excellent reception considering the aerial is a coat-hanger(!) She jumps when Adam gets back. He's called the road-side assistance, and got them a pizza to "dine in" while they wait.
(Later)
Caroline and Adam are dancing on the roadside to the music of the radio, while the roadside assistance man sorts the car out(!)
ADAM: I told you I'd take you dancing after dinner!
Caroline says that the evenign it's a really nice change to fancy restaurants and loud discos. She kisses Adam. As roadside assistance drives away, they start to slow-dance.
Willises
Cody is moping round while Doug tries to cheer her up. She can't stop thinking about Todd. Doug suggests that she rings him up. Cody rings him immediately!
Mangels
Joe, Kerry and Amber are seeing Eric out - Joe has warmed to him considerably. He's very relieved about Eric, and surprised that he's no longer a hippy(!)
KERRY: He knows that you're the best Dad for Sky. And you know what? He's right.
Joe looks pleased.
Ramsay Street
Adam draws up in his car and Caroline thanks him for a great night. She can't invite him in for coffee though, because of Christina.
ADAM: I'd love to see you again, but I think Chrissie's going to have to find out sooner or later.
CAROLINE: You're right, but not tonight. Chrissie gets hurt so easily. And besides, I've had such a good time, I don't want to spoil anything.
ADAM: So, you had a good night?
CAROLINE: Absolutely.
They kiss.
CAROLINE: I don't suppose you've got coffee going at your place?
ADAM: Sure!
Paul's
Christina is depressed about the advert and Paul is trying to cheer her up by saying having her on screen would upstage the washing-up liquid! Christina accuses him of just being nice to her.
PAUL: Look, as a matter of fact, I happen to think that you are beautiful.
CHRISTINA: Give me a break!
PAUL: It's true and I don't just mean on the surface, either.
Christina looks pleased.
CHRISTINA: Well, they say being in love gives a person a kind of glow.
PAUL: Mmmm. And have you noticed how much I've been glowing since I've come back from Argentina?
CHRISTINA: Are you saying you're in love?
PAUL: It's amazing. When you know somebody is in love with you, and you feel exactly the same way about them. Just when it's...totally out of the blue.
CHRISTINA: Like a letter.
PAUL: Yeah, like a letter. Like a letter from Cupid, I'd say, just totally unexpected. Oh listen to me would you, I sound like a love-sick school kid.
Christina looks stoked.
CHRISTINA: I don't mind. But you've been back for a couple of days though, why didn't you tell me earlier how you were feeling?
PAUL: I wanted to be sure. I didn't want you thinking that I was behaving like a...I don't know.
CHRISTINA: A love-sick school boy?
PAUL: Yeah, exactly. But now that I know it's the real thing...can't contain it any longer.
CHRISTINA: Well, then, you don't have to!
PAUL: Good. Because Chris, I'm in love. Just when I thought it wasn't ever going to happen again, Isabella Lopez walked into my life.
CHRISTINA: If you only knew how...who?
PAUL: Isabella Lopez. She is without doubt the woman of my dreams!
Christina looks gutted.
