Paul and Gail's
Ian is reassuring Rob that he isn't in the game of ‘divide and conquer'. He respects the fact that Rob brought up Gail and the only reason he is in Erinsborough is to talk to her but this isn't good enough for Rob and he tells Ian that he has had the last twenty years to talk to her. Apparently Gail might not want to know him anyway as he is a ‘patronizing sport'. Gail comes with some coffee and asks if everything is alright. Ian replies that they were just discussing a few things. Gail tries to usher Rob to go but he makes it perfectly clear that he is staying put.
Mrs. Mangel answers the door to Madge who wants to get some of Harold's old videos back from her. Mrs. Mangel is not pleased that Madge has ‘barged in' and believes that Harold gave her the videos which include ‘greats' such as ‘Casablanca'. Madge argues her case and says that Mrs. Mangel is being ‘deliberately obstructive'. Madge attempts to be polite but only receives a big fat “No!” from Mrs. Mangel. Madge retaliates,“If that's the way you want it, then that is the way you'll have it. I have just began to fight!” Madge promptly leaves, much to Mrs. Mangel's disgust.
Paul and Gail's
Rob gives Gail a kiss, thanks her for the coffee and leaves. Ian says that he is doubtful he'll get along with Rob but Gail says that he is just nervous. Gail explains that she feels more comfortable with calling Rob ‘Dad' and Ian says that he doesn't mind and if it makes her feel more comfortable then he can call her Ian. It is his name after all. They both go to make some coffee and Gail hints that she'd like to see him again so Ian suggests that they both go horse riding tomorrow before she travels to the country for the wedding. Ian says unless Gail is wearing a wig then she is ‘in'. Whatever the hell that means.

Charlene tells her that Harold isn't there so Madge goes rushing in to find him. Rob walks in and asks Charlene about the work she is doing. They talk for a while about mechanics until Rob gets up to get a drink and mentioned that he ran into one of her friends earlier on – his name was Steve. Charlene looks just a tad worried at what Rob has said and cannot help but stare into space.
Mrs. Mangel and John Worthington are discussing the bowls game they just played. They both compliment each others playing and Mrs. Mangel invites him to have some date scones and afternoon tea. She thanks him for his patience in the committee meeting but John insists that he was thoroughly entertained. John tells Nell that she is perfect and ‘not too heard on the eye as well' prompting a high-pitched ‘Ohhh John' type response from Mrs. Mangel. John lets her know that he is really enjoying the time they spend together and Mrs. Mangel agrees as she rushes over to attend to the boiling kettle.
Paul puts the phone down as Rob comes in and Paul asks him what happened with Gail and what is bothering him. Rob hints that Gail may be giving him the brush off by Paul says that he is ‘selling Gail a bit short'. Paul says that Ian is probably having a hard time as well. Yet again, he carries on about how he brought her up, how in his heart he knows he is her true Dad and how he doesn't want to be ‘bulldozed' out of the way. Paul says that he is going to talk to Gail for him and tell her how he if feelings but Rob tells him not to as he fights his own battles.
Harold and Madge's
Madge is furthermore talking to Charlene about hr dispute with Mrs. Mangel saying that Harold only loaned her the videos. Madge notices that she hasn't made herself a lot of dinner so Madge offers to shout her something at the coffee shop then they can go and see a movie. Madge and Charlene laugh at the way Harold watches a movie and talks about it constantly if he likes it. Madge asks if she's sure she won't change her mind but Charlene wants some peace and quiet. Madge decides it's time for ‘round two' with Mrs. Mangel.
John and Mrs. Mangel are finishing their cups of tea when John tells her how delicious the date scones are. Politely, he offers to do the dishes and Mrs. Mangel shows him the way to the kitchen. Mrs. Mangel begins to bag the Ramsay name and says that her whole family is a disgrace. Madge is horrified and begins to retaliate only for John to interrupt asking for calm. Madge question's Nell's own ethics by calling her ‘Belle' (see 0744 for details) and rushes out the door, with video's in hand. John says that he wants to go but Mrs. Mangel tempts him to having another cup of tea. However, John is having none of it and says that he has known Madge for two years and always thought she was a nice lady. They begin to talk about a Japanese business deal that they have recently struck, which was all down to Gail apparently. Ian decides that he has to go but reminds Gail about horse riding which they have both been looking forward to all day. At the door way, Ian gives Gail a quick peck on the cheek. After he has gone, Gail tells Paul how great he is but Paul warns that she shouldn't get too excited as he lives in Tasmania. Paul thinks that Gail is already forgetting about Rob, leading Gail to quickly rush into the kitchen to do the dishes.
