Mrs Mangel has walked home from church with Des and Jamie. She is talking about Madge and Harold's engagement and thinks they are rushing into things. Des thinks it's great news and hopes their marriage works out for them. He talks about Daphne and how their wedding day was the happiest day of his life. Mrs Mangel tells him he and Daphne were something special.
Mike has been crying and Jane is comforting him. Mrs Mangel arrives home and tells Mike how nice it is to see him. She asks him to stay for lunch but he says he has to go home. Jane tells Mrs Mangel that she will skip lunch too – she has to see Tony.
Mike tells Des he and Jane have sorted everything out and that they'll be taking a drive to the coast this afternoon. Des says Mike deserves some time out.
Tony and Sally are exercising, although Tony is struggling to keep up! Jane joins them and asks Tony for a private word.
Scott is drawing a picture of Charlene. He won't let her see it and she chases him round the living room until she gets it from him. She doesn't find it very amusing and thinks she looks like ET. She challenges him to a fight but Scott warns her off saying Harold has been giving him karate lessons! They talk about Scott's job interview with Jim's company.
Tony is understanding and tells Jane he'll find another dance partner. Tony says she should watch Mike's possessive side, as it could get worse. Jane says Mike isn't like that and what happened was her fault because she neglected Mike in his hour of need. Mike arrives on his bike and he and Jane drive off leaving Tony alone.
Des is on the phone to Eileen. He is going to rent out her unit and she will move in with him when she gets out of hospital. He apologises for not telling her about Madge and Harold but tells her it's because Mrs Mangel wanted to be the one to deliver the gossip. Mike arrives home and Des says he is going back to work tomorrow. Mike asks if that means he's not going to the trial and Des says yes; the court can deal with the people who killed Daphne. Whatever happens won't bring her back. Mike says he wants to be there to see justice be served. He tells Des that Daphne meant so much to him. Des assures him that he is still part of their family.
Tony's depressed about Jane and Sally is fed up with his wallowing. She tells him there will be other girls. Tony is not convinced and says there was something magical with Jane.
Scott is ready for the interview and is about to leave when Charlene dashes out of the shower to wish him good luck. He rushes out as she tells him she loves him.
Ross is reading Scott's CV and is highly impressed. However he calls in Jim to discuss the finer points. They agree Scott will start work today.
Mike is leaving for the courthouse and Des doesn't want him to go. Mike wants to see it through for Daphne's sake and wants to see Summers and Regan put behind bars. Sally arrives and Des tells her he hasn't had a lot of sleep. He wants to take time off work but Sally says he can't, work will take his mind of things. Des leaves and Sally takes charge of Jamie.
Jim and Scott are leaving for lunch; Jim goes back inside to get his wallet whilst Scott stays outside. Jeff Garrett introduces himself to Scott – he has just been sacked by Ross and tells Scott that Ross is dodgy. He had been running secret errands for Ross and is sure he's paying bribe money to other companies. However he has no proof. Scott asks why he hasn't complained and says it's because no one would believe him, as far as he's concerned the whole company is crooked.
Scott is grilling Jim about the company and Ross. Jim is curious by his enthusiasm and Scott says it's because he doesn't want to end up like Jeff. Jim says he doesn't know what happened with Jeff as he always thought he was a nice lad.
Charlene is gushing about Scott and his new job; she's very proud of him. Tony doesn't really care as he's upset about Jane. Charlene tells him Mike is crazy about Jane and it's as simple as that. Charlene offers to be his new dance partner and cranks up the stereo to show him her moves. She stamps on his foot and he jumps around clutching it, Charlene thinks it's a dance move and copies him! Des arrives and Charlene appears to be guilty for having fun. Des tells her to put the music back on; she shouldn't be serious just because he's around.
Scott and Office are talking about marriage. Scott spots the dairy Jeff spoke about and when Ross leaves the room he flicks through it. Jeff comes back into the room and asks what is going on.
