Jane is asking Lucy what was so bad about the dinner. Lucy tells her it was the worse night of her whole life and says she doesn't want to talk about it. Jim arrives home and asks Lucy what is wrong. He asks what Paul has done that's so terrible. Lucy won't tell him and goes to bed.
Paul and Gail
Gail is interrogating Rob and asks him why he chose tonight to behave so badly. She tells him that thanks to him she and Paul have probably lost the Udigawa deal. Rob tells Gail that Jim is selling the garage. Gail tells Rob he should have told her, but Rob says he didn't want to worry her. Paul is furious and tells Rob there is no excuse for his behaviour. Gail tells Rob to go to bed and tells Paul she is going to bed too. Sadly he doesn't follow her!
Henry is about to start work, he has all his tools strapped to him and looks a bit like Worzel Gummidge! Jane comments that he needs a car and he promises soon he will have enough money to buy a car and pay back her Liquid Beauty money. Henry asks Jane if she will accompany him on a door knocking frenzy in order to drum up some business. She agrees and Henry tells her to dress appropriately I.e. like she's a mother of 10 children who won't eat tonight unless their father Henry gets a lawn mowing job!
Jim is still trying to get the truth from Lucy when Paul arrives. He asks her what is wrong with her and wants to know what he has done to upset her. Lucy says that she and Emma saw Paul kissing Crystal, she can't believe he has cheated on Gail. Paul gets himself out of the mess and tells Lucy that Crystal is a business woman who relies on affections to get her what she wants. He promises that Gail knows all about the other night and tells her to come and see Gail so she can tell her herself. Lucy goes to get ready and Jim asks Paul if he's telling the truth. Paul tells Jim that he loves Gail and is not about to start cheating on her.
Paul and Gail's
Paul tells Gail that Lucy saw him with Crystal. He says Lucy is coming over for some reassurance. Gail says she doesn't mind talking to Lucy but doesn't like lying. Paul says she doesn't have to lie and says she should tell Lucy the truth; Crystal means nothing to him. Gail asks if that's what he told Crystal but Paul tells her that's his business. Lucy arrives and Gail puts her mind at rest. Lucy says they don't act in love like Des and Daphne do; Paul assures her they do in private. Paul kisses Gail on the head and Lucy seems satisfied. Gail tells her to come back later for a flute recital and Lucy happily agrees. Rob comes downstairs.
Lucy arrives home and tells Jim and Jane about the misunderstanding. She tells them she is going to get her flute and practise so that Gail doesn't think she's tone deaf. Jane tells Jim that she wishes she had brothers and sisters. Jim says there will be plenty to go around tomorrow when Scott and Charlene return from their honeymoon. Jane asks Jim if Henry could mow his lawns for him. Jim agrees. Mrs Mangel arrives with some things for Jane. Jane is quite cold with her and gives her back her childhood doll. Jim tells Jane she may have been too hard on Mrs Mangel. Jane says Mrs Mangels niceness is all an act, and one she won't be falling for again.
Mrs Mangel is sitting alone with the doll. She says to herself that Jane doesn't care anymore.

Paul finishes a phone call with Mr Udigawa. They have lost the deal and Mr Udigawa is going back to Japan. Rob apologises and asks if there is anything he can do. Gail says there isn't and goes upstairs to make the beds. Paul tells Rob it's about time he took responsibility for his life and stopped making things bad for Gail.
Henry meets Jane for their publicity drive. Henry thinks she looks too nice! They pass Mrs Mangel who stops them and asks Henry if he would be free to mow her lawns. Henry is surprised by the offer and agrees to start on them as soon as possible.
Paul and Gail's
Gail tells Paul she knows how much the deal with Mr Udigawa meant to him. She says she is sorry that he lost it. Paul tells Gail it's not her fault. She says they got married because of Mr Udigawa and wonders what the state of play is now. Paul says there are a lot of advantages in the business world if they remain married, however if she wants out he won't stand in her way. Gail says she's happy with the way things are and Paul says it protects them from getting involved with anyone else. They agree to continue being married. Lucy arrives and they prepare to show her how happy they are.
Henry and Jane ask Rob if they can advertise Henrys business in the garage window. Rob hands Jane a letter and asks her to give it to Gail.
Paul and Gail's
Lucy is polishing off the sandwiches and has finished playing her scales to Paul and Gail. Lucy says she will go and practice to Bouncer and asks once more if Paul and Gail are in love, Gail assures her that they are. When Lucy leaves Paul thanks Gail for her help. He kisses her and as soon as he pulls away their eyes lock before they move towards each other and kiss again.....this time for real.
