Helen can't understand why Jim would want to buy the car. Gail is upset - she says the car is a deathtrap. Jim says there's no such thing as a curse. Helen asks Jim seriously not to do it, but Jim is adamant - he's buying the car and that's final.
Mrs Mangel is trying to get the tea tray off the table. She is very upset and embarrassed about the Reverend's hat and briefcase!
Charlene has finished detailing the car with Liquid Beauty. Rob is impressed and agrees to buy one carton. Gail comes up to talk to Rob. She tells Rob that she has to stop Jim buying the car, but Jim says that Meredith needs the money. Gail is irate - loads of people have died in the car. She says they can't let the same thing happen to Jim.
Henry comes in and says that Liquid Beauty is selling like hot cakes. Mrs Mangel tells him what's happened and says she's got a good mind to sue him(!) Charlene and Scott come in, excited about the sales they've had. Jane explains about Liquid Beauty turning into glue. They says it must have been a faulty bottle. Jane asks them what happens if they're all faulty?
Charlene, Scott, Jane and Henry are sitting down depressed. Jane's not sure that it was a faulty bottle - they'd better get all the bottles back and test them. But Charlene says they can't do that - their reputation will be ruined. She suggests going to check out the car that she detailed.
When Charlene and Scott have gone, Henry suggests to Jane that they test the stock they've got in Mrs Mangel's shed.
Garden of the Robinsons
Helen is cleaning the family trophies with Liquid Beauty. She tells Jim that it's a bit tactless to buy the car so soon after Jeremy's accident. She thinks he's throwing good money after bad. But Jim says the engine is practically perfect now. He says it's up to him, there's no silly superstition at work. Helen says that No.13 has become an obsession to anyone who got tangled up with it - and now Jim's getting obsessed too. Lucy asks Jim not to have anything to do with the car - she's heard the stories and doesn't want Jim to be hurt. Jim says it'll be fine.
The bodywork of the car that Charlene detailed is wrecked.
Madge is still looking for her missing diamond. Helen is helping her. Helen tells her about Charlene's Liquid Beauty scheme - apparently Madge didn't know.
Scott and Henry are depressed - they'll have to pay to fix Mrs Mangels furniture. Jane is trying to get through to the Liquid Beauty people, without success. Charlene is worried about how she can fix the car. Scott says they'd better get all the bottles of Liquid Beautyback as soon as they can.
Helen is showing Madge the Liquid Beauty and saying that it's very good. Madge can't understand how Charlene has had money to put into the scheme. Helen lets slip about the "insurance" money from Paul and Madge gets very annoyed with Charlene.
Scott rushes in and seizes the bottle of Liquid Beauty. He's worried to hear that Helen has used it on the trophies.

The trophies are looking in a sorry state. Jim is very upset and tells Scott that he's got some explaining to do.
Mrs Mangel is surprised to see Gail at work after the accident. Gail suggests that she offers her condolences to Jeremy's widow. She shows Mrs Mangel her engagement ring. Mrs Mangel says she hopes Gail isn't marrying Paul on the rebound - she had the impression that Gail had feelings for Jeremy.
Charlene is furious with the Liquid Beauty people - she says they'll get their money back from them. Henry thinks Liquid Beauty are shonky though - Jane still can't get through to them. Jane suggests that they go down to the Liquid Beauty office to find out what's going on. Scott tells Charlene that Madge is on the warpath - Madge has found out about the insurance money.

Jim is trying to get the Liquid Beauty off the trophies with nail varnish remover - he's tried everything else. Jim is cross with Scott and the others but Helen tells him that they're young and naive.

The Liquid Beauty people have shot through - the office is empty.
