Tess/Heath posh house
The downside of an 'afternoon delight' is that both Holly and Heath need to go back to work, him especially before Tess realises he's missing. Holly is curious to know if Tess thinks things are serious between them, but Heath's reply is that he is simply "Tess' play toy" whilst Holly is "the one I wanna to be with."
Ramsay Street
Keeping to her promise, Nicolette doesn't react negatively at all when she hears Kiri has been in contact with Sasha (church related) and even gives her full blessing for Kiri going to the last service at the church.
However once Kiri leaves, her true colours come when she talks to Aaron. Nicolette is fearful that even though she helped to try and save the church, she is now fearful that this "Christian hurdle" could be "the one that trips us up."
Number 22
Toadie is frustrated that the agent is sending him potential clients for the nursery site that he deems very unsuitable, especially as he is adamant it is to remain a nursery. Given the state it is in, Nell doesn't think anyone would want it and it's Hugo who pipes up to suggest they clean it up, rather than getting a company in. While grateful for the suggestion, Toadie tells the lad its "a pretty big job" but the others think that they should at least make a start in cleaning it up and somewhat reluctantly, he gives in.
While Toadie and Hugo head off to change into suitable clothing, Terese checks that Nell is "up for this" and she is, even if it is "a big job."
Lassiters managers office
While not wanting to overstep things with Holly, the Kennedys stop by to check on how things are with Krista given they hardly see the lass anymore at home. Krista assures them that she doesn't think Holly is "out partying anymore" but before they conversation can progress of course Holly arrives at the office with paperwork for Krista from housekeeping. Talk about awkward but everyone is civil and after Holly heads off, Krista promises to let the know if she spots anything that is worrying.
Leo can see that Krista is starting to become a bit stressed so has an idea on how to solve that…
Number 32 (garden)
… which is them skiving work to have their own 'afternoon delight' followed by a bit of pool time. Leo reassures Krista that Paul is being very loyal to her by not immediately following up Tess' plan. They try to figure out what it Tess is up to, as Krista laments the current situation is "an exercise in screwing me over."
Penthouse suite
Paul does an internet search on Tess and Heath and from his facial expression, he seems to like what he's discovered!
Lassiters hotel (Tess' room)
Tess is hopeful that the fact Paul has "always wanted the hotel to himself" along with the fact Reece "never thinks about Krista or me" will ensure the deal goes thought. Heath is curious if they can skim money off the deal and whilst Tess hadn't planned that, she thinks that is a good suggestion, which will allow them to be "set for life" from what they will make from Warrawee and their other investments.
Tess gets Heath's focus back on them [rather than the very suggestive text from Holly] and on that, she wants him to head to Warrawee to "make sure that nothing's left behind that would contradict our story of the business going sour." She rules out his suggestion of sending Justin as he's "not the sharpest tool in the shed." Given Heath's haste to get away, Tess thinks she's offended him and so apologises. He thinks that there are other ways to show him how sorry she is!!!
Church
While waiting outside the church, Kiri is very surprised to see Nicolette arrive. Nicolette explains that as part of her "wanting to do things differently this time" she is there to "show my support" and so the pair head inside.
Sonya's Nursery
Its Terese who is shocked by how awful the nursery looks. Nell is confident they'll "have it sorted in no time" and that they will, with the aid of a few RSR's (Karl, Susan, Andrew and Aaron) who answered Terese and Nell's SOS call.
Lassiters Park
Kiri and Nicolette are walking back from the church service and the pair seem to have had different experiences - Kiri loved it while Nicolette wasn't quite as enthralled! Given the "constructive criticism" being dished out by Nicolette, Kiri wants to know what's wrong. Nicolette admits she is "scared about history repeating" since she is "never gonna believe in God," which she knows is important for Kiri. While Kiri says that is okay, Nicolette wonders if that will change as time goes on? Acknowledging that they need to "learn from our mistakes and communicate," Kiri almost surprises Nicolette by asking her to sit down on the convenient bench to talk.
Lassiters hotel (Tess' room)
After another 'afternoon delight', Heath and Tess are forced to hastily finish dressing when there is a knock on the door. It's Holly delivering something to Tess but she can immediately tell the pair have been up to no good although Heath tries to detract her by commenting on her "bling" before she is dismissed by Tess.
Outside in the corridor, Holly looks almost shell- shocked at being 'used' by Heath and pauses to touch her 'pay off'.
Sonya's Nursery
Away from the others, Karl checks with Toadie that he's fine with everyone helping out and while the mouth said he was fine, the body language suggests otherwise!
As they tidy up a spot, Terese asks Nell how things are going with JJ and he reply is "good" and he's "been really supportive." Then after being asked, Nell admits to still liking him romantically but due to Dex, "it's complicated." Terese suggests the lass talks to her dad to uncomplicate things, but she doesn't think that is good idea… however he ends up overhearing her and isn't impressed at Terese knowing the truth!
Nell suddenly remembers she left something at home and scampers off, leaving Terese to try and explain things! She begins by acknowledging she was "put in a difficult position" as Nell asked her "to keep it a secret" and that she "wanted to respect that." Toadie gets his wife "did the right thing" and takes up Terese's suggestion of going after Nell.
Lassiters managers office
Paul relays to Krista and Leo what he found out online - Tess was promoted to Head of Asia- Pacific 3 months ago. The timing seems right with Krista but Paul doesn't seem to think its really a promotion given she was Conrad's second in command. Leo thinks they should call Reece to confirm but Paul and Krista seem very reluctant to do that now, they'd rather hang fire.
After Leo heads off to pick Abby up, Paul can tell that Krista is upset that Reece could be involved in the deal. Paul then has to reassure her that she's doing "brilliantly" and has "done an amazing job" despite the 'help' from Brett! Krista is curious to know why he is backing her rather than taking full control of the hotel again and his reply is that he has "realised what an asset" she is. Krista is very taken by his compliment and jokingly suggests he should "go to New York more often!"
PAUL: Krista, I'm not the man that I was when I left. I'm kinda looking at this as a whole new chapter.
Lassiters Park
Nicolette is fearful that Kiri will break up with her because she loves God more! "It's not mutually exclusive," Kiri tries to explain to her, "my faith is a part of me the same way that Isla and Aaron are a part of you." Nicolette could see Kiri was "gushing" over the pastor but Kiri doesn't want a repeat over the "Sasha situation" and promises to be open about them with her. That promise seems to pacify Nicolette, so peace and harmony is restored.
The Waterhole
Health and Holly finally run into each other - she is finding it "more challenging" to cope with "being non- exclusive" than she thought it would be. "I told you, it's not forever," he says to her, which Holly does get and as Heath is fearful Tess won't take it well if they are discovered, Holly doesn't plan on saying anything! "But if you keep acting weird, she's gonna know something's up," he warns and again, she gets that and knows she will "just need to avoid you two when you're together."
Number 22
Given Nell took off "dramatically," Toadie apologises to her for his reaction. "Don't worry about it," is her reply but he wants to, because he is her dad. However, Nell would prefer if they didn't fight about it - she knows that even if he says he won't, Nell reckons he will "get upset" every time JJ's name is mentioned. After taking a deep breath, Toadie promises that he will "try not to" and so Nell tells him that JJ was with her when she discovered the mess the nursery was in. "Was he," is Toadie's reply which Nell interprets as him being upset, but actually, he was "glad" she had a friend with her when she discovered how bad it was.
With the air somewhat cleared between them, Toadie is curious to know if she is hanging out with JJ, why Dex is being weird with her? When all she replies with is "erm" it then dawns on him that Dex likes her too. "Yeah," she sleepily replies with and admits that "it's been a bit awkward!"
NELL: So you're not upset?
TOADIE: I'm upset that you feel like you can't talk to me about this stuff. But that's… that's my doing, that's not on you at all, okay.
NELL: Yeah.
TOADIE: I'm glad you got Terese to talk to.
Nell is happy she has Terese too. Toadie does however ask, that while he gets she wants to "do your own thing with JJ," she might though consider everyone's feelings, by not rushing into anything. "Yeah," Nell replies back and the pair cement how better things are between them with a hug.
TOADIE: Oh, you're getting big aren't you?! Gee whiz!
Sonya's Nursery
Of course Rhett chooses to appear when Toadie isn't there so its Terese who deals with him. She wants to know what they are up against given he's finding it hard leasing the space as a nursery. Hoping not to speak out of turn, he is after her help to convince Toadie to let an alternative business occupy the space.
The Waterhole
As she goes to join Holly, Sadie spots the new necklace however Holly lies and says it was her mum who gave her it. Sadie doesn't believe her so Holly comes clean and says it from Heath. Holly confirms that she is still seeing him and that he likes her more than Tess because the necklace was given to her. She tries to reassure Sadie that an open relationship isn't new to her, but Sadie asks "is it open if one person doesn't know about it?!"
HOLLY: Don't be so judgey!
SADIE: He's a convicted corporate fraudster, who's sleeping with is boss and cheating on her with you.
(Holly scoffs)
SADIE: It's giving Eden vibes!
Holly dismisses that, adamant she is "completely in control" and Sadie gives her the heads up that Tess has just walked into the bar.
At the other side, Tess talks to Krista about the mystery shopper report - the feedback is apparently very good. Before they part, Krista thanks Tess for how she's been following Paul's return.
KRISTA: You could be throwing me under the bus, and you're not. I really appreciate it.
TESS: You're welcome.
Lassiters hotel
"Just the person I wanted to see," Tess says after she joins Paul in the lift. She passes on the good news - Lassiters has been identified as a potential asset to divest. Paul interprets this as her talking to Reece, but apparently the decision has been left to Tess to make. "Get your finances in order," she tells him "because when it happens it could happen quickly."
Sonya's Nursery
Toadie and Nell arrive back just as it appears Rhett/Terese have come up with a plan… well actually it's a "brainwave!" Terese's idea is for Eirini Rising to take over the lease to use it as a garden for the residents. Everyone thinks that is a great idea and are already making plans that is until Toadie interrupts to say a big fat "no!" He is having trouble trying to get out what it is he wants to say and in the end orders everyone to "get out!"
