We get a drifting bird's- eye view of the suburb as the 'Crimesborough' podcast theme tune plays! Holly is listening to it while having breakfast; Liv Bellen is interviewing Dr Bowman about the poisoning case.
LIV (voice): Gavin...
BOWMAN (voice): Yes, Liv...
LIV: How did you put the clues together to find the poison that has taken down two victims?
BOWMAN: Well, Liv (...) I've always been a logical thinker, and a close observer. And medical diagnosis is often about looking for the common thing, but also the uncommon thing.
Karl comes in, and catches Holly listening to the podcast - she tries to deny it, but...
LIV (voice): Part two of our interview with Dr Gavin Bowman will drop soon on Crimesborough.
Susan and Melanie, who are folding washing nearby, laugh at Holly's kooky detective- ness.
HOLLY: There's no harm in listening!
KARL: Evidence would suggest otherwise.
HOLLY: Okay, I'm just gonna remind you, I wasn't charged.
KARL: This time.
MELANIE: I didn't realise that doctors could give interviews about a case.
KARL: Mm, he would've had to get approval from the Varga- Murphys and the hospital.
Susan tells Karl that she found his old hospital pass in the wash; he says he keeps forgetting to take it back. Susan says she's going into the hospital later, so will take it for him.
KARL: And Holly - try and find a hobby that doesn't involve crime.
Holly looks annoyed.
Lassiter's Park
We join Aaron in the park for a vigorous exercise montage. He's just doing some sit- ups when Logan approaches in his jogging gear, and watches from a distance. Eventually he makes his presence known to Aaron.
AARON: I didn't realise you were a runner!
LOGAN: Well, you inspired me to walk last night and jog this morning.
AARON: Wow. I didn't realise the caravan park was so close.
LOGAN: Oh, I'm just getting to know the area. It's a beautiful part of the world!
AARON: Melanie said you're from Sydney?
LOGAN: Yeah. Don't hold that against me.
AARON: Whereabouts in Sydney?
LOGAN: Liverpool. It's in the south west.
AARON: Yeah, yeah, I knew that! ... I didn't really know that.
LOGAN: Yeah, not many people do. I was just about to do some laps. Care to join me?
AARON: Uh...
LOGAN: Come on, I've been exercising alone for months on the road. I'd really love the company.
AARON: Uh, yeah, sure. Why not?
They jog off together.

Susan tells Karl they need to get going for their meeting with Terese and Andrew at work. But Karl is busy scoping out what Dr Bowman is up to after listening to the podcast.
HOLLY: See, I told you it's addictive!
KARL: Turns out he's doing dozens of interviews - press interviews. The man's shameless.
Susan and Melanie look at Karl like he's a hypocrite, given his own love of publicity!
HOLLY: What else is he saying?
KARL: Well, he's doing a lot of humblebragging about his own genius. And apparently the hospital is giving him a commendation at the end of the week.
Susan remarks that Dr Bowman must enjoy being such a hero after what's been happening at the hospital.
HOLLY: What happened?
KARL: It's confidential.
HOLLY: Well, surely not if he's doing interviews about everything else?
But Karl isn't saying anything, and Susan reminds him that they need to leave. Holly looks curious.
Eirini Rising
Susan and Karl have convened with Terese and Andrew in the staff kitchen area. Andrew thinks that if schoolkids are responsible for the thefts, they're sure to out themselves soon by posting something incriminating on social media.
Terese wants to know what happens in the meantime; Karl points out that the thefts are affecting the residents' mental health, while Susan says that both Moira and Hilary are running on law- and- order platforms in the election for residents' representative.
Andrew suggests more security but Terese already has 24/7 patrols. She's also weighing up the pros and cons of fitting CCTV. At this point, Harold comes in, with more bad news.
HAROLD: According to my latest credit card statements, I purchased a pair of high- waisted jeans the other day. Now, I know my memory is not what it should be, but it isn't that bad. I've been robbed again.
Power Road
Aaron and Logan pause their run for a breather. Logan remarks that Aaron is in good shape, but Aaron says he's been through an unhealthy patch lately and he's only just started running again.
LOGAN: After you lost your partner?
AARON: ... Yes.
LOGAN: I can't even imagine what you've been through.
AARON: Yeah, well, other people have it worse than me. Besides, we have our daughter, so she keeps me focused.
This reminds Aaron that he needs to go and pick Isla up, but Logan doesn't seem ready to part yet, and suggests a race, where the loser will have to pay for coffees. Logan sets off running, giving Aaron little choice but to follow.
Harold's Apartment
JJ comes to see Harold, who's shortly on his way to attend Hilary's rally for residents' rep, where she is apparently bribing voters with Iced VoVos! JJ's heard about the fraud on Harold's credit card, and wanted to check how he's doing.
HAROLD: Oh, not great. People will think I've turned into some sort of fashionista! But I am upset about the tuba.
JJ: Oh. Well, you could get a brand new one - surely insurance would cover that.
HAROLD: Uhh, no. It was, what, early 1990s. And I had a real problem with my memory. But you know what? I never forgot how to play my music. That... that tuba... helped bring me back to Erinsborough. To my Madge.
Harold shows JJ a picture of him and Madge on their wedding day.
HAROLD: And no matter what happened in life, I could always play it. Even at my son's funeral.
He shows JJ another picture of Harold with his son David, playing music together.
HAROLD: So losing it is a bit like losing part of them, really.
Moved by Harold's story, JJ looks thoughtful...
The Waterhole
Holly strides purposefully into the pub and greets Liv Bellen, who's sitting at one of the tables. Liv looks peeved and slams her laptop shut on seeing Holly.
HOLLY: Hey, Liv! Wow, you look great!
LIV: How did you know where I was?
HOLLY: Cos you just posted a picture of yourself sitting here.
LIV: That wasn't an invitation to come and join me.
HOLLY: Look, I just wanted to fangirl a little and say how much I loved, loved, *loved* your chat with Dr Bowman. I mean, it was so compelling. I can't wait for part two.
LIV: Thank you. Now please go.
HOLLY: In fact, I was wondering if there was a chance that I could get a preview?
LIV: No!
HOLLY: Please? There's a chance that I could help you.
LIV: How?
HOLLY: There might be more to this than we realise. Dr Bowman could be behind it all.
LIV: Okay, if that's the case, then why did he come to me for an interview?
HOLLY: He approached you to be interviewed?
LIV: Yes. And also, we haven't finished recording part two. Now, please leave before I call the police.
Liv gets back to work on her laptop, and Holly leaves the pub looking thoughtful.
Erinsborough High School
Outside the school, Nell greets Dex and asks how his injured hand is doing. Dex says he still can't draw with it, and Nell asks to look. She takes Dex's hand and presses it, asking how it feels.
DEX: I can't feel anything.
NELL: And that?
DEX: Uh, amazing - I mean, nothing.
NELL: I can help you draw if you want.
DEX: Yeah, that'd be awesome. I mean... yeah, sure.
From a distance, JJ watches them dejectedly - but as Nell lets go of Dex's hand, she sees JJ. JJ looks forlorn. Nell makes an excuse to leave, telling Dex she'll see him later. Dex looks besotted as he watches Nell leave. JJ gathers his composure and rushes down the steps to talk to Dex.
JJ: I'm looking for Jasmine.
DEX: Why?
JJ: She and her mates are the ones who've been sneaking into Eirini Rising and stealing things.
DEX: Are you sure?
JJ: Yes. Yeah.
DEX: She's, like, Nell's best friend.
JJ: Uh, well, yeah, I'm not trying to involve Nell in this.
DEX: So what are you gonna do?
JJ: Get her to return everything, hopefully.
DEX: Why wouldn't you just tell Andrew?
JJ: No, no (...) If Jasmine and her mates hear the cops are onto them, they might bin everything they've stolen, and Harold might never get his tuba back. Plus, turning in people can blow up in your face. Look at Slade.
DEX: Yeah, and if Jasmine got busted, Nell would be really upset.
JJ: Yeah. Yeah, that's it.
Dex tells JJ that he thinks Jasmine is on the oval. JJ thanks him, and heads off to find her.
The Waterhole
At the bar, Melanie is on her laptop. She checks in with Wendy to see how her uni course is going. Wendy says she's headed to a lecture after her shift.
MELANIE: Is it fabulous being a student? All those toga parties, discussions on world cinema, and guys with floppy hair playing the guitar?
Wendy says it's not really like that, but it is fun. She asks Mel what she's doing - Mel explains she's house- hunting. Wendy tells Mel about the big rent increase that Byron and the rest of the houseshare gang has just been handed (which she's heard about via Sadie). Mel looks worried; she says she's hoping to offer six months' rent in advance.
WENDY: Wow. Isn't that illegal?
MELANIE: It's reality.
WENDY: And you have that kind of money?
MELANIE: Yeah. I banked a bit while I was on the road.
WENDY: Oh yeah, the road! Heard you picked up a stray man on the road.
Mel prepares to tell Wendy the story about how she met Logan.
Harold's Café
Aaron has won the race with Logan, and Logan jokingly demands a rematch. They appear already to have had their coffees, and Aaron is looking for his earbuds, which he put on the table, but now they're gone. Logan offers to help Aaron search, but Aaron says he needs to leave to pick up Isla. They shake hands, and Aaron thanks Logan for the company on the run.
Once Aaron's gone, Logan opens his hand to reveal that he's been holding the earbuds all along...
Harold's Apartment
Harold has good news for Karl, Susan and Terese, and emerges blowing his tuba and looking very happy!
SUSAN: Oh, you found it!
HAROLD: It found me! I came back from Hilary's meeting, and there it was!
JJ is listening unseen from behind the door, smiling as he hears how happy Harold is.
TERESE: Did anyone see who dropped it off?
HAROLD: Oh, I was hoping you could tell me that.
SUSAN: No. No idea!
KARL: Maybe it's a gift from Santa.
TERESE: If Santa had stolen it in the first place.
SUSAN: Well, it's nice that the thief had a crisis of conscience.
TERESE: It would've been nicer if they hadn't done it at all.
Harold confirms when Karl asks that he hasn't been refunded for the credit card fraud, and Terese says none of the other residents have had their possessions returned either.
TERESE: Harold, I'm really happy for you - I truly am. But that doesn't change the fact that we have a real crisis here. So I've made a decision. We need to postpone the programmes between the residents and the school until this is resolved.
Everyone looks disappointed, including JJ who is still listening in.
Erinsborough High School
Dex is bemused when Holly tracks him down at school to ask him something. He's keen to wait till after school but Holly insists it won't take long.
HOLLY: When you went to the hospital, Dr Bowman was your doctor, right?
DEX: Yeah, so...?
HOLLY: Well, did anything, like, kind of weird happen involving him?
DEX: Well, he was my doctor at first, but then something went down between him and Ma. And then I got a new doctor after that.
HOLLY: Well, what was it?
DEX: I feel bad saying anything. He saved my life.
HOLLY: Yeah, totally. Loyalty noted. And...?
DEX: I got the idea from the nurses that he wasn't very well liked.
HOLLY: Well, how come? Sexual harassment? Addiction to opioids?
DEX: I just heard there was some issue with HR. I really have to go now.
Dex walks off, and Holly looks thoughtful.
Eirini Rising
Harold comes into the office with his tuba to see Terese, Susan and Karl. He wants to talk to them about Terese's plan to postpone the student/resident programme between Erinsborough High and Eirini Rising.
HAROLD: I'd just like to emphasise how much I'm looking forward to engaging with those youngsters.
TERESE: Look, Harold, I appreciate that, but it doesn't change how the other residents feel.
HAROLD: Oh, the loud ones? Well, they'll always find something to complain about. But the others - and that is most of them - they're quite excited about it.
TERESE: Really, are you sure?
HAROLD: Oh, yes. I told them all about my experience, and what I learned living with some of them - young Tad and Paul. They kept me young. I want the other residents to have the same experience. So, look, whatever troubles you've had here, just remember the idea of this place. It's well worth fighting for.
TERESE: Thank you, Harold.
HAROLD: Oh, yes, and I've written a new piece of music. A composition called 'An Ode to Eirini Rising'.
He begins to play it on the tuba.
Erinsborough High School
JJ is carrying a load of bulky- looking bags outside the school, arriving on the scene just in time to see Nell and Dex having another 'how's your hand?' moment. Dex reports that his hand is still a bit sore, and Nell massages it for him.
NELL: Feeling any better?
DEX: Yeah, much.
JJ looks gutted. Nell goes back indoors to grab her bag so she and Dex can walk home together; and at this point, JJ approaches Dex - he explains that the stuff he's carrying are the Eirini Rising residents' possessions, which he's persuaded Jasmine to hand over to him, as well as the master key to the door between the school and the retirement village.
JJ explains that he called Jasmine's sister and warned her that the police were involved; and she in turn pressured Jasmine to hand over the goods. Now JJ's about to return the stolen items to the residents.
JJ: This way, no one gets hurt.
He rushes off to fulfil his task.

Logan calls round to meet up with Melanie, but before they do anything else, he explains he wants to go over to Aaron's place, as he's found his lost earbuds. Melanie says she can take them over later, but Logan seems very keen to do it himself now.
Eirini Rising
Susan is working while Holly has called in for a chat with Karl; she wants to know what poison it was that Dex ingested. Karl sighs.
HOLLY: What? It's healthier for me to be solving crimes than running around nightclubs with boys!
KARL: Those aren't your only two options in life, you know.
HOLLY: Okay, so the internet tells me that the key chemical is most commonly found in eyedrops. Is that right?
SUSAN: How can eyedrops be poisonous?
KARL: Don't encourage her, Susan!
SUSAN: I remember on an episode of Gluggen, someone was poisoned with eyedrops. Or it might've been on Hundur...
KARL: Okay, eyedrops typically aren't dangerous. But they can cause organ damage if they're ingested. Which is why the eyedrops you're referring to are generally administered under medical supervision.
SUSAN: Like in a hospital, say, if someone gets an eye injury.
KARL: Yeah, exactly.
HOLLY: Right. So these eyedrops are really only available in hospitals?
KARL: Or a clinic. Anywhere you find doctors and nurses.
Thanking Karl, Holly goes over and gives Susan a hug 'for backing me'. But while she's at the desk she surreptitiously takes Karl's old hospital pass that Susan had been planning to take in...

Aaron is grateful when Logan comes round with Melanie to drop off his earbuds. Logan suggests that Melanie go with Aaron into the bedrooms to say hi to Isla, but it appears to be a pretext so Logan can have a snoop around the living area. He gazes at framed photos on the shelf of David and Aaron, but at this point Aaron and Melanie return, having found that Isla was asleep. Logan quickly puts the photo he's holding down.
Aaron sets about making them all a coffee, while Logan glances back towards the photo shelf again.
Eirini Rising
JJ enters the courtyard with the bags full of possessions he's planning to return to the residents, but he's looking worried. He has a flashback to Nell massaging Dex's hand outside the school. Terese appears and greets JJ; she's looking for possible locations to install CCTV. Terese asks what JJ is doing here; he says he's bringing some donations to the residents from students who felt bad about the thefts.
Terese is pleased, and starts rifling in one of JJ's bags to see what's been donated, finding a trophy among the items inside. She then notices that JJ is holding the master key to the adjoining door with the school. Terese glares at him suspiciously, as JJ gets flustered...
Erinsborough Hospital
Holly arrives in reception, and soon spots Dr Bowman walking past, so pretends to look at something on the noticeboard so he doesn't notice her. Once he's out of sight, Holly heads to a room labelled 'hospital records', and uses Karl's old pass to open the electronic lock and let herself in.
Closing the door behind her, she begins searching a filing cabinet, and soon finds Dr Bowman's personnel file - in which she finds a written final warning from HR, threatening to terminate his employment unless his conduct towards other staff members improves. At this moment, Holly hears the lock beeping in the door behind her, signifying that someone else is about to enter the room...
