Ramsay Street/Lassiters Complex
As Cara takes the restored portrait of Paul to the complex and into The Waterhole, we hear a voiceover from Paul:

PAUL VOICEOVER: A villain carries many labels - friend, colleague, boss, neighbour. They're even a hero to some. Most villains want power and control. But what drives this desire? Is it nature or nurture? Maybe it's the perfect storm of both? But perfect or otherwise, storms have a tendency of leaving a path of destruction. The irony is a villain's biggest victim is often themself.

The Waterhole
Voiceover finished and Chelsea is thrilled at the work done to restore the portrait when Cara shows it off but Paul would rather it went into storage. Paul is so down that he is even reluctant to head over and talk to Isla when she spots her (and her mum) enter the bar. What does though put a smile on his face though, is Isla recognising her grandad in the portrait when Cara is taking it away (to be put in storage)… but that quickly dissipates after getting the evil eye from Nicolette as she picks Isla up!

Harolds café
With the conversation between herself and Toadie virtually non- existent, when he heads off to the toilet, Terese can't but help interject her thoughts to Byron, Holly and Mackenzie talk about how awful Chelsea is regarding the hotel. Terese is adamant the changes she is doing are “detrimental to the hotel” and asks if there “is there anything that can be done to protect Paul in case she goes too far?” Unfortunately it appears that nothing can be done given Paul gave her the power and Krista doesn't want to get her sister involved either.

TERESE: Well, it looks like you're stuck with Chelsea!

Number 24
Despite Aaron being back, Isla still isn't sleeping properly, not helped by the encounter with Paul's portrait and the wee toot now asking for her grandad! Aaron wonders if they should have a word with Remi to see if she has any other strategies they could try.

The Waterhole
Krista has out a book on baby names and on hearing some of her possibilities (Finn and Izzy) Leo can't but help put a face on! He politely explains it off as him knowing people with those names “who aren't very nice!” Tactfully, they move onto talking about the lie- in although Krista wants to check again with Aaron, fearful that he might go missing in action again.

As the pair talk, they get the impression someone is watching them and yip, from the other side of the bar someone is - Paul. He is still fearful about never having a relationship with his family, something Chelsea is determined not to let happen.

PAUL: You can't make that promise, nobody can.

Number 30
Aaron and Nicolette are explaining their woes about Isla to Remi (and Cara) when Chelsea appears. Cara quickly tries to tell her sister that its not a great time but actually she is there to see Aaron and Nicolette (Jane explained where they were). She gets straight to the point - asking if Paul can have a visit with Isla? “Absolutely not!” is the immediate reply and Chelsea tries to plead, explaining about how much Paul is hurting, but the pair of them are standing firm and reluctantly she about turns and heads out of the house.

NICOLETTE: Well, she is well and truly been sucked into Paul's orbit!
REMI: By her own design.

Aaron wants Chelsea away from Paul but Cara interjects to reassure him that “Chelsea can take care of herself” and doesn't really want to get involved either.

AARON: You guys haven't been here long enough to understand what this man is capable of. Someone needs to warn Chelsea what she's in for.

Harolds café
Toadie and Terese are about to go on a walk together until Melanie turns up and suddenly Terese is going to go walking alone!

When she joins Holly at her table, Melanie can't help but comment on how bad things appear between them. Holly points out to Melanie that Toadie can't look at her either.

MELANIE: Well I will leave him be!

Lassiters hotel foyer
Terese enters the hotel to go and see the plaque and discovers it is missing. She catches the passing Krista to ask where it is and in turn, she heads off to check where it is.

While Krista is away, having just entered the foyer (with Chelsea) Paul spots that something is up and asks Terese about it. Terese explains that the plaque is missing and in the background, Chelsea tries to control the smirk on her face! When of course Krista returns and explains it is missing, Chelsea (minus the smirk) tries to blame Krista! She rushes out of the hotel to speak to the tradie involved leaving a distressed Terese behind who can't believe what is happening!

Ramsay Street
As they walk home, Toadie and Mackenzie are chatting about work cases when she mentions the digging into Chelsea that she is doing for Terese. That is news to Toadie and he doesn't look too amused about it either!

As she walks down the driveway with Remi and Cara, Nicolette apologises on behalf of Aaron and his anger towards Paul. She is sure that Isla is picking up on the tension at home, but Remi isn't surprised at there being issues due to Isla “missing her daddy” and “clinging onto anyone that reminds her of him.” That theory resonates with Nicolette, as Paul is reminding Isla of David and agrees with Cara that seeing the wee toot's reaction to Paul's portrait was “hard to watch.”

Meanwhile, over at #28, Melanie is about to tackle the gardening when Toadie suddenly arrives. It looks like Toadie wants to be there but equally doesn't as he backs away then comes closer to her. Given his actions, Melanie can spot something is up and asks if she can help. Eventually Toadie replies that “Terese is shutting me out” and as soon as the words are said, goes to leave again but Melanie follows him and reassures him that she is “here for you.”

TOADIE: I don't know what Terese is thinking or what she's feeling. I don't know if I can… if I can fix this. Or even if I have to. She just won't talk to me.

Toadie scoffs at her reply of “that's not fair” given “Terese doesn't seem to care about that” because the only thing she cares about “is Paul.” Melanie hates seeing him hurt like this and wishes she “could take that away.”

TOADIE: I wish you could too.

At this point, the pair are slowly gravitating towards each other but given they are on the front lawn of #28, and in full public view, Toadie backs away to go and find Terese.

The Waterhole
Toadie looks angry as hell when he enters the bar and spots Paul with his arm around Terese!!! When he gets to the table, he can see something is wrong and she explains about the plaque going missing and Paul fills in the gap over how it disappeared. Toadie's suggestion of getting a replacement is rejected as a new one “wouldn't be the same,” which he does get.

They are then joined by Krista and Byron and she reports that the tradie doesn't have the plaque and suspects it is with the rubbish in a tip. “I'm really sorry,” Krista sincerely says to the very despondent Terese.

Penthouse suite
It's Paul's mission to track down the plaque beginning with getting hold of the contact details from Cara of every contractor working that day in the hotel.

His day is made though when the lift pings and Isla comes rushing out.

NICOLETTE: Someone wanted to say hi.

Lassiters managers office
Chelsea is surprised to see Aaron drop by to visit her, but he isn't there for a friendly chat, rather he is there to warn her about Paul! He tells her about Paul setting fire to the complex and killing Gus only for his brother to then get revenge years later by murdering Paul's niece, Kate.

AARON: It's dangerous when you're a part of this guy's world. And don't expect this man to be faithful to you either.
CHELSEA: From what I know, he never cheated on Terese.
AARON: No, but he did on another ex- wife though, Lyn Scully. Like poor Lyn found out about it just after their wedding.

Chelsea tries to defend Paul by commenting that “there are two sides to every story” but Aaron is adamant “the man is destructive!” To reinforce his claims, he tells her about sleeping with Terese while she was engage and that all of Paul's ex's tried to warn her that marrying him “would ruin her life” and of course, “they were right.”

AARON: But you know what the worst one is for me, is when Paul paid Nicolette a million dollars to give up her baby. Ask yourself, what kind of a sick person would do that?!

Number 22
Toadie is explaining his rationale to Terese for why she should get a replacement plaque so she turns it around and asks how he'd feel “if someone replaced Sonya's mural?” He now gets it, but adds that he'd also be “open to finding somewhere new to remember her” and so suggests that Josh's memorial could be somewhere else? After a period of stunned silence, Terese's interprets this as “away from Paul?”

TERESE: The hotel is where Josh and Doug died. It's… this isn't about Paul. It's about my son!

Lassiters managers office
Having listened to what Aaron has said, Chelsea is now trying desperately to get rid of him! Aaron isn't budging though and digs up more of the things Paul has done to people, to get and get it through that he “is a toxic person” and “there is no line that this man will not cross” as well as driving “good people to do bad things.”

Despite all she has heard, Chelsea isn't listening as she thinks Aaron is “a good storyteller” as well as using “some creative license” to embellish what he said.

AARON: Okay, fine, if you don't believe me, why don't we go to Paul and we can ask him what's true and what isn't?!

Penthouse suite
After watching Paul and Isla play with one another, Nicolette remarks that it's the happiest the wee toot has been since David died. The feeling is very much reciprocated by Paul and he has a huge smile on his face to back that up.

NICOLETTE: Just so we're clear, I'm not doing this for you.

Their chat is interrupted by the ping of the lift bell - it is Aaron and Chelsea. Aaron can't believe that Nicolette has taken Isla to see Paul and doesn't give her a chance to explain either before starting to rant off!

AARON: It doesn't seem to matter who you hurt or what damage you cause, you still get what you want every single time!

Nicolette is quick to step in and say it was her idea to visit, but he isn't listening to her, instead accusing Paul of betraying “so many people.”

AARON: You have cost so many lives and yet, WE JUST LET IT HAPPEN OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!

Aaron yelling that last bit out has frightened Isla and she runs to her mum, which causes Nicolette to then tell him that's enough.

However Aaron would have been as well to have saved is breath as what he's said has made no difference to Chelsea, she walks towards Paul and puts her hand in his - something Aaron cannot believe.

Number 24
Jane is hoping some warm milk will settle Isla down as the wee toot again starts calling out for David. Doing this also gets her away from Aaron v Nicolette over taking Isla behind everyone's back to see Paul and what is best for her. Eventually its Nicolette who ‘wins' when she warns Aaron that if he can't accept Isla seeing Paul (because she misses him as much as David) it is the bairn who will “be the one that suffers.”

The Waterhole
Melanie and Holly spot the very downbeat Terese sitting picking at her food when they come into the bar. Holly explains to her about the plaque going missing and they suddenly decide to go to Harolds for food instead.

The pair pass Paul and Chelsea on the way out and after spotting Terese, he immediately heads over to her table to see how she is. “About as good as you,” she comments and Paul explains about Aaron having a go at him. Chelsea still isn't amused at what Aaron said to her but Paul ignores her, instead wanting to try and track down the missing plaque.

When Paul is off calling Cara, Terese comments to Chelsea that it “must be upsetting seeing him go out of his way to help me?” Cattily she is quick to reply with “it won't last long” adding in too that she doesn't “like your chances of finding the plaque.” That comment does get to Terese, but she is determined to not give up!

CHELSEA: I guess we won't be seeing you at the hotel as much then. If there's no plaque, there's no reason to visit.
TERESE: It was you!
CHELSEA: Terese, I'm hurt that you would even think that!

Number 24
Nicolette loves what Aaron has come up with as a compromise to the Paul situation - he's arranged with Cara to borrow the portrait of Paul to hang in Isla's room. However, he hasn't forgiven her for betraying his trust and taking Isla to see Paul. She thinks he's “being a bit dramatic” and is shocked when Aaron then declares that “they are done!”

AARON: You know, over the years people have said that you are just like Paul!
(Nicolette scoffs at this)
AARON: They were right.

Penthouse suite
Paul looks at the shelf where all the family photographs are up on and takes the one of him and Terese on their wedding day away and relocates it instead to one of the drawers in a side unit. While he is doing that, voiceover Paul is back.

PAUL VOICEOVER: They say no one's a villain in their own story. I'm not sure that's true for me.
