Number 32
Mackenzie doesn't look too happy at seeing Haz and Billie hang out aka sitting on the sofa pashing but puts the brave face on when they spot her loitering outside the kitchen door. She thankfully gets out of helping train Trevor with them because she's got a date... it's now Haz's turn to look shocked at that news.
The Waterhole
Wendy comes over with wine and moral support for Jane. She's not sure if Noah's dad is bluffing or not about the withdrawal's but isn't "going to give in to threats" even if that does lead to consequences for the school. Before leaving, she urges Wendy to sort things out with Cara, there is enough battles in the street (with her v Terese) to add another one in!
Lassiters Complex
Jane and Karl exchange polite hellos as they pass one another in the complex.
Community centre
Karl brings sustenance for Susan as she helps sort out donations for the fundraiser - she's had enough of sitting at home and is looking to do something worthwhile until she gets inspiration for what to do post- retirement. Talking of jobs, Karl tells Susan about the job offer from Terese and confirms that the timing was done to "shout up a bit of community support." "Are you seriously considering this?" Susan asks (he is) and is told to put his energy into saving the school! "I am, believe me," he quickly replies with and tells her about meeting Jane and that he was barely able to "look her in the eye."
SUSAN: It's a very complicated situation.
The Waterhole
Holly is thrilled to hear Mackenzie is doing into online dating and is sure she will be the one not to have a horror story and "buck the trend." Mackenzie wants help to line up more dates but is told to wait and see how this one goes first. Holly is still feeling bitter about Eden but can't, as Mackenzie suggested, delete all photos of him. She wishes Mackenzie well for her date but can't hang around for moral support as she needs to head off to work.
Number 24
Jane confirms to Cara and Remi that she's getting backlash for Noah's punishment but they are please at the stand she is taking.
REMI: I mean taking cheap shots at anyone's family is just not on. Kids need to learn the importance of respect.
While Cara doesn't want to back down, she can see the bigger picture [saving the school] and they both give Jane permission to do what is necessary but the lady isn't for changing!
JANE: My daughter and granddaughter are part of a non-traditional family and I would be doing them a disservice if I did.
REMI: So you could lose students?
JANE: Well yes, but ultimately the school isn't worth saving if it's a place of compromised values.
Harolds café
Sadie asks her mum how checking out the Linwell Brothers about Cara went. We hear that the reference was non- committal and they seemed to ask her lots of questions about Cara instead.
Wendy is in a quandary over the watch, especially since the VM's are "nice people" and gets what is needed to be done... and that begins by confessing to Andrew when he comes to join them.
Community centre
Karl admits to Susan that yes, he's genuinely interested in the job but that the money is appealing too! Susan gets why he wants to be involved, its just the location of Terese's plans that is the problem.
Harolds café
Having confessed all, Andrew is disappointed with his wife and even more so when he hears that she's involved Sadie too!
The Waterhole
It looks like Mackenzie has been stood up with her date being a no- show. As she is about to head off, she literally runs into this guy (Eden) who seems more taken with her handbag (and her business card for Rebecchi Law) but leaves before making a total prat of himself to her!
Number 30
The VM's are just about to play a board came when Wendy (and Andrew) come calling. "I've got something that I'd like to tell you all," Wendy begins with, then reveals she has found her watch and so apologises sincerely to JJ for accusing him of taking it. Andrew also apologises for his role before asking for forgiveness. Remi accepts the apology on behalf of the family but when they find out how long Wendy has known the truth for, they are not amused!
CARA: Pull your head in! You should have a long, hard think about your choices if you're even capable of it!
JJ then looks embarrassed at Wendy and Andrew being ordered out of the house.
The Waterhole
Even though it did look like she was leaving, we find Mackenzie still in the bar sitting alone. She also didn't really need to be sent a photo of the happy couple at home, even if they have made food for her that she can eat later! To drown her sorry, she ditches the G&T and instead asks Tom to make her the strongest cocktail in his repertoire!
Community centre
Susan admits that she is concerned about Harold on his train travels having mentioned him a few times today, so to distract her, Karl reminds her of the advantages of being home alone! Karl's tempting plans get sidelined when Jane arrives with her donation and a request to pick Susan's brain for ideas on saving the school. Neither are willing to tell Jane that Terese has offered Karl a job as she seems confident that other than Toadie (because he's married to Terese) the whole street is behind her!
Number 26 (garden)
Andrew is still having trouble accepting what Wendy did. It would appear that Wendy is down about herself, especially after not getting the job given all the other mums in the street manage to combine that role along with working. Andrew reminds her that she is an "amazing mum" and how she helped, and got Sadie through, all her issues
WENDY: I wanted a career. I wanted to know the feeling of walking out the door and having people respect me. But that... that's just passed me by.
ANDREW: You should never compare yourself to others. And you should never underestimate the job that you do have.
Given what she's done, Wendy wonders why he is being nice to her and his response is that he loves her the way she is... and that she's "pretty incomparable."
Number 32
Haz wonders how Mackenzie's date is going and is told to text and find out!
The Waterhole
Mackenzie lies in her text back to them all is well and 'he's great.'
Number 32
Haz seems satisfied with the reply and explains to Billie why he is protective of her [Hendrix dying]. Satisfied with the reply, she promises to introduce Mackenzie to some great guys if the date hasn't gone well.
Number 26 (garden)
JJ calls by to apologise to Wendy and Andrew for how Cara spoke earlier but Wendy reassures that lad that Cara was "well within her rights." He also apologises (again) for being in their house and hopes "we can all move past it."
WENDY: Well, you reckon your mums can?
JJ: Honestly, Ma is going to be over it by tomorrow. Mum is more the type to hold a grudge!
Wendy had figured that out, but JJ will ask that Cara goes easy on her. Andrew praises the lad for being the "bigger person" and coming over.
ANDREW: You're a good man JJ.
JJ seems utterly thrilled at the praise just dolled out and heads off with a spring in his step and a huge smile on his face.
Lassiters hotel reception
"In the bag dirtbag," Holly says while doing something on her phone
The Waterhole
More food photos from Haz [a cheesecake] is the last thing a drunk, depressed Mackenzie really needed sending to her! As she is heading towards the bar, Mackenzie stumbles and mystery man (Eden) saves the day by catching her before she falls to the ground. Composing herself, she reassures mystery man she is fine and somewhat reluctantly agrees to him waiting with her while she waits for her taxi to arrive.
MYSTERY MAN: You don't have to worry about me. My name's Ed. I'm a good egg.
Lassiters hotel reception
Except Ed the good egg is really Eden the bad egg as we see a video of him (and Holly) on her phone.
The Waterhole
Mackenzie tells Eden what her name is and agrees to him waiting with her.
Lassiters hotel reception
Holly looks again at the video of Eden and herself on her phone.
Coming up on Neighbours
- Byron introducing Reece to Ramsay Street.
- Holly questioning Haz's motives.
- Jane pleased to see Hilary...or not!
