Number 22
Terese informs Amy and Toadie that Glen has nearly arrived at River Bend and he'll call once he's there. Amy knows the SES are already out looking for Ned and Harlow but it's almost dark and she's worried. "Assuming they're not already dead in a ditch somewhere," she mutters. Terese wants Amy to try remain positive, but Amy's upset and wants to drive to River Bend and help. Toadie stops her, reminding her it's not a good idea to drive when she's so tired and stressed. So Amy decides to go and see Freya instead as she might have more information.
Number 32
Leo is keeping Abigail entertained while David and Chloe pack Aaron's hospital bag. Chloe thinks she and David should tag team hospital visits - she'll look after Isla now, then when David needs a break they'll swap. Leo also offers his help, so David agrees then goes to the bedroom to get Aaron's pyjamas. Chloe gets a text message and looks concerned, relaying to Leo that it's from Terese, letting her know Ned and Harlow are missing.
Bushland
Ned wants Harlow to slow down her trek through the trees, but Harlow reminds him the sun's almost setting and they're in trouble because he lost the map. Ned replies that arguing about the map isn't going to change anything, so they keep walking, hoping to find safety.
The Waterhole
Hendrix tells Mackenzie that he'll cook her a feast for her first proper meal since her hospital stay. They bump into Kyle and Roxy and ask how Levi's faring. Kyle says he's doing okay physically, but mentally he's not sure. Roxy and Kyle admit they're considering calling off their insemination appointment tomorrow after what Levi's gone through. But Hendrix says if they put off having a baby every time Levi's in danger, they might not have one at all. Mackenzie adds that they'll make sure they have a relaxing time tonight so they're completely zen tomorrow. "That sounds nice," Roxy smiles, leaping from her barstool. "We should play darts!" The girls head over to the dartboard and Kyle tells Hendrix he needs his help with something.
Bushland
Night has fallen and Ned is trying to start a fire but isn't having much luck. He can see Harlow shivering and offers her his jacket, but she doesn't want him to freeze. So Ned settles in behind her on the ground and drapes the jacket over both of them. Harlow leans back and says she hopes they find Levi and Freya. But Ned remains optimistic and thinks Levi's safe back at camp, and the two of them will be found soon.
Number 30
Amy tells Toadie that Freya doesn't think Gareth was anywhere near Ned and Harlow. Toadie says that's good news, but Amy doesn't think having zero leads on their whereabouts is anything to celebrate. She starts to cry and says she should have gone to help search.
AMY: Why did you stop me?
TOADIE: Because there was already a team on the ground. And you need to get some rest.
AMY: It's dark now!
TOADIE: Which is even more reason why you shouldn't jump in a car and head up there. What if you get lost or have an accident? It's just going to make things worse.
AMY: Fine. But I'm going first thing in the morning.
TOADIE: You get a good night's rest I'm not even going to try and stop you.
Amy tearfully asks if Toadie will come with her tomorrow, figuring the more people searching, the sooner they'll be found. Toadie nods, saying he'll get Mel to look after the kids. "But hey, listen, we might even have some good news by then," he reassures her.
Bushland
The next morning Harlow and Ned try to ration out what little food they have left. Ned says he could murder a coffee, but all Harlow wants is fresh water. Suddenly, they hear a helicopter overhead. They leap up and try to capture its attention, shouting and waving their arms around, but it keeps flying past. Ned thinks the chopper will circle back so they should wait where they are, but Harlow wants to keep moving and find a more open clearing so they'll be spotted easier.
Harold's Café
Susan and Karl are having breakfast with Hendrix when Terese approaches them. They're shocked to learn that Ned and Harlow are missing. Hendrix asks if this has something to do with what happened to Levi and Aaron. Terese nods and says she thinks Ned and Harlow went looking for Levi and Freya and got lost. "You must be going out of your mind," Susan sympathetically replies. Terese says every time the phone rings she hopes it's the search and rescue team.
HENDRIX: Mackenzie and I are meant to be setting up a special lunch for Kyle and Roxy but I'm guessing they won't be in the mood for that now.
TERESE: (keeping her voice down) No, Hendrix, please; I haven't said anything to them. (She glances behind her where Roxy and Kyle are sitting together) They've got such a big day today and I really want them to enjoy it.
SUSAN: So what can we do to help?
TERESE: Just keep praying and hope they turn up soon.
Bushland
Harlow accidentally trips over while she's walking and Ned helps her up. They keep walking through the bush, looking more sweaty and disheveled as they go. Harlow attempts to sip some water from her flask only to discover that it's empty. Their luck changes for the better when they start to hear running water and are overjoyed when they stumble upon a waterfall.
Harold's Café
Mackenzie is in the kitchen with Hendrix while he prepares a dessert for Roxy and Kyle. There are two very similar containers sitting next to each other - sea salt and white sugar - and Hendrix doesn't realise he's grabbed the salt by mistake. "Let's make this a lunch to remember," he grins, unwittingly pouring salt into his dessert mix.
Number 32
Chloe and Leo are sitting with the babies when Terese calls in to ask David how Aaron's going. David says he's heading into the hospital now, but Aaron had a good night and the surgeon's happy with his progress. When David leaves, Chloe asks for an update on Ned and Harlow. Terese despondently says there's still been no sightings. Leo asks if anyone's thought about telling Paul what's going on, but Terese says that would be a terrible idea. She knows Paul would hop on the first plane back, against doctors' orders, and the last thing they need right now is to be worrying about him too. "He's not going to be happy if he knows we're keeping this from him," Leo replies. Terese then gets a phone call from Glen, hoping he's got good news, but she gets upset when she finds out Ned and Harlow are still lost.
Harold's Café
Roxy and Kyle return from their doctor's appointment. Roxy's not keen on being out, she'd rather go home and keep her body elevated so they don't take any chances. But when she finds out Kyle has planned a special lunch for her with Hendrix and Mackenzie's help, she's happy to stay (as long as she gets an extra chair to rest her feet on, "please don't make the baby fight gravity"). Hendrix and Mackenzie watch them over by the kitchen. Mac looks unhappy, saying she feels like a bad friend for not telling them about Harlow and Ned, but Hendrix says she's actually being a good friend trying to protect them.
Waterfall
Harlow and Ned are feeling a lot better now they've had fresh water to drink. Harlow decides to strip down to her underwear so she can go for a swim and wash the dirt away. Laughing, Ned soon follows. They splash around in the water for a bit, having a brief 'moment' when they paddle close to one another, before Harlow swims away. She stands under the waterfall and calls Ned over to revel in the beauty of it, but when Ned joins her it looks as though that's not the only beautiful thing on his mind. He gets back into the water and Harlow casts an intrigued glance his way.
Harold's Café
Roxy is stoked when Hendrix brings out chocolate souffles for her and Kyle. But when Hendrix returns to the kitchen and they dig into the food, they're horrified to discover the souffle tastes disgusting. While they're flailing, Mackenzie walks over with some water and gets startled, dropping the bottle. Roxy tries to tell her it's okay as Mac frantically cleans the mess, but Mac lets slip it's not the only thing she's stressed about. Roxy wants to know what's going on.
Number 22
"I can't believe you tried to keep this from us," Roxy says, as she barges into the house with Kyle. Terese says she didn't want to ruin their big day, but Roxy reminds her Ned and Harlow are family. Kyle asks what the latest is and if they've heard from the search team, but Terese says there's still been no updates. Roxy can't believe they've just vanished into thin air.
Harold's Café
Mackenzie feels terrible that she blurted out the news to Roxy, but Hendrix says they tried their best. He tucks into the leftover souffle and almost chokes on how bad it is. Mackenzie just thinks he's being a harsh critic on himself, but when she tries it she realises he was telling the truth. Hendrix soon discovers his salt and sugar mix-up and says at least when Ned and Harlow are found they can all joke about what an idiot he is. He gives Mackenzie a hug and reassures her they'll hear good news soon.
Waterfall/Bushland
Ned and Harlow are dressed again after their swim. They sit on a rock by the waterfall and Harlow discusses their rations, but she's confused when she sees Ned smiling. Ned admits that anyone else would be freaking out about being lost in the bush but she's super chill. "It's because of you," Harlow says. Ned asks if that's a compliment, but Harlow tells him he deserves it.
Meanwhile, Amy and Toadie are trekking through the bush. Amy thinks they should have stayed with the rest of the search party after all, but Toadie says Amy's original idea to cast the net a bit wider was a good one.
AMY: Why does it take a disaster to make you realise what's so obvious? I love him, Toad. I love him.
Harlow tells Ned that if she was going to be lost in the wilderness with anyone, she's glad it's him. She leans in and kisses him. When Ned doesn't move, Harlow wonders if she shouldn't have acted on her impulse.
As they keep walking, Amy asks Toadie what's going to happen if she never gets the chance to tell Ned how she really feels. But Toadie says that Ned and Harlow are both resourceful people, "and they've got each other".
They sure do, Toad. In fact, Ned tells Harlow he's glad she kissed him and goes in for a kiss of his own. They start to make out, Ned making quick work of taking his top off.
