Amy's apartment
Amy is depressed at no longer working at the bar, but Zara is trying to get her to see the positives - the pair of them can spend time together.
Harold's café
Hendrix (and Mackenzie) seem very happy at the news his studies (culinary art degree) has been officially deferred. Mackenzie is already planning on what he can do for the next 12 months - making her tea!
When Zara comes in for a coffee ahead of her first day at school, Mackenzie spots that she's doctored her school uniform. Initially she goes to tell the lassie that she'll be in trouble (because she didn't seek Susan's approval) but decides to hold her tongue and let Zara receive Susan's wrath instead!
ZARA: I might have to hate school but I don't have to hate what I'm wearing.
Zara isn't at all enthralled about having to go to school. Hendrix tries to tell her Erinsborough High isn't too bad especially so after he changed his attitude when he realised you need good marks to get into university. "Just something to think about," he adds as Zara pays for her coffee.
ZARA: Thanks Hendy!
Toadie trades place with Zara and his astonishment at seeing Zara smiling quickly goes after Hendrix lets slip that Amy has lost her job because the bar isn't being rebuilt. Toadie literally looks shellshocked at hearing the news about his friend.
The Waterhole
Kyle is impressed at the sprucing up the bar has undergone after being damaged last week in the storm - the damage was minimal but Terese decided to do a bit more.
Levi arrives after being summoned by Sheila - she's taken it upon herself to set Levi up with the newly arrived Freya! Sheila has even set up one of the tables for the pair, but Levi decides that if they are going on a date, it will be anywhere but The Waterhole!
Terese's office
Amy literally begs Terese to reconsider rebuilding the bar, but part of the rationale for not rebuilding is so that it isn't a permanent reminder to Leo. "I didn't think of that," Amy admits and hears that the only jobs available are casual ones, which she isn't interested in.
Lassiters Complex
Zara is looking online at a list of possible jobs for her mum, but Amy doesn't like the sound of the one she's currently reading out - a dental nurse. While grateful at the help Zara is providing, Amy decides that her perfect job is one where she is the boss and after Zara heads off to school, Amy makes a call about an advert she's seen.
Vineyard
Levi has taken Freya to the winery for their 'date' away from the prying eyes of Sheila. He does admit that it was all Sheila's idea, however Freya confesses that she knew they'd been set up.
Erinsborough High
As they walk the corridors, Susan and Jane spot Zara and welcome her to the school. The pair immediately notice that the inform has been altered and she's ordered to wear the standard uniform tomorrow. Surprisingly, Zara readily agrees to wear the correct uniform tomorrow with very little fuss.
Vineyard
Having sussed out that the pair both seem to like Ned Kelly, Freya asks if that is why he chose to be a policeman. The appeal of chasing criminals on a horse wasn't what attracted Levi to the job although does admit he perhaps got into the profession for the wrong reason (bullying in his past). In return, Freya isn't giving much away about her and why she's in Erinsborough, other that she has friends in the area.
Somewhere
We now see what Amy was calling about - a food truck! After a bit of toing and froing, she eventually does a deal with the guy to buy it for the full $25,000 asking price.
Erinsborough High
Jane spots Zara alone beside her locker and tries to do the right thing by introducing Zara to a couple of passing students (Sadie and Aubrey) so that they can show the newbie around. The girls are very polite to each other while in Jane's presence, but after she leaves, the daggers are out for the newbie and she is firmly told to find her own friends!
Vineyard
The date seems to be going well and the pair are now wandering among the vines. Levi apologises for giving Freya a hard time yesterday, then fills her in about the Flamingo Bar. Freya does at least give sympathetic noises to him and after Levi mentions he has loads of photos and videos on his phone (from the wedding), Freya subtly asks to see them (he thinks it so she can see the photos of him. After flicking through a few, she then seems to be paying very close attention to one of the photos - one of Ned with the mystery scarf around his neck.
Harold's café
Having committed to buying the food truck, Amy is now actually trying to organise the finances to pay for it, something she seems to be struggling to do given the gist of the one-sided call we heard her making.
Onto happier things though, Amy spots Susan and seems happy to hear that Zara is getting on well at school. Then in front of Susan (as well as Mackenzie and Hendrix) she admits to potentially making the "biggest mistake of my life!" "What did you do?" Mackenzie nervously asks and Amy tells the trio about buying a food truck and has maxed herself out buying it.
AMY: I have no idea what I'm doing!
"Why would you buy a food truck?" Susan asks and Amy repeats the rationale she said to Zara - she wants to be her own boss. It then dawns on her that she hasn't got a business plan nor even an idea of what food she plans to serve, just "a massive credit card debt" however the ladies reassure her that she can do this.
The Waterhole
For someone all packed and about to go on their honeymoon, Kyle looks like he's facing the prospect of a wet weekend in Blackpool with the sullen look he has on his face. When Sheila quizzes him on it, he puts his mood down to having to take care of some tram business before leaving.
Levi and Freya swap places with Kyle and given the happy looks on their faces, Sheila assumes their date went well and wants details however the pair are keeping quiet!
Amy's place
Zara isn't impressed at hearing what her mum has bought especially as it means less time for them. Amy tries to explains why she bought the food truck (she doesn't want to lose another job) before turning to Zara's woes at school. Day 1 and the lassie is already sick of school, but Amy knows Zara is in the right place... just like she is too.
AMY: I've got a really good feeling about this food truck. I'm going to make it work! Just watch me!
Harold's café
It's the first day and Zara is already skiving school as she comes in to moan to Hendrix and Mackenzie over what her mum's done. Zara isn't amused to find out that they knew about it before she did. Hendrix and Mackenzie think Amy has done the right thing buying the food truck. Naturally Zara thinks otherwise, preferring instead that her mum got an 9-5, Monday to Friday job. Hendrix knows where she is coming from, having had similar issues at not seeing his dad due to work commitments and tries to get her to not to go off the rails like he did.
ZARA: I'm over it. if mum can't make time for me, what's the point in bothering about school? I have better ways to spend my time.
HENDRIX: Zara, please just don't do anything stupid.
Meanwhile, Ned is out the back tidying up when Freya spots him. She asks him about the scarf he wore at the wedding and where did he get it from. Ned really can't remember but seems pleased that it got back to its owner (she is holding it in her hands). Freya then gets out her phone and shows Ned a photo on it - its some guy, who she claims is her cousin but has lost contact with him, however does think he is in the area. Unfortunately for her, Ned hasn't seen the guy before.
Erinsborough High
Jane spots that Zara is standing on a bench and orders her down. "Give me two secs," Zara replies back and gets out a lighter to light some paper she has in her hand!
JANE: Zara, don't you dare!
Zara ignores the warning and moves the lit paper up towards the smoke detector and seconds later the fire alarm is going off! At least Zara stamps her foot on the lit paper before she and the other schoolkids start heading for the exit.
