Lassiter's Complex
Roxy follows Harlow outside and isn't happy.
HARLOW: You snubbed me Roxy. How did you expect me to react?
ROXY: You got your knickers in a twist over a situation that you caused.
Harlow isn't convinced that Roxy originally intended for her to be her bridesmaid. Harlow was more concerned about Glen when Roxy tried to reconnect with her. Harlow is not impressed that Roxy has made her feel like scum. Roxy didn't intend that. David arrives and tries to calm things down as Roxy doesn't want to feel guilty about what's happened. Roxy realises this is happening due to the compassion fatigue but Roxy is at the end of her tether.
ROXY: You've made your move so don't hate me when I play your game.
Amy's Flat
Amy thinks she's done well with her cooking, Toadie agrees. Zara is heading off to listen to a podcast. Amy wants her to help with the dishes but Zara doesn't agree. Amy wants her to do it while she gets on with other jobs. Zara points out Toadie isn't helping, Amy tells her Toadie's about to leave. Amy gets a message from Ned asking them to go to the Café for a surprise.
ZARA: Let's surprise him by not turning up.
TOADIE: Ned is a fun guy and that's not a reference to his mushroom issues.
Amy wants to carry on with the jobs then go to the Café. Zara agrees to go to the Café in return for not going to the Café, Amy agrees.
The Waterhole
Roxy tells Mackenzie she thought Harlow would say sorry but that wasn't the case, Mackenzie is sympathetic. Roxy realises she deserves to be treated better but didn't expect Harlow to treat her that way.
Mick and Kyle arrive. Mick takes Mackenzie's dress to add some extra bits and plans for her to do a song. Mick wants to sort out makeup with Roxy. Hendrix messages wanting them to sample cakes, Mick offers to go and sort out a shortlist.
ROXY: What would we do without you?
Harold's Café
Ned has planned some treats for Amy and Zara to help work things out with her. Ned thinks it's good to go low key. Ned wants Zara to realise she's still Amy's priority as well as having Levi and Ned in her life. Levi isn't so convinced and thinks Ned is going overboard. Ned thinks it will work. Levi would prefer to leave Amy and Zara to sort things out.
Amy and Zara arrive. Ned downplays the effort he's gone to. Amy gushes over it and thinks it's just what she needed. Zara points out they've just eaten but Amy tells her to sit down. Ned hadn't realised but Amy will still enjoy it. Ned suggests going to see a musical whilst Zara's here.
ZARA: That show's been cancelled.
NED: They were selling tickets like yesterday.
ZARA: Cancelled as in no one wants to go near it.
Apparently someone in the cast has done something and now no-one wants to go and see it. Zara takes her Mum's card to take an Uber to the City. Amy looks at Ned and Levi but doesn't try and stop her.
Penthouse
David arrives and Harlow refuses to talk about Roxy.
DAVID: That only tells me you probably should.
HARLOW: Agree to disagree then.
Harlow doesn't want any help. David gently tells her that after the way Harlow has been acting Roxy decided not to have her as a bridesmaid. Harlow tells him she's been focusing on keeping Glen out of Paul and Terese's lives. She doubts the compassion fatigue as she feels hurt.
DAVID: You've stopped listening to people. You get any sort of criticism and you counter punish. You're alienating your friends. People feel like they don't know you anymore. Make things right with Roxy. If you don't that hurt you're feeling is only going to get worse and worse.
Ramsay Street
David tells Chloe he hopes Harlow listened to him. He tells her there is more to this than meets the eye. They spot Mick outside No.26. David tells her that Mick is making this wedding go ahead but Chloe has her doubts.
Mick spots them and sticks his tongue out at them, they head off. Karl catches up with Mick, he's been trying to contact him. Mick tells him he's been busy. Mick tells him he's changed his mind about Karl's singing plans, Karl is aghast!
MICK: I want you to feature as a special gift from me for the newlyweds.
Mick promises to make this happen if Karl agrees to help him out.
KARL: You haven't told me what you want.
MICK: (Rings Karl's bike bell.) I reckon you can figure it out.
Karl looks stunned as Mick walks off!
Lassiter's Complex
Ned is contemplating why their plans didn't work out, Levi points out that Ned dreamt this up. Ned wants to come up with a better plan, Levi suggests they should back off and give Amy some space. Ned isn't convinced though.
Amy is phoning Zara trying to find her.
AMY: Put the card down. I repeat put the card down.
Toadie arrives and Amy updates him on what's going on. She let Zara go as she was giving attitude to Ned and Levi. Amy is not finding it easy to find things that Zara would enjoy. Toadie suggests that Zara finds a part-time job. Amy isn't sure after the drama so far. Toadie points out it would help her out as well.
Ramsay Street
Mackenzie gets out of the car and Harlow approaches looking for Roxy. Mackenzie is wary as she thinks Harlow will lay into Roxy again. Harlow wants to talk instead.
MACKENZIE: Where do you get off laying into her?
HARLOW: I'm not in the mood for one of your holier than thou lectures.
MACKENZIE: Excuse me?
HARLOW: You can stick your protective bridesmaid act. It's sad and boring.
Harlow walks off as Mick brings over Mackenzie's dress. Apparently he's made some alterations and tells her she will look great. She thanks him as he walks off. Mackenzie unzips the dress bag and is not impressed!
Amy's Flat
Amy suggests to Zara that she finds a part-time job.
AMY: Might teach you some responsibility.
Zara isn't as keen as she's not sure how long her stay will be. Toadie thinks it will be a good way to keep herself from getting bored.
ZARA: You and I have a very different idea of pain.
Susan thinks they can come up with something. Amy thinks Zara can meet more people this way and earn money. Zara points out she could do the same back at home and goes into the bedroom. Toadie thinks Zara will be persuaded but Amy's not so sure.
AMY: Her Dads are so tough. She came here to escape that. I don't want to drive her away. Susan thinks they should think of an ultimatum, Toadie thinks that's a better alternative than Amy giving in to Zara all the time.
The Waterhole
Kyle and Roxy are sampling cake options. They like the red velvet option as Hendrix heads to work. Mick tells Kyle and Roxy that he has things under control.
ROXY: You are an absolute dream to work with.
MICK: I talk, people listen and make it happen.
Kyle suggests a toast and they toast to Mick.
Harold's Café
Amy wants Zara to apologise so she does reluctantly to Ned and Levi. Levi accepts her apology and offers her a tour of the Police Station.
ZARA: I think the police should be defunded so pass.
Amy has had enough and tells Zara it's time to get a job if she wants to stay in Erinsborough. Zara is not impressed and points out she lacks experience. Apparently unpaid internships are unethical. Ned suggests she works at the Café and Hendrix seems agreeable. They can get free coffee and cake thrown in.
ZARA: You can't force a child into labour.
AMY: You're 16. Calm down.
HENDRIX: Wouldn't you rather earn some cash than steal your Mum's credit card?
Penthouse
Harlow explains to David that she gave up trying to talk to Roxy after speaking to Mackenzie. David doesn't think that's necessarily the case. Harlow isn't so sure Roxy will be ok about it and Mackenzie isn't happy either. David is heading off to see Britney and Abigail.
Harold's Café
Ned thanks Hendrix for helping him out. Hendrix doesn't think it will be smooth sailing but is happy to take the credit. Zara seems to have accepted the job so Ned is going to start with the coffee machine.
Susan and Toadie arrive and are pleased Zara has taken the job. Zara realises that they suggested this to Amy. Ned points out that she needs to be professional and don't make it personal. Hendrix takes her into the kitchen to show her the ropes. Zara doesn't want to pretend she will actually make the meals, Hendrix is agreeable.
HENDRIX: Why are you in Erinsborough if you hate it so much?
ZARA: Had to get away. My Dads in Cairns are way strict.
Zara's Dad has a husband, her half-brother has two Dads. She doesn't want to take on an extra two Dads as well. Ned and Levi are always there when she's here to spend time with Amy. Hendrix realises that Zara wants time with Amy without Ned and Levi.
Zara and Hendrix have come outside. Hendrix tells her that he wanted the same thing when he moved here but didn't much success. He admits that he fell for Chloe which was explosive. He admits Chloe didn't reciprocate his feelings but they're no longer together.
No.28
It's now the evening. Susan arrives home to find Karl staring into space at the table. Karl explains that Mick wanted him to do the gig in return for a favour.
KARL: He wants to bed me.
SUSAN: He's been blatantly flirting with you for weeks.
Karl didn't take it seriously and is worried the gig won't go ahead. Susan doesn't think Mick will give way going by his past behaviour.
KARL: He's got good taste in men.
Susan explains that Mick thinks she should arrive at the wedding on a horse but Susan can't see the funny side. No paperwork is allowed but they need to sign the wedding licence for the wedding to be legal.
Mackenzie arrives looking for Hendrix who's at work. She has a photo of the dress Mick has altered to show Susan, she would prefer Karl not to look. Susan is aghast when she sees the photo and doesn't think it's suitable for a wedding. (We don't see the photo.) Mackenzie tells them that Mick has spoilt the dress. Karl wonders if they should tell Kyle and Roxy about the wedding licence. Mackenzie doesn't think they'll listen.
Harold's Café
Zara comes to talk to Levi when he arrives. She's interested to know what he would plan to do if the police got defunded. Levi isn't sure she's being genuinely interested. She wants to know him better. Amy arrives and hopes Zara's getting on ok. Levi suggests a mini golf place, Zara is happy to agree and heads into the kitchen.
AMY: (To Levi) Whatever you're doing keep doing it.
HENDRIX: What was that all about?
ZARA: That's for me to know and you to find out.
