Amy's apartment
Levi isn't too amused with Amy's stance and questions why she is objecting to him seeing someone else, when she's allowed two boyfriends.
AMY: I just want to know why this is all of a sudden, such a big deal?
LEVI: Because Amy you haven't given me a single good reason why it's one rule for you and another for me.
Number 22
David drops by to tell Terese she's welcome any time at #32 to see Isla, which she appreciates. Their conversation is interrupted by a very annoyed Paul who has just discovered that the locks have been changed when he comes through the garden to the sunroom. He's further peeved to hear if he wants to visit the house to see Harlow or to pick things up, he's to call ahead first. "I want you to respect my wishes," Terese is forced to say to back her stance up.
"Do you think this is fair?" Paul cries out to nobody in particular. Ned is the first to reply that it is, but Harlow thinks Paul should have "a spare key for emergencies." Terese points out that if she wanted him to have a key, "I wouldn't have changed the locks!"
TERESE: All I'm asking is for you to call first.
The Waterhole
Levi and Sheila are at loggerheads again over his love life - Sheila wants Levi to go out with Felicity again, to show he isn't "a yes man." He is hesitant to do that, to "respect" Amy's feelings and so not to "hurt her."
SHEILA: She's just ignored you for two days for absolutely no reason. Relationships are not meant to be like this... not the good ones anyway!
Lassiters hotel foyer
Terese is impressed at Harlow being pro-active in the running of the hotel - she wants to share out the things that currently are Chloe's sole responsibility.
The good mood Terese was in dissipates when Paul arrives to discuss a work matter. She informs him that in future, all further meetings will either be held in public or with a 3rd person present. Paul thinks that is "completely unnecessary" but Terese isn't changing her mind!
When he is alone with Harlow, he thanks her for sticking up (at #22) about the key but she is still of the mindset that it's both their homes. "I think I'm going to need your help with something," he asks after ensuring Terese is safely out of earshot of them.
The Flamingo Bar (exterior)
Amy seems surprised at Ned not wanting to discuss what is happening with herself and Levi, and then when he does say something (accusing her of being jealous) she isn't happy! Even though Amy admits it is "double standards," she doesn't want Levi "dating anyone else."
AMY: The thought of either of you having another girlfriend, it's just... I hate it. I hate it!
The Waterhole
David spots Harlow still working when he comes into collect his dinner order. After explaining she's just about to finish, she quizzes him on why he didn't support Paul earlier. His explanation is that its "none of my business" and would rather Paul and Terese "work things out for themselves, whatever that might end up being."
Harlow isn't too impressed he's not taking a side and so David changes the conversation to her work at the hotel instead - praising her for "proving to everyone that you're not relying on nepotism to get ahead."
HARLOW: That's the last thing I'd do.
When David heads to the bar to get his order, Harlow opens up the email Chloe sent with the roster attached and starts to edit it.
The Waterhole (next day)
Hours of thinking has led to Levi concluding that he doesn't want to lose Amy. "You're not going to lose her," Sheila points out to her grandson, she was so lucky to have "snagged you in the first place!"
SHEILA: Levi, I wish you could see what I can see. Amy only cares about Amy. You've got to admit it! She's in charge and she suits herself.
"That's not true," Levi replies back, so Sheila tells him "to prove it" by asking Felicity out on a date (if that's what he wants).
Harold's café
Concerned at how Harlow wasn't too happy about the locks being changed at #22, Ned beings the lassie over a cuppa so they can chat about it. "It's Grandad's house too," is her explanation over why she was unhappy and doesn't want to talk [to him], instead simply wanting Terese and Paul back together. He gets that, and adds they shouldn't be getting involved, which she takes umbrage at given both he and Roxy are on Terese's side.
NED: Because she needs us. I know you're Paul's granddaughter, you're on his side.
HARLOW: I'm on the side of what makes them both happy. Okay. And that's saving their marriage.
Ned suggests that given what Paul did, Terese "might be better off without him," but Harlow thinks otherwise because "they belong together."
NED: Okay, we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one!
Harlow agrees but is still insisting Paul and Terese will "back together in no time." That comment somewhat throws Ned and Harlow explains that everything is going to come into place - Paul, Terese... and with Chloe out of the way, she can show Terese "what I'm made of!"
Terese comes in to check Harlow is available for the 10am meeting with Paul, but her demeanour totally changes.
The Flamingo Bar
While calling in for the 3rd day running for a juice, David can sense Amy needs to unload and so lends Amy his ears. Although she begins by admitting it is "unfair of me" she moans to David about Levi wanting to see someone else, which wasn't part of the deal they made. He asks how serious Levi is (enough given they've argued) and suggests taking the lead from how Ned and Levi dealt with things.
AMY: I know what I have to do, it's just I don't want to do it. I guess if this is what he wants, then I just have to deal.
Harold's café (rear exterior)
"Meeting room with a view... how nice," a sarcastic Paul comments when he arrives for his meeting with Terese and is at least more wrapped up for meeting outdoors than she is! While they wait for Harlow to arrive, Paul gets rebuked for looking at the menu (here for a business meeting not eating!) then for trying to engage Terese in chit-chat! "Don't be like this please," he says which is met by silence!
Harold's café (inside)
Ned takes the opportunity to chat with Levi (about Amy) when he comes in for a coffee. Levi can't understand "what the big deal is," commenting that the pair of them sorted things out and so Amy can too.
LEVI: Why shouldn't we have the same options as she does?
NED: Because that's not how this started.
Levi asked if Amy said to have a word, and Ned replies no, he just doesn't like seeing Amy upset. "Neither do I," Levi immediately says back and wonders if their arrangement "needs re-negotiating?"
NED: Because of Felicity?
LEVI: No. It's not because of her, it's because of the principle.
NED: And that's worth losing Amy over?
LEVI: Can I just have my coffee... minus the lecture?!
Ned starts to make the coffee then stops to seek confirmation Levi has already made his mind up.
NED: If you're going to hurt her, I have a right to know.
LEVI: Okay. I'm going over to her place right now to tell her I've got a date with Felicity.
NED: You know how much she's going to hate hearing that.
LEVI: It can't be her way all the time.
Harold's café (rear exterior)
Harlow is still keeping the pair waiting and while Paul sips his coffee, Terese has apparently re-read the same page 3 times! He tries to engage her in conversation, even praising her, but Terese ignores him although at least she does turn the page over rather than re-read it for the 4th time!
PAUL: Terese, you're more than just my wife, you're my best friend and I love you more than anything. I'm not going to let you go without a fight.
Paul continues by adding "why don't we just put this aside..." but he doesn't get to finish his sentence as finally, Terese realises Harlow isn't coming so plans to reschedule the meeting and barely gives Paul the time of day before getting up and walking away!
Lassiters Complex
After cutting through Harold's, Terese stops as she exits the front door.
Harold's café (rear exterior)
And of only Terese had held on a wee bit more, she'd have been there when Harlow finally arrives to chaperone the meeting! From the initial exchanges Harlow has with her grandad, her late arrival was deliberate (Paul had asked for a favour from her earlier) to let them talk.
PAUL: She's a stubborn woman!
He then tells Harlow not to worry as "I'll get there," confident that Terese still loves him too! As the pair start to chat, Terese has cut back through Harold's and stops this time when she spots the pair of them.
PAUL: Thanks for helping me with this.
HARLOW: I'll always help you. I really want you guys to work things out.
Just as Paul says "thanks" back to Harlow, Terese quickly scoots back inside Harold's, unseen by the pair.
Amy's apartment
Levi does as he told Ned, and informs Amy that he's asked Felicity out. She knows how important it is to Levi and that it will be "an adjustment" but promises "to work on it." Neither want to lose the other by breaking up and before he leaves, Levi acknowledges to Amy that it "isn't easy."
Amy's apartment/Lassiters Complex
Levi is barely out of the apartment when Amy gets on her phone and calls Ned, who's just exited Harold. She gives her blessing for him to date other women, but he doesn't want to take up the offer as she's "the only woman I want."
Harold's café
Terese catches up with Harlow to question why she was late for the meeting. Thinking quickly, Harlow says she was caught up trying to sort the roster, which puzzles Terese as she thought Chloe had done them. "So did I," Harlow lies then further lies by saying when she was checking it (with another colleague) they notice errors, but it has now been sorted. Subtly, Harlow enquires how the meeting (with Paul) went but is told it is being rescheduled and asks Harlow to facilitate that.
The Waterhole
Sheila can't believe that Amy has agreed to Levi seeing Felicity when he comes in to update her... but does seem pleased to hear that it's not all over with Amy.
SHEILA: See, standing up for yourself is really great.
She then asks how does it feel and Levi admits he is "relieved" because he genuinely thought Amy would break things up with him. Sheila thinks that it was more the realisation she'd pushed Levi "too far." It then dawns on Levi that he's got the whole set up to explain to Felicity too... but he's going to keep quiet for now at least, until he knows it's going to lead somewhere with her. Sheila thinks otherwise and
SHEILA: You like Felicity don't you?
LEVI: Enough to get to know her better, yes.
SHEILA: Then you need to be honest with everybody, including yourself, and it will all work out... you'll see!
Harold's café
Terese storms into the café and tells Harlow bluntly they "need to talk" as she's been in contact with Chloe and discovered there were no errors in the roster. "Really, that's so strange," Harlow innocently replies back and tries to cover her track by coming up with plausible excuses which Terese isn't falling for at all!
TERESE: Look Harlow, I know you want to improve yourself, but you can't go about it this way.
HARLOW: Okay, yes I want to impress you, but I'd never do anything like that.
Terese then calls Harlow's bluff by saying she saw her and Paul talking when she was supposed to be sorting the roster drama.
TERESE: Is that why you didn't come to the meeting because he told you to stay away?
HARLOW: No.
TERESE: Don't lie Harlow! You're not nearly as good at it as your grandfather!
HARLOW: Okay, I was just trying to help.
TERESE: What, like helping with the rosters?!
Terese is annoyed at "Paul's influence" rubbing off on Harlow and asks if there are any more lies Harlow needs to come clean on?
HARLOW: Okay, you're clearly upset and we should talk about it later.
Terese is far from upset... more like very angry and wastes no time in responding back!
TERESE: No, we are going to talk about this now because this has to stop!
(Harlow rolls her eyes at this point)
TERESE: Harlow, Paul is never going to offer you any moral guidance. AND I'M NOT GOING TO STAND BY AND WATCH YOU EVOLVE INTO A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK.
Harlow goes to respond to that but then suddenly stops when she notices someone walk in the café - Brent in his army fatigues (pity about the non-army hair though!).
