The Waterhole
The K's are shocked to hear from Mackenzie that Hendrix is quitting school. Susan thinks it could be down to stress and promises to talk to the lad to get to the bottom of it.
Harold's café
Hendrix ignores Mackenzie calling him on his mobile. Ned has spotted his arrival and comes over to ask if he wants more shifts (due to the school holidays) and although Hendrix does accepts the offer, it's done in a very nonchalant way.
Kyle perhaps wishes he hadn't accompanied Roxy into the café when it becomes a moaning session between Roxy and Ned over how bad things are at #22.
ROXY: Not even Satan could survive!
Roxy tells Hendrix (who's been silently listening in) that he's lucky to not have this sort of drama at home.
Number 30
Toadie has been helping Amy pack up her stuff ahead of her move and promises to come visit her in her new abode.
Before she heads off, Sheila drops by with a house warming gift - a very colourful vase from her "own private collection" but from the look on Amy's face, it's a pressie she could have been done without receiving!
Ramsay Street
As he also helps Amy move, Levi spots the vase in amongst Amy's belongings and thinks it's a sign that Sheila has come round. We also see that Ned is helping Amy move too.
When Melanie stops for a chat, Amy admits that she can't wait to get into her own place where she doesn't have to "manage my love life under somebody else's roof" and is away from "prying eyes" too!
AMY: This apartment is going to change my life!
Number 30
When Melanie enters the house, Nell is thrilled to see her... and asks (since Amy is leaving) if she can now live with them! Both Toadie and Melanie are taken aback by this and manage to come up with the excuses why this won't be happening.
Number 28
Hendrix isn't at all amused to find a 'reception committee' of the K's and Mackenzie waiting for him when he arrives home. They leave him with no choice but to talk and he confirms that he is dropping out of school. Susan asks if he is "worried" and "what happens next" and the lad replies that he is "terrified." Hendrix admits he's "sinking" and Susan is quick to reassure him that it won't be like last year and that any fears he has, "will be distant memories soon enough." She also adds that he has a "very bright future" ahead even if he chooses not to go to university. Unfortunately the words have failed as he tells the K's that his mind is made up, he's dropped out of school.
Amy's apartment
Amy thanks both Levi and Ned for helping her get moved in... and then discovers she's got the place all to herself too because Ned (first choice for night 1) bails to cook Terese dinner and Levi can't manage either as he's picked up an additional shift!
Number 28
Mackenzie wants to celebrate finishing her first year at university by going on a camping trip with Hendrix, but he wants them to go now... literally tonight! "I can't," she tells him as she's babysitting, so asks him to join her and they can have pizza! Unfortunately pizza isn't doing it for him and he declines the offer, saying he wants an early night.
After Mackenzie leaves, Hendrix puts an envelope Melanie dropped off (which is full of $50 notes) into his pocket.
Number 30
With Nell safely in her room, Toadie thanks Melanie over how she handled Nell's question about moving in. Melanie isn't sure her 'being crazy' tactic worked, but he reassures her never to be afraid of being her true self around them.
TOADIE: We love you just the way you are.
The Waterhole
"That's not wine Sheila," Amy comments when she gets another box of stuff instead of the bottle of wine she was after! The box is full of things Sheila thinks would help decorate Amy's new pad... like a lace cloth and another vase!
AMY: I'm a minimalist actually.
Sheila isn't taking no for answer, and insists Amy takes the stuff to "offset that unsavoury activity that is going to be happening at your establishment." Amy seems more annoyed at her apartment being referred to as an 'establishment' although Levi's convenient arrival seems to stop any further chat on that, more because he wants her to accept Sheila's offering! Sheila at this point conveniently bails to so doesn't hear what Amy says to Levi.
AMY: She thinks that I am trash! That is exactly why she's giving me hers.
LEVI: Or it could be a peace offering.
Amy doesn't think so and with looks that could kill, grabs her bag ahead of walking out of the bar, leaving Levi to take the box.
Meanwhile, Hendrix is trying to convince Roxy to go out drinking with him but she's agreed to attend the meal at home which Ned is preparing. He eventually wears her down and she agrees to go out with him.
HENDRIX: You're not going to regret this.
The Pavilion
One of the things that helped convince Roxy to go drinking with Hendrix, was that there was going to be a party here.
The place is jumping when Hendrix brings back a tray of drinks for the pair of them. Roxy think he's overordered and wants to make the drinks at least last, but Hendrix would rather live for the moment and not thinking about the future (that phrase confuses Roxy). Hendrix then puts his words into action - after downing another shot, he gets up on the dancefloor to strut his stuff and eventually Roxy joins him.
Harold's café
The K's are still wondering how to deal with Hendrix's bombshell when they come into collect their order. Melanie and Toadie also arrive to collect their order and Melanie comments that Karl is already blowing the money she gave him on dinner. This is news to Karl so she explains about dropping an envelope with money round to #28... the money Hendrix is using to fund his night out!
Susan is pleased to see the pair of them together and invites them for lunch tomorrow to "celebrate the reunion" which Toadie is readily pleased to accept.
The Pavilion
Hendrix looks like he's definitely had too much to drink when he stumbles as he stands up to go get them some more drink. Roxy suggests a break from the alcohol, and goes to get them water, however before she's had a chance to, they come to the attention of the bouncer because Hendrix has accidentally knocked over some glasses due to his drunken state! While Roxy is trying to diffuse the situation, Hendrix makes things worse by mouthing off to the bouncer and thus finds himself being kicked off the premises!
Amy's apartment
Amy is just about to have a microwave meal for one when Toadie and Melanie pop by. Melanie is shocked to hear that Amy is home alone, although she describes it as having "me time", which the pair don't believe. Thankfully the conversation changes direction when Melanie and Toadie spot the stuff Sheila gave Amy.
AMY: Apparently, my place needs a touch of class... pity that Sheila wouldn't know class if it bit her on the you know what!
TOADIE: I would pay money to watch you tell her that!
Since she plainly doesn't want it, Toadie has a suggestion on what Amy can do with the stuff - Nell could use it as part of her recycling art project for school. "Take it!" she literally pleads with Toadie... which he will on condition she admits that her night with the boys "has been a total clanger!" Initially Amy pleads ignorant, but when Toadie threatens to leave the stuff with her, she quickly admits "its been a disaster" and yes, "the boys bailed on me" but the worst part of the night has been having to have "a frozen meal!"
MELANIE: I knew I should have brought that sage stick!
The Pavilion
Despite being kicked out, Hendrix wants to get back into the venue, even if it means having to climb over the tall gate that is keeping them out. "Stop being an idiot and just come home," Roxy says to him but she'd have been as well to have saved her words as he isn't listening. Who has been listening though is the bouncer that kicked them out! After saying a few choice words, Hendrix tries to barge past the bouncer into the venue but the size of the guy prevents that and he chucks Hendrix out (again) and firmly closes the gates.
Hendrix is so determined to get back into the venue, that he pushes Roxy aside... and she goes over on her ankle and hits her head on a keg as she falls to the ground.
