- Some random women complimenting Aaron and David on how beautiful Isla is, but David dismissing her.
- The same random woman asking Roxy questions about the film festival.
- The random woman appearing in #32 and looking at Isla's cot.
- David and Aaron on the hunt for Isla's missing bunny... which the random woman has!
- Aaron and David planning on a day out with Isla.
- The random woman chatting to someone on the phone, promising that they won't do anything stupid.
- David accidentally bumping into the random woman at the film festival.
- David discovering that Isla has been taken as the fireworks go off at the film festival.
The realisation that someone has taken Isla kicks in immediately and the boys start asking those nearby if they've seen someone with a baby.
Terese orders Paul to go and inform the police before and getting on the walkie-talkie to alert the staff Isla has been kidnapped and that nobody will be allowed to leave without being checked first.
Jane confirms to the newly arrived Chloe that there is no news and is trying to remain upbeat for the sake of the boys.
Just at that, they (and Paul) are accompanied home by Sgt. Rodwell to enable them to make full statements. The officer also wants to talk with Jane and Chloe too.
Aaron takes Sgt. Rodwell through to where he can interview everyone and the others try to work out who could have taken Isla. "It wouldn't have been Nicolette?" Chloe tentatively suggests and David reminds everyone she is in the US, plus Jane is quick to get in that she doesn't think Nicolette would do that.
Harlow reports into Terese that they've so far drawn a blank in searching for Isla at Lassiters (Kyle and Roxy are still checking). Terese is going through the CCTV to see if she can spot anything (she's forwarded it to the police too) and Harlow thinks they need Chloe's help when looking.
Aaron is still chatting with the police and David isn't too impressed the officer is talking to everyone individually.
DAVID: Does he think we're making this stuff up?
"It's just procedure," Paul says to reassure him with and everyone knows that they wouldn't have been involved in what happened.
After Jane heads to #24 (to meet Clive) and Chloe to #22 (to see Terese) David tells Paul they need to come clean over Nicolette not heading to the US. Paul naturally doesn't want that to come out, suggesting instead they say she went but came back and thus "could be anywhere" since "that's all they need to know."
DAVID: Look, you paid her to stay away.
PAUL: That's not going to find her though is it? If its even her that we want?
Harlow's plan is for Chloe to contact the folk that bought tickets for the festival to see if they took any photos of someone at the event with a baby. Chloe thinks it's a great idea and the pair work together to do the job.
Music montage time
As My love plays, we see Jane arrive home and get a comforting hug from Clive. While at #22 the police have finished and after escorting Sgt. Rodwell out of the house, David returns and immediately hugs Aaron.
Harlow and Chloe are busy on the phone contacting folk that went to the film festival.
Terese stops checking the CCTV to see how Paul is doing and while he tells her not to worry about him, when she resumes looking at her laptop, the audience can see he is very worried!
The boys are still in a state of shock and Aaron asks David, "where is she?"
Number 26 (next day)
Kyle and Roxy debate whether to go and see the boys or not but think it's too early plus they'd have heard by now if there had been a development.
The pair are relieved to see Levi walk into the garden... but he is still on cloud 9 after spending the night in a hotel with Amy to be worried about Isla being missing! Levi had no idea about Isla being missing as the pair had their phones switched off, but at least on hearing the news, he does at least look worried and tries to reassure them that stuff like this happens mostly in custody issues.
ROXY: No, that can't be right. Nicolette gave Isla to the boys.
LEVI: People can change their minds though Rox.
KYLE: No, not like this. This is messed up even for Nicolette!
LEVI: The person most likely to take Isla has to be her mum.
David contemplates calling Nicolette but doesn't go through with it. Meanwhile Aaron is debating with himself the question - "why us?"
After exiting the station, Terese runs into Levi as he is heading towards the station and apologises for not being there last night but is here now. What Terese wants is "answers," and the newly arrived Harlow might have one - someone got back to her first thing and the pair look at a photo this person took the previous night.
Aaron wants them to head to the police station but David is reluctant to do so and is about to open up on why when there is a knock at the door. The caller is Levi and he shows them what was sent to Harlow - a photo of the woman who took Isla. "Do you recognise her?" he asks and after they (and us) see the photo, they recognise who it is.
And said someone, aka Britney is in a room somewhere with Isla. She asks if Isla is hungry and then takes down her top to go and breastfeed Isla!!!
Paul, Jane and Levi listen as the boys tell them about the woman in the photo and that they are kicking themselves for not paying too much attention to her. Unfortunately, Britney isn't in the police database, so all they can do is circulate the photograph and hope that someone recognises her. Aaron is angry at their plan, worried that as time goes by, it is fearful that Isla won't be coming back and orders the police to "go find her!"
After being sent the picture by Harlow, Roxy immediately recognised Britney. The pair tell the newly arrived Levi about speaking to her but didn't really pay too much attention before she departed.
Levi admits that this case is hard because he knows the people involved (usually he doesn't) and feels frustrated in what little his is able to do (showing the photo around). Roxy suggests getting the others involved in searching for Britney, which Levi readily agrees to but asks they check in with him so there isn't duplication of where is searched.
This time David does call Nicolette and leaves a voicemail message for her - after asking she doesn't immediately delete it; he tells her about Isla being taken by some woman.
DAVID: Isla is everything to us. We can't lose her. So please, if you know something or you can think of anything that could help, call me back.
Just as David finishes his call, Aaron comes out to the garden and apologises for losing it. "We just have to told tight," David says after the pair hug each other, he's sure "something about this woman will come through."
Both Chloe and Jane look very relieved to know that it wasn't Nicolette who took Isla.
JANE: It would have been easier to imagine Isla with her mother rather than some...
Jane is also worried too that Nicolette doesn't know her daughter is missing... until Chloe admits that she does after she called and left a voicemail explaining things. Chloe has apparently been calling Nicolette and leaving messages (saying hello) despite knowing that Nicolette doesn't want to talk to her.
CHLOE: I doubt she even listens to them. She probably hasn't heard this one.
JANE: At least you tried. She deserves to know what has been happening.
Meanwhile in the kitchen area, Terese and Clive compare notes on how well their other halves are bearing up, both agreeing that the situation is "terrifying."
When checking in with Harlow and Kyle over who to talk to next, he asks about a car that is sitting outside Amy's yard. Neither have noticed it before and the trio head over to look at the car more closely.
Levi notices that the car is unlocked and the keys still in the ignition, while Harlow spots Isla's bunny in the back seat! Reacting quickly, Levi stops the pair from opening the car in case there are fingerprints and gets out his phone to report the development to his Sergeant.
Paul looks relieved to hear David say that despite wanting to, he didn't tell Aaron the full story although does warn that he won't hold anything back if it means Isla can be found. Paul agrees that he won't hold anything back either but does think neither of them "need any more pointless stress" in their lives just now. He also tells David that Leo is on his way back from Sydney too, to provide "moral support."
PAUL: Family should be together for this.
After finishing his call with Levi, Aaron rushes into the kitchen to tell the pair about the car being found and that the person it's registered to (Britney Barnes) matches the woman in the photograph. "Do we know her?" Paul asks and the reply is no, and Aaron adds that the police are trying to find out information about her so she can be tracked down.
AARON: This could be the break we need.
After coming off the phone, Levi updates Harlow with some info about Britney - she's apparently just returned from New York after working there for 2 years and they are wondering whether someone has asked her to take Isla... ie Nicolette!
Kyle arrives with some more info too - Britney called the garage in a panic asking to get her car fixed but in the conversation, a baby wasn't mentioned. Levi thinks Britney has "cut and run" and on weighing up the evidence, thinks she took off on foot and thus could be hiding nearby. He sends Harlow and Kyle off to canvas the area, looking in particular for somewhere that would have been quiet, while he plans to continue going through the car for more evidence.
As he starts going through the stuff in the boot, he comes across a leaflet for antenatal classes. There's something written on the back of the flyer (we don't see it) but whatever it is, he looks concerned.
With the info that the abductor could be associated with Nicolette, Jane, Chloe, Roxy, Kyle and Harlow put on their thinking caps to figure out where Britney could be hiding out. Jane wonders about the school, so she and Chloe head off to check there.
Roxy admits to the others that she feels like she knows Britney but is struggling to recall from where but does wonder if she's actually "seeing connections that aren't there." "That's easy enough to do," Kyle laments however it looks like Roxy has had a 'lightbulb' moment and asks Kyle to follow her, leaving a confused Harlow behind.
After coming home to #24 for her car keys, Jane contemplates whether to update Nicolette or not but Chloe thinks its best to keep quiet until they have "something more concrete." She then wonders if they find Britney, what they will say to her and Jane's immediate reply is to tell her "Isla already has a mother!"
CHLOE: And if she doesn't care?
JANE: We'll persuade her!
CHLOE: And I just can't imagine what sort of person would do that.
Jane doesn't reply to that and instead the pair hastily depart the house.
Levi is checking the place out when he hears a baby cry and after heading in the direction it was coming from, finds Britney who is holding Isla in her arms. Immediately, she looks to flee, but he prevents her from doing that and asks she calms down, he is there to help "and do the best thing for everybody."
Levi begins to use his police training to try and get Britney to hand Isla over to him, telling her that Isla's parents are "petrified" and "scared," and knows she "doesn't want to put them through that."
BRITNEY: They're not her parents.
LEVI: Yes they are Britney. You took this baby from their car. We've got the photos to prove it.
BRITNEY: It doesn't mean they're her parents. I'm her mother. This is my baby!
Jane and Chloe report back to the boys (and Paul) that there was no sign of Britney at the school. She admits too that she isn't buying it that its linked to Nicolette and Paul is the one to immediately agree with her.
Attention is shifted to Levi calling David - he puts it on the speaker so everyone can hear.
Number 32/Community Centre
"Some good news, we've found Isla" Levi tells the gathered over the phone. Cue mass relief at #32 on hearing the news and Aaron asks for details. Levi explains she was found at the Community Centre where Britney had taken refuge at, given she'd nowhere else to go. He confirms that she did hand Isla over and she's been taken to the hospital as a precaution and that a social worker is looking after the wee toot. "Can we come and get her?" David asks and the reply is "soon" as some "loose ends" need tying up first. That last bit has the boys confused, so Aaron seeks clarification and so Levi repeats what Britney told him - that she is Isla's mum.
Kyle is confused why Roxy is looking over the footage Jane recorded at the vineyard - she thinks that is where she's seen Britney before when she was editing the footage for their video. A few seconds later, Roxy calls out "I knew it" after she does indeed spot Britney.
Kyle comes over to where Roxy is sitting with the laptop and we see footage of Britney walking into the vineyard... a pregnant Britney!
Given what Levi said, the boys are utterly confused by it, so Paul suggests they head to the hospital.
The boys are just gathering their stuff up when suddenly in walks Nicolette holding a baby, taking everyone (and the audience!) by surprise!!!
While the boys, Jane and Chloe are shocked... Paul looks like he is ready to kill her given the look in his eyes!!!
Coming up on Neighbours
- Aaron and David looking at an empty crib.
- Paul irate and wanting to blame Nicolette!
- Chloe still shell- shocked!
- Jane speechless!
- Terese at a loss!
- Aaron figuring out how he's going to accept things.
