Aaron is eager to go and check in on a sleeping Isla, as it's his and David's first Father's Day with her. David tells Aaron she'll wake up soon, and then she'll give Aaron his present!
AARON: Did you get me something, did you?
DAVID: No. Isla did!
AARON: Well, it turns out Isla got you something, too. You know she's got awesome taste, right?
DAVID: She does.
Paul comes in with a Father's Day card for them, eager for a cuddle with Isla. At this point, she wakes up and we hear her crying, so Aaron goes to tend to her.
DAVID (awkwardly): Thanks for the card, Dad.
PAUL: That's alright. It's a big day for both of you - it needs to be acknowledged.
DAVID: How's Terese?
PAUL: Yeah, she's still upset. But she'll get there.
David wonders if Terese is planning on getting in touch with Jesse. Paul says that won't happen, saying he 'encouraged her to let it go'. David evidently still feels bad for driving Jesse out of town.
PAUL: We did what we had to do.
DAVID: Did we? (!)
PAUL: If you ever doubt that, you look into your daughter's eyes and realise what you nearly didn't have.
'And what about you?' David asks. Paul says he has enough to occupy him with the film festival right now. David asks Paul how much money he has riding on the festival. Paul replies, 'enough.'
The Flamingo Bar
Melanie has explained her plan to win Toadie back to Susan and Mackenzie, though we as viewers haven't heard the pertinent details. Susan and Mackenzie seem enthusiastic.
MACKENZIE: If this is what you think it will take, I say go for it!
MELANIE: So can I rely on you two for help? Because there is no way I can do this on my own.
SUSAN: Of course, of course. Whatever you need.
MELANIE: Well, the important thing is to remind Toadie, even though we've had our ups and downs, we make each other happy. And at the end of the day, that's what really matters.
Mackenzie thinks that's 'so sweet', admitting she's a 'sucker for a fairytale ending'. But Melanie worries she might be setting herself up for a fall, especially given how Rose has pulled no punches so far in manipulating Toadie.
SUSAN: Ask yourself this. Do you want Toadie to end up with someone who's capable of that sort of manipulation?
MELANIE: You're right. Well - we need to make a list.
Lassiter's Complex
Hendrix is on the phone, leaving a voicemail for Mackenzie, when Karl turns up for his shift at the testicular cancer testing booth. Hendrix explains he can't get hold of Mackenzie; they're supposed to be meeting to finish their zombie film for the festival, and only have a few hours left. Karl tries to convince Hendrix to use his music in the film, but Hendrix isn't biting, and heads off.
David and Aaron walk into the courtyard, with Isla in a pram. David notices the testing booth, and suggests Aaron should get tested. Aaron isn't keen, saying he wants to go and eat. Isla starts crying, and Aaron placates her with the bunny that Brent made for her. But nearby, the mysterious woman, Britney, is watching again. She goes unnoticed, despite (or perhaps because of) her conspicuous sunglasses!
The Flamingo Bar
In the beach area, Rose shows Toadie the big cinema screen that's been set up for the film festival. Toadie is impressed, and thanks her for organising the Father's Day picnic given she had so much else on. Rose notices Toadie's 'World's Best Fish' badge that Melanie and the kids made for him for Father's Day, and he's forced to admit Mel gave it to him.
Displeased to hear this, Rose quickly changes the subject and asks Toadie if he's still coming to the film festival tomorrow night. He confirms he is, and Rose suggests they could 'take advantage of the situation' - but at this point, Paul turns up to hector Rose about organising some profit-making side attractions for the festival. Rose tells him she'll meet him back at the office shortly, and Paul leaves.
TOADIE (to a departing Paul): Really good, thanks for asking!
Toadie asks Rose what she was going to say before Paul interrupted. But Rose seems to have changed her mind about what she was going to say.
ROSE: Actually, it's not that important.
She hurries off to catch up with Paul.
Lassiter's Complex
Outside Harold's, Britney is still watching David, Aaron and Isla, who have just finished lunch at a table. David is still trying to convince Aaron to go to the testicular cancer testing booth. Aaron says David's qualified; he can test Aaron. But David says they should support the booth initiative, and adds that it's always good to get a second opinion.
Aaron still doesn't seem keen, saying David can go and get tested while Aaron waits with Isla.
DAVID: If you're worried about privacy, Karl won't even know it's you.
Aaron insists it's not that, but David is concerned as to why he's so resistant to getting tested. Meanwhile, Britney takes some surreptitious pictures of them on her phone...
AARON: Can we just drop it, please?
DAVID: Not until you tell me why you're being so weird about this.
AARON: I'm not being weird! I just don't want to do it. Is that allowed?
Britney approaches them and says hello.
BRITNEY: I couldn't help noticing your beautiful baby.
DAVID: Yeah, she's a sweetheart.
BRITNEY: What's her name?
DAVID: Isla. Look, I'm really sorry - we're just kind of in the middle of something.
David continues to pressure Aaron into going to the booth.
AARON: David, how many times do I have to tell you? I'm not doing it. I'm taking her home.
Britney watches them as they leave with the pram.

In the boys' bedroom, Aaron is making faces at Isla in her crib, when David comes in. He's still concerned that Aaron didn't want to get tested, and asks him what's going on.
DAVID: For the record, I was only pushing because I love you.
AARON: What if they find something? What if I've got it?
DAVID: Well, that's why we should get tested. The sooner a problem's found, the better the outcome.
AARON: Yeah, I love how you can say that so calmly.
DAVID: Have you found something? Is that what this is about?
David sits down next to him.
AARON: No, it's not, I'm just... I'm just not feeling really lucky at the moment, alright? The way that Mum died, and what Chloe's gonna have to deal with... I don't want to have to deal with anything else, alright? If I've got cancer, I'd rather not know about it.
DAVID: Oh, Boo, I'm sorry. You don't have to get tested now if it's gonna stress you out. You can do it when you're ready. Whenever that is.
AARON: Well, are you going to?
DAVID: It's not just about us anymore. We have to think about Isla.
The Flamingo Bar
Kyle is hanging about when Roxy turns up. She is stressing about various admin tasks for the film festival, but Kyle reminds her they need to finish the final cut of their film. Roxy says she'll find some time for it somehow, and Kyle hugs her. Paul turns up and sincerely hopes they're discussing work. Roxy says Kyle's helping her move the tech equipment; Paul thinks this should've been done earlier.
Roxy admits they're a little behind schedule, but reports that ticket sales are really strong. However, Paul thinks they should be booked out by now, with under a day to go, and abruptly tells her she needs to be pushing the festival on social media.
ROXY: I am, I'm just a little busy here.
PAUL: We are *all* a little busy here. Now just make it work, will you?
Harold's café
Karl comes in and finds Susan and Mackenzie at a table, hard at work on something.
KARL: What's going on here?
SUSAN: Need-to-know basis only, Karl.
Melanie comes in and joins Susan and Mackenzie at the table, telling them she thinks she's got everything she needs for her plan. But Karl is now even more curious as to what's going on.
SUSAN: We're gonna have to tell him. When he gets stubborn like this, he just digs in.
KARL: Hello? Standing here!
MELANIE: Okay, as long as he promises to keep it a secret.
KARL: I'm still here!
Susan explains to Karl that Melanie is planning a Grand Gesture™ to win Toadie back, and that she and Mackenzie are helping. The women rush off, Susan telling Karl as she leaves that she'll explain the rest later.
KARL: The rest? You literally explained nothing!
But Susan's already out of the door.
Lassiter's Lake
At the gazebo, Britney is on her phone, zooming in on the picture she took of David and Aaron earlier - and specifically, the pram. She can see Kyle and Roxy in the distance outside the Flamingo Bar, arguing loudly about when they're going to work on their film. Britney looks like she's had an idea.
The Flamingo Bar
Indoors, Kyle is still trying to convince Roxy to come and help him edit the film. She asks what the problem is with their footage so far.
KYLE: It's boring. And we can't use any of the x-rated stuff with Ned and Amy!
He suggests buying some stock footage online, but Roxy thinks that's cheating. She suggests using some of the footage Jane and Clive filmed at Leo's vineyard instead since they are no longer entering. Roxy goes to text Jane to ask her.
Britney comes in, and asks questions about the film festival - namely, whether it's only on tomorrow, and whether it's family-friendly. Roxy confirms that both are the case.
ROXY: Babies, grandparents, aunts, uncles - there is something for everyone.
Roxy gives her a brochure. Britney says it sounds great, and leaves.

Mackenzie and Melanie come in; Mackenzie is looking for something in the washing that they need for Mel's grand gesture.
MELANIE: You don't think that I'm being an idiot with this? I mean, you would tell me if you did think that, wouldn't you?
MACKENZIE: Uhh... probably not. I mean, sometimes, maybe you have to be an idiot to get what you want.
Mackenzie goes to check the bedrooms for the thing she's looking for. Melanie picks up one of Toadie's shirts that is hanging on a chair and holds it to her face nostalgically. She quickly puts it down as she hears Toadie come in the front door. He's surprised to find Melanie here. She apologises, saying she's just here with Mackenzie who's picking something up.
TOADIE: No need to apologise. It's good to see you.
MELANIE: I can wait outside.
TOADIE: You don't have to -
But Mel's already leaving the house. Mackenzie comes back in, and is also surprised to find Toadie home. She asks where Mel is; Toadie explains she's waiting outside.
TOADIE: I guess that's what happens in a break-up. Everything gets broken. Including the parts you want to keep.
MACKENZIE: Well, she's got a lot going on right now.
Toadie looks regretful as Mackenzie leaves.
Lassiter's Complex
A worried-looking Aaron is waiting outside the testicular cancer testing booth, with Isla in her pram. David emerges, having been checked - he reports that it's quick and painless. Aaron still looks reluctant to go in.
DAVID: If you've changed your mind, it's okay. Come on, let's go home - the booth will be here for a week, we can come back later.
AARON: No, I'm good.
Aaron nervously heads into the booth, and drops his dacks. A gloved hand emerges through the hole in the wall - then afterwards, gives him a thumbs-up. Aaron emerges again.
The Flamingo Bar
Kyle is watching Roxy edit Jane's footage into their film. Kyle is grateful that their film is finally ready, and offers to reward Roxy with a back rub tonight. Karl comes in, and Kyle asks how it's going at the testing booth - Karl says they've been busy today. He notices they're working on their film.
KARL: If you need any music, Vermilion Sky is still available. That's the song we play at the tram.
KYLE: Oh. Is that what that's called (!) (...) It's just, Vermilion Sky doesn't really fit with our theme.
KARL: A song about the sky doesn't fit with a movie about a pigeon *in* the sky?
ROXY: It's not literal, Karl. It's a lot deeper than that.
KARL (grouchy): Let me know if you change your mind.
He walks out again!
The Waterhole
David and Aaron are celebrating their cancer-free testicles with a glass of wine! Aaron is embarrassed as David makes loud jokes about it.
AARON: As much as I don't like your really, really bad jokes, I do want to say thank you for encouraging me to get tested. You're right, it's not just about us anymore, is it?
DAVID: In the best possible way.
They both look adoringly at Isla who's next to them in her pram. As Aaron heads to the toilet, Paul comes in, and asks David how his Father's Day has been. But he's distracted in listening to the answers, as he's caught up in looking at something on his phone. Paul explains he's trying to get an update on booking numbers for the festival, but is having technical problems.
DAVID: Well, everyone we know is going, so I'm sure you can relax.
PAUL: David, as much as I'd love to trust your anecdotal evidence, what I need is hard data. And as for relaxing, well, I'll do that when the loan is paid off.
Lassiter's Complex
Karl and Hendrix are talking about the film festival, but Karl is distracted watching Rose and Toadie, who are having an animatedly flirtatious conversation outside the café. Karl tells Hendrix about Melanie's plan to win Toadie back with a grand gesture, and that Susan and Mackenzie are helping. Hendrix realises that's why he hasn't been able to get hold of Mackenzie.
Karl wants to warn Toadie so he can let Melanie down gently, as he seems invested in Rose now.
KARL: Rose is infinitely better for him than Melanie.
HENDRIX: Hold on, hold on. I should probably tell you something before you get your Team Rose t-shirt printed.
Hendrix starts to explain to Karl about Rose setting up Toadie so he'd see Melanie meeting Justin Buke.
Meanwhile, Toadie and Rose continue their flirtation. She happens to mention that she has a plus-one ticket to the VIP area for the film festival, and says it would be a shame to waste good seats.
ROSE: No pressure. It's like, two friends, eating popcorn.
TOADIE: So it's not a date.
ROSE: No! It's not a date.
TOADIE: What if I wanted it to be a date? Would that be a problem?
ROSE: Uh, are you ready?
TOADIE: Gotta be ready some time, right?
ROSE: Alright, then! I would love to go on a date with you, Jarrod.
They agree it's a date.

Melanie is enthusing about her Grand Gesture to Susan, convinced that Toadie will love whatever it is they've cooked up. Karl listens uncomfortably, and subtly summons Susan over to the kitchen for a whispered chat. He asks why Susan didn't tell him about Rose manipulating Toadie by setting up the meeting between Melanie and Justin. Susan says Melanie asked her not to say anything.
KARL: Toadie needs to know he's being manipulated!
SUSAN: No! Melanie wants Toadie to choose her for the right reasons, not just because Rose is being sneaky. She wants to win him back on her own terms.
Karl decides to take matters into his own hands, and goes over to talk to Melanie. He asks her if the Grand Gesture really needs to be public.
MELANIE: That's the whole idea of a Grand Gesture. I want to show Toadie how committed I am.
KARL: Yeah... it's just, from what I saw today, I think Toadie has moved on with Rose. You might have left your run a bit too late.
Melanie looks forlorn.
The Waterhole
David and Aaron are still with Isla, and Paul has joined them for dinner. Aaron is encouraging Paul to get tested at the booth.
DAVID (to Aaron): Look at you! Recruiting now!
