The Waterhole
Amy and Ned are chatting about their trip to the planetarium when Levi arrives. After Ned heads to the bar for refills, Levi asks if Amy got his text about accompanying him to the launch party of an indoor rock climbing venue. She didn't (her phone was off) but turns the invite down as she is knackered and is already late for a meeting with Chloe.
Lassiters hotel reception
Amy meets up with Chloe and she begs to be able to borrow some non-rostered hotel staff to cover for Flamingo Bar staff that have called in sick, and Chloe promises to see if she can help out.
The Flamingo Bar
Levi is down in the dumps because of Amy's 'rejection' especially after she was out with Ned. Kyle warns that he can't keep comparing things with Ned otherwise "it will do your head in."
The pair are invited to use the now open testicular cancer booth after Karl (and Toadie) come to say its open. Neither get why the booth is there (Karl explains its all to do with demographics) and both turn the invite to go there down, however they do promise to stop by later.
Given he's been 'stood up' by the boys, Karl says to Toadie "if you turn me down, I'll take it personally!" Toadie agrees to participate on condition...
TOADIE: Are your hands warm?!
Karl blows into his cupped hands before rubbing them together!
Lassiters hotel reception
After chatting about staffing arrangements for the film festival, Chloe can see that Terese has other things on her mind. Terese admits she's finding it hard "to focus on work" because of Jesse taking off, something Chloe can totally empathises with her, especially the need for answers. As the pair wrap up their meeting, Terese (on behalf of Paul too) thank her for an idea she had which generates money for Lassiters.
Harlow of course has been listening from the reception desk while they were meeting and Terese sends her on an errand before finishing her shift - unlocking the gates to allow the rubbish to be collected. While she does agree to do the task, Harlow doesn't look too enthralled... especially as it means having to delay a post-work drink with Ned.
NED: Wrong place, wrong time... we've all been there!
Given Harlow is seriously miffed, and fed up seeing Chloe get the praise, she is swithering whether to tell the bosses what she knows so that Chloe sees some ramifications.
Number 26
Levi's night gets better when Amy arrives at the house - she saw how disappointed she said no earlier and has come round to apologise... plus she found it hard to concentrate at work because all she was thinking about was him! Killing two birds with one visit, Amy puts Levi to use in helping her memorise the faces and names of the VIPs coming to the film festival.
The Flamingo Bar
I shouldn't be doing grunt work," Harlow moans to Ned over a post-drink, especially after being the one to come up with so many great ideas lately. "Hopefully it won't be the last good idea you have," he tries to reassure her with plus, given its in the blood, with her being Paul's granddaughter, she just needs to "keep chipping away."
When Chloe comes into the bar for her post-work drink, Harlow asks if she can help out at the bar during the Film Festival. Chloe turns down the offer because she's already swapped shifts around the able to cover everything. Harlow offers to do the re-arranging for her, but Chloe doesn't want any "preferential treatment" given to Harlow, so reject the offer.
(Later)
Harlow's mood still hasn't gotten better over the commercial break. Ned is curious, why she hasn't already played true to form and grassed Chloe up and the answer is that Sheila and Roxy would get into trouble too.
HARLOW: And the staff already hate me enough okay. Can you imagine taking away their free drinks?
Now she's explained things, Ned agrees she's made "the smart move" keeping quite. He then suggests Harlow at least benefits, like everyone else, by having a free drink. She doesn't want to, so he teases her about "too good trying to do the right thing" before then backtracking and telling her to carry on being herself.
Number 30
Ned stops by with something for Amy (a cake "for eating") and is surprised to hear that she is with Levi. When Toadie goes to clean up the mess Hugo made, Ned tells Nell she can have some of the cake later for dessert. Innocently, Nell asks if he is "Amy's boyfriend," which after being taken aback, confirms that he is.
Number 26
"You really suck at this," Levi comments as Amy struggles in remembering who the VIPs are and what their role is! Amy's comeback is that she "doesn't suck," she is simply "distracted" by him! Levi then comes up with a plan - for every 5 (out of 20) photos she gets right, he will remove an item of clothing!
AMY: Levi, that is just cheap objectification of your body!
Despite saying that though, she then quickly adds "I'm in" before proceeding to take his shirt off!!!
Ramsay Street (next day)
It looks like Levi's plan was successful, given the demeanour of the pair as they walk down the street. Ned heads over to invite Amy out for breakfast, at which point Levi hugs her bye before heading back towards #26. Sadly Amy is too busy for breakfast but does at least give him a hug too before heading over to the driveway of #30 for a quick chat with Toadie and Nell.
Amy explains that since it was "a late one" she decided to stay over at #26. Nell brings up that Ned brought round a cake for her and realising he needs a quiet word with Amy, Toadie sends Nell in with the paper to allow that to happen.
He begins by saying that while is willing to be onboard with the plan, he wants them all to be "more mindful" around Nell - given the PDA's the wee lass saw in the street, he'd rather she wasn't "exposed to it like we discussed."
AMY: It's just a couple of hugs Toad.
TOADIE: It's confusing for her when she sees you with both of them at the same time.
Amy wonders if Nell has said something, she hasn't, Toadie is going by the look the wee lass had on her face.
TOADIE: Kids are perceptive. I don't want to argue about this, I'm just asking.
"No problem," Amy mutters once Toadie has left to head inside the house.
The Flamingo Bar
Harlow decides to be brave and do as Ned suggested and claim her free post-work drink. The barman looks very suss at her wanting the freebie, but after convincing him that she is no longer management, he lets her off without paying the $12.
Unfortunately for Harlow, she picked the wrong time to have her freebie, because unknown to her, Terese was standing behind her and saw the whole thing! "Did you pay for that?" Terese asks and Harlow has some extra thinking time to come up with an answer while Terese takes a phonecall!
The Waterhole
Karl is trying to drum up more business for the popular booth by getting Ned to go when he pops into the bar with Toadie. Ned confirms he will visit, then apologises to Toadie for calling round last night before asking if Nell enjoyed the cake (she did).
Karl then starts asking Ned questions about his polyamorous relationship, admitting that he's struggling to get his head round it all including the logistics of their plan. Ned confirms that everything is good and yes, he has noticed that Amy does spend more nights at #26 than at #22, putting it down to her being more comfortable with the Canning's than with Paul! Karl then asks if he gets jealous, which Ned does, but thinks that is natural, however he's going with the attitude of "enjoy it for what it is." "Easier in theory than in practice I'd imagine?" Karl enquires (yes) and suggests Ned ignores what happens when Amy is with Levi, focusing instead on the time she is with him.
The Flamingo Bar
Now she has finished hear call, Terese asks Harlow to "explain yourself." "It's really not what you think," Harlow starts with but struggles to say more. Thankfully Chloe's timely arrival has her explaining the "staff perks" to Terese - she promised Harlow a couple of free drinks as a thank you for the hard work she's put in lately. Terese is confused why Harlow didn't say that and the explanation is being "caught off guard." Thankfully, Terese not only buys Chloe's explanation but agrees that Harlow has worked hard and thus earned the drink. After Terese head off, Harlow at least thanks Chloe for saving her.
CHLOE: I shouldn't have to be saving anyone. Free drinks are limited to one per staff member after your shift. Don't do this again!
Harold's café
Since Amy enjoyed their planetarium visit so much, Ned hands over a pressie so she can reminisce - a photo of The Northern Lights. Levi listens on very jealous over Amy gushing at how Ned is spoiling her before declaring that he prefers "the experience."
NED: Well that's why I got the poster, it reminds you of the experience.
LEVI: But if you're living the moment, you don't really need a reminder.
NED: Well why not have both?!
Cue polite laughter by the guys before both suddenly leave Amy sitting alone... and from the look on her face, she's glad they've gone!
Lassiters Complex
"You're going to get through all the testicles at this rate," Toadie comments after hearing Karl say how great he got on (and how many guys he saw) during his shift. Kyle runs into the pair and confirms that he visited the booth before Karl's shift started.
KARL: You're keen.
TOADIE: An early riser eh?!
Meanwhile, over the other side of the complex, Harlow has told Ned about things backfiring and how Chloe now looks like "the hero."
NED: See this is the universe telling you to stick to with being a good girl who doesn't put a foot out of line.
Harlow disagrees, she's now regretting not grassing Chloe up earlier to save Sheila and Roxy's necks.
HARLOW: Do you know what, I'm done with caring about what people think. From now on, I come first, no-one else.
NED: I hate to break it to you kid, but you're not that selfish.
HARLOW: Try me!
Harold's café
Amy has summoned both Levi and Ned to the café to meet with her. She begins by re-confirming that the guys promised not to compete with one another, to which both deny that they are doing that. Amy seriously disagrees with their thinking and points out she gets "something different from each of you" and thus likes them both equally. Ned admits he's frustrated at her spending more time at #26 than #22.
AMY: The one time that I came to your house, it was like Meet the Fockers with Paul Robinson in the lead role.
Ned gets that one and the trio agree that they are "good" and "back on the same page" with each other.
Number 30
Amy, "the communication queen" comes home and gets the silent treatment from Toadie. He then shows her why - a drawing Nell did where Amy is in the centre holding hands with both Levi and Ned. Toadie then goes onto explain about Ned confirming to Nell that he was Amy's boyfriend, but then seeing Amy in the street being "all over both of them" has resulted in the wee lass asking him lots of questions that he doesn't know how to answer. Amy's suggestion of talking to Nell is quickly dismissed because both Nell and Hugo are "too young to understand whatever it is that you are doing there," plus he asked that she kept them both "out of it."
AMY: Okay, so you can go and date whoever you want. A succession of women, even if they are a one-night-stand and that's not going to confuse them?
TOADIE: I've always protected them from any relationship that isn't serious.
AMY: Levi and Ned and I are serious.
TOADIE: (scoffing) Amy, you're dating two blokes at once. That's not serious, that's the definition for...
AMY: Of what?
TOADIE: ...
AMY: Go on! Say what you want to say.
TOADIE: Okay. You are showing no respect for the rules that I've set down to protect my kids. So right now, I'm thinking that letting you move in is the biggest mistake I've ever made.
