Lassiters Complex
Amy and Ned look far too pleased with themselves after their Café rendezvous. Ned wants to keep the fun going, but they're interrupted by Levi stopping for a chat. He asks how their date went and Ned says the skydiving was a bust, but he and Amy still had a good time. Amy leaves and the boys watch her walk away before Levi asks Ned if he wants to have a beer with him.
Harold's Café
Susan is alarmed when she sees Toadie and Melanie at the counter. The two of them have bought some meals to deliver to David and Aaron. Toadie notices that Susan looks uncomfortable, but Susan says she's just seeking out some alone time. Toadie and Melanie leave her be, but it turns out Susan is there to meet with Dr Anna Buke (the wife of the man Melanie had the affair with). Anna's happy to see Susan and thinks she's there because Susan has good news about her recent MS treatments. "Yes, amongst other things," Susan replies with a grimace.

Levi tells Ned he hasn't heard from Nicolette since he spoke to her the other day and hopes Jane has more luck in Queensland. Ned adds that Paul and the others are doing all they can, but they're all losing it in their own way. "My life's pretty chill right now in comparison - apart from the fierce rivalry between us obviously," Ned jokes. Talk turns to Amy, and Levi discovers what sort of 'fun' she and Ned got up to on their date. Ned feels bad that Levi knows the details and wonders if it's weird, but Levi says he's chill with it.
NED: I'm surprised how chill you are.
LEVI: I mean it's not like either of us can be upset though, right? Amy's great, it's causal, and we both know what we got ourselves into.
Ned agrees and goes into the bar to get them another round of drinks. But in Ned's absence, Levi looks less chill and more downhearted.
Lassiters Complex
Karl tells Hendrix he needs to show discretion and not tell Mackenzie about Melanie's secret. But Hendrix says after what happened with Chloe, he's no longer involving himself in other people's love lives. Noticing the two of them about to enter Harold's (where Susan is still speaking with Anna), Sheila scurries over and deters them from going in. First she lies and says the coffee machine's broken, but then insists the coffee is better at the pub. As soon as she offers them two free lattes, Karl makes a beeline for The Waterhole.
Harold's Café
Once they're finished speaking about Susan's MS treatment, Anna asks what else is going on in Susan's life. Susan pretends they're looking for a new receptionist at school and that one of the applicants used to work with Anna's husband, Justin. As soon as Susan brings up Melanie's name, Anna's face falls. "Do not hire that woman," she warns, before telling Susan that Justin and Melanie had an affair while her marriage was going through a rough patch.
ANNA: I found out about it, and though it wasn't easy, Justin and I decided to try and save our marriage. But she wouldn't leave him alone.
SUSAN: What do you mean?
ANNA: She stalked him. He'd leave for work, she'd be outside the house. Several times I saw her driving down our street late at night, and that wasn't the worst of it. Twice we went out to dinner, only to have her be seated at the table next to ours.
SUSAN: (shocked) Wow.
ANNA: Yeah. Well, I'd had enough and I told her to back off. But she retaliated by breaking into my car and hiding a bag of prawns under the seat. I had to take out a restraining order. Needless to say the smell never came out.
Anna says Melanie should never be allowed to work in a school. Susan thanks her for her candour, and Anna says she's glad it's all in the past. Anna has to head off, but says they should have dinner some time with their spouses. When Anna leaves, Karl suddenly appears and asks Susan why she's meeting up with Doctor Buke.
Lassiters Complex
Levi has admitted to Kyle that he's started to catch feelings for Amy. "Face it, cous, you're about to buy her a car," Kyle retorts, before adding that Sheila's going to flip out. Appearing at her name, Sheila says she's heading home if they want to join her, but the boys say they have other plans. Sheila knows Levi probably has plans with Amy and promises she won't be troubling them anymore since they're only having fun - nothing more serious. Levi thanks his gran then shares an uneasy look with Kyle.
Harold's Café
Susan has divulged to Karl what she learnt about Melanie, but she has no idea what to do with the information now she has it. Karl rubs it in about Susan going behind his back after she was so adamant about them not getting involved in the drama. "Fine, let's just agree that I'm a complete hypocrite and move on, shall we?" Susan sighs.
SUSAN: Toadie has already been through the mill with Rose, with Audrey. The last thing he needs is more drama in his love life.
KARL: I thought that was the reason you gave why we shouldn't say anything in the first place?
SUSAN: But that was when Melanie was having an affair. Come on, a restraining order? That's a whole other kettle of fish.
KARL: Or crustacean as the case may be.
Susan says Melanie could very well go off the rails again if her relationship with Toadie doesn't work out.
The Waterhole
Roxy spots Ned looking glum and wonders if the date with Amy was a dud. But Ned says the date was great, he's just realising he might want more with Amy than a casual fling. He likes spending time with her and wants to get to know her properly. Except if he tells her that she'll more than likely pull the pin on them and keep seeing Levi. But Roxy doesn't think that would happen. She believes Levi also wants something more serious with Amy. "Well then he's in for a fall too," Ned says.
Number 28
Karl and Susan are still bickering about the Melanie situation when Hendrix overhears them. Sheila gets in on the act too when she pops by and realises Karl knows about Susan's coffee catch-up with Anna. Karl's appalled when he finds out Sheila's in the loop, but Susan replies that Sheila was the one who found out about the restraining order. "What restraining order?" Hendrix asks, mouth agape.
KARL: Susan I cannot believe that with something as sensitive as this you go into cahoots with the biggest gossip in the street!
SHEILA: Oh, if it wasn't for the biggest gossip in the street you wouldn't know about Melanie's restraining order in the first place.
KARL: Well how did you get involved anyway?
HENDRIX: I told her - accidentally.
KARL: You said you wouldn't tell anyone!
HENDRIX: Technically I said I wouldn't tell Mackenzie. And I haven't.
SUSAN: Hendrix only knows because you blabbed to him.
KARL: You know I was tricked.
Sheila says they can keep arguing until the cows come home, but the most important thing is to tell Toadie. Susan isn't sure they should, but Sheila is: "If he's going to hitch his wagon to another unhinged woman, he needs to know quick smart or he'll find out the hard way."
Flamingo Bar Exterior
Amy's in a happy mood when she stops to chat with Kyle and Roxy, but things soon take a turn when she finds out from them that Levi and Ned both want more than a casual thing with her. Amy sighs and says she doesn't want her fun to come at the expense of anyone's feelings, but this revelation changes everything. Roxy asks what Amy's going to do about it, Amy says she'll have to either choose between them or end it with both, but she doesn't want to do either of those things.
Number 30
Hovering near the front door, Karl wishes Susan good luck. "We're in this together, don't think for one second that I'm going to do it by myself," Susan spits back. They head in, surprising Toadie who was working on some emails with his headphones in. The K's are about to spill the news to Toad when Melanie returns from the bathroom after washing paint from her hands. She tells them she's been painting some of the Community Centre donation boxes for Toadie to make them more eye-catching. Melanie then heads out to the supermarket.
MELANIE: I told Toadie I would make him Thai prawns for dinner - they're my speciality!
KARL: (murmuring) Yeah I heard that.
Susan places her hand over Karl's in a silent 'shut up' manner as Melanie leaves. Toadie then goes on about how great Melanie is and how they complement one another. She keeps the fun side of him alive, and he balances out her more outrageous side. Toadie's really glad things have worked out between them. Knowing they can't burst Toadie's happy bubble, Susan and Karl can't bring themselves to tell Toadie what they discovered about Melanie.
The Waterhole
Karl tells Susan they did the right thing keeping the information from Toadie as he seems so happy with Melanie. Susan knows Melanie can be impulsive, but if Toadie thinks they bring out the best in each other, who are they to interfere. Karl double checks that they're going to ignore what Anna told Susan. "You and I both know how messy affairs can be," Susan replies, earning a sheepish look from Karl. "I was angry about yours for a very long time, and I'm pretty sure that Anna's still working through her anger about Justin's." Susan says Melanie's behaviour was appalling, but perhaps so was Justin's. Karl says hopefully they've made the right call, and Susan hopes Sheila and Hendrix see it the same way.
Flamingo Bar Exterior
Roxy and Kyle sit around the fire pit and talk about the Ned, Levi and Amy situation. Roxy's sure that Ned's going to end up with Amy, but Kyle thinks Levi will come out on top. So the two of them decide to have a bet and see who the winning guy will be. Levi finds them and says he just got a weird text message from Ned asking him and Amy to meet at Harold's. He notices Roxy and Kyle swap a weird look with each other and gets exasperated, saying he'll figure things out himself.
The Waterhole
Sheila and Hendrix can't believe that Karl and Susan didn't end up telling Toadie the truth. Susan says they're not condoning Melanie's actions, but they don't want to destroy her relationship with Toadie because of something that happened in the past. "He's the happiest I've seen him since Sonya passed away," Susan adds, which finally convinces Sheila that it might be for the best. Only if Susan dishes the dirt on what Melanie did to get the restraining order put on her of course. Hendrix would like to know the details too, but the Kennedys remind them that the only thing that matters is keeping Toadie happy.
Harold's Café
When Levi and Amy arrive in the empty store, Ned locks up and joins them at a table to talk. He admits he would like to have something more serious with Amy, and he believes Levi does too. Amy wishes the casual nature of it all could have lasted a little longer. She understands if they have to end things with her, but hopes they won't ask her to choose between them because she can't. Ned says he wouldn't and Levi adds that she doesn't need that kind of pressure.
NED: I don't actually want to end anything either. There is a third option: you go out with both of us.
AMY: I thought that's what we were doing?
NED: As in a relationship, not just casually dating.
AMY: (startled) Oh - so I would have two boyfriends?
LEVI: Wait, like at the same time?
NED: It's worth talking about.
