- Roxy hoping that Amy isn't successful in her month's trail so she doesn't get the job!
The Flamingo Bar
Roxy is one step ahead of the prep needed for the next day, so that when 'Cowboy' Kyle (a neck scarf is covering his scabbed bits) comes by to escort Roxy home, she allows him to stay in the bar and wait for Roxy rather than kicking him out given he is supposed to be barred!
The charm offensive ends the moment Amy leaves the premises as Roxy is back to her usual self and praying that Amy trips herself up quickly so the "gloves come off." Kyle warns her to be careful about sucking it up to the boss but plotting behind her back.
ROXY: Its frenemy 101. I nailed that subject in Year 9! Amy Greenwood, she doesn't deserve to be the manager, I do, and I think very soon I will be.
Number 22
Given she apparently spent half the night crying, Paul and Terese are surprised to see Harlow arrive for breakfast but the lass is putting her brave face on and doing her best not to think about Brent. We hear that the pair have made a pact not to contact each other for a week and he also made her realise how much she'd been neglecting her friends, so Harlow heads off to see Mackenzie.
Number 30
Realising that the 'Brent stuff' is now over, Hendrix wants to come clean with Harlow. While she does want to say something, Mackenzie knows stuff is still likely to be raw with Harlow so wants to give it a bit more time before telling her. And of course who then walks into the house - Harlow, so Hendrix explains that he is hiding at #30 to avoid Karl and his new hose!
Ramsay Street
When Karl is watering the garden (using said new hose) he spots that there is some doggy poo on the lawn and wastes no time in telling Mrs Punt that it is her dog who is to blame! "I'd like to see you prove it!" she is quick to reply with and his comeback is that Reggie is the only dog in the street! The pair continue to squabble over the dog poo when things then take a turn for the worse - Karl accidentally soaks Mrs Punt with the hose and she squelches off in disgust back towards her own house.
The Flamingo Bar
Amy has been tasked by Paul and Terese to come up with a new promotion, so she is too busy to stop for the coffee Roxy is offering her. Roxy subtly quizzes Amy on what ideas she has (she wants to do something exercised base) and isn't amused that the suggestions seem very familiar! Deciding she's had enough of being questioned, Amy decides to muse outside.
Number 30
Despite saying she was just heading outside; Amy has in fact gone to see Toadie to moan at him about what she has to do for the bosses and Roxy questioning her.
AMY: When Roxy was questioning me, I couldn't tell if she was shocked by my brilliance... or by how much I suck!
Toadie is puzzled by how stressed she appears and reminds Amy that "creative concepts are your jam." Amy is about to open up to him but stops when Mackenzie moves from the kitchen to the living room to listen in better! When she is 'caught', Mackenzie retreats back to the kitchen and we hear Amy give an explanation to Toadie - something happened in Cairns that was so disastrous, "if anyone finds out about it, I will not have a job."
Number 22
Harlow is getting her life back on track by turning down Paul's offer of giving her time off from Lassiters and booking them into an 80s breakout room to repair their bond.
"She will be okay," Terese says to Paul after Harlow heads off but he doesn't think that will happen as long as she keeps her feelings bottled up.
TERESE: You're just looking for cracks because you feel guilty.
PAUL: Thanks for the reminder!
TERESE: Hey, she's trying to repair things with you. I say embrace it!
Ramsay Street
Melanie is coming up with some suggestions she'd like to pass onto Amy when Karl catches up with them to say what has been delivered to #28, all over the pathway - a huge pile of manure!
KARL: And I know who did it too... Vera Punt!
After a puzzled Toadie asks why, Karl explains to them about the argument and spraying her with water. Melanie doesn't think what happened warranted doing that, and thinks a pupil is more likely to blame. Karl thinks otherwise and warns "she's not going to get away with it!"
TOADIE: I smell trouble!
Lassiters Brasserie/Lassiters Complex
Amy arrives for her meeting with the bosses and they are impressed with her bold ideas.
Someone at the other side of the complex doesn't look too happy at the meeting - Roxy! And it looks like she's found a fellow conspirator too - Mackenzie, who can't believe Amy got the job after the uniform debacle! Mackenzie mentions the snippet of conversation she overheard at #30 to Roxy before a text arrives and she rushes off.
Harold's café
The text Mackenzie got was to go meet Hendrix (before she goes sees Harlow) as he thinks that they can tell her about them. While both want to be together, she realises "its not going to be fun for Harlow" seeing them together while she is alone and thus wants to wait a bit longer. She promises Hendrix that she won't wait forever to tell Harlow because she wants them to be a couple "just as much as you do."
Ramsay Street
Mrs Punt is mowing the nature strip outside #34, when Karl arrives to return her pressie! She denies being the one to send it to him and the pair are arguing so much that Paul comes over to try and intervene... however all it results in is him having a handful of manure being thrown at him!
The Waterhole
Given she forgot about Mackenzie's birthday, Harlow is keen forget about Brent and to make today the birthday take 2, starting by having the birthday girl picking something from the cocktail list. Mackenzie thinks that Harlow needs to talk about Brent, but she knows "Brent's gone" and that she needs "to focus on the more important things in her life" namely "friendships and pancakes!" Mackenzie is all up for that but lies that she is helping Toadie rather than head to #22 and watch junk TV.
Number 30
Paul drops in to see the neighbourhood lawyer to have Mrs Punt "contained" for being a threat to everyone! Toadie tries to say that what happened was just an accident but Paul is now in revenge mode! He wants to order from Sonya's nursery "one truckload of manure to be dumped right on Vera Punt's front lawn" and to take legal against Mrs Punt!
MELANIE: What for, assault with a deadly horse pat?!
PAUL: Vera has made too much money on that Lassiters tripping incident and I want it back!
Toadie refuses to assist with both requests because Mrs Punt is one of the neighbours! "I knew it was a waste of time coming here!" Paul says in disgust while walking out of the house!
MELANIE: Don't tell me that karma isn't real! This is better than I ever could have imagined.
TOADIE: Have you forgotten what this street is like?! Things escalate quickly here, especially when Paul Robinson's involved!
MELANIE: He's not that scary!
TOADIE: He's The Terminator in a suit! No, you mark my words, whoever started this manure war is going down big time.
The Flamingo Bar
Amy is showing Terese where she plans to have the bar's merchandise on sale as well as having Jesse model the stuff too.
Not surprisingly Roxy isn't amused and when she goes over to Kyle's table, comments that she wishes they sold tote bags so she could put one over Amy's head! She also tells Kyle about what she's dug up about Amy on the internet - she was hired to refurbish and relaunch a hotel... but Amy hasn't mentioned working at this place at all.
KYLE: I used to be a nude model... you don't hear me going on about that!
"Well you should, because you're sexy," is her reply before getting back to dissing Amy and telling him about what Mackenzie said to her - that something bad happened to Amy in Cairns.
Ramsay Street
Paul and Karl (with Toadie and Melanie in the background) watch on as a truck reverses into Mrs Punt's driveway.
KARL: You know, I have gazed at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, seen a beam of light strike the hand of God and yet somehow, this is more satisfying.
Paul and Karl share a cheeky grin at each other as Mrs Punt yells to get the truck out of her driveway!
PAUL: Fat chance! The way that you've been slinging manure around this street, it's only right that you cop some too!
Paul then signals to the driver to let the load go and Mrs Punt yells a frantic "STOP" to get the driver to halt. She admits to letting the dog poo over Karl's garden and that the thrown manure was meant for Karl, not Paul.
In the background, Toadie says to Melanie for them to go inside, but rather than do that, she walks towards where Paul and Karl are standing.
PAUL: You consider this an official warning from the residents of Ramsay Street. Anything you serve to us, comes back ten-fold.
Mrs Punt denies that she had anything to do with the manure over Karl's path and suddenly Melanie pipes up to back Mrs Punt up.
MELANIE: She is not responsible.
PAUL: Then who is?
"I am," Melanie pipes up then explains that she left a manure pressie for Angela Lane thinking she was the one who cost Toadie the Mr Carmello case... she has obviously thought it came from Karl and thus "has returned it."
Karl and Paul aren't amused at what Melanie did and everyone scoffs when Mrs Punt demands an apology! It is Toadie who tactfully suggests everyone walks away "before things get nasty."
Lassiters Complex/Rebecchi Law
Even after walking to the complex, Toadie is still in shock at what Melanie did to say something! Melanie admits that she shouldn't have pranked Angela, even if she thought she had justification, and thought things with Karl and Paul would "fizzle out" hence keeping quiet for as long as she did.
TOADIE: Told you they wouldn't!
Melanie isn't too sure whether he is mad at her or not but the first time, Toadie has realised that he isn't the immature one in a relationship, but rather the adult!
MELANIE: Wow, that has never happened to me... must be wild!
Number 30
Mackenzie tells Hendrix about how great it was hanging out "just like old times" with Harlow again. Hendrix takes this as "a good sign" Harlow "can't be that messed up" given the fun the pair had.
The pair joke at Hendrix's suggestion of what their first official date would be - a romantic walk to the tattoo parlour so they could have their respective names tattooed on each other's bodies!
HENDRIX: I really want to kiss you now.
Mackenzie then presents her hand to him, which he duly kisses, before then going in to start pashing... however they don't get that far because a visitor has arrived - Harlow!
