An upset Dipi is telling Shane about her 'heartbreaking' conversation with Nell at Sonya's mural.
DIPI: She clearly meant it, cos she hasn't stopped crying since she came home.
Toadie and Yashvi come in.
TOADIE: She is fine. She'll come around.
DIPI: She shouldn't have to come around. I can't believe we ever thought this was gonna be okay.
YASHVI: Mum...
DIPI: No. She's had enough loss in her life. We're not going to Sydney.
SHANE: Dipi, come on. I know you're upset -
DIPI: No, this is not negotiable. Nell needs us, so we're staying. End of story.
The Waterhole
Karl, Susan, Bea and Hendrix are having a meal out. Bea is telling the family of her plans to teach Roxy and Sheila Krav Maga moves.
HENDRIX: Can I come? I need a good laugh.
BEA: Haha, yeah, we need a punching bag!
Karl gets a text from David, telling him that Olivia's been discharged from hospital. Bea thinks this is great, as it means her injuries can't be that serious. But Karl still seems worried. Levi comes in and sees them, but walks straight to the bar - evidently things are still tense between him and Bea.
SUSAN: Don't feel as though you can't invite him over, or anything. We understand he's just doing his job.
HENDRIX: Olivia doesn't seriously think that you pushed her, right? She's got to be lying her head off.
KARL: She was genuinely scared of me in the hospital. I just wish I could talk to her - tell her I never intended to frighten her. If I had any part in what happened, I have to take responsibility for it.
SUSAN: Karl, no - let Toadie handle it. Please, promise me you won't try and see her. Karl, come on, promise me.
KARL: Yeah, of course. I promise.
No 30
Shane, Dipi, Mackenzie and Yashvi are at the table when Toadie comes in. He's just taken Nell to a playdate, and reports that she's 'happy as a pig in mud'.
TOADIE: I would like to talk about last night. I hate the idea of you guys changing your plans just because Nell had a bit of a wobble.
DIPI: Well, it was a bit more than a wobble, Toad.
Toadie says that he's not going to tell Nell anything about Dipi and Shane staying, until they've at least had a chance to stop and think about it.
DIPI: I don't need to think. We've both made our decision. We're meeting with Terese today to talk about renewing the lease.
YASHVI: But didn't Paul say you missed the deadline?
SHANE: Nah, that's just Robinson scare tactics. Terese is up for talking about it, but we've gotta move quick.
YASHVI: But what about Jay and Kirsh? They can't stop talking about living together as a family again. Don't they count, too?
DIPI: Of course they do, sweetheart. No matter what decision we make, someone is gonna be disappointed. But the child that needs us most right now is Nell. And I'm not gonna let her down.

In the garden, Kyle watches uncomfortably as Bea trains Sheila and Roxy in the art of Krav Maga.
SHEILA: So, when can we lay some hurt on someone?
BEA: Sheila! So bloodthirsty!
ROXY: Yeah, no, I'm with Sheila. I want to learn how to maim!
KYLE: Woah, go easy. We don't wanna take anyone's eye out!
ROXY: I wanna take eyes out.
SHEILA: Yeah! And groins! Let's not forget groins!
Sheila makes a kneeing motion and laughs. Kyle looks worried, as Bea says to him...
BEA: They're so alike, it's like they share the same brain!
KYLE: Not funny.
BEA (laughs): Once you've seen it, you can't un-see it. Am I right?
Kyle looks despairing. Levi arrives, just as Bea is finishing up the session. Sheila and Roxy, who finish up roleplaying a male-groin-kneeing scenario, are keen for another session soon. As the others move to the patio, Levi joins Bea and asks how Karl's doing. She says he's pretty stressed, for obvious reasons.
LEVI: I'm sorry to hear that.
BEA: Please tell me someone's investigating Olivia's claim, because this is insane.
LEVI: Babe, you know I can't talk about the case.
BEA: But you just brought it up, Levi!
Annoyed with him, Bea goes to leave, saying she'll speak to him later.
Lassiter's Complex
Hendrix is trying to cheer up a distracted Karl with jokes about Karl's cycling gear, but it isn't working. Karl admits he's thinking of all the time he's going to have on his hands while he's not able to attend work, due to Olivia's claims. Hendrix suggests Karl could help out at the tram, as he's sure Kyle would appreciate the help.
Olivia appears at the other side of the courtyard, exiting the hotel. Karl remarks that she doesn't seem to be in pain, and has no visible bruising.
KARL: Is it a bad idea to talk to her?
HENDRIX: Depends what you want to say.
KARL: Well, just that I'm sorry if my actions made her feel like she was in danger.
HENDRIX: She was the one that was harassing Susan. If she didn't go down there, you wouldn't have gone off at her.
But Karl is still worried that he let his temper get away from him, and he wants to take responsibility for his part in what happened, even though they were both at fault. Hendrix looks thoughtful.
Ramsay Street
Outside No 30, Yashvi and Mackenzie are discussing Shane and Dipi's U-turn on moving to Sydney. Yashvi admits she thinks Shane is disappointed they're not going. The girls agree they want Dipi and Shane to do what's right for them. They join Toadie, who is loading things into the car.
TOADIE: It's not over yet. We just need to find a way to get through to Dipi.
YASHVI: Did you see her face? She went into full mama bear mode.
TOADIE: Okay, I will speak to Shane and see if he can get through to her.
YASHVI: No, I don't want to put any pressure on their relationship. They only just got back together.
TOADIE: True.
MACKENZIE: Maybe we're looking at this from the wrong angle.
The Waterhole
Olivia is at a table when Hendrix comes over to talk. She immediately says she's not interested in hearing anything to do with the Kennedys.
HENDRIX: Karl feels terrible about what happened.
OLIVIA: Imagine how I feel after being pushed down a flight of stairs.
HENDRIX: He really wants a chance to talk to you about it, face to face (...) Karl's a good guy, and you know he is.
OLIVIA: I've got a brain injury that disagrees.
HENDRIX: Oh, come on, Olivia. You were his friend. His guilt is killing him over what happened to you.
OLIVIA: His guilt? (...) Does that mean he's ready to admit what he's done?
HENDRIX: That means that he's... he feels bad about his part in it.
OLIVIA: And what part exactly is that?
HENDRIX: You can ask him yourself.
OLIVIA: Let's say I agree to this meeting. There'd be rules. And if I want to end the meeting at any point, it ends. No questions asked.
HENDRIX: You call the shots. Absolutely.
OLIVIA: Tell Karl I'll talk to him.
Flamingo Bar
Levi and Kyle are playing cricket in the beach area outside the bar, discussing Levi's attempts to 'protect' Bea over the Karl saga. Sheila and Roxy turn up, together again much to Kyle's dismay! Sheila notices a guy in a lifeguard outfit on a platform across the lake. We learn that this is Jesse, a Flamingo Bar employee.
SHEILA: A lifeguard? And it's not even a proper beach!
ROXY: It's more of a ceremonial role. He has to juggle mixing cocktails and saving lives. I told Auntie T it would be great for business.
Kyle puts on a fake smile and asks Sheila what she's doing here; Roxy says she invited her. Levi leaves Kyle to his 'romantic' time with Roxy - and Sheila! Kyle is unimpressed.
Jesse the 'lifeguard' comes over to join them.
JESSE: Hey, Rikki!
ROXY: Roxy. But that's okay.
Jesse goes to fetch them another deckchair, and Sheila, who seems quite taken with him, goes to help. This leaves Kyle to talk to Roxy.
KYLE: I'm really glad that you and Gran are getting along so well, but do you reckon you could pull it back a bit?
ROXY: What... why?
KYLE: Well, it just seems like you're joined at the hip at the moment, you know? I feel like it's been ages since we've had time together, just the two of us.
ROXY: Oh, hey, no, that's not true!
KYLE: She's always around (...) I'm just saying it'd be nice if we could have some 'us' time.
Jesse returns with a third deckchair for Sheila, which Kyle instructs him to put 'further away'! But Roxy insists it's fine near theirs.
ROXY: Are you seriously jealous of your own grandmother?
KYLE: No!
ROXY: Then I don't see what the problem is. Unless there's something else going on?
KYLE: Nah. Why would there be?
But Kyle still looks disgruntled.
Lassiter's Complex
Dipi and Shane are having a coffee outside the hotel. They're talking about the lease at Harold's, which they're about to renew; Terese has said it has to be a two-year contract if they are to go ahead.
SHANE: All the more reason for us to think seriously before we sign anything.
DIPI: The way I see it, Puff, we don't have a choice.
SHANE: I know you feel that way right now, but that could change in a few days.
DIPI: ... Nell has to come first.
SHANE: ... You're right.
DIPI: Thank you.
SHANE: We're in this together, huh?
They decide to head in for their meeting with Terese.

Over tea and biccies in the garden, Susan asks Bea if she's had a chance to catch up with Levi. Bea admits she's struggling to know what to say to him right now.
SUSAN: Don't let this business with Olivia spoil what you two have.
BEA: Yeah, but he knows Karl. He knows that there's no way he'd push a woman down a flight of stairs.
SUSAN: He's just following the law. He has to, it's his job.
BEA: I just hate that he's putting his job before...
SUSAN: You? Before you and your family?
BEA: Yeah. I just wish he wasn't so... police-y.
SUSAN (laughs): Well, then, he wouldn't be the person you love, would he?
Karl has been pottering around them getting jobs done, and Hendrix now joins them. He explains that Olivia has agreed to talk things through with Karl, as long as it's in public and she can pull out at any time. Bea and Susan think it's a bad idea; Karl is still keen to 'take ownership' of his part in the accident, but agrees with Susan it's a mistake. Susan U-turns.
SUSAN: What if I went with you? If I came with you, then at least you've got a witness.
No 30
Toadie is reading on the couch, while Mackenzie and Yashvi are playing beads with Nell. Mackenzie asks how Nell's playdate went; it was good, Nell replies.
MACKENZIE (to Nell): You know, I felt really sad when I heard about Shane and Dipi leaving, too.
NELL: I don't want them to go.
MACKENZIE: Yeah. It's hard when people go away. Was it a long time since you last saw your friend?
NELL: (nods)
MACKENZIE: And when you saw her, I bet you ran up to her and gave her a big hug, right?
NELL: (nods)
MACKENZIE: That's because you missed her. And it makes it even better when you can see each other again. It'll be the same with Auntie Dipi.
NELL: Could I bunk with Kirsha?
YASHVI: Are you kidding?! She'd love that.
Cheered by this, Nell takes Yashvi to her room to fetch another box of beads.
TOADIE: You are officially the Nell whisperer!
MACKENZIE: ... I know what it's like to lose your mum. It's important to feel like you can talk to someone when you need them.
TOADIE: Dipi's been that person for you, hasn't she?
MACKENZIE: ... I'm really happy for Shane and Dipi. I think this move will be really good for them.
But Toadie can tell Mackenzie feels conflicted about it.
TOADIE: Okay - if ever you need anyone, you know you can come to me, right?
MACKENZIE: Does... does that mean you'd be fine with me staying?
TOADIE: Yeah! Of course! Don't tell me that you thought that I'd boot you out?!
MACKENZIE: Shane and Dipi were the ones who invited me to stay here. I... I thought maybe you'd want your house back.
TOADIE: Oh, my gosh. How long have you been sitting on this for? Alright, for the record - we love you, and we want you to stay here for as long as you are happy to stay here. And if ever you need some advice, or a shoulder to cry on - or just, you know, have a laugh - I'm here for you, okay? I'm not Dipi. I do have my own unique charms, though.
Moved to the point of tears by all this, Mackenzie thanks Toadie, and she smiles as they share a big hug.
Harold's Café
Karl and Susan are at a table with Olivia.
OLIVIA: I'm not withdrawing my complaint, if that's what this is about.
KARL: No, I'm not gonna ask you to do that.
OLIVIA: Good.
KARL: I'm sure you could tell how shocked I was at your accusation, because I didn't push you down those stairs.
OLIVIA: It's gonna be a very short conversation if that's all you've got to say.
SUSAN: Maybe you should just hear him out.
OLIVIA: I didn't agree to you being here, Susan, so we're clear.
KARL: Let's just get this done, huh? Olivia, I didn't push you down the stairs, but I have reflected a lot on that moment, and I acknowledge I was very angry and worked up.
OLIVIA: So you're taking responsibility?
SUSAN (to Karl): Maybe you've said enough.
KARL: No, it's alright, darling (...) I accept responsibility for my part in what happened. I feel terrible, and guilty, and I'm sorry if I made you feel so scared you fell down those stairs.
Olivia smirks.
Flamingo Bar
A musical montage ensues. Sheila and Roxy are playing frisbee in the beach area with Jesse the 'lifeguard', while Kyle stands by glumly, watching them as he sips a beer. They move on to taking photos of Jesse as he runs, slow-motion across the sand with his surfboard, Baywatch-style, and then Jesse, Roxy and Sheila pose for selfies together. Kyle continues to look put out.
JESSE: So, how am I doing? The job description was a little vague.
SHEILA: Uh, you don't need a job description to fluff around a beach, love.
JESSE: I did warn Tereese that I can't actually swim.
ROXY: Terese. But that's okay, don't worry. You don't need to swim.
JESSE: Terese, right. And she's married to Pete?
SHEILA: Paul. But you can call him Pete - he'd really love that.
JESSE: Got it. I've never been great at remembering names.
SHEILA: Really? (!)
As Jesse heads back to work, Sheila remarks that he's 'not the sharpest fish in the sea'.
ROXY: Yeah, he's a bit of a Dory fish. But he's great value.
Kyle rejoins them, and asks if Roxy wants to play some frisbee, but Sheila advocates just laying back and enjoying the day, and Roxy declares she's 'with Mama' on this. Roxy goes to fetch drinks from Jesse. Noting Kyle looks displeased, Sheila says...
SHEILA: Oh, love, she's only got eyes for you.
KYLE: Yeah, but you're blocking the view.
SHEILA: Excuse me?!
KYLE: You're hogging all our time together!
SHEILA: I'm not hogging anything!
KYLE: You're here, aren't you?
SHEILA: I was invited!
KYLE: Well, you didn't have to say yes! Every time I turn around, there you are, tagging along.
SHEILA: Oh, hold on a second!
KYLE: I'm so sick of it, Roxy!
Awkward silence.
SHEILA: Did you just call me Roxy?
KYLE: Don't try and change the subject! Roxy is my girlfriend, not yours. So I just want to spend some alone time together. So just back off.
Kyle marches off, and Sheila looks amused... and a little flattered!
Harold's Café
The meeting between Olivia and the Kennedys continues.
OLIVIA: You did scare me. I never would've believed you were capable of that kind of rage.
KARL: Well, I was frustrated. I mean, we asked you repeatedly to stay away from our family, and there you were at the school, waiting to ambush Susan.
OLIVIA: That sounds a lot like victim-blaming to me.
SUSAN: He's not making an excuse, he's just explaining.
OLIVIA: It still implies that I was responsible for his behaviour, which is patently not the case. I didn't make him lose his temper. He's the one who chose to do that.
Susan suggests they should cut the meeting short as Olivia's only just out of hospital. She says she does have a bit of a headache. A worried Karl offers her medical advice, which she thanks him for.
OLIVIA: And thank you for your concern. It means a lot.
KARL: Well, thank you for listening.
Olivia walks away, smiling to herself. Karl seems hopeful that the meeting has gone well.
KARL: She listened, and she accepted my apology. Hopefully she'll withdraw the complaint.
No 30
Nell is on the sofa with Dipi and Shane, while Mackenzie and Toadie are nearby.
NELL: Daddy promised we can have lots of visits, so it's okay if you go to Sydney.
DIPI: Thank you, sweetheart, that's very generous of you.
Dipi kisses Nell. Toadie suggests they draw up a contract to make it official, and Nell and Mackenzie go off to her room to fetch pencils so they can get started drawing it up!
SHANE: So, how are you feeling?
DIPI: Relieved.
SHANE: So, does this change anything?
DIPI: She really seemed okay with that, didn't she?
TOADIE: Yeah. She is going to be fine.
SHANE: So, are we moving to Sydney, or what?
DIPI: I think we are!
They decide to call Kirsha and Jay and tell them the good news.
DIPI: Oh, but... we just signed a two-year lease to the café.
SHANE: Oh, yeah. Kinda forgot about that.
Dipi says she'll sort it out with Terese; she's sure she'd be happy to tear up the lease contract.

In the garden, Susan and Karl are reporting back to Bea and Hendrix about the meeting with Olivia, which went better than Karl 'thought it would'. Famous last words, as Levi arrives, in uniform.
LEVI: Olivia's given us a fresh statement, claiming that you confessed to pushing her down the stairs.
SUSAN: What?!
LEVI: Is that true?
KARL: Of course it's not!
SUSAN: It's not even close to true!
KARL: (...) She agreed to talk to me, and, uh... well, I apologised, and I took responsibility for my part in her fall.
LEVI: Can you explain what you mean by that?
KARL: Well, I acknowledged I was angry when I found her waiting for Susan, and my behaviour may have caused her to feel unsafe. But I didn't lay a finger on her.
LEVI: So you believe that she was scared enough that, in trying to escape, she fell down the stairs?
KARL: Well, I suppose that must be what happened. Because she did fall, didn't she?
LEVI: Karl Kennedy, I'm placing you under arrest for assault (...) You do not have to say anything, but it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something you later rely on in court. Anything you say may be given in evidence.
Levi handcuffs a horrified Karl.
