Ned's studio
There's a knock at the door, so Ned quickly puts his clothes on(!) It's Yashvi. She admires his studio space and asks him to pick up the cake for the 20th Anniversary party tomorrow. She thinks Ned is acting a bit weird and he's clearly a bit awkward.

Toadie calls Stonie to ask after Shane. Apparently Shane is "out for a walk". Dipi is frustrated that Shane is not answering her calls. Toadie assures her that Shane won't let her down and will be back for their anniversary.

DIPI: I just never thought we'd spend our 20th like this.

Sheila asks Roxy and Kyle to try out some of her food for the anniversary party. Kyle thinks the whole thing is a bit weird - Shane has gone out of town because he's so stressed, so perhaps it's not the time for a party.

Levi asks if he can bring a date to the party. He momentarily "forgets" that he has a girlfriend in Bea! Kyle and Roxy say they're not coming anyway as they have plans, but Sheila talks them into calling by.

Garden of No.22
Yashvi tells Ned that she's found a great space for his exhibition and she shows him on her phone. However, it's very expensive and Ned looks dejected. Paul comes over and Ned explains he's entering the Osborne Prize to get his work out there. Paul thinks he should concentrate on The Hive and get some money made.

Shane has apparently texted Dipi to say that he needs more time.

DIPI: What if he doesn't turn up tomorrow? He's giving us nothing. If he's depressed or has anxiety, he needs to come home so we can help him get treatment.
TOADIE: You're right. Tell him to come home.
DIPI: I'll text him now.

Roxy is still very upset about what happened with Shane and doesn't want to go to the anniversary dinner. She hopes that Shane can get help, but it's too much for her to be friends with him at the moment.

A shed on a farm, a long way from Colac
Shane is going cold turkey on a camp bed.

Richie and Mackenzie are planning the anniversary party. She explains that Shane has gone away for a few days. Richie looks a bit concerned.

Waterhole (Outside)
Ned has rung the exhibition people to ask them to do him a deal.

Yashvi sees Levi talking to a pretty blonde woman and glowers at him. She goes over to remind him that he has a girlfriend, and the blonde makes a sharp exit. Yashvi berates Levi for flirting with "random hotties"

Dipi and Toadie are worried about Shane. Toadie has spoken to his mother and she didn't mention Shane at all - which is very unlike her. Richie is sitting on the sofa and overhears their conversation.

DIPI: So...are you saying he's lying about being at Stonie's?
TOADIE: I don't know.
DIPI: I hate this.

Toadie texts Shane to ask where he is.

Kyle and Roxy are playing cards when her phone rings. She's surprised to see that it's Shane and thinks there must be something wrong, so rings him back.

ROXY: Shane...
SHANE: Rox...Rox, please don't hang up! I'm sorry to call like this...I'm sorry for what I did to you, I'm sorry for what I said, I just...I just needs someone to talk to. Things are bad, things are really bad.
ROXY: How bad?
SHANE: I'm trying to wean myself off the drugs, but...I can't do it, it's too hard. I can't do it on my own!
ROXY: You're coming back tomorrow and your family can help you get professional help. Which you should have gotten in the first place.
SHANE: I'm not coming back tomorrow.
ROXY: What?
SHANE: They can't see me like this. They can't know what I've done.
ROXY: You're going to let them down again and you're not even going to tell them why?
SHANE:(crying) I know, I know...I'm sorry. I'm sorry, don't judge me please, please. I'm going to do something stupid. I think I'm going to do something stupid.
ROXY: What's your address in Colac?
SHANE: I'm not in Colac, I'm in Bourke.
ROXY: Bourke, your home town?
SHANE: Can I text you the address? Can you come?! Please.

Roxy hangs up and Kyle just looks at her.

Garden of No.22
Yashvi is still moaning to Ned about Levi's flirting. She wonders whether to tell Bea.

Ned's exhibition has text back and won't give him a deal on the fees. He wonders if he's getting ahead of himself doing an exhibition at all, but Yashvi encourages him - he should do whatever it takes to get the money.

Richie is looking rather guilty and offers to help Dipi to wash up. Meanwhile, Mackenzie is surprised to see Toadie looking agitated.

In the kitchen, Dipi tells Richie that Shane is just a bit stresesd.

DIPI: You don't have to worry about him, Richie, he's fine.

Richie goes through to the living room where Mackenzie excitedly tells him about the cabaret singer she's booked. Richie isn't sure whether Shane will be up for it after having a nervous breakdown, but Mackenzie is full steam ahead.

Waterhole
Levi leaves a message on Bea's answerphone to tell her they need to "call things off". Sheila keeps walking past and interrupting him!

No.22
Roxy is packing a few things and is preparing to drive overnight to New South Wales to help Shane.

KYLE: Babe, I love how kind and sweet you are, but you don't have to do this. He's not your responsibility.
ROXY: That's not what this is about, OK, you just don't understand. This is not because he's stressed, it's not because he's depressed, it's something way worse. He has been using drugs.
KYLE: What? What sort of drugs?
ROXY: Speed.
KYLE: Are you serious?
ROXY: Yeah. He started taking them just so he could do all-nighters studying and then it got out of hand. He is in so much trouble, Kyle.
KYLE: How long have you know?
ROXY: I've known for a while.
KYLE: Why the hell didn't you say anything?
ROXY: Because he asked me not to. And he promised me that he would stop and I believed him.
KYLE: And then he attacked you?!
ROXY: ...
KYLE: Roxy, you didn't even tell me!
ROXY: I know. I stuffed up, but we can deal with that later. I have to go.

She picks up her bag.

KYLE: How can I possibly let you go now?!
ROXY: It's not your decision to make and you didn't hear him on the phone. How could I ever look at Dipi and Yashvi again if something happens to him?
KYLE: And what if something happens to you? You don't know what kind of state he'll be in, he could be dangerous.

(he pauses)

KYLE: I'm coming with.
ROXY: No...that's a stupid idea.
KYLE: No, the stupid idea is you going out there on your own, OK? Rox, I'll be there as back-up.

A silence descends, during which Toadie knocks on the door.

KYLE: Hello, mate. (To Roxy, quietly) It's time to tell him.
TOADIE: Sorry to pop over so late, um, just hoping to have a chat with you, Rox.
ROXY: What's up?
TOADIE: I know this is awkward, considering what Shane has done...um...but I was wondering if you had heard from him.
ROXY: Why are you asking me?
TOADIE: Well, he's not answering Dipi's calls. And this trip to Colac isn't adding up, so...I was just starting to think that he's lying to us about something.

The Hive
Paul drops buy to see how Ned is getting on with his marketing plan. He mocks him a bit, which makes Ned determined to make enough money for his exhibition. When Paul has gone, Ned strips off and takes the photos of himself. Then he sends the to his Fandangle subscriber.

Bourke, the following morning
SHANE:(on the phone) Roxy, Rox, just pick up, pick up, pick up...I just...I just need to know you're on the way cos...I think...I think I've done this the wrong way, I think I need to go a bit slower, or maybe faster...I should have gone faster because...but I don't know, maybe, I don't know, I just need to think a bit more clearly...I just need a second, just to clear my head and then come up with a better plan...just, just call me or text me because I need to know that you're coming...cos...

He hangs up. He is shaking and sweating.

Just then someone comes to the door.

SHANE: Rox...

But, it's Toadie. Roxy has told him everything and he's come in her place.
