Paul, Terese, Harlow, Roxy and Ned are having a hearty breakfast. Paul offers Harlow a driving lesson, but she'd rather go with Terese.

NED:(quietly, to Harlow) Hey, you know once you've been disappointed by Paul, you're officially part of the family? Happens to all of us!

Roxy invites Harlow to go to Harold's with her, but she'd rather stay in.

Aaron calls Paul about the stuff at the shed. He looks panicked and tells Aaron not to touch them - he's on his way.

No.26
Roxy pops round to see Kyle. She pretends to introduce herself to him for the first time. He apologises for being flaky recently.

Roxy tells him that her plan to help Mackenzie didn't work out. He offers to make it up to her for missing dinner - he'll let her know the details later.

The Shed
Aaron insists that Paul tells him what's in the boxes. Paul is forced to admit that it's stolen goods.

Pierce and Hendrix run up, so Aaron sends them off for another lap(!)

Waterhole
Kyle asks Ned for his help setting up something fancy for Roxy this afternoon.

NED: For Roxy?
KYLE: Yeah.
NED: Sounds like a date.
KYLE: Yeah.
NED:(surprised) Oh...when did this happen?!

Kyle explains that they hooked up on the island, then decided to be mates, but he does like her after all.

NED: You and Rox...it actually makes a weird sense now that I think about it.
KYLE: 'Weird'...yeah, that's what we're going for(!)
NED: She is a bit younger than your usual type...
KYLE: Are you going to help me or not?
NED: Consider it done.

No.32 (Garden)
David is fussing around doing maintenance on the garden. Harlow tells David that she's fed up of Paul interfering in the life.

DAVID: So we've got, what? Amoral, dishonest, controlling, border-line criminal...
HARLOW: Sounds about right!

David tells her that Paul will never change, so she has to manage her expectations.

DAVID: Dad does things out of love. He's always looking out for you.
HARLOW: So what, I have to accept the fact that he'll never live up to my expectations?
DAVID: Or, you forget them altogether.
HARLOW: And if I can't do that? Then what? I'm just stuck with no family at all?
DAVID: Hey, that's not true. Aaron and I are your family and we're always here for you.

David wonders where Aaron is.

The Shed
Aaron tells Paul that he'll get rid of the stuff and sends Paul away.

Roxy is just off to see Kyle, and Terese asks what's going on. Roxy says they're just friends. Terese tells her to do the dishes and the vacuuming in before she goes!

No.26
Roxy finally arrives and is surprised to see that Kyle is dressed up. He covers and says he's had a meeting.

He tells her he's booked a table at the Terrace, but she flops on the sofa and says she'd rather watch TV on the sofa with a burger. Kyle says that's fine and goes off to get changed. Roxy puts the TV on, oblivious to his original plans.

No.32 (Garden)
David is meeting with the lady from the Department (Leila). Aaron isn't there yet. They sit down for a chat about their backgrounds. Leila is interested to hear that David is a doctor. She tells them that the assessment will be very comprehensive so that the kids go to people who are reliable.

Waterhole
Paul is having a whiskey when Terese comes in. She wants to know what's going on. He tells her about the Mannix delivery. Terese is furious, but she has to swallow it because just then Harlow comes up.

HARLOW: I have something I want to say.
PAUL: I'm listening.
HARLOW: There are a lot of things you've done recently that I don't like.
PAUL: I understand that...
HARLOW: Please don't talk. And I think it's safe to say that our values are far from similar. In fact, if I had to choose the people in my life, I don't think you'd even come close.
PAUL: Point made.
HARLOW: But I don't get to choose. I don't have much family left. And I've lost way to many to hold a grudge. So you're in if you want to be in.
PAUL: Yeah...I do. Thank you.
HARLOW: But it doesn't mean you shouldn't try to be a better person, though.
PAUL: I know, I will.
HARLOW: I mean it.
PAUL: So do I. I'll do anything that you ask.

He gets up to hug her.

HARLOW: Really?
PAUL: Little one?
HARLOW: OK.

They hug.

At a table, Hendrix and Pierce are looking on. Hendrix comments that all seems forgiven.

Coffee Shop
Kyle and Roxy are picking up burgers. Kyle pops to the bathroom and when he's gone, Ned comes in.

NED: What are you doing here?
ROXY: Burgers and chips.
NED: Thought you were hanging out with Kyle today?
ROXY: I am, that's what these are all about.

She indicates her comfortable clothes. Ned looks confused.

NED: That's what you're wearing?
ROXY: Burger-eating clothes.
NED: What happened to the Terrace?
ROXY: I didn't want to go there. It's lame, no offence.
NED: But I booked you a table!
ROXY: Why?
NED: Er, because Kyle asked me to?
ROXY: Same question, why?
NED: Um...cos he asked you on a date and he wanted it to be better than average, I don't know?
ROXY: This is not a date.
NED: Does Kyle know that?
ROXY: Yes.

Ned just looks at her.

ROXY:(realising) He was wearing a shirt.
NED: A really nice one?
ROXY: Yeah...a really nice one, and he smelt really, really nice. Ah...he thinks that his is a date.

Kyle comes back from the bathroom.

ROXY: I think we should eat here...
KYLE: Burgers aren't going to be that cold.
ROXY: Please. We need to talk.

Waterhole
Harlow, Terese and Paul are still chatting. Pierce tells Hendrix that he's fed up of Paul and the way he gets away with things. Hendrix says he's a bit jealous of that!

Coffee Shop
Roxy and Kyle are chatting about whether they should go on a date. They end up deciding not to, crossing their wires a bit.

Roxy arrives home to find Ned folding laundry. He asks her what's going on. Roxy says that Kyle is all over the place at the moment due to grief. Ned says that Kyle did seem very keen on her earlier.

NED: Do you like him?
ROXY: Yeah.
NED: Given what he tried to set up, he obviously likes you.
ROXY: I just don't want to push him into anything he's not ready for yet.
NED: Yeah, but if *he* thinks he is, then I don't see what the issue is.
ROXY: I don't want to get hurt either.
NED: Kyle's a good guy, Rox. Ask anyone.
ROXY: Good guys hurt you just as much as the bad ones when it ends.
NED: Yeah, but the bad ones aren't worth the risk. Maybe Kyle is?

Roxy looks thoughtful.

Aaron finally gets home, but Leila has gone. He apologises to David and tells him about the Mannix stuff.

DAVID: We're trying to prove that we're suitable people to foster a child and you're off fencing stolen goods?
AARON: No, I didn't fence anything. I took it straight to the police.
DAVID: Dad wanted you to do that?!
AARON: No, he wanted me to stash it at some place at Anson's Corner.
DAVID: Of course he did(!)
AARON: David, there is no way I would ever do anything that dodgy.

David is furious with Paul.

Roxy has come to see Kyle.

KYLE: Didn't expect to see you again today.
ROXY: I felt pretty average about what happened. Are we OK?
KYLE: Yeah.
ROXY: Are you sure?
KYLE: It was totally my fault.
ROXY: No, it wasn't.
KYLE: It was. So...I made you a card.

He awkwardly hands it to her.

She opens the card. Inside cut out letters spell out "I'M SORRY I'M NOT PAW-FECT". He remembered that her favourite dog was a Staffie.

She is touched. He offers her a drink.

ROXY: I changed my mind.
KYLE: You don't want a tea?
ROXY: No, about the date, you idiot! I want to do it.
KYLE: Really?
ROXY: Yeah. If you still want to do it...if you think you're ready.
KYLE: Oh, yeah! I'm so ready. Do you want me to organise it? We don't have to do the Terrace or anything like that.
ROXY: No...I've got it. Leave it to me.
KYLE: Any cluse?
ROXY: Just one. No trackies!
KYLE: OK!
ROXY: Bye...
KYLE: Bye.

Waterhole
The police have rung Paul to come down to the station for a chat.

Just then, David and Aaron come in. David is on the warpath.

DAVID: Did you ask my husband to shift stolen goods?!
PAUL: Shhh.
TERESE/PIERCE: What?!
PIERCE: Is this about Mannix?
PAUL: This is none of your business, Pierce.
PIERCE: Well, it is when we work together. It's not a good look when my son starts to admire every stupid thing that you do.
PAUL: We can talk about this later.
DAVID: No, let's talk about it now! Aaron and I are trying to become foster parents and that could have been completely blown if he was charged.
PAUL: Oh, he's not going to be charged...
DAVID: Only because he didn't listen to you and took the stuff straight to the police!

Paul looks horrified.

PAUL: You what?!

AARON: Paul, I told you I wasn't going to do anything dodgy!
PAUL: Do you have any idea what you have just done?
AARON: Come on, this is what's best for you and Harlow. You have to stop covering it up!
PAUL: That is none of your business!
HARLOW:(interjecting) It's *mine* though! To think that I believed that you were actually becoming a better person!
PAUL: Harlow, I meant it...
TERESE: You didn't even tell *me* about this!
PAUL: Because I was *sorting* it, Terese! (to Aaron) Thanks a lot for dropping me in it!
DAVID: No, it's not Aaron's fault, it's yours! It's always yours.

They glare at each other.
