Car park
Paul meets up with Jane's catfish - it's his old foe Mannix Foster!
PAUL: I heard you got out of jail. It's alright; I didn't bring any thugs with me. This time.
Mannix goes to leave, but Paul has more to say.
PAUL: You are going to return Jane Harris's money, and you are going to do it *now*.
Mannix is feigning ignorance, but Paul tells him he has proof that he swiped the money from Jane's account. Mannix drops the act, admitting that he bought his flashy new car with Jane's cash.
PAUL (menacing): Except you made one big mistake (...) You deliberately targeted my friend! Now you're gonna pay.
No 32
David and Aaron are on deckchairs by the pool; Aaron is filling in David on how he's been trying to matchmake Mark B and Paige, declaring that they're perfect for each other.
At this point, Mark arrives, and announces to them that he's flying back to Adelaide tomorrow; he has to return to work sooner than expected.
AARON: There goes all my matchmaking plans!
David suggests they get the family together for a farewell dinner tonight, and Mark agrees to this. Aaron says he'll call Chloe to let her know.
Harold's Café
Kyle is trying to convince Toadie to join the island glamping party, doing his best to tempt him with the prospect of having his own 'clothing-optional beach'. Toadie's being polite but seems visibly not keen on going, so Dipi intervenes, reminding Toadie he's meant to be at the community centre. He thanks Kyle for the coffee and leaves. Once he's gone...
DIPI: He's just got a lot on his mind. It's Sonya's anniversary tomorrow.
KYLE: No! Oh, god, I didn't even think! (...) Here I was, carrying on like a pork chop.
DIPI: No, no, you were being a good mate. It just doesn't seem like he wants to talk about it right now.
KYLE: Well, maybe some time on the island would be good for him?
DIPI: Yeah, maybe. I just don't think he'd want to be pressured into making a choice.
Kyle looks annoyed with himself.
Car park
Mannix is explaining to Paul his reasons for catfishing Jane.
MANNIX: I was broke. No-one would hire me after I got out [of jail]. I had to get creative. Or crawl back to the Renshaws.
PAUL: Okay, so you wanted easy money - but why did you pick Jane?
MANNIX: You owed me. So I stalked you online.
PAUL: I don't use social media.
MANNIX: Your hotel does. Saw you got very cosy with the Face of Lassiter's judge. Thought she had a pretty nice face herself. Looked single - cashed up.
PAUL: So you faked a profile.
MANNIX: I came up with a story for 'Richard'. Jane was happy for the company.
PAUL: See, you wanted to hurt me - I understand that. But Jane, she - she has a heart of gold.
MANNIX: I made her smile for a while.
Paul angrily demands that Mannix return the money, but Mannix points at the car and says mockingly that he's not sure how much of it he has left. Paul looks disgusted.
The 82
Dipi and Jane are having a coffee. Jane tells Dipi she's keen to stay on at Erinsborough High next term, 'barring any disasters'.
DIPI: Well, I for one, personally would love it if you moved back to Erinsborough.
Jane says she'd have to move out of the hotel if Susan did renew her contract; Dipi suggests Toadie might be happy for her to move into Kirsha's old room. Jane doesn't want to bother Toadie, sensing things might be difficult at the moment. Dipi admits he's grieving for Sonya all over again.
DIPI: He picks himself up for the sake of the kids - and I dunno how, he just gets on with it.
JANE: Sometimes that's all you can do. The only way forward is to accept change and move on.

Paige is on the sofa, fondly looking at a picture on her phone of her and Mark B from when they were a couple. At that moment, Mark himself turns up. It's a bit awkward, and Paige says she's just about to head out to meet up with Elly. Mark explains he's got to go back to Adelaide tomorrow.
PAIGE: Oh! That sucks. Don't know when we'll see each other again.
MARK: Well, how about tonight? I'm having dinner with the family at The Waterhole. Maybe you could drop by after you catch up with Elly. Could be our last chance.
PAIGE: Thanks for the invite! ... I, erm... yeah, I might head down.
She promises to keep him posted, and Mark leaves. Paige looks conflicted.
Community Centre
Toadie is standing alone, holding Sonya's wedding dress in a bag and looking wistful as he examines the rest of the dresses on display. Kyle comes in.
KYLE: Makes me think of my wedding.
TOADIE: ... Same here.
KYLE: Mate, I'm sorry I was so pushy earlier. I didn't mean to nag you about the island trip.
TOADIE: Oh, mate, you're pumped - don't worry, I get it.
KYLE: I was being selfish. Just want my best mate along for the ride.
Kyle notices that Toadie is holding Sonya's dress.
TOADIE: She had it restored after our wedding, but she never took it out of the bag. Terese asked if we'd put it on display.
KYLE: Are you ready for that?
TOADIE: Well, I thought I was, but, umm... she's not here to ask, so I'm not too sure what to do about that.
Toadie's clearly emotional, and Kyle puts a supportive hand on his shoulder.
KYLE: Go with your gut. Hey, umm... sing out if you want to catch up for a beer later. First shout's on me.
TOADIE: Now you're talkin'!
But it's false jollity and as Kyle leaves, Toadie looks forlorn. We enter a flashback of his wedding to Sonya, who's walking down the aisle with their son Callum. In a second flashback, at the reception, Kyle watches, laughing, as Sonya and Toadie do their silly wedding dance. Further brief flashes show the exchange of the rings, cutting of the cake, and Sonya and Toadie kissing.
Back in the present, an upset Toadie folds up the dress bag and paces across the room.
Car park
Paul and Mannix are still talking. Mannix suggests Paul just slip Jane some cash himself, but Paul says she's far too proud to accept any help.
MANNIX: That does sound like Janey!
PAUL: Oh, don't you dare speak as if you know her! Jane is honourable - something that you know nothing about! Alright, you can't pay the money back? I'm gonna go to the police.
MANNIX: You talk to the cops, and I'll have to share me and Jane's little chats (...) She was quite... experimental once she got going.
Paul things Mannix is bluffing, but alas, he gets out his phone and shows Paul one of the messages (or picture, maybe - we don't see it) that Jane has sent him. Paul guesses that Mannix has been planning to extort more money from Jane, using the messages as leverage.
PAUL: It's a shame you've already bled her dry.
MANNIX: So you pay. Otherwise, students will see a whole new side of Hardcore Harris.
PAUL: Yeah. You see, that's where your little plan is gonna fall apart. Because the irony is, all of this has made Jane tough. So she might just risk you sharing them, if it means you going to jail. Do you want to test that, hmm? Do you? Sell the car, Mannix. And you give back whatever is left.
MANNIX: What about the rest?
PAUL: I'll make up the difference.
MANNIX: I'm talking a lot.
PAUL: Yeah, well, that's a debt that you're gonna pay off by working for me. Twenty-four hours, Mannix.
Mannix looks defeated as Paul walks away.

Paige gets in from her catch-up with Elly, who's Not In This Episode™. She gets a text from Aaron, asking if she's coming to join the Brennans - adding that 'Mark's going, going, almost gone...' Paige looks pensive.
The Waterhole
A distracted Mark, clearly with Paige on the brain, has to be reminded by Roxy to pick up his drink and take it to his table. Kyle is at the bar, and tells Roxy...
KYLE: I was this close to draining that!
Roxy tells Kyle that she's been asked by Terese to wear a wedding dress to hand out flyers for the expo around the complex, as extra work. This will fund her attendance at Elly's island birthday bash, she explains.
KYLE: I didn't even know you were mates with Elly!
ROXY: Of *course* she'd invite me.
KYLE: Sweet!
Kyle and Roxy high-five. Meanwhile, Mark is now at a table with Aaron and David. David remarks on how great it will be if Chloe (who's Not In This Episode™ either) can get her new glamping business off the ground. Mark is still distracted.
DAVID: No word from Paige?
MARK: No. And I don't want to interrupt her dinner with Elly. You guys should head off if you've finished. I might hang around a bit longer, just in case she turns up.
No 22
Paige lies on the sofa watching TV, looking forlorn.
The following day, David has called round to see her, and they head out onto the patio together. David is enthusing to Paige about his recent Mardi Gras exploits.
PAIGE: Look at you, so out and proud!
DAVID: Well, it certainly beats pretending to be your baby-daddy!
PAIGE (laughs): We got there in the end. Well, me not so much.
DAVID: ... You know he waited for you last night?
PAIGE: I really wanted to come and say goodbye to Mark. But I was with Elly, and I just felt rude to ditch her.
DAVID: Is that the only reason? Because Mark insisted that we wait till the place close. So you had plenty of time to swing past.
PAIGE: ... Look, I'll admit, I was really bummed when Mark told me he was going back to Adelaide. Hit me way harder than I thought it would.
DAVID: So you might still have Feelings™ for him?
PAIGE: I know I do! But I also know that I have to let it go.
DAVID: Why?
PAIGE: Because I just broke up with Jack, and there is so much to figure out. I mean, we've got to find a new house, we've got to co-parent now. And to top it off, Mark and I live in two different states. It's too complicated.
But David thinks Paige should at least talk to Mark before he goes.
PAIGE: There's no point. I have to focus on what's next for Gabe and I.
No 24
Mark is all packed and ready to fly back to Adelaide.
AARON: Are you really, though? Mark, are you sure you don't want to see Paige before you leave?
MARK: I don't see the point. She knew where I was last night, and she didn't show, so...
David comes in, and announces he's just had a cuppa with Paige.
MARK: Of course you did.
DAVID: She feels bad about not making an appearance last night, and she's upset that you're going back to Adelaide.
MARK: ... She said she was upset?
DAVID: She said that it hit her hard. She really cares about you, Mark - you two should really talk.
AARON: Mark, if you leave like this, it sounds like you'd both regret it.
Mark makes excuses about work, but Aaron thinks he should ask for leave.
AARON: Come on - don't you want to see where this can go?
Harold's Café
Jane is telling Dipi and Paul that the money 'Richard' stole has miraculously reappeared in her bank account this morning. She hasn't heard anything from 'Richard', though. Paul feigns ignorance, and says it's pointless wondering about it - at least it's all over now.
DIPI: Well, until he targets the next woman. You need to go to the police so they can trace the money transfer.
Paul tries to talk Jane out of this course of action, saying the PI told him that the catfish covered his tracks really well. But Jane agrees with Dipi; she feels a duty to report it.
PAUL: Jane, you've been through the ringer and back with this. Don't you just want to move on now?
JANE: I don't know that I can.
PAUL: But you got your money back.
JANE: And an empty apology - it's not closure. No, if the police find him, then I want to meet him. As hard as it would be, I need to know why he did this to me.
Dipi agrees, saying the catfish deserves what's coming to him.
The Wall of Sonya™
Toadie is sitting on a bench next to the Wall of Sonya™, looking forlorn. Roxy appears, and asks Toadie where the wedding dresses are for the promo work. A distracted Toadie sends Roxy in the right direction, then wipes a tear from his eye.
Community Centre
Roxy comes in and, missing the row of wedding dresses laid out for the promo staff, mistakenly picks up Sonya's instead, which Toadie has left hanging on a door. She goes to change into it...
No 22
A thoughtful-looking Paul starts reading one of the emails from 'Richard' to Jane that he printed out for the PI, addressed to 'Janey'. Feeling for Jane as he reads, he decides to take matters into his own hands, and starts typing a message of his own. 'Dear Janey, I trust you received the money in your account...'
Lassiter's Complex
Roxy is on the walkway over the pool, in Sonya's wedding dress, handing out wedding expo flyers to passers-by. Aaron and David turn up and tease her, asking who the lucky guy is.
ROXY: I've sworn off men. I'm doing a Carrie Bradshaw; I'm going to marry myself!
David notices staples in the bottom of the dress - Roxy says the dress was too long, so she had to make some adjustments. They wish her luck with her promo work, and head on their way.
No 24
Paige turns up to see Mark.
PAIGE: I know you're getting ready for the airport, so this won't take long.
MARK: Paige, I...
PAIGE: I just want to apologise. I should've been there last night - time just got the better of me.
MARK: It's fine.
PAIGE: But I'm happy for you, and your life in Adelaide. It's just sad to see you go. Feels like we only just started talking again.
MARK: Yeah. Well, maybe we could talk some more, over lunch tomorrow - if you're free?
PAIGE: ...
MARK: I just cancelled my flights to Adelaide. I'm gonna hang around a little longer (...) Thought I'd be missing out if I left now.
PAIGE: Well, I'm glad you're staying.
MARK: Me too.
PAIGE: ... And yes to that lunch tomorrow.
Things get really awkward as neither of them know whether to take things further, but eventually Paige leaves. Mark is beaming.
Harold's Café
Jane rushes in and tells Dipi and Paul that 'Richard' has sent her a letter. Paul looks shifty.
JANE: He fully explains everything. He says he returned the money because he felt guilty for all the lies.
DIPI: Does he give you his real name?
JANE: No, he says he's too embarrassed. But he does say that his feelings for me were genuine - which, you know - at least it wasn't all in my head.
PAUL: Yeah. Well, I'm sure that's gonna give you the closure that you were looking for.
JANE: I feel like I understand him now.
Dipi's still keen on Jane going to the police, but she's decided to leave it.
JANE: I'm not removing my complaint completely; it's still there in case something happens. But I don't think he's gonna do this again. He made a mistake and he's sorry.
DIPI: Just don't have any further contact with the guy.
PAUL: No. Whatever you had with this 'Richard', it's time to move on now.
Jane agrees somewhat unconvincingly, then goes back to reading the letter from 'Richard'.
Lassiter's Complex
Roxy is still handing out flyers, when Mark turns up and notices that her wedding dress looks familiar. Dipi appears and immediately recognises the dress as Sonya's.
DIPI: Where did you get that from?
ROXY: Terese told me to wear it!
DIPI: No, Toadie wouldn't have been okay with that. You need to take it off.
Sure enough, Toadie appears, and he's furious to see Roxy in Sonya's dress. Kyle has just turned up too.
TOADIE (to Roxy): What the hell is wrong with you? How can you be so disrespectful on today of all days?
MARK: Toadie, it must've been an accident, mate.
ROXY: What have I done wrong?!
DIPI: It's Sonya's wedding dress.
Toadie then notices the staples and is even angrier.
TOADIE: As if it wasn't bad enough that I had to lose her, you have to take this from me as well?! You're making a joke of her memory - now get it off!
