Number 24
Hendrix asks what's with "neighbours gone wild" outside, so Pierce and Chloe fill him in on the class action. Chloe's concerned about her job and Pierce's investments and decides on "couch and TV" to ease her troubled mind. While Pierce works elsewhere, Hendrix offers to binge-watch Christmas movies with Chloe.
CHLOE: It's like you read my mind. I'm all about cheesy holiday flicks.
HENDRIX: Home Alone 2?
CHLOE: Since when are you into classic cinema?
HENDRIX: When it's, like, classic.
CHLOE: Are you messing with me?
HENDRIX: No it's a great movie.
CHLOE: Um, it is as good if not better than the first Home Alone! Do you know how many times in my life I've had this argument with people?
Hendrix grins and offers to make popcorn, pleased to be spending time with her.
The Waterhole
Susan tells Karl she felt as though Terese was holding something back from her when they had their chat, but Karl concedes it's a big blow to the ego to lose your job. Roxy interrupts them to take a Polaroid snap, telling them they've been "sprung at Lassiters". It's a new promo idea she's cooked up to do damage control but Sheila's less than keen on the idea. She huffily sends Roxy out the back to get some stock and offers Karl and Susan their photo but the Kennedys are remaining Switzerland on the whole situation. Susan tells Karl she's meeting up with Chloe and Pierce later to give them a compatibility quiz - since they got engaged so quickly it'll be nice to see if they're on the same page about the big issues.
Number 24
Hendrix and Chloe are having a fun time watching the movie, ignoring Pierce when he jokes that they're watching a kids movie. Hendrix's good mood is soured when Susan stops by to have her meeting with soon-to-be newlyweds. Chloe and Pierce are startled when Susan springs the quiz on them, but she assures them there are no right or wrong answers.
CHLOE: Do you really want us to write about each other's most annoying habits?
SUSAN: Well you're going to be living with those annoying habits for a very long time. But there are questions about bigger issues; you know values, religion, politics.
She leaves them to start. Chloe and Pierce give each other a nervous smile.
Lassiters Complex
Bea spies Ned talking to Kane and is instantly suspicious. She gets Ned alone and asks who his friend is but Ned just says he's a buddy from the gym. Bea's worried he's putting too much stress on his body but Ned says the doctor cleared him. Ned keeps acting cagey so Bea says she's there to help if he needs it. Ned thanks her but says he's doing great, much to Bea's disbelief.
Number 24
Hendrix emerges from his room to find Chloe still doing her wedding test. Pierce has already finished his because he had work to do at the complex. Chloe's stressed because she's worried that if their answers don't line up then Susan might not perform the ceremony. Hendrix keeps ragging on his dad for rushing his test but Chloe pretends it'll be fine. When she disappears to find a pencil sharpener, Hendrix steals his dad's test and starts changing around all of the answers.
Number 28
Elly asks what Finn thinks about her creating a photo album for the baby. He says it's a good idea but looks guilty about another certain photo album. Bea gets home and relays her concerns about Ned to the duo. She asks Finn if he wouldn't mind going to the Shed when Ned's there to suss things out a bit. Finn agrees.
The Shed
Kane spots Ned while he does some weightlifting. Ned asks if Nick is going to be at the fight tonight. Kane reminds him that Nick's got a lot more fights under his belt than Ned, but Ned just smirks and says that's why he asked. Finn rocks up and asks if he can have a go on the weights. Kane asks Ned if Finn might be a "new recruit" but Ned ignores him and tells Finn to take his spot on the bench. When Kane leaves, Finn asks what Ned's mate meant by his comment but Ned says that Kane's just got a bad sense of humour. Finn looks concerned.
Lassiters Complex
Sheila growls at Roxy when she loops her arm around Pierce's neck without warning and takes a Polaroid selfie. Pierce isn't enthused with his 'sprung at Lassiters' keepsake. When Roxy goes inside, Pierce asks Sheila if Roxy's been harassing people all afternoon but Sheila points out there's no one around to harass thanks to the lawsuit.
SHEILA: I love my grandson but I cannot support him in this. I am team Lassiters all the way.
PIERCE: Any chance you can get him to drop the case?
SHEILA: Fat chance of that.
PIERCE: I've been going over our profit and loss statements and we're going to have to get serious about cutting staff.
SHEILA: But I was hoping that we'd have a bit more time, you know, until things pick up.
PIERCE: Last on board, first to go. Put Roxy on notice.
Number 28
Karl arrives home bragging about his latest bike club pursuit but Susan is already preoccupied with reading over Chloe and Pierce's quiz answers. She's aghast at how incompatible the two of them have turned out to be.
The Waterhole
Later that night, Susan delivers the bad news to Chloe and Pierce that they're not one hundred per cent compatible. When it comes to the things that really matter, Pierce and Chloe have very different ideas. Pierce says it's ridiculous but Susan says it's all there plain to see in the quiz. Meanwhile, Roxy notices Hendrix watching from the sidelines smirking to himself. He tells her what he did to the quiz because he truly believes that Chloe is way too good for his dad and deserves better.
ROXY: That is the first time I've ever heard you say something nice about someone... You have the hots for her don't you!
HENDRIX: No!
ROXY: Yeah, yeah you do! I know a crush when I see one. You've got it bad.
Hendrix has no witty retort for her.
Number 28
Finn tells Bea and Elly what he learnt at the gym and says he got the same bad vibe about Kane. Elly wonders if Ned might be involved with gangs again but the others don't believe so. Elly then asks if they should confide in Terese but Bea is adamant they don't go behind Ned's back. Bea asks Finn if he's okay for her to keep getting involved so she can get to the bottom of things. Finn says if Ned's in trouble then it's worth a shot.
Lassiters Complex
Roxy finds Hendrix moping outside by himself and reluctantly takes pity on him. She says she thought his interfering was all about his daddy issues, but clearly it's more. Hendrix admits it started out that way but then he realised what an awesome chick Chloe is. Roxy understands the depths of Hendrix's feelings but deters him from going after Chloe.
HENDRIX: I'm not, okay. I'm not an idiot.
ROXY: Has Chloe shown any interest at all?
HENDRIX: I haven't actually made a real play.
ROXY: What? You've made a fake one?
HENDRIX: Well I acted interested at the start but that was only to mess with dad.
ROXY: And did she go for it? (Hendrix is quiet) Then there's your answer.
HENDRIX: Yeah the thing is... It feels different lately. It feels like there's something there.
ROXY: Dude she's getting married to your dad.
HENDRIX: Yeah and he doesn't deserve her.
Sheila walks out and says she has to have a word to Roxy about work.
The Waterhole
Susan can see that Chloe and Pierce love each other but that's no guarantee about compatibility. She thinks they should postpone the wedding otherwise she's not going to feel comfortable about marrying them. The pair are stunned and Chloe asks if they can do the quiz again, but Susan says assuming they were being honest the first time around then it's not going to change much. Hendrix watches proceedings from afar and Susan gives them space to talk. Pierce doesn't understand how everything went so wrong, but when he actually takes a look at his quiz he realises every single multiple-choice box he ticked isn't right. Relieved, Chloe calls him a doofus and says he filled everything out wrong because he rushed it. She drags him over to Susan.
CHLOE: Susan? Good news: my fiancé's an idiot!
Pierce admits his mistake to Susan. They plead with her to reconsider so Susan relents and says she'll marry them on one condition: they take the test again.
Number 22
Bea doesn't waste any time in asking Ned if he's back in a gang again. Ned sighs and says he isn't, "I told you I'd never go back to that." Bea's not entirely relieved though, she still has an issue with what Kane said to Finn at the gym. Ned gets more and more frustrated with Bea's concerns and pretty much tells her to leave. Bea is offended and goes. There's a knife on the kitchen bench and Ned gets the shakes before smashing a glass to the ground in anger. He's feeling quite jumpy and on edge.
The Waterhole
Hendrix realises his marriage quiz plan has failed and the wedding is back on track. Pierce and Chloe walk off arm in arm while Hendrix stays at the bar. He notices Roxy's in a foul mood and Roxy says it's because Pierce wants her gone from Lassiters.
ROXY: I swear he has it in for me; it's so unfair.
HENDRIX: It's all about money for old man Greyson.
ROXY: You know what? Stuff it, count me in.
HENDRIX: With what?
ROXY: You want to mess with your old man, right? You want to come between him and Chloe so you can have a crack. I might as well have some fun. I'll help you with whatever you need. All's fair in love and war, right?
Hendrix smiles at her.
Fight Club
Ned tells Kane to put him in first, which Kane is happy to oblige. Ned takes off his shirt and steps into the makeshift ring to start his bout with Nick. The guy pummels into Ned at first but Ned soon retaliates and makes Nick fall to the ground. Ned looks way too pleased with himself.
