Sheila is sitting at the table, Gary, Amy and Kyle are standing round listening to her. Sheila tells them that the police asked about where, when she found and how and why she moved the crowbar. Sheila confessed to all of it.
SHEILA: They were very nice considering but they have charged me with obstruction of justice.
Gary thinks they will be out to get him now. Kyle points out they will do tests to confirm it's the actual weapon. Gary insists he didn't do it so they won't find his fingerprints on it. He wonders why Sheila didn't go to the police straightaway. Sheila worried that it would be used as evidence against Gary.
GARY: You've only made me look more guilty.
Sheila points out that Kyle was in agreement with her. Kyle protests that he thought they should speak to Gary first but Gary was drunk by then. Amy tells them that Harlow told Paul that she reported Sheila. Harlow thought Sheila looked suspicious. Amy reassures Gary they'll clear his name, Gary is heading to bed. Sheila feels bad about what has happened. Kyle reminds her that things are now harder for Gary. Amy points out that it's just Roxy's statement that is the evidence against Gary, there are no fingerprints on the crowbar. Kyle wonders why Roxy is so sure that she saw Gary.
No.22
Paul, Terese and Amy are in the kitchen whilst Harlow is working at the table. Paul tells Amy that maybe this is a reason to turn her back on the Cannings. Paul points out that Amy is marrying a criminal and Sheila is one as well. Terese tries to stop Paul from going on too much. Amy insists that it wasn't Gary who was responsible for the crowbar. Paul thinks Paul is just being foolish though he understands her being loyal. Paul starts feeling pain so Terese orders him to bed. Paul reluctantly goes.
HARLOW: I understand if you're unhappy with me.
Amy reassures her that Sheila is the one to blame and the actual culprit needs to be caught. Harlow wonders how Amy thinks that Gary is not to blame for this. Amy doesn't think that Gary would leave the crowbar behind the tram where he works. Amy can't explain Roxy's eye witness account though. Amy thinks it's quite possible that Paul paid Roxy to put Gary in the firing line. Amy asks if Harlow has noticed Roxy and Paul acting strangely. Harlow hasn't, Amy wants to know if Harlow notices anything.
Backpackers Retreat
It's the next morning. Vance is asleep as Roxy is lying in bed. Roxy has a flashback of Vance turning up at the Backpackers. Roxy can't believe that Vance disappeared, reappeared and attacked Paul. Vance is convinced that Paul deserved this! Vance's mate was keeping an eye on things and noticed what happened between Paul and Roxy at the lake. Roxy insists that Paul didn't try to hurt her, she came onto him as revenge, Paul wasn't happy about it. Roxy wishes that Vance had come to her first then she would have explained what happened. Vance points out he called Roxy, Roxy didn't realise as the number was blocked. Vance hadn't realised she would try it on with Paul. We come back to the present where Roxy is silently crying. Another flashback, Roxy has got a text from Terese to say that Paul is now awake. Vance tells Roxy she needs to do everything needed to take the blame away from Vance.
The flashback ends as Vance turns over in bed. Vance tells her he was having a dream about her.
ROXY: Are you sure that nobody saw you hide the crowbar behind the tram?
Vance reassures her that he wasn't seen, Gary will be charged and they won't look further. Roxy isn't convinced and thinks the situation isn't right as Gary is a nice bloke. Vance reassures her that this has already happened and not to feel guilty. He wants her to think about them, she points out it's been on her mind for the four weeks he's been gone. Vance reassures her he was going to return anyway. Vance promises they can start afresh together once this is finished with.
No.22
Paul and Terese are in the kitchen. Paul isn't hopeful about Roxy returning to the house in the near future. Terese thinks Roxy would be more grounded at No.22 as she's a loose cannon elsewhere. Paul thinks that Terese needs to sell the idea to Roxy instead of him. Paul thinks it's too soon though as Roxy might find things awkward after the lake incident. Harlow arrives suddenly and asks what went on. Terese tries to brush her off by saying a misunderstanding took place. Paul and Roxy are working things out. Harlow looks pensive, picks up her books and heads off.
No.32
Harlow and David walk into the kitchen and Aaron is sitting at the table. Harlow thinks Paul isn't admitting how much pain he is suffering. Roxy arrives home and David asks where she spent the night. Roxy claims she stayed at the Back Lane Bar. Harlow says that Terese was under the impression Terese was going home but Roxy changed her mind.
Mark arrives and has some follow up questions for Roxy, he saw her return home. Roxy confirms on the night of Paul's attack before deciding to not leave she was at the bus stop for Melbourne. She went home via the complex and the lake and saw Paul's attack on her way home. Mark reports the blood on the rag was Paul's but none of Gary's fingerprints are on the crowbar. Roxy didn't know if he was wearing gloves as it was dark and thinks Gary could have wiped the fingerprints off. Mark finishes the chat and Aaron and David see him out.
Roxy lies down on the sofa, Harlow wants to know what Roxy is covering up, Roxy denies this. Harlow points out she answered quickly and seemed to have gone over it repeatedly. Roxy wants to know why Harlow is giving her a hard time. Harlow called the police and Roxy thinks she would think Gary is the guilty party. Harlow tells Roxy about the crowbar being found near the tram. Harlow can't understand why Gary would leave it near his workplace. Roxy points out Gary might have panicked. Harlow thinks someone might have set Gary up.
HARLOW: If you know something you need to make it right. An innocent man's life could be ruined.
No.26
Amy is taking down the washing when Kyle arrives. Kyle wanted to know if Gary is feeling up to working today, Amy reports he's still in bed. At the moment Gary is keeping down the coffee and painkillers Amy gave him. Kyle doesn't think things are looking positive for Gary. Amy would hate for Gary to go to prison, as Gary's life is coming together. Kyle doesn't think that will be the outcome. Kyle and Amy look at each other. Amy says she needs to see how Gary is doing and heads off.
Backpackers Retreat
Roxy arrives and Vance is sitting on the bed. She wants to go back on her statement and say Gary wasn't the one who attacked Paul. Vance insists that she shouldn't do that. Roxy won't implicate Vance, she just wants to stop Gary from actually going to prison. Vance wants to leave town. He thinks he will be seen if they stay in Erinsborough for much longer.
ROXY: Why didn't you take me with you last time?
Vance evades the answer and assures her once he was settled he was planning to return for her. Roxy wants to know if Vance actually loved Terese, Vance can't believe what he is hearing! Roxy points out that Vance never mentioned it or they had even met when they were together. It was a couple of months before Vance realised the connection. He thought it was awkward to bring it up then and Terese also wanted it to be a secret. When pushed Vance admits to panicking and asking Terese to run away with him. He tells Roxy how much he loves her and asks her to leave with him.
Ramsay Street
Aaron and David are talking to Paul who is lamenting that Amy is still with Gary. Unseen by Paul Amy is heading towards them.
PAUL: It's like you feel for a lost puppy who turns into a Rottweiler. That's Gary.
Amy wryly comments that Paul is still trying to badmouth Gary to the family. Paul is convinced that Gary is not good news, Amy disagrees! Paul points out that Gary attacked him. Other people have been physically attacked by Gary before. Amy reminds him that Paul gave Gary money to hurt Ezra. Paul thinks that Gary was the right man to do that. Aaron and David interrupt to suggest that the police handle the matter instead. Paul thinks that he knows the outcome. Amy thinks will turn out well for Gary. She's convinced Gary didn't do it as if he had done it he would have been honest about it. Amy thinks Paul could learn a lesson about that! Amy heads off as Paul calls after her.
No.26
Sheila is really sorry about all the errors she's made recently as Gary makes a coffee. She apologises for hurting them all and worries about Clive's opinion when he returns from New Zealand. Gary interrupts to ask her to quieten down. He refuses to be sympathetic to her though she was under the impression she was actually protecting him! Gary insists as he's innocent he didn't need protection. Gary angrily points out she hasn't been listening now or at the time either.
GARY: You did it because you didn't believe me. You didn't believe in me.
Gary knows others haven't believed in him but he thought Sheila would be the one person to believe in him! Gary thought Sheila would have supported him no matter what. Sheila insists she's done just that always. Sheila thought her stupid behaviour had pushed him into doing this so she was to blame. Gary tells her she's made things worse so she should carry on sitting in the hole she's made. Sheila sobs as she nods in agreement, Gary heads off.
Backpackers Retreat
Roxy has returned and Vance remarks that she hasn't taken long. He notices she doesn't have a bag. She explains that she's not happy with Gary going to prison when he's innocent and his family will be torn into pieces. Vance thinks that Gary will be put away eventually anyway. Roxy points out that GBH is a major thing which wouldn't be what he was put away for when he was guilty.
ROXY: How could you do it babe? When I fell in love with you you weren't a violent man.
Roxy wants to know if Vance intended to murder Paul as that's what nearly happened. Vance says he thought Paul was hurting Roxy, it's too late now and Paul is ok. Roxy isn't going with Vance. She wants him to confess if he really does love her. Vance can't believe what she's saying but she is really serious about this. Vance heads down the stairs to find the cops waiting for him. Roxy comes downstairs and apologises to him.
No.26
Mark is telling Kyle, Gary and Amy that Roxy has admitted the truth and Vance is being apprehended at the Backpackers. Amy knew that Roxy wasn't telling the truth! Everyone is relieved, Amy and Kyle knew the truth would eventually emerge! Sheila still has the obstruction charge though and she wants to know when the sentencing will take place. Mark tells her the court dates will come through soon. He is now going to see Paul and Terese and will be in contact with them, Mark heads off. Gary embraces Kyle as well as Amy. Amy looks awkward as Gary talks about her being his fiancee. Gary knows Amy didn't stop knowing he was innocent as he looks at Sheila.

Harlow points out that Roxy was protecting Vance who actually hurt Paul. Terese stops them. She is angry as well so understands their anger. Roxy has let herself down as well as the rest of them. Terese points out that Roxy did the right thing in the end.
TERESE: Roxy I know how hard it would have been to call the police on Vance. I'm really proud of you.

Terese comforts her with a hug.
