Lassiters
Terese leaves a message on Pierce's answerphone asking him to call her back urgently. Chloe asks if there's something wrong with a Lassiters wine deal but Terese insists not. She calls over Ned to tell him that Pierce is buying a horse from Vance.

CHLOE: Rich dude buys horse, what's the problem?

Terese ignores her and tells Ned that Pierce needs to be informed straight away in case he's shipping the horse to the UK.

CHLOE: Can someone explain so I can help?
TERESE: (hesitates) The horse is stolen.

Terese asks Ned to fill in Chloe while they look for Pierce. She says she'll sort out Vance. As they leave, Roxy walks in.

ROXY: Do you own a fondue set?
TERESE: What?
ROXY: It's this posh thing where you dip stuff into melted cheese, Vance will love it.
TERESE: Sorry, I'm late for a meeting.

Terese heads off.

The office in Back Lane Bar
Leo finds the safe open with a note inside from Vance. It reads: 'Needed cash for quick getaway. Sorry - Vance'. He then leaves an angry voicemail for Vance demanding the money back, just as Paul walks in. Paul asks what's going on but Leo is dismissive, saying he needs to open the bar.

The Waterhole
Bea finishes a performance of 'Sorry' to a small crowd in the bar. Elly, Finn and Shaun heap her with praise but the atmosphere suddenly changes as Ned approaches. He tells her that people are starting to ask where they can purchase her song Sorry. Sensing the awkwardness, he leaves. Finn suggests recording 'Sorry' as a single but Elly wonders if you need a record label in order to do that. Shaun jumps in, saying that you probably just need to hire a studio and get the song mixed then it'd be ready for release.

BEA: Guys, slow down, do you know how much a recording studio costs, like even for the day? You need a producer and stuff.
ELLY: You could do it at home.
SHAUN: Yeah, all you need for that's a phone, yeah?
FINN: It can't be that hard, I'm sure there's some sort of app thing that you could use.
BEA: I wanna wait until I can afford to do it properly.

Back Lane Bar
Paul is still at the bar trying to probe Leo for information about what's going on. He points out that Leo is clearly reluctant to tell him given his initial reservations when he bought the bar in the first place and insists that he won't gloat if he just tells him what's going on. At first Leo doesn't seem convinced, but he eventually tells Paul about Vance taking the money. He hands him the note Vance left.

PAUL: So have you called the police?
LEO: No, I don't want to get them involved.
PAUL: Nobody steals from my son and gets away with it.

The Waterhole
Finn asks Bea if she thinks Elly's ok that Shaun accompanied her to the shop. She replies that she's sure she is.

BEA: As long as he carries his share. (laughs)

Finn suddenly changes the subject, mentioning the possibility of Bea's song being recorded professionally. He offers to pay for it, but she declines. He asks if she's only saying no because of their near kiss the other day, but she admits that recording the song properly feels like a massive step and she's nervous.

FINN: But Bea, you're so good. You're better than half those people on reality shows!
BEA: Only half? (laughs)

Finn tells her to let him know if she changes her mind.

Stables
Terese charges towards Vance as he is putting Red in the horsebox and she demands that he cancels the sale to Pierce. He asks how she knows who he's selling to and she replies that she's in business with Pierce. Despite her threats to call the police, Vance remains confident that she won't, believing she cares about him too much. Terese looks away, seeming conflicted about what to do.

Ramsay Street
Susan and Bea are talking as Elly and Shaun arrive back from shopping. Shaun heads into the house and Elly joins in the conversation. Susan says that Bea was just telling her how the performance at The Waterhole went. Elly once again praises her sister whose phone begins to ring. Bea walks off to answer her phone and Susan jokes that Bea's going to have to start accepting compliments better. Susan and Elly's smiles fade as Mark exits Number 24.

SUSAN: How are you feeling about the annulment now?
ELLY: Trying not to dwell on it.

Susan remarks that Elly seems to be getting on well with Shaun. She replies that they are, admitting that it's nice not to feel so alone. Bea returns, saying that the phone call was from someone at a recording studio wanting to confirm her booking for tomorrow. She seems rattled.

ELLY: I thought you didn't have the money?
BEA: No, I don't. I didn't arrange it.
SUSAN: Oh, well, who did?
BEA: I have a pretty good idea.

Number 28
Bea storms in and berates Finn for booking a session at the recording studio. He denies any involvement but Bea fails to be placated by his protestations.

BEA: Well I hope you can get a refund.

She storms out.

Lassiters
Chloe finds Pierce and asks where he's been hiding all day. He replies that he's been in a meeting. She insists that he can't buy Vance's horse but he says the bank transfer's already been approved and the horse is going to be shipped to the UK today.

CHLOE: Pierce, look at me. When have you seen me look this serious? You can't buy that horse.

He looks concerned.

Stables
Terese ends a phone call. She turns to Vance.

TERESE: That was Chloe, not the police. Vance...Pierce won't be coming.

He looks annoyed. Sirens begin to sound. He looks panicked and Terese insists that she didn't call the police. She encourages him to flee the scene, saying that she'll deal with the police.

VANCE: Come with me.
TERESE: What, why?
VANCE: Bcause. We can go back. I want you, I want what we had. Just come with me, we both felt the spark, ever since I came back!
TERESE: No Vance, I love my life, okay? And you don't belong in it anymore!

He jumps on his bike and scarpers.

Back Lane Bar
Paul tells Leo that he called the police on Vance. Leo initially seems concerned that he might get caught up in the fallout of any other dodgy things Vance is involved with, but Paul insists that his lawyers will be on hand if he needs them. Surprisingly Leo says he even feels a bit sorry for Vance, but Paul has no sympathy at all. An oblivious Roxy arrives, excitedly asking Leo if he's ok to close the bar tonight as she's got a nice dinner planned for her and Vance. Paul encourages Leo to break the news to her, but he seems reluctant. Paul takes pleasure in doing it instead.

PAUL: Your neanderthal of a boyfriend has just stolen from the bar and is in the process of skipping town.
ROXY: Why would you say that?
LEO: It's the truth.
ROXY: No, Vance wouldn't do that. What's going on here?

Roxy attempts to call him but his phone's off. Paul points out that he probably doesn't want to be found. Roxy remains in denial and storms off.

Number 28
Bea strums her guitar and hums to herself, attempting to write a new song. Susan is in the kitchen and starts asking about Bea's music; more specifically whether writing is as much fun as performing.

BEA: It's all fun. And I actually can't believe people are paying me to do it.
SUSAN: With all the effort that goes into perfecting the music, wouldn't it be worth just recording some of it?

Susan's remark immediately gets Bea's back up. Her aunt continues to encourage her to accept 'Finn's offer but Bea's confidence issues are clearly holding her back.

SUSAN: If we all waited till we were ready, we'd never get anything done.

Bea hesitates but admits again that she's nervous.

BEA: I don't know, I just, sometimes I think 'what if he's wrong?' about me being talented and everyone's just humouring me.
SUSAN: Aw Bea no, I'm not humouring you. Terese keeps booking you, she's not gonna play games with her business. Darling you are so talented. Maybe just give this a chance.

The Waterhole
Pierce approaches Chloe at the bar, telling her that his bank has cancelled the transfer. He says he'd like to know what is actually going on and she replies that Terese will fill him in soon. Kyle says he saw Terese going into the police station with Mark, prompting Paul to ask why, but Kyle just shuts him down.

KYLE: I didn't feel like it was the best time to have a chat, Paul.
PAUL: Chloe, do you have any idea what this is about?
CHLOE: No...I mean, I don't know. I might have an inkling but...I don't know for sure. I just...inkle.

Chloe reluctantly tells them that it's do with Rhapsody in Red; he's stolen. Paul storms off to hear the full story from Terese.

Number 28
Finn enters the kitchen with trepidation after his run in with Bea earlier but she apologises, telling him that she's going to attend her session at the recording studio after all. She thanks him for booking it but he continues to insist that it wasn't him.

Police Station
Terese tells Mark that Ned knew Rhapsody in Red was stolen as he knows Vance's family from way back and did some digging. Mark isn't happy that Terese didn't phone the police when she found out about the stolen horse causing her to feel remorseful, before asking who did report it.

MARK: Paul, but not about the horse. Vance also made off with the contents from the safe at Leo's bar.

After they finish, Terese exits to be greeted by Paul, wanting to check on her. They walk out to the Lassiters Complex and she tells Paul that Rhapsody in Red was stolen.

PAUL: This is why you didn't want me to buy her, isn't it? Oh Terese, why didn't you go to the police yourself? Then or now? What else is there about you and Vance that you're not telling me?
TERESE: Let's go home. Roxy needs to hear this too.

Harold's Café
Finn and Bea enter the café, soon noticing Ned sitting alone. Bea asks Finn to give them a minute and she approaches Ned for a chat. She says she called the recording studio and they told her that he's the one who booked her session.

NED: I couldn't get 'Sorry' out of my head.
BEA: That's a massive leap to then booking me in to record it.
NED: But you're so good, Bea. Plus, then I can play it whenever I want and I don't have to hum it badly (laughs).
BEA: That's really generous of you.
NED: This isn't me angling for us to get back together, if that's what you're worried about...(silence) But it is me trying to make up for how things ended. You know, and, watch you get all famous (laughs).

Finn intently watches from afar, looking upset by Ned and Bea's rapport.

BEA: You're the one who gave me the courage to even try.
NED: Record that song.
BEA: Yeah, I will. And I will pay you back as soon as that single goes platinum (laughs)

They hug.

Number 22
Roxy arrives home hoping to find Vance but instead she's greeted by Paul and Terese. Terese tells her to sit down. Paul wants to know why Terese had to go down to the stables to personally intervene in Vance's business, thinking there's more going on than meets the eye.

PAUL: This is about you and Vance, isn't it?
TERESE: No, there's no me and Vance.
PAUL: Terese, enough! I saw you hugging the guy. Now for some reason you're protecting him and I wanna know why.
TERESE: (hesitates) Okay, the truth is...I have more of a connection with Vance than I've let on.
PAUL: By connection you mean...?
TERESE: There's history.
ROXY: How much history?
TERESE: Vance was my first love.

Paul and Roxy look shocked.
