Toadie finally manages to rouse Sonya but she isn't happy to hear he called for an ambulance.

Ramsay Street
Mark spots a stranger standing outside his house and after the intros, knows its Chloe's ex, Mel. She hands Mark over a business card and asks if he can pass it onto Chloe, as she'd "love the chance to explain."

Hospital
Sonya is trying to put her collapse down to not eating, but Karl suggests that since she's at the hospital, they get the specialist to see her today. Despite him initially refusing to rule out that what happened is down to what Alice did, he tries to reassure Sonya by asking that he humours her, as he is sure they won't find anything but "its better to be overly cautious." Somewhat reluctantly she agrees and sends Toadie home but asks that he doesn't tell Nell that she is in hospital, so the wee lass doesn't worry "when there's absolutely nothing to worry about."

SONYA: And I don't want you to worry either.

Number 24
Aaron fills his brother in as to how Mel is in town, and both wonder why exactly she is here.

Chloe enters the livingroom and isn't amused at all at what Aaron has done and wonders which other ex is suddenly going to appear! "For the millionth time I am sorry," Aaron pleads however they are both curious to know what happened, partially to help fix things, but they could be a while waiting to hear because Chloe stomps off after Mark tries to give her Mel's business card.

Hospital
Sonya explains her symptoms to Dr Rae and what she's been doing to try and flush the toxins out of her system. Dr Rae says that the symptoms could indicate irritable bowel syndrome and adds that the codeine might have blocked her system up but thinks the stomach pain is coming from internal scarring thanks to the pesticide. To confirm the diagnosis, they (Karl is there too) want her to undergo a colonoscopy, once she is suitably prepped, later on in the week. Although the symptoms strongly suggest it's a gut issue, Karl wants a "purely precautionary," reproductive ultrasound done too.

Number 24
Aaron is trying to get his sister to talk about Mel, but she is so peeved off at him to converse. She isn't amused either if he thought getting Mel to town would "wipe out my feelings for Elly." He tries to explain that he did attempt to stop Mel from coming "but she came anyway."

CHLOE: You have no idea what you've done, have you? That woman ruined my life.

The Waterhole
Chloe arrives at The Waterhole and checks that Bea is ready to strut her stuff, and she is thanks to roadie Ned. Before she begins, she's please to hear Chloe is going to be going to the wedding now, however if Bea was looking for someone to help with the hen activities, she's politely informed that its going to be down to her!

Chloe breaks away from them after spotting Mel at another table, but when Mel tries to talk to her, Chloe again gives her the brush off, commenting that she "slammed the door in your face for a reason!"

Getting on the phone, she tells Aaron if he wants to help fix things, he's to get rid of Mel today!

Number 24
Mark is so desperate to know what happened between Chloe and Mel, that he guilt-trips Elly into going to talk to his sister at the bar.

Karma gets its own back though, as Toadie arrives to ask Mark to babysit the kids, guilt tripping him by saying he is going to be working on his case. Mark asks where Sonya is and Toadie simply replies that she is "tied up offsite."

Hospital
Sonya has had her ultrasound, and tries to engage the ultrasonographer in conversation, but he is busy looking at the images before hurriedly leaving to go talk to the doctor.

The Pavilion
Chloe begins by admitting that it feels weird talking about Mel to Elly. She begins by explains that they started out simply as friends, but Mel had this "intoxicating" energy and she liked the drama of them constantly fighting then making up. They then went travelling together, ending up in Jamaica and went into business sub-letting apartments to backpackers, however got themselves into financial trouble. Apparently at this point things got too intense, because Mel got so clingy and jealous, that Chloe wanted them to go back to being simply friends.

CHLOE: She took off, along with my phone, my cards, my computer... everything except my passport. Oh, and the debt. That's where my money problems started, it's because of her.

Hospital
Sonya is still waiting to see the doctor (she's been called away) so when she spots Karl in the corridor, she gets him into the room and wants him to interpret the ultrasound images, so she can go home.

Karl starts looking at the images then makes the same face as the ultrasonographer, which Sonya immediately picks up on. "Please just tell me what's going on in there," she pleads with him. Reluctantly, he begins to point out bits of her reproductive system before coming to the very obvious black circle.

KARL: That's most likely a cyst, they're reasonably common.
SONYA: Is it a common looking cyst to you?

Karl refuses to answer, citing that he doesn't want to give Sonya any mis-information but promises to page the Dr Leung to come and see her.

The Pavilion
Chloe explains that it was her mum who bailed her out of the debt she was in (Fay paid her double what was originally needed), although she didn't tell her mum the full reason over why she needed the money, simply saying that they'd broken up. Elly is surprised Chloe hasn't told anyone the full story before now and comments that it "sounds like you are in a really bad place?" after Chloe explained that she lived up to Mark's description of her (young and irresponsible) by raking up the debt to her mum, who'd continue to bail her out when she ran out of money. Apparently, Mel didn't make any contact with her for 6 months, then it was "how's it going?"

ELLY: Wow, so low.
CHLOE: It wasn't surprising, that's who I was back then.

The Shed
And Mel is giving her version of what happened to Aaron but trying to angle it to show that she wasn't a nice person. Aaron isn't amused at Mel claiming she was "head over heels for your sister" after what she said to him, although does soften when Mel admitted that she even had her wedding to Chloe planned out in her head. "I shouldn't have contacted you, it wasn't really my place," Aaron explains but Mel is glad that he did, as it enabled her to say what she wanted to Chloe's face. Mel is desperate to talk to Chloe, so she can prove that she is a different person now.

Rebecchi Law
Toadie is surprised to see Piper in work when it's a public holiday when he arrives, but she explains that it's her way of repaying the time off she's had lately.

PIPER: And besides, I really don't believe in celebrating the stealing of land from traditional owners.

She is surprised to hear Toadie say Mark has the kids as she didn't think Sonya would have the nursery open, so he is forced to tell her about his wife collapsing and that she is in hospital undergoing tests.

TOADIE: Just when I thought my family were due for a break.

Piper does her best to reassure him that she will be okay, and just at that, Sonya calls Toadie and he looks rather worried.

The Pavilion
Chloe realises she needs to get back to work, and Elly remarks that the Chloe she first knew wouldn't have been so considerate, the Chloe she knows now has grown up.

CHLOE: Yes, getting diagnosed with a terminal disease will do that to a girl... that and living with her uptight older brother!

Elly tries to suggest that perhaps Mel has grown up too, and that the time is right to talk things out "to get some clarity on all the things that still clearly affect you." "You don't get it," Chloe replies, comparing Mel to a bulldozer who she doesn't want to knock her down again, despite Elly pointing out that she is strong now with a job and a support system as well as family and friends.

ELLY: Whatever decision you make, I'm here for you.

It looks like Elly's words have sunk in, because Aaron calls and Chloe consents to meeting Mel.

The Waterhole
Chloe and Elly enter the bar and make their way to where Aaron and Mel are sitting. Elly realises she recognises Mel from when they chatted the previous night.

Aaron quickly pulls his sister aside for a word - Mel told him everything so he apologises to his sister for having to go through everything alone. "I'm impressed she told you the truth," Chloe admits... but wishes he'd run her out of town!

AARON: Hey, I'm a sucker for a broken heart alright!
CHLOE: Get out of here before I break yours!!

Mel wishes to talk to Chloe alone, so tries to get Elly to leave, but Chloe makes it clear that Elly is staying.

CHLOE: Well go on, I'm listening.

Hospital
Toadie and Sonya are trying and work out what has caused the cyst when Dr Leung and Karl arrive into her room. Dr Leung informs the Rebecchi's that the cyst is 7cm long and is sure that is what is causing the pain Sonya has, with Karl adding that its completely unrelated to what Alice did.

Dr Leung wants to remove the cyst, via a laparoscopy and after Sonya makes her stance known about painkillers, they will put a plan into operation to negate having to use painkillers. Toadie asks what the risks are and the Dr Leung replies "bleeding, infection, blood clots, damage to other organs" although does warn that depending on the damage to the ovary, it too may need removing. "That's quite a list," is Sonya remarks although she is then told that consent will also be required in case a hysterectomy is required because of internal damage. "No," is Sonya's reply to that and Toadie asks for time to allow them to discuss things, although Karl leaves them with a warning...

KARL: Just bear in mind that taking no action is the greater risk.
SONYA: But if I have a hysterectomy, I can't have any more children.
