Robinson Heights
Gary's trapped but spies the remote. He takes a chance and lunges for it, but kicks something over and makes a racket before he can pick it up. Amy appears, surprised to find her boyfriend there. She tells him she's doing a security check and Gary latches onto that excuse, explaining he was doing the same thing. He was just hiding in the dark because he thought she was a crook!
Number 24
Chloe's scrolling through her phone on the couch while Mark and Aaron chat about Christmas plans. The boys make themselves scarce when Elly arrives and wants to talk wedding dresses with Chloe. Far from thrilled, Chloe wonders why Bea isn't helping Elly, but Elly says Bea liked every dress choice, which wasn't useful at all. Chloe paints on a smile and reluctantly agrees to help.
Robinson Heights
Amy thanks Gary for being so thoughtful but before they leave Gary suggests they split up and check the remaining houses. His plan fails, though, when Amy sees the remote and pockets it to take to the police in the morning in case it's evidence.
Erinsborough Hospital
The next morning Toadie brings the kids in to see Sonya, while Willow hovers in the background clutching a bouquet of flowers. Nell gives her mum a "Christmas pig" paper plate decoration she made at kinder. Willow tells Sonya she's sorry for everything her "crazy nan" put her through, but Sonya's appreciative that Willow pieced everything together and helped to save her. She just wants to leave everything in the past and try to enjoy Christmas - including presents. Toadie and Willow have to deliver the news that Heather replaced all her gifts with ones for Andrea. Sonya says it doesn't matter, as long as everyone's healthy and happy. Toadie receives a phone call and takes it outside.
Number 24
Chloe decides to have coffee with David and Aaron once she discovers Elly and Mark are out for the day. Aaron wants to know why she's avoiding the newly engaged pair so Chloe pretends all the wedding talk was annoying her. Aaron doesn't buy it seeing as she was so into planning his and David's wedding, then thinks Chloe might be feeling upset about it because of her HD. To cheer Chloe up Aaron suggests that the three of them hit the town for some dancing and cocktails that night. Chloe's keen to party.
Erinsborough Hospital
Toadie's angry when he returns from his call, telling Sonya and Willow that the police discovered a mobile phone in Andrea's room and that Heather had been in contact with her for a couple of months. Sonya looks stunned and Willow's horrified to think her mum may have been in cahoots with her Nan.
Number 26
Amy locks in the last of her workers needed for overtime and then tells Gary she hopes the remote they found last night leads the cops straight to the crooks. Gary offers to take the remote to the police for her, but Amy wants to sort it out herself. When Amy leaves, Gary grabs a mini toolkit so he can unscrew the back of the remote.
Erinsborough Hospital
Willow's by the door getting more and more upset the angrier Toadie gets about Andrea and Heather. Sonya tries to reason that Andrea may not have been fully aware of what Heather was up to, but Toadie's not feeling too charitable.
TOADIE: She may not have known the finer details but there are texts on that phone that prove she knew that Heather was up to something. Not that I should be overly surprised: like mother like daughter, right? One thing is for certain; we are stopping payment for Andrea's psych care immediately. And tomorrow I'm going to start proceedings for sole parental custody of Hugo. There is no way I'm letting that sick, twisted woman anywhere near my kid!
Sonya notices Willow run out and calls after her. Toadie looks slightly abashed but says he has every right to be angry - he nearly lost his wife! Sonya understands but says he needs to go and find Willow.
Lassiters Complex
Willow sprints over to the rotunda and cries.
The Waterhole
Chloe buys herself and Aaron some cocktails and Aaron says it's nice to see her smile again. That happiness doesn't last long though when (a rueful looking) David appears with Mark and Elly - they heard about the fun night out and wanted to tag along!
Number 26
Gary takes the chip out of the remote and puts it into the microwave to fry. Sheila arrives home earlier than expected and busts Gary. He tries to make dumb excuses but Sheila's onto him and demands to know the truth.
Number 30
Toadie finds Willow with her suitcase about ready to escape to the airport hours before her flight even departs. Willow's still upset and says they're all better off without her there, which makes Toadie feel awful about the things he said.
WILLOW: What you said was true. What Mum and Nan did to Sonya, it's insane. You should be furious. I don't know how you can even stand to look at me let alone have me in your house.
TOADIE: You are not responsible for what your family has done.
WILLOW: But I have their DNA and I've been pulled into Mum's cons heaps of times including the time with you. What if I turn out just like them?
TOADIE: That's not going to happen.
WILLOW: It could.
TOADIE: No, no it's not because you are a good person. You have strong morals, and if you didn't Sonya wouldn't be alive right now. You have gone out of your way to help us time and time again and that's why we love you. We love you the same way we love Nell and Hugo, okay? We don't see you as one of them we see you as one of us.
Both Willow and Toadie are quite emotional by this stage as Toadie brings Willow in for a big, comforting hug.
Number 26
Gary puts the damaged chip back into the remote and explains to a disgruntled-looking Sheila that if the chip's fried it destroys any stored information. Sheila can't believe that Gary's got himself caught up with Kev and his cronies again.
SHEILA: I mean you are just like a goldfish with a two second memory.
GARY: I had no idea that the job was this dodgy and I certainly didn't know it was going to affect Amy.
SHEILA: None of that matters, Gary. You've got yourself a decent job, you've finally got yourself a girlfriend and you're going to put all that at risk to fast track a debt. I am going to wash my hands of you completely.
GARY: Yeah but you can't say anything to Amy.
SHEILA: Why shouldn't I?
GARY: Because this is it, after this I'm done. So what would be the point?
They stop talking when Amy walks in to say hi to Sheila and grab the remote to take to the cops. Sheila doesn't blab anything to Amy but stares daggers at her son.
Back Lane Bar
Chloe isn't thrilled with being the fifth wheel on their night out, especially when bucks and hens nights are being discussed. She opts to go to the bar and get everyone drinks - including a couple sneaky shots of tequila to steel herself with. Chloe looks longingly over at Elly having fun before downing the shots.
Number 26
Sheila shows Amy pictures of Clive's granddaughter on her phone as Gary gets back with takeaway for dinner. He asks Amy if the police got anything from the remote and then acts sad when Amy says it was busted. While Amy takes the food to dish up, Gary thanks Sheila for keeping his secret. But Sheila says she's not doing it for him, "It will break Amy's heart if she finds out the truth."
SHEILA: From now on I'm going to be watching you like a hawk.
GARY: So what's changed? (Sheila glares at him) You don't have to worry about it; I'm on the straight and narrow. I mean it.
SHEILA: Oh you always mean it, Gary. And then we always end up here. I'm warning you, you mess up again I will tell Amy everything.
Sheila walks off leaving Gary a mixture of relieved and rattled.
Back Lane Bar
Chloe chats to a guy who's on a night out with his water polo mates for Christmas. Over in a corner, a worried Elly watches her and asks the guys if they think Chloe's getting wasted. Mark says he's learned to keep his nose out of it and David says they're all keeping an eye on her anyway. Elly can't help herself though and goes over to try and convince Chloe to come back have fun with her family. But Chloe stubbornly says she'd rather hang out with the water polo dudes and tells Elly to stop being the fun police.
Erinsborough Hospital
Sonya is happy that Willow decided to come and say goodbye before she left. Willow hopes that Sonya will be able to go home for Christmas. The Rebecchis hope so too, but if not Toadie's going to bring Christmas to the hospital. Sonya then invites Willow to come and stay with them next Christmas - and New Year's for her baby bro's birthday.
SONYA: We love you, sweetie. You're welcome any and every time.
Willow looks pleased and Toadie gives her another hug.
Back Lane Bar
Elly is still worried about Chloe chatting to the water polo guy but Mark, Aaron and David tell her that Chloe will be fine; she just wants to switch off and relax. The gang decide to dance and Chloe can't help watching Elly's every move. Water polo dude asks Chloe if she wants to go back to her friends, but Chloe snaps out of it and says she'd rather "do this instead" leaning in to kiss him. She takes the guy's hand and says they should get out of there. Elly sees them leave and doesn't look impressed.
