Number 30
Alice puts the poisoned gardening gloves in Sonya's bag, telling Nell to keep away from it. Sonya and Toadie return home, while Alice disposes of her own gloves. Sonya sits down, hugging Nell. Toadie tells Sonya to rest, but she says wants to check in on the nursery. Toadie's organised for the nursery to be closed, for Nell to go to kindergarten and for Hugo to go to Susan's. Alice offers to do that, but Toadie insists as its Alice's day off. Toadie won't take any arguments from either of them. Sonya sends Nell off to get decorations for the Christmas tree. Sonya asks Alice to help. They decorate the Christmas tree as a family and she's part of the family. Alice looks uneasy, before staring at the gloves in Sonya's bag.
Lassiters Penthouse
Jane offers to get Paul a new compendium for Christmas. Paul appreciates the thought, but the one he has was his dads. He keeps it for sentimental reasons, it reminds him that family is the most important thing. He really appreciates Jane helping him wipe the slate clean with his kids. Jane suggests they organise a brunch for the whole family, tomorrow. They kiss. Jane offers to text everyone then head to bed.
Number 26
Gary gets a text from an unknown number reading: 'Car park on Hall Road, 9am, don't be late.'
Gary hides it when Amy arrives, asking if he got a text from Jane. Amy isn't sure about going. Gary would rather poke himself in the eye with a blunt stick. Gary says he has a new job tomorrow, as a delivery driver for a new company. Amy is impressed with him for getting this extra job.
Ramsay Street
Leo, Piper and Terese are heading out. They see the Rebecchis heading to their car across the street. Leo tells Terese he has to organise something to do with the Backpackers, but he will see her at brunch. Piper asks Terese if Leo seems on edge. Terese thinks its just work and the awkward brunch.
Sonya says goodbye to Toadie and Nell, as Toadie drives Nell to kindergarten. Alice says it's a glorious day, and it's a shame to be cooped up inside. Sonya thinks Toadie is right though, a couple of days on the couch won't kill her! She hopes Alice enjoys her day off.
Number 30
Alice arrives to see Sonya looking at a Christmas present under the tree. Alice tells Sonya it has been very kind of her to make her feel included in their Christmas, as Sonya hugs her. Alice says her plans were cancelled at the last minute, and hopes she won't bother Sonya. She tries to convince Sonya to go out and get some fresh air. Alice says she can go with her, and could even drop her off at the nursery.
ALICE: I will be right there with you to make sure nothing untoward happens.
SONYA: Haha, you're terrible Alice, I love it!
Alice takes some snacks and a thermos, while Sonya picks up her bag containing the gardening gloves, as they head out.
Rebecchi Law
Toadie arrives late, telling Piper that Nell was showing her every piece of art work she's drawn over the last month. Piper gives him a file which was couriered in and he needs to read before court. Toadie says he has an offsite meeting which popped up this morning. Piper is about to start a file about it, but Toadie tells her to hold off on it as for now its confidential. It involves someone they both know. Piper wonders what makes this one different, but Toadie won't tell her any details.
Car Park, Hall Road
Gary meets with a woman, Brit, who leaves the van with him, and tells Gary to deliver to an address in West Waratah. He can't use phones or Sat Navs, and tells him not to go looking in the back. Gary says the less he knows the better. Gary drives off.
The Waterhole, Exterior
Paul and Jane join Terese, who informs them that Leo will meet them there. Jane gets a message from Amy who says she and Gary can't make it. Apparently, David is busy working too. Leo arrives, apologising for being late, there were some issues which are now sorted. The intimate foursome, as Jane calls them, have a tense chat. Jane says this wasn't going to be easy but at least they are all there trying. Leo gets a message and has to leave suddenly. Terese explains he's been under a lot of stress.
Sonya's Nursery
As Sonya closes up the nursery, Alice apologises as she's accidentally taken an order. The client was apparently desperate to get roses today and Alice didn't want the nursery to lose any customers. Alice suggests she drive Sonya there, they'll be back in no time. Sonya agrees and goes to get the roses. Alice passes Sonya her bag, reminding her to take the gloves and looks on eagerly as Sonya puts the gloves on.
Number 26
Gary counts his money, before hiding it in the cutlery drawer when he hears Amy return home. Amy says she wanted to hear how the shift was. Gary nervously talks about the job. Amy says its nice to see Gary being so proactive.
Road
Alice pulls over Sonya's ute, as a plant has fallen off the back. Alice must not have closed the ute properly. As Sonya goes to pick it up, Alice makes Sonya put on the gloves again. Sonya asks Alice what she wants for Christmas. Sonya knows it will be hard for Alice having her daughter overseas. Sonya says she is more than welcome to stay at their house if she ever visits Erinsborough. Alice says they should have some morning tea. She makes Sonya take the gloves off as they eat some snacks. Alice watches intently as Sonya licks her fingers.
The Waterhole
Paul is drinking a scotch, looking dejected. Jane apologises for the brunch, it was a dumb idea. Paul leaves the room.
Road
Alice drives along, while Sonya looks really unwell. She asks Alice to pull the ute over, and opens the door, her stomach in incredible pain. She's having trouble breathing, and asks Alice to call an ambulance. As she reaches for her phone, Alice slaps her hand away.
ALICE: Sshh!
SONYA: What?
ALICE: If I call 000 then an ambulance might come and all my efforts would be wasted.
SONYA (in agony): What are you talking about?
ALICE: No one is coming!
Sonya stumbles out the ute and falls to the ground, crawling along the road, as Alice follows her. Sonya's phone starts ringing. Alice holds it out and shows Sonya that Toadie is calling, but tells her they'll let it go through to voicemail.
Rebecchi Law
Toadie hears a message asking Sonya to call him when she wakes up.
Road
Alice eats an apple by the ute, while Sonya falls unconscious.
Woods
Sonya is lying on the ground, while Alice sits watching her. She explains she poisoned Sonya.
SONYA (faintly): I don't understand.
ALICE: I thought if Jarrod found out who you really were, he would leave you. The same way you left him when you went on your bender last year!
SONYA (faintly): So you did this for Jarrod.
ALICE: No! For Jarrod and Hugo and me and Andrea. Because they deserve to be a family, we all do. A proper family.
SONYA (faintly): Andrea!
ALICE: Yeah, Andrea is my daughter! And she loves Jarrod in a way you never could because she would never ever ever leave him. Even Nell would be better off with Andrea and you know that yourself. She'll be taken care of and if she's a good girl she'll be fine, if not...
SONYA: Don't you touch her!
ALICE: Everyone will be better off. It's for the best, alright. Anyway, just so you know I'm not heartless. Here. The last time you'll hear his voice.
Alice plays Toadie's voicemail for Sonya, while she cries in agony and despair. Alice starts to cry.
ALICE: I'm sorry Sonya, goodbye.
Alice walks away, leaving Sonya to die in excruciating agony.
SONYA (weakly): Please!
