Lassiter's
Shane, Dipi, Yashvi and Kirsha are on the mezzanine doing the 'Christmas in July' photoshoot as part of their Face of Lassiter's duties, wearing reindeer antlers and red noses. Terese is presiding, and Leo turns up to talk to her about the hotel dismissal policy. He asks whether, if a staff member commits a crime or vilifies someone while not at work, they can still be fired.
TERESE: Leo, have you done something?
Leo assures her not. Terese replies that you'd have to have airtight proof that the staff member had caused significant damage to the hotel's reputation; after the furore over Courtney's unfair dismissal, she doesn't want any more dubious firings.
TERESE: Are you sure you haven't done anything?
Leo insists it's a hypothetical, and walks off.

Susan is visiting, and chats to Sheila and Clive. She asks Clive what he knows about multiple sclerosis therapies - and in particular remyelination therapy. Clive says it's been a buzzword for a couple of years, but that he believes early trials were inconclusive, although did show slight reversal in damage to the nerve coating. He says that could be a coincidence, though, and that nothing's been proven.
CLIVE: It's certainly not something I'd invest in, unless the results were stronger. Sorry, that's probably not what you want to hear.
SUSAN: No, no - that's fine. Thank you for your honesty.
Susan leaves.
The Handywoman
Amy is with Aaron at the yard, and reports to him that Robinson Heights sales are up, and that construction is on schedule. He can tell there's something wrong, though, and Amy admits she's still missing Jimmy.
AARON: Do you want me to get naked again, just to cheer you up? You know you just have to ask.
AMY: Thanks for the offer. But it'd only be a temporary fix.
Chloe turns up; she's running an errand for Aaron, picking up a watch from the jeweller's. It's an engagement present for David, to match the one David bought for him. Aaron suggests that Amy should go along with Chloe, to distract herself from Jimmy.
CHLOE: And to be honest, I probably do need supervision.
Amy agrees to come along.
Lassiter's
Mishti exits the lift, having been up on the mezzanine watching the Christmas in July photoshoot. She makes small-talk with Leo, but it's coldly received.
MISHTI: Look, I wanted to tell you -
LEO: If you're still after an apology, I -
MISHTI: No. Not at all. I removed you from my Find My Friends app. Sorry it look so long. I forgot about it - until the other day.
LEO: Well, thanks for letting me know.
Mishti leaves, and neither looks satisfied with how the conversation went.
Meanwhile, Chloe is trying to convince Amy to get changed before they go shopping, telling her that presentation is everything. Shopping, she adds, is something to be committed to "as a journey of discovery".
CHLOE: Are you with me?
AMY: Do I have a choice?
CHLOE: No!
They head upstairs to pick out an outfit.
Harold's Café
Leo sits down to chat to Xanthe, who is studying here to escape 'distractions' at home - namely, Cassius the gardener. Leo questions Xanthe about Marisa, asking if she recalls any time while they worked together at the hotel where Marisa behaved inappropriately while in uniform. Xanthe says she recalls Marisa being rude to staff members sometimes, but nothing like what she said to Yashvi.

Susan is struggling to open a jar of olives, so Karl hobbles over on his crutches to help. He suggests they go to see Bea at the garage after lunch. Susan agrees, but is clearly distracted by something else - and eventually admits that she's been looking into the remyelination trial. She's read Rita's research, and says it's given her hope about her MS.
SUSAN: I know it would be a huge undertaking for you, and we'd have to keep an eye on your hours and make sure that you were OK. But I think if there's a way that we can make it work, we really should. So I'm asking you to accept Rita's offer to run the trial - and I want to be a part of it.
Karl looks surprised and worried; and shortly afterwards, reminds Susan that the side effects of remyelination therapy are unknown. Even if the trial did go ahead, Susan might end up in the placebo group, meaning she wouldn't even benefit. But Susan retorts that even the jar of olives was a reminder that future relapses are inevitable for her.
SUSAN: And I wonder, what if I don't recover next time?
Karl reminds her that everyone struggles with jars - but Susan has her heart set on the trial possibly helping to reduce her symptoms, or even cure her. No matter how slim the chances, she feels she should go for it. Karl sighs, but agrees to give it a shot. Susan doesn't want his health to suffer as a result, but he says they can work through it.
Karl's worried about how Clive will react, however, as he doesn't think the scheme would run at the hospital with Clive in charge. Susan admits she sounded Clive out about the therapy earlier, though didn't mention Rita's trial.
SUSAN: As you predicted, he's not convinced (...) Are you sure there's no way we could just go around him?
KARL: (...) We're only just recovering from the MRI disagreement. The idea of going into battle against him again so soon, and - it's going to make for an interesting lunch with Clive and Sheila.
However, Karl says they can still go along to lunch and have a nice time, and discuss later how to tackle the remyelination scheme. Susan agrees, and they laugh excitedly.
The City™
Amy and Chloe have hit the shopping district - but Chloe is horrified when Amy admits she hates shopping! Amy says things were always tight when she was growing up with her mum - whereas for Chloe, shopping was Fay's way of spoiling the kids after the family split up. However, Chloe adds, she has had to vow to control her spending from now on because of her debts.
CHLOE: Which is why I need you here. If you spend your money on something amazing, then I can save my dollars and live vicariously through you!
Amy's unconvinced, though.
AMY: If Jimmy knew I was out here for something other than socks and undies, he'd get the shock of his life!
CHLOE: Nope - stop right there. If you've got any chance of getting through the next six months, you have to start seeing yourself as someone other than a mum - starting now.
Lassiter's
As the Rebecchis' photoshoot continues, Shane asks Leo if he's had any success finding a way to fire Marisa. Leo reports that it's tricky, but that he's still working on it. Shane goes to rejoin the shoot, and Yashvi switches out for a break - at which point Leo starts to question her. He says he's sorry about what happened with Marisa, and asks if she was wearing her hotel uniform while being racist.
Yashvi replies that she doesn't know, and doesn't want to get into it.
YASHVI: I confronted Marisa, I said my piece in Piper's vlog - I'm done. I just want to have a good day with my family.
Leo apologises to her, and lets her get back to the photoshoot with Shane, Dipi and Kirsha.

The Kennedys are with Sheila and Clive for their lunch. Clive asks about the meeting Karl was due to attend with Rita when they last spoke; Karl and Susan attempt to prevaricate, but Clive persists until Karl admits that Rita wants him to be involved in a remyelination therapy trial for MS.
CLIVE: Rita targeted you because of Susan?
SUSAN: Yeah. We were pretty thrown at the time too!
SHEILA: She really is a piece of work, that woman. I mean, no class at all, using you like that.
Susan states how keen she is to be involved in the trial, but Clive says it's the last thing the hospital needs after all the recent PR disaster.
CLIVE: The board won't be approving this for Erinsborough Hospital.
KARL: You can't be sure of that.
CLIVE: Meaning?
KARL: Well, are you sure that everyone on the board has a similar view? This would be a groundbreaking trial.
CLIVE: There's a whole range of factors to consider.
KARL: And by your own admission, you haven't considered them all.
CLIVE: (...) As COO, I have to put the interests of the hospital and the patients first.
Sheila interrupts by going to serve lunch, but the atmosphere in the room remains frosty.
The City™
Amy and Chloe are wandering around a clothes shop, but Amy's heart isn't in it. She wants to go to a café and get churros.
CHLOE: Are churros Jimmy's favourite, by any chance?
AMY: ...
CHLOE: You're trying something on.
AMY: Why would I try something on that I'm never gonna buy?
Chloe suggests they start small, and puts a necklace she's picked up around Amy's neck. Amy's surprised to find that she quite likes how the necklace looks on her.
CHLOE: You look so un-mumsy!
But at that moment, Jimmy calls, and Amy goes to answer it.

Mishti is reading on the sofa when Dipi, Shane, Yashvi and Kirsha come home from the photoshoot. Conversation moves on to Marisa, and Yashvi admits that Leo has been asking questions about her. Mishti hopes Leo isn't planning to do something stupid, and Dipi goes to call him. But Shane stops her, admitting that he asked Leo to find a reason to fire Marisa.
MISHTI: Why on earth would Leo agree to do something like this? He's on such thin ice at work.
SHANE: Yeah, but she could be a liability for Lassiter's. And I told him that, while I can't stop people having a go at you, I want to do everything I can to protect you - all of you.
Shane adds that he may have mentioned Mishti in his argument to Leo too, thereby guilt-tripping him. Mishti does not look pleased.
YASHVI: I love you guys, but I've said my piece about Marisa. And even if she did get fired, I don't think she's gonna change. And that's out of my control. I want to move on.
SHANE: I understand. Sorry I lost my head. I'll talk to Leo, and call him off.
MISHTI: No, don't. I'll do it.
Mishti walks out.
Paul's Penthouse
Chloe and Amy are hanging out after their shopping session, having successfully picked up the engagement watch for David. Amy thanks Chloe for keeping her entertained, and they agree they should hang out more together, before hugging.
It's at that moment that Chloe realises Amy is wearing the necklace from the shop, and assumes she bought it. But Amy realises she just forgot to take it off after her call from Jimmy! Feeling dreadful, she says she'll be taking it back.
CHLOE: If you must. But while you're there, you should buy it anyway. It really does look good.
Chloe departs in the lift, leaving Amy looking thoughtful.
No 26
Clive and Sheila are having a chat following their dinner with the Kennedys, which by all accounts was fairly awkward. Clive says he cares about Susan's health, but feels she's been sucked in by Rita's hype - and that Karl has been blinkered by his concern for Susan.
No 28
Karl and Susan have a similar conversation, as Susan expresses disappointment in Clive's lack of interest in the remyelination.
SUSAN: Are we being naïve here?
KARL: This therapy has a long way to go, but it's got a lot of potential. I don't think we should give up.
No 26
Sheila is supportive of Clive, saying he's in charge of hospital decisions. But Clive is worried that Karl will just keep pushing.
No 28
Karl concedes his friendship with Clive could be damaged permanently if they push ahead with the trial, and likewise, Susan's with Sheila. But...
KARL: I think it'll all be worth it if it gives you hope.
They hold hands.
Paul's Penthouse
Mishti comes to see Leo about the plan to get Marisa fired. He hasn't found any evidence against her, so is hoping just to reduce her shifts in order to drive her out.
MISHTI: Leo, you can't do that.
LEO: What she did was awful. And I agree with Shane; being kicked off the team is not enough.
MISHTI: Yeah, I feel the same. But it doesn't justify you tampering with company rosters.
LEO: Doesn't it? I mean, Yashvi is a Face of Lassiter's. It's not fair for her to be stuck in that position when we employ people like Marisa.
MISHTI: So this is only about Yashvi?
LEO: Maybe I also feel bad about what happened with Chloe, and hurting you.
MISHTI: You were right the other day. There is no need for an apology. And you don't owe me or my family anything. I appreciate you trying. You are a good man for doing all of this, whatever your motivation. But it still isn't right.
LEO: That's how you always saw me, isn't it? Not quite right.
MISHTI: I loved you, Leo. We simply have different values.
LEO: So what now? Are we one of those ex-couples that can still be friends?
MISHTI: Time will tell.
The Shed
Chloe goes to see Aaron, to give him the engagement watch for David - and reports that she had a great time with Amy.
CHLOE: She hates shopping, but she doesn't mind a little bit of the old five-finger discount!
AARON: What?!
CHLOE: She stole a necklace!
The City™
Amy has returned to the shop, and calls out for a staff member - but the place appears to be empty.
The Shed
Chloe assures Aaron that Amy only stole the necklace by accident, and has gone to return it.
CHLOE: Amy is way too straight to do something like that on purpose.
The City™
But at the shop, unable to find an assistant, Amy looks down at the necklace in her hand - and smiles, before hurrying out of the shop with it...
