Football venue
The match is over, and Yashvi makes it clear she's annoyed with Dipi for punching the other spectator - accusing her of distracting her and wrecking everything.
YASHVI: I looked like a total choker.
DIPI: I was only trying to help.
YASHVI: By breaking some guy's face?
TOADIE: Oh, no - it wasn't that bad - he just needed an ice pack...
Shane tries to mediate, and Dipi is apologetic, but Yashvi is fuming - as far as she's concerned, Dipi has blown her chance of being an AFL star.
Lassiter's Complex
Jane is walking through the courtyard - on the phone to Mrs Mangel!
JANE: No, Nan - I said tomorrow... Yes, tomorrow... Well, the outside is completely different now, remember? But the inside might still be the same... Yes. Yes, Nan, I will... I will, I'll look everywhere.
Meanwhile, Jimmy chats to Kirsha outside the café. He invites her to hang out with him and Poppy tomorrow. Kirsha queries whether it isn't weird her tagging along on Jimmy's date.
JIMMY: Nah. We'll be going to the movies. It'll be fun.
KIRSHA: Does Poppy know?
JIMMY: Oh, well, I haven't said anything. She'll be cool.
KIRSHA: Thanks, but I've got tutoring with Ms Harris.
JIMMY: Look, honestly, Poppy will be fine, okay? You're my best mate. You're the one who set us up. I just want you guys to be good mates, so we can all hang out together. Please?
Kirsha hesitates, but eventually agrees to swap her tutoring to another time - which Jimmy thinks is 'awesome'.
No 22
Terese and Gary are in the kitchen. She muses that she should start cooking for herself now she's on gardening leave - but Gary will believe it when he sees it!
He asks what she has planned for tomorrow; Terese is vague and evasive, eventually saying that she just wants to stay at home and read. When Gary tells her he has some time free in the morning and suggests they could spend time together, she attempts to put him off, claiming she doesn't want to get in the way of his work. Eventually, she agrees to brunch - but says Gary can cancel if he's busy.
GARY: Oh, I'll always find time for you, sweetheart.
They kiss, until Terese pulls away and Gary heads home. But the moment he's gone, Terese makes a phone call.
TERESE: Hi. Listen, I need your help with something.
Lassiter's Complex
Jane is having coffee outside the hotel, when Kirsha turns up. She explains that Jimmy's asked her to go to the movies with him and Poppy, and asks if she can move their tutoring session. Jane seems disappointed, and tries to talk to Kirsha into abandoning her plans with Jimmy.
JANE: You know, it can be tricky when some of your friends start dating before you do. I'd hate for you to feel pressured into being around more grown-up situations. Especially if it means neglecting your education.
KIRSHA: Yeah - sorry. You're right.
JANE: I don't mean to interfere - but if Jimmy really is your friend, then I'm sure he'd understand.
KIRSHA: ... Yeah. He will. Totally.
JANE: I'm glad... And just to check, no-one else will be home to interrupt our flow, will they?
KIRSHA: Nope. It's just gonna be us.
JANE: Wonderful.
The Flametree Retreat
Gary has just finished the breakfast orders. Steph asks how Terese is coping with her gardening leave; Gary says they're not as connected as they could be at the moment.
GARY: She was sort of weird with me last night, when we talked about hooking up today (...) Like, not that keen.
STEPH: No, Gary - she can't wait for you guys to live together (...) She's probably just missing work (...) She does love her job.
GARY: Which is all tied up with Paul.
STEPH: You're not worried about him, are you?
GARY: No, I'm just being stupid. It's all in my head.
Gary says he might head over to see Terese in the lull before the lunch rush. But Steph receives news that stops him in his tracks: Susan has ordered eight cauliflower pizzas! Gary is forced to cancel his brunch plans with Terese, and get back to work.
No 32
Mishti, Shane, Kirsha and Yashvi are having breakfast when Dipi comes in. An icy silence pervades the room, before Yashvi walks out, blanking her mum. Dipi asks if people think Yashvi is being a tad dramatic; but Shane says he's with Yashvi on this one, and Mishti says it sounds like Dipi overreacted at the footie match.
DIPI: I know I didn't set a good example, but I apologised to him afterwards.
MISHTI: You're lucky the guy isn't laying assault charges.
SHANE: Or that he wasn't more hurt. I mean, you could've seriously injured him or worse. Then who knows what kind of trouble you could have landed in.
DIPI: You know how hard it is for me when my protective instincts come out!
MISHTI: So what happened to staring at clouds, then?
DIPI: Sometimes, it's just not enough.
SHANE: I'm sorry, love, but you're gonna have to find some other way to deal with it. Because you can't keep behaving like that.
Harold's Café
Paul is on the phone to a contact.
PAUL: Yeah, the name's Andrea Somers. We need to find her as soon as possible... Okay, well, I'll send you what information we have... Okay, thanks, bye.
Paul returns to a table with Amy and Jimmy, where Jimmy reports that Kirsha has bailed on their movie plans. Amy reminds him that he can still go with Poppy, but Jimmy's sad that they can't all hang out together.
JIMMY: I think something's weird between them.
AMY: Why's that?
JIMMY: I dunno. Cos girls are *always* weird.
Amy resolves to think of a way to throw Poppy and Kirsha together. Jimmy explains that Kirsha had tutoring arranged for today, which she evidently hasn't managed to get out of.
JIMMY: Some lady offered her it for free.
AMY: Free tutoring, huh? Where do I find her?
JIMMY: I don't need it! I'm good! (...) Anyway, this lady sounds kind of strange. She used to live on Ramsay Street, like, a million years ago or something.
Paul correctly guesses that the lady is Jane Harris, explaining that she used to be his assistant back in the eighties. Amy seems keen to meet Jane; Paul says she already has, when she was little. He explains Jane used to live in No 32...

Jane is on the patio, looking around anxiously. Kirsha emerges from the house, and Jane tells her she's prepared a history quiz for her based on the Year 8 curriculum. Kirsha doesn't look keen initially, but agrees to give it a shot. Jane encourages Kirsha to put her headphones in and listen to some classical music, to help her focus.
JANE: You take as long as you like - there's no rush.
Jane heads inside the house, supposedly to make a coffee - but as soon as she's indoors, she starts looking around determinedly...
Lassiter's Lake
Toadie joins a despondent-looking Yashvi on a bench; she's upset about having missed her big kick in front of the football recruiter.
YASHVI: It's going to be on a loop in my brain forever.
TOADIE: At least no-one filmed it, so you won't be a meme!
YASHVI: ... Too soon, okay?
Toadie points out that everyone misses a kick at some point, but that the pros don't drop their bundle as a result.
TOADIE: So chin up, shake it off - there is always next week.
Yashvi continues to look glum. Toadie remarks that his pep talk hasn't worked. She manages a smile.
No 32
Jane is sneaking around the house looking for something, tapping on walls and under cupboards. She is holding what look to be polaroid photos as some kind of reference. Clancy growls at her.
JANE: You keep my secret and I'll keep yours. I'm sorry to be in your house like this - but I promise you, what I'm doing is very important.
No 28
Gary is delivering Susan's eight cauliflower pizzas, expressing surprise at the size of the order. She says she's stocking up on healthy, convenient meals! However, when Karl emerges and learns that the pizzas will cost $240, he is absolutely furious.
SUSAN: They *are* organic.
KARL: I don't care if they're gold-plated!
GARY: (...) There's something not right about this.
KARL: Yeah, I'll say! These have to go back!
Gary wonders if it's some kind of practical joke, but Susan assures him it isn't.
KARL: I'm not paying for these!
SUSAN: Karl, calm down!
KARL: Well, why would you do something so preposterous?!
Karl's fury forces Susan to admit that all is not as it seems - and that Terese is behind this.
SUSAN: I'm sorry, Gary. She asked me to place the order.
Gary looks baffled.

Jane is frustrated to see that Kirsha has completed her quiz quicker than she hoped, cutting short her snooping! But another opportunity presents itself, as Kirsha explains the school has set her a local history project, and suggests they can work on that.
JANE: Actually, that's a very good idea. And I have the perfect subject for you. This house! All of the people who have lived here, and all of the changes that have been made.
KIRSHA: Changes?
JANE: Yes, all of the renovations! And I would be the perfect person to help you.
At this point, Jane's plans are further frustrated by the arrival of Amy, with Jimmy and Poppy. As Amy introduces herself to Jane as Paul's daughter, Poppy gives Kirsha a dirty look. It turns out Amy is furthering her plan to help Jimmy get Kirsha and Poppy spending time together - she says Dipi has said they can all go for a swim in the yard, since Kirsha's tutoring must surely be over by now!
Kirsha agrees to show Poppy the pool, while Jimmy goes to get changed. Jane looks annoyed that her plans have been disrupted. On the way to the pool, Poppy makes a nasty remark to Kirsha.
POPPY: I hope you haven't got your period.
Meanwhile, Amy tells Jane that Jimmy has been worried about the girls getting along, which was her motivation for bringing Jimmy and Poppy around. Jane is keen for Amy to go and supervise the kids so she can get back to snooping, but Amy wants to have a cuppa and hear all Jane's stories about Paul when he was younger. Jane grits her teeth and smiles!
Lassiter's Complex
Steph runs into Gary, surprised at how long his delivery to Susan took. He explains that Terese got Susan to put the order in.
GARY: She obviously wanted to keep me busy, so I couldn't see her.
STEPH: No! No, that all sounds a bit elaborate.
Gary says he tried going to Terese's house to find out why, but she wasn't there - despite saying she was having a day at home - and hasn't been answering her phone. At that moment, they see Terese and Paul inside the hotel, getting into the lift. Gary is beside himself.
Harold's Café
Dipi tries to apologise again to Yashvi for her behaviour at the football match.
YASHVI: I don't want to hear it! Imagine if I started a riot at one of your theatre shows!
DIPI: I just got so emotional watching you play. Hey, you're brilliant, you know?
YASHVI: Am I? Pity I blew it in front of that recruiter, then.
At that moment, Shane turns up, with the football recruiter, Jaida, in tow. She introduces herself and says she was very impressed with Yashvi's performance, particularly for a new starter.
JAIDA: If you keep improving, we might look at you for next year's draft.
YASHVI: (...) Even though I missed that kick?
JAIDA: Happens to everyone!
YASHVI: Wow, this is the best. I'm going to try so hard. You have no idea!
Dipi and Shane are super-excited for her.
Lassiter's Complex
Steph buys Gary a herbal tea, and encourages him not to go upstairs and confront Terese and Paul - saying it probably isn't how it looks.
GARY: I can't handle being lied to again. If Terese wants to be with Paul, she could've at least had the guts to say it to my face.
STEPH: No, Gary - come on. Terese wants you to move in with her!
GARY: You should have seen them last week. So charged up about a work argument.
STEPH: No, that's just work!
GARY: Oh, not for them! That kind of heat only leads to one place!
STEPH: Gary, stop - Terese loves you!
GARY: Jack said he loved you, right before he ran off with his ex, didn't he?
Gary immediately apologises. Steph looks hurt but lets the comment slide, as Gary's in a state. At that moment, Terese and Paul appear on the balcony of the mezzanine together. Assuming the worst, Gary says he won't be made an idiot of again, and storms towards the hotel to confront them.
No 32
Shane, Dipi and Yashvi arrive home in celebratory mood, to tell Kirsha the good news about the football recruiter being interested in her. Shane asks how it went with Jimmy and Poppy; Kirsha puts on a brave face, and says it was fine. Meanwhile, Yashvi still looks annoyed with Dipi.
DIPI: I am so happy that my stuff-up didn't ruin things for you. I am going to be a model citizen at your next match.
YASHVI: ... Yeah, you don't need to come.
DIPI: But I want to support you.
YASHVI: If you really want to support me, then you should stay away. You always lose your head under pressure.
DIPI: But I want to see you play!
YASHVI: Sorry. But this is my career. I can't take any risks.
DIPI: Really, Vi, I won't do anything -
YASHVI: Mum, your form is really bad. I don't want you at my games.
Lassiter's
Gary storms onto the mezzanine to confront Terese, demanding to know why she's been with Paul. He says Susan spilled the beans about Terese getting her to order all the pizzas to distract him.
GARY: If you and him are back on again, at least have the guts to -
TERESE: No! No, of course not! Not in a million years. You should know that, Gary!
GARY: Terese, I'm not an idiot.
TERESE: I know! And I'm sorry! I haven't made this easy. And yes, I did get Susan to keep you busy. But there's a really good reason, I swear.
She gestures over to a table for two on the terrace, which is covered with rose petals.
TERESE: I wanted it to be perfect (...) Okay, I'll just say it now. Gary Canning - my beautiful man - I know we've already had one shot at getting married...
GARY: Terese, I -
TERESE: Shh. We've had one shot. And I stuffed up. But I want the world to know that we're committed, and... and that I love you desperately. Gary - will you marry me?
