Erinsborough Hospital
Karl meets with Clive in his office, but instead of being reprimanded for the stolen files he's offered a job on the research trials. Clive felt bad about Karl's dismissal, so he put together a small budget and a few interns for Karl to work with starting next week. Karl realises Clive has no idea Holly stole the files so he plays along and accepts the job. Karl offers to swing by the lab and sort out the files (so he can slip the stolen ones back in), but Clive says the interns are on it already.
Harold's Café
Gary strolls out of the bathroom and offers Dipi and Shane a cheeky hello out of nowhere, which confuses them. Yashvi wants to talk footy with her Uncle Toad but he's swamped with work. Dipi shoos her daughter away so Toadie's not disturbed, but then sits down for a chat herself. She's concerned he's working too much to try and earn back the $100,000 Andrea absconded with, but Toadie says he's just scored a big contract with Rita Newland. He and Sonya also plan to sell their share of the boat. Two girls walk out of the bathroom and start giggling at Dipi and Shane, making them even more confused.
The Waterhole
Sheila's trying to get some hints from Clive about what her big surprise is going to be that he has planned, but Clive isn't giving anything away. He changes the subject and asks Sheila how she thinks her VCE results went, but Sheila gets her hackles up and thinks it's a dig at her memory issues (which he knows nothing about). She rushes off to the back room just as Gary walks in. Clive asks him if Sheila's OK but Gary acts evasive and says his mum's fine.
Number 28
Karl arrives home to Holly and Susan and tells them that he's handled everything. Holly offers to apologise to Clive but Karl says she's done enough already. Once Holly's out of earshot though, Karl admits to Susan that Clive offered him a job and is none the wiser about the stolen files. Susan's appalled by the turn of events and doesn't understand why Karl didn't tell the truth. Karl says he thought about it but didn't want Clive to withdraw the job offer.
SUSAN: So all Holly has learnt is there are no consequences for what she's done? It's exactly the same as her mother. She's already got one bad role model in Isabelle; do you want to be another one?
KARL: Of course not. I just want this opportunity to help people; there could be some very valuable information in those files.
SUSAN: What, so the end justifies the means? Where are the files now?
KARL: I've still got them.
SUSAN: Karl it's only a matter of time before someone realises they're gone. And then when it gets out that your daughter stole them and you covered up for her that can only end in one way. I hope you're prepared for the consequences.
Harold's Café
Steph chats with Shane and congratulates him on his good VCE marks for the term. Meanwhile, Mark saunters out of the loo and offers Dipi a wink-wink-nudge-nudge greeting just like Gary. Shane says it happens every time someone comes out of the bathroom. Dipi goes in to investigate and finds a photo of her and Shane in their retro costumes with Shane sprawled over Dipi's lap ready for a spanking. The Rebecchis are baffled as to who would have put the photo there but Steph doesn't do a very good job of acting innocent and Dipi demands to know who's behind the prank.
Lassiter's Complex
Toadie emerges from his office just as Dipi and Shane angrily walk over and tell him they know about his dumb joke. Toadie doesn't know why they can't just lighten up and laugh about it, but Shane reminds him that the café is Dipi's business and it doesn't need Toadie's shenanigans impacting on it. Toadie reminds them they spent his client's money on their theatre costumes, so if they mess with his business he's going to mess with theirs. Shane frowns and tells Toadie, "This is war."
The Waterhole
Clive sneaks over to Paige and asks if Terese is still cool with the surprise he has planned for Sheila. Paige says everything is fine but just wants to know one thing.
PAIGE: Can you just remind me of the singer's name again?
CLIVE: Ross Wilson from Daddy Cool.
PAIGE: Right, Ross Wilson. And Daddy Cool's the name of the band?
CLIVE: You don't know Ross Wilson?
PAIGE: I don't... should I?
CLIVE: He was the lead singer of Daddy Cool and Sheila's his biggest fan.
PAIGE: No, I got that.
CLIVE: So I know his manager. He owes me a few favours and pulled a few strings.
Paige says the gesture is very romantic and Clive thanks her again for getting everything organised at the pub for him. Holly walks in looking for Xanthe but finds out she's not working. She looks uncomfortable around Clive and says "thanks and sorry" to him, but Clive doesn't get what she's on about. Holly's confused and says she's talking about Karl, but Clive just assumes she's happy that Karl has his job back again.
Lassiter's Complex
Gary delivers seven vegan pizzas to Toadie, who is surprised by the delivery but then registers that it's prank retaliation from Shane and Dipi (who are spying on him from the café). He's annoyed about the bill and glares at his family as he pays.
The Waterhole
Gary hauls Sheila outside on the premise of checking the plants so Clive can escort Ross Wilson and another band member in to set up. Clive introduces Ross to Paige and then explains to Ross that Sheila's his number one fan. Paige tells Ross that if he has any questions or problems then she's happy to help.
ROSS: Maybe you'd like to make the first request?
PAIGE: I am so sorry, I actually didn't know who you were until Clive told me so I don't know any of your songs! No offence.
ROSS: None taken. My own kids don't even know my songs.
Meanwhile outside, Toadie has called Shane over for a beer and to apologise and ask for a truce to their prank war. Shane says it's a deal but when Toadie passes him a beer, he exchanges it for the one Toadie has instead. Joke's on Shane, though, as Toadie knew he'd do that and Shane ended up with the one spiked with Tabasco sauce anyway. Shane guzzles down a big jug of water and storms off.
Sheila yells at Gary for wasting her time and storms back into the pub. She's gobsmacked to find Ross Wilson waiting inside for her and sits down with Clive and Paige to enjoy Ross's first song, Eagle Rock. For the next song Ross invites Sheila to get up and sing with him. Gary says he'll film the whole thing and send it to Sheila's nemesis Joanne but when Ross starts to play Sheila suddenly can't remember the words. Embarrassed and in a panic, Sheila rushes off to hide in the back room.
Harold's Café
Yashvi's super excited that her parents have asked her for her prank expertise to get Toadie back. She thinks they should cling wrap his car like he did to Shane's a while back, but she also suggests gladwrap on the toilet seat, prawns in the curtains and dye in his shampoo. Dipi says her daughter is "terrifyingly good at this." But it turns out that Shane has come up with an idea he wants to try out and whispers it to his family.
Number 28
Holly looks at a flier for Erinsborough High's student exchange program with a school in China while Susan finishes up a phone call with Libby about it. Holly asks Susan about her dad's new job and Susan explains that Karl decided not to say anything to Clive about the stolen files.
HOLLY: (smiling) Then everything worked out OK. Dad got what he wanted and I'm not in trouble.
SUSAN: That's really not the point, Holly. Eventually someone is going to realise those files are missing and that will put your dad in a very difficult position.
HOLLY: Why can't he just say that I took them?
SUSAN: Because he wants to protect you.
HOLLY: I'm really sorry. I never meant for anything like this to happen. I just wanted to help him.
SUSAN: I know.
HOLLY: I don't really care if I lose my work experience placement, but if I got dad in trouble...
SUSAN: Well unfortunately I think it might be a bit late for that. But your dad got himself into this mess and he's going to have to get himself out.
Erinsborough Hospital
Holly is just about to enter the research room and put the files back when a nurse steps out and asks what she's up to. Holly lies and says she left her phone charger here earlier and had to come back and get it. But the nurse notices the folder in her bag and asks what she's hiding.
The Waterhole
Clive tells Gary he's worried because Sheila didn't even say goodbye to Ross and asks what's going on. Sheila finally comes out of hiding and admits to Clive that she keeps forgetting really important things, like the fact that Ben has moved to Oakey. She's worried it's the beginning of Alzheimer's because her grandmother had and it could run in the family. Clive reassures her that the memory loss could be attributed to any number of things and the best thing to do is run some tests to find out what's wrong. Just then, Clive gets a phone call from the hospital about Holly and says he'll be right in.
Erinsborough Hospital
Holly sits next to Karl as he tries to explain to Clive that he wanted to tell the truth but the timing wasn't right. Clive's disappointed in Karl and says he's put him in an extremely difficult position. Holly says it was all her fault and Clive tells her that her hospital placement is over.
CLIVE: And Karl if you had just been honest with me from the beginning, but you covered for Holly, you withheld information from me... I mean this is a breach of protocol I can't ignore. I'm going to have to remove you from the project.
HOLLY: What? You're making a mistake. Look to be honest I really don't care if I'm here or not, but dad loves this place. He cares about everybody here, the patients and the staff. You should know that better than anybody else. Shouldn't his years of hard work stand for something? And yeah, OK, he made a silly mistake to protect me. Wouldn't you do the same thing for your kids? Please don't punish him because I did the wrong thing.
Clive appears to be considering Holly's plea.
Harold's Café
Dipi brings out a chocolate cake for Toadie and encourages him to have a slice while Shane and Yashvi look on. Toadie's suss and says it probably has laxatives in it but Dipi says she wouldn't do something like that. But when Toadie leans down to smell it, Shane pushes his brother's face right into the cake. This starts up a massive food fight between the Rebecchis, but right at that moment Rita Newland decides to walk in and gets a huge chunk of cake right in the face. Toadie's horrified.
RITA: (fuming) Is this your idea of a joke, Mr Rebecchi?
TOADIE: Rita I'm so sorry!
RITA: Yes, I'll expect you'll be very sorry.
Toadie attempts to wipe some cake off her face but she growls at him not to touch her.
