Ramsay Street
It's a busy morning on the street as Yashvi heads off with Clancy while Sheila sends Dipi off on a walk (with the promise she'll catch up) as Terese wants a word first. Terese is upset that Sheila was wrong, there is something going on between Gary and Brooke and is sure something is happening. "Are you sure?" Sheila asks and Terese replies that he lied to her over where he'd been.

TERESE: And then he bought me flowers.
SHEILA: Argh, guilt flowers.

Number 24
Before Mark heads inside to make brekkie after cleaning the pool, Elly is bemused when he offers to educate Jack on a push present. Yes, I was bemused too until Mark explains it's basically a reward for getting through the labour and giving birth, and no the baby apparently is not a reward! "We so don't have that sort of relationship," Paige replies but thinks the idea itself is sweet. Jokingly Mark promises Paige a pressie (to be left in the kitchen) for finding her toes and she reminds him that she loves chocolate!

Hospital
When they meet in the corridor, Leo brings Paul and Amy up to speed on how David is doing - he's keen to get back on his feet which is a good sign Leo adds. They then chat about the backpackers and the council seem to be dragging their heels with the paperwork for some certificate that is required.

Terese then runs into them and reports that Piper has got through her second operation and should hopefully be starting physio soon. She's after some paperwork from Leo to allow her to start an insurance claim (she wants only the best care for Piper rather than the basics the TAC provide) and Paul steps in to point out that Leo has already said he will take care of everyone but things do take time.

Once she leaves, Leo isn't too amused at Paul standing up for him, or offering handle Terese if she comes to see him again, forcefully reminding him that he can fight his own battles.

Number 26
In the backyard, Gary and Brooke make plans on how they are going to talk to Jessie when she lands in Melbourne on the 17th. The plan is for Gary to distract Brian while they are at the baggage carousel so Brooke and try to slip Jessie her phone number so they can chat later. Gary wonders if contacting her at the hotel might be better except Brooke doesn't know where they are staying. "We're not done yet," Gary reassures her with and goes to hug her just as Sheila comes into the backyard and spots them.

Sheila isn't at all amused and tells them, "this had better not be what it looks like," and Gary pleads that it isn't, they were talking... about Xanthe. She is then further unamused when it comes out that Gary has been with Brooke and gives him one of her glowers before stomping off!

Backpackers
Yashvi is digging a hole in the ground beside the backpackers. She's almost caught when the dog runs away to Jimmy/Kirsha who were walking by - they are very surprised to see the dog especially as it has its lead on too.

Lassiters Complex
As they walk through the complex chatting about Mark, Elly reminds Paige that he is simply her friend because the way she was speaking about him, you'd think it was more than friendship. "Yes, I know that," Paige acknowledges and follows that with a determined, "we are just friends," when Elly thinks boundaries have been crossed. "Has he said something to you?" Paige asks and Elly replies no but points out that Mark is very vulnerable just now and doesn't want him to get hurt.

PAIGE: I would never do that.
ELLY: Not intentionally, no.
PAIGE: Listen, we are just friends okay and in case you haven't noticed, I'm the one with the small child growing inside me.

Elly apologises and the pair head continue their walk.

Police station
Ellen brings Mark a coffee when she calls into the station to confirm her back to work programme (2 shifts a week) and yes, she is still regularly attending the counselling sessions which she admits, actually help.

After giving Mark her sympathies about the loss of Caitlin, she gets back to business mode by asking him to bring her up to speed on hit and run investigation aka the Backpackers accident. Mark says that Amy is in the clear but he can't yet verify T-Bone's alibi. He is unamused when Ellen suggests a fresh pair of eyes should review the case although it's more because she's suggesting that his professional judgement is clouded because of personal involvement by knowing the people involved.

Number 26
Gary wants to do the right thing and come clean with Terese but Brooke is fearful about folk knowing about her plan especially if they try and stop them. "I need to see Jessie," she pleads and suggests he just reassures Terese and come up with some sort of cover story but he doesn't want that and heads out of the house intent on coming clean.

Sonya's Mayoral office
Mark pops in to check how Sonya is doing and she is busy working. Before he goes, he hands her over a gift - a forget me not flower necklace to help remember lost loved ones. "That's beautiful," she replies while thanking and hugging Mark.

Hospital
Taking a break from being with David, Leo and Elly catch up with each other in the waiting area. She thinks he's been busy rebuilding but Leo explains there has been a delay and admits that he's fed up thinking about it. Elly volunteers to nag someone on the phone for him but he doesn't appreciate the offer.

ELLY: It's okay to have a least one freak out.

We then find out why he's freaking out - he has no insurance because he missed the payment when he was caught up trying to buy Amy out.

LEO: I was so messed up about everything that I wasn't thinking straight.
ELLY: Okay, what does this mean for the business?
LEO: Well, it will probably ruin me.

Ramsay Street
As they pull up in a courtesy car to #26, Amy tells her dad not to dwell on Leo snapping at him, he is just really stressed out. Paul gets that but wishes he'd let him help out, and Amy remarks that Leo is very stubborn wonders where Leo gets that from, however Paul refuses to take the credit for that! "Its not your fault dad," she laments as they get out of the car.

They spot Jimmy back from his walk and he tells them about remembering something Yashvi told him before the accident - about being able to drive and going bush bashing out in the country. "I don't want to get her in any trouble," he adds as Paul gets out his phone to call the police to let the authorities deal with it. Amy reassures Jimmy he's done the right thing telling her as it's "something the police need to know about."

Police station
Mark is interviewing Jimmy but he can't remember Yashvi's exact words but it was along the lines of how easy it would be to drive Amy's Ute. The lad adds that if Yashvi had made it clear she was going to drive it, he would have told his mum straight away and confirms to Mark that she didn't ask for the keys either. Interview over and Mark agrees to Amy's request to keep Jimmy's name out of it if possible.

After they've exited the room, Ellen rushes in to tell Mark that someone has called in to say they remember seeing a kid running away from the scene and basically gives Yashi's description. Not surprisingly Mark has guessed who it could be and Ellen remarks that he "has a prime suspect afterall."

Harold's Cafe
Sheila has to try and get Paige's attention to serve her as she is too busy laughing at something Mark has sent her.
She then asks if she and Mark are back on. "No," Paige replies and then wonders why she said that.

SHEILA: I wouldn't be surprised I mean he wants a baby, you're having a baby, you're living together...
PAIGE: It's not like that Sheila.
SHEILA: If you say so!

Meanwhile at a table, Paul has obviously told Terese who is responsible for the accident.

TERESE: So all this because some kid wanted to show off?
PAUL: Mmm. Yip, never underestimate the destructive power of stupidity.

Terese then laments that the injuries Piper has sustained could affect her for the rest of her life and Paul reassures her she is getting great care.

Paul and Gary swap places and he straight away tells Terese nothing is happening with Brooke. "That's not what it looked like to me," she points out and he reaffirms that she's the only one he is interested in. She wants to know why he can't tell her the truth, so he explains that its Brooke's business with her other daughter and promised her not to say to anyone what was going on. "Alright," she casually replies but he's not sure if it means she understands or he's still in trouble - he obviously didn't see the smile on her face that came with her reply!

TERESE: What do you think?!
GARY: Well I'm an eternal optimist so I'm hoping its option A.
TERESE: ...
GARY: If Jessie wasn't Xanthe's half-sister I wouldn't be doing any of this.

Finally, Terese tells says "I believe you," but adds a warning that he can't let Brooke cause trouble between them although Gary is quick to remind her of Paul's interference too. Eventually they compromise - he will keep Brooke in line and she will stay away from Paul. Gary asks when he will see her next but Terese has a higher priority just now - Piper and can't focus on anything else until she knows the lass will be okay.

TERESE: I think we should just focus on our own families in the meantime.

Number 30
Sonya shows Steph the necklace that Mark bought for her and she too thinks it's beautiful but doesn't think he bought it for Sonya as a friend.

STEPH: I think it means more to him than that. I think, I think you mean more to him than that.

Sonya wants to know if Mark has said anything to her and eventually Steph reveals what Mark said to her - that he is in love with her. With a roll of her eyes, Sonya describes that as "crazy." "Is it really?" Steph asks and Sonya reiterates that they are just close friends.

STEPH: Isn't friendship part of love?
SONYA: It's not the same.
STEPH: Okay, so then if there were no history and both of you had a clean slate you wouldn't be interested?
SONYA: No. No, Mark and I are friends and that is all we will ever be.

"I thought we had resolved all of this," Sonya then says and Steph wishes she'd not said anything but Sonya is glad she did.

SONYA: You know he's not in love with me, he's, he's just grieving over the baby and he's just confusing all these feelings inside his head.
STEPH: Yes, you're probably right. So, what are you going to do?
SONYA: Well I'm going to tell him that the necklace is beautiful but that I can't accept it.

Number 32
Mark calls round and asks Dipi if Yashvi is home (she isn't), then when will she be back (not sure) so asks for her to let him know when she is. Dipi is curious to know why he's after her daughter so he asks if she's ever been in trouble with the police and she's quick to reply no, she is simply a prankster. "What sort of pranks are we talking about?" Mark asks and is told "silly things you know like putting plastic spiders in Kirsha's bed or stealing my lucky statue and putting it in an odd place." That last bit immediately gets his attention and he asks for a description of the lucky statue.

(Later)

Dipi finds her daughter in the backyard having (unseen by mum) just buried something in the soil. She wants to know where Yashvi has been (around) and why Kirsha took the dog home (he got away from her). Their conversation is interrupted when Leo comes into the backyard.

LEO: Are you Yashvi?
DIPI: I'm her mother, can I help you with something?
LEO: That depends on whether she's responsible for the accident or not.
YASHVI: What?!
LEO: Did you try and drive Amy's Ute and lose control? Is that what happened?
YASHVI: No, no way.
DIPI: I'm sorry but where is this coming from?
LEO: Paul told me. Look if Yashi's responsible.
YASHVI: (interrupting) I didn't do anything. I didn't touch Amy's Ute.

Dipi insists that Paul's information is wrong, it wasn't Yashvi and insists on Leo leaving! "This isn't over," he says before leaving.

Yashvi seems to think that Leo's visit has been a joke but Dipi isn't laughing and orders her inside "now!"

Number 24
Paige arrives home and spots a bag of chocolates that is meant for her - Mark obviously got the hint she left him! She then spots nearby the returned pressie from Sonya, along with the card saying I'm here for you, no matter what. Love Mark xxx and thinks it's for her!

Number 32
Dipi questions her daughter about the accident but Yashvi strenuously denies that she was responsible.

"I really hope you're telling me the truth," she tells Yashvi before going to see who is knocking at the door. "I am," the frustrated lass cries while her mum goes to answers the door.

The caller is Mark and he's got something to show them - the statue of Ganesh. "Is this your lucky statue?" he asks and Dipi confirms it is before asking where he found it. Mark replies the glove box of Amy's Ute and announces that he needs to talk to Yashvi about her movements that day.
