Robinsons motel, Dee's room
Dee is trying to get to the bottom of why Willow won't eat her brekkie when Toadie calls by to deliver news that Willow has been accepted into South East Grammar, subject to the fees being paid which he will have the cheque for next week. Dee is literally over the moon while Willow barely raises a smile, so she tries to say that Willow has been off-colour since she came home from school yesterday and perhaps needs to see a doctor, so Toadie volunteers to drive her on his way to work.
Lassiters Complex
Elly sits staring at the photo and gets out her phone to call Angus but it fails.
Meanwhile, Willow has been to the docs and her symptoms indicate stress, so Toadie suggests she takes the day off school but she'd rather go in as she's stuff to do. He then mentions how underwhelmed her reaction was to getting into South East Grammar and when she again doesn't give any reaction, he suggests that she's just gone flat now that she's gotten in. Again, Willow still doesn't react and instead simply thanks him for taking her to the doctors and goes to head to school.
Toadie then spots his wife/Mark sitting in her Ute - she is telling Mark that the appointment with the obstetrician is now this afternoon. Sonya tells him not to get time off, they're simply discussing the scan results but if they do decide to go for the amniocentesis then she'd like him with her then.
Rebecchi Law
Steph is back from her trip with Victoria and Toadie asks if things are going well and she replies "its early days" but things are going well. After asking if Sonya was in when she got home (she wasn't), he asks if she broke things off with Mark because she was worried that Mark/Sonya were getting too close? "Not in a way that I felt would threaten your marriage," she replies and explains that she thought he was prioritising the baby/Sonya.
STEPH: You and Sonya are really solid. Right? I was never that secure with Mark. Who knows anyway? Maybe I was, um... maybe I was always meant to be with a woman?
TOADIE: Who knows who you're meant to be with?
School
Susan is trying to get Piper to admit that Willow was also involved in the fake ID scam but she's keeping quiet and is told she will have to wait until later to hear what her punishment is.
"So what now?" Elly asks after Piper has left the room and Susan wants to know why she suspects Willow is involved, so she repeats what Tyler told her - that he saw her pass a bag to Piper at the backpackers and when quizzed, Piper was very cagey. Brad volunteers to talk to Tyler and Susan suggests that they reconvene tomorrow to discuss the matter again.
Before she leaves the office, Elly subtly asks Susan for Angus' number on the pretence a student was after it, and Susan agrees to call Sarah later to get it.
Robinsons motel, Victoria's room
Steph arrives back at the motel and walks into the middle of Victoria/Ellen having a set to with each other. Ellen doesn't appreciate Steph being there but Victoria wants her to stay.
ELLEN: Is this really someone you want in our daughter's life? A psych patient with a criminal record? Not even allowed to see her own children?
Naturally Steph takes objection to how she's been referred to, but it isn't stopping Ellen, who then emotionally tries to blackmail Victoria by saying if she "really cared about Josie, then you wouldn't be doing this." Victoria tells Ellen to stop using Josie an excuse, she is an adult and asks her to leave "because it's over."
VICTORIA: It is over.
School
Willow comes over to talk to Piper when she spots her at her locker but is told to go away as Elly is nearby (she's talking to some other students behind them). When she finishes with the students, Elly walks over to Piper and tells her that she gets her holding out to protect Willow, but blackmail isn't the way to go about things. Piper hasn't a clue what she is talking about but Elly still thinks it's her and her parting words are "play it your way" before she walks off.
Rebecchi Law
Willow has decided to play the 'day off school' card being offered earlier and opens up to Toadie by telling him that she doesn't feel sick, just the whole being at school thing.
TOADIE: Right, well yeah, I can imagine it would be difficult for someone who's been home-schooled.
WILLOW: Most of the time I... it feels like I'm pretending to be someone I'm not.
TOADIE: Yes, well we all feel that way sometimes.
He reminds her she's not been at Erinsborough High long and that perhaps things will change when she goes to the new school.
WILLOW: Or maybe I'll always feel like a massive imposter?
Toadie gives her a pep talk and Willow wishes she'd got to know him sooner. "Me too, kiddo," he replies with a smile on his face.
WILLOW: It's been hard just me and mum, 'cos let's face it, she's a bit of a flake.
TOADIE: You don't need to bag your mum, what happened to her isn't her fault.
WILLOW: Not all of it.
TOADIE: She raised you and you are without a doubt, the single best thing to come out of all of this.
WILLOW: Maybe I'm not as great as you think I am.
TOADIE: Okay all right, all right, enough of the trash talk. You are amazing and I am very, very proud of you and even if you weren't going to be Australia's first female fighter pilot, I would still love you.
They then hug and Willow says "I love having a dad like you."
Garage
Steph comes to collect her bike from the garage but is told that it isn't there. The not exactly helpful mechanic (Keith) replies that it was parked out the front and assumed she'd already collected it.
Harold's café
Elly is trying to get to the bottom of the photo Willow gave her and has worked out it has been photoshopped together from two separate photos.
Steph catches Mark when he comes in to get a coffee, to tell him that Ellen has stolen her bike after she went to collect it from the garage.
STEPH: Its police harassment Mark, it's got to stop.
Mark thinks her suggestion is crazy and she agrees that it is crazy because the woman is insane with jealousy! He agrees with her that Ellen has been erratic but doesn't think she stole the bike. Steph reminds him that Ellen has threatened them both and although she'd rather not have involved him, wants something done as her bike is missing. Mark agrees to go to the garage and check the CCTV.
Garage
Mark comes to talk to the unhelpful mechanic about Steph's missing bike and lo and behold it's now sitting outside the front of the garage! Mr Unhelpful puts it down to Steph making a mistake and when Mark goes to talk a call from Sonya, he heads inside the garage where Ellen is!
Ellen has conned the mechanic into thinking messing around with the bike is part of some high-level undercover operation, which Mark isn't privy to, and he's to stick to the confidential plan (regardless of what Steph says) that the bike was there the whole time.
ELLEN: It's good to know we can count on you.
School
Elly shows Susan the photo that Willow is blackmailing her with and the two separate photos which shows that it is a fake. Susan is more concerned for reputations, both the schools and Elly's, if it gets out and wants to get Dee in for a chat.
The Waterhole
Sonya reports back to Mark that the obstetrician wants her to undergo an amniocentesis and it's scheduled for tomorrow. Mark reminds her she said (at the beginning) she didn't want an amnio but Sonya thinks that they need to be prepared. He also asks Sonya not to tell Toadie (she was planning on telling him when she next saw him) until they get the results, which she agrees to as it's "their baby".
Someone has been watching the pair of them chat away cosily - Paul and even he looks somewhat shocked when they (innocently) hug each other out of concern for their daughter.
Harold's café
Toadie recruits Willow into being a Bombers fan but thankfully doesn't make her sing the team song! He heads to the counter when Piper comes in to chat with Willow - she mentions the call from Susan wanting to know about a blackmail attempt. Piper takes Willow's silence as her being involved and adds that she'd never have given her consent to do something like that. Willow suddenly decides she needs to leave the store!
"I just saw your missus together with the cop, yeah they're getting very cosy together," Paul greets Toadie with when he runs into him.
PAUL: I'd watch him if I were you!
Rebecchi Law
Dee comes looking for Willow but Toadie reports she obviously went home after leaving the store. She twigs there's something on his mind and he opens up to her about Mark/Sonya spending a lot of time together and remembering what she said when they last spoke about boundaries are getting blurred.
TOADIE: It's just got me wondering. I mean, they spend so much time together.
DEE: Well they do have a lot in common now.
TOADIE: Yeah but...the way they're getting so close.
Dee reminds him that it's easy for folk to get the wrong idea when something is completely innocent, like their meeting that morning.
Robinsons motel, Dee's room
Dee defends her daughter to Susan/Elly, telling them that she doesn't have the skills to do what they are suggesting.
ELLY: If she had nothing to hide, why would she blackmail me?
Dee suggests it's defending Piper and Susan interjects to say Piper has no knowledge of the blackmail and believes her too. While getting Dee's stance that Willow has been through a lot recently and could simply be acting out, Susan reminds Dee that "counterfeiting legal documents is a crime," and that means consequences. Dee goes on the attack asking if she's got any proof Willow actually made the ID's and as for the blackmailing, nobody has actually been hurt. Both Elly and Susan are shocked by her stance as Dee then begs them to keep it off the record. Although they go back a long way, if Willow's found to have been involved then Susan will be informing the Principal of South East Grammar.
Robinsons motel, Victoria's room
Steph tells Victoria that the mechanic swore the bike had never been stolen and she thinks that he is messing with her head, but Steph isn't sure why he'd lie as he knows nothing about her/Ellen. "It must be an understanding?" Victoria suggests but Steph isn't buying it. Steph then admits that things are starting to get to her, going back to when the surrogacy started, and some of her old symptoms are returning and she's struggling to get on top of it.
STEPH: But there's just all this stuff, I can't explain it. It's just... Ellen's interference is making it impossible.
Victoria tries to reassure her that Ellen will move on from the hurting stage, they just need to ride things out.
STEPH: That is the thing, I just don't know... I don't know how much more I can cope with and I don't want it to affect you.
VICTORIA: No, I'm here to help you, I'm here to support you.
STEPH: I need to focus on my health and you need to focus on your daughter. I...I think we need some time apart.
Robinsons motel, Dee's room
Dee isn't amused at what her daughter has done, including letting folk now her real name/age, and isn't slow in letting her know!
DEE: Did you realise that if this all falls apart, and Toadie doesn't give us the money, then that's it okay, everything I've worked for is gone.
WILLOW: He's a good person, maybe if we explain everything that you're really not Dee, that I'm not his daughter then...
DEE: Willow are you out of your mind? Do you really think he's going to cough up all that money for a couple of complete strangers?
Dee wants to know if there is any truth about Elly/Angus and she replies no, Jimmy just said there were rumours. Cue a lightbulb moment for Dee, she is getting an idea on how things can be turned around - Willow is to say that she found the photo online and when she couldn't delete it, she showed it to Elly out of concern and Susan, worried about the photo going viral, has tried to discredit Willow by blaming her for the fake IDs. Willow tries to object to bringing Susan into it, trying to tell her mum that she has had enough, she isn't doing this anymore, but Dee isn't really listening, so focused she is on the end goal, of getting the money.
With Willow seeking refuge in the bathroom, Dee has another lightbulb moment and calls the West Warratah Star to enquire if their morning edition has gone to print yet. She's obviously told it hasn't as she then asks to speak to an editor and while she's waiting to be put through, she looks at the photoshopped photo of Angus/Elly that is on Willow's phone.
