Susan is talking to Lauren and Lou about the Nursery (the venue for the wedding). Meanwhile Paige apologises to Brad about Blaze, but says they'll find another venue.
PAIGE: It's better that it's secular. You've got to agree with that.
Susan tells them to imagine the venue... and Brad says he doesn't have a counselling background.
BRAD: That was what Jack brought to the table.
Paige says they'll find someone else. Lauren scowls at them, and Susan struggles womanfully on. Lauren says she's going to find Toadie, and on her way past, tells Brad and Paige to sort it out. Brad apologises to Susan and he and Paige go off to "workshop" some ideas.
SUSAN: Rehearsals don't always go to plan.
LOU: Neither do marriages.
SUSAN: That's true enough.
Lou asks her how she was able to move on after some of the things Karl did.
SUSAN: I let go of the hurt. I think that's the only way you can truly forgive.
She wonders why he's asking, and he says he's been thinking about someone he was very close to. He's been blaming her for what went wrong, but maybe he was part of it too. He says they had good times, and they were a close family unit.
SUSAN: Nothing like a wedding to bring people together.

Leo and Amy are comparing bruises and flirting. They are just about to kiss, when Elly rushes up, saying that Aaron has been trying to contact him about his great-grandmother, who has lost consciousness. He rushes off.
Lauren tells Susan it's not Kathy, but another woman from Lou's past. She asks Susan if she's got any ideas.
SUSAN: It's a pretty long list.
Toadie arrives, and Brad tells him that Lauren doesn't know that Jacka and Julie are being sentenced today. Then they all go to start the rehearsal. Toadie hasn't got the rings... but he definitely will on the day. Lauren says they need to rehearse their dance. Brad gets a text and says he has to leave.
Brad is meeting Maxine, who wants a better place to live. Brad says her current place is clean and comfortable. She says she's got the neighbours from hell, and besides she wants a place with a view.
MAXINE: You don't think you owe me because of what your son did?
They both get texts: Jacka has got 18 years. Maxine says that she'll be dead before he gets out. (I thought he hated her.)
BRAD: Maxine, your son was responsible for the deaths of two people.
MAXINE: And YOUR son was responsible for the predicament I'm in now.
She says if he doesn't get her a new house, she'll go to the police about Ned.
Elly tells Amy that she and Leo are just friends - she's not looking for anyone, because she's still getting over her toxic ex.
ELLY: You know the type, right? Total player. Makes you genuinely believe they want something serious, but it's all about the chase. Kind of like Leo.
Amy doesn't agree - she thinks that under the charm, there's someone worth getting to know.
Brad asks Terese if she's hear about Jacka. She has, and adds that Julie only got 10 years for what she did. He tells her about Maxine demanding a better place, and he doesn't know what to do.
TERESE: This has gone too far. You've given her an inch and she's taken a mile.
BRAD: Yeah, I know, but I'm worried about Ned.
Leo is sitting in Kazuko's room, holding one of her statues. Elly comes to see how he's doing. He says he's worried about David. She tells him that Amy is falling in love with him and she doesn't deserve it.
LEO: She's not going to find out.
ELLY: OK. So you win the bet then you dump her?
She says she wouldn't want anyone else to be dumped by a player, and she says they should call off the bet.
ELLY: I never actually thought she'd be interested in you.
David arrives, saying the plural tap hasn't worked and they will have to try another (risky) procedure. Elly leaves, and Leo tells her to stay out of his business. David tells Leo now's not the time for whatever's going on with him and Elly. Leo says it's Amy: he really likes her.
Lauren and Paige ask Brad why he didn't tell them about the sentencing, as they could have supported him. He says he wanted justice to run its course. Lauren asks where he's been, and he asks Paige to give them a minute. He tells Lauren that he's dealing with something serious to do with Ned, assuring her that he will fix it.
Meanwhile, Paige tells Lou she's sorry she stuffed up Blaze when her dad was dealing with the sentencing. Lou says it should teach us to be appreciative. She asks him about the mystery woman, saying she thought he was happy being single.
LOU: What can I say? Some things change.
David and Jack walk in, looking solemn. David said he had sent for Leo, but it was too late. He explains that her kidneys shut down. Kazuko asked for the last rites, and it was very peaceful. Jack expresses his condolences and the two brothers hug.
Later, David is holding the statue, and Aaron arrives to say that Leo has starting making arrangements. Aaron asks if he can help in any way. He carries on speaking, but his voice fades and David remembers Kazuko's words: "Turn away from homosexual life".
DAVID: Don't ever speak to me again.
Brad tells Maxine that he's not going to help any more.
MAXINE: But you have to.
BRAD: I never had to. I just felt obliged because of Ned.
MAXINE: And so you should.
BRAD: And what about Jacka? You know, I suffered because of what he did. You suffered because of Ned. But if we're really keeping points, my losses far outweigh yours.
She tells him the difference is that he's not destitute - she's heard he's got a wedding coming up. He says he'll keep paying for her current place, but that's it.
MAXINE: Then I'll go to the police.
BRAD: You do that, and you'll risk the arrangement we already have in place.
MAXINE: I need more.
BRAD: I'm sorry Maxine. (He turns to leave.)
MAXINE: Don't you walk out on me!
He tells her he's going to meet Terese at the cemetery.
BRAD: We are going to visit my dead son.
Jack is talking to David and Leo about some of the arrangements. David insists that Kazuko wanted them to keep the statue. Leo goes off to see Amy. David tells Jack that the thoughts he had the other day... he was confused, and it was a mistake. Jack offers to find another adviser, but David tells him to forget it ever happened.
Outside, Jack meets Paige, who is bringing flowers for David. He says David must have known, but it's still hard. She comments that it's hard not being able to help someone you love. Jack says he heard about the sentencing, saying it must have been hard for Brad.
PAIGE: Especially now that he's lost Blaze.
JACK: If there had been another solution, I would have taken it, Paige.
PAIGE: I think we both know there were other options available.
JACK: I can't ignore centuries of belief.
PAIGE: Even if those beliefs are wrong? See, I look into your eyes and think that everything is registering, and then you do nothing. It's like you're imprisoned by this doctrine of yours.
JACK: I can't change the church. Yet you keep asking me to.
PAIGE: No, I'm asking you to follow what's right in your heart.
She says she's not talking about "us", but he says it seems quite personal to him. She admits maybe it is.
PAIGE: Jack, we made love, and then you went straight back to the church. And I am finding it really hard to forgive you for that.
JACK: Yeah, I don't blame you for that.
PAIGE: I blame me for having unrealistic expectations from the start. I'm really happy that you're getting on with your life, because I'm finally getting on with mine.
Well, let's hope so.
Lauren says that Brad and Terese have been to the cemetery, and Paige hugs her. She says that she's really glad that Lauren and Lou are in her life. Lauren asks Lou about his mystery woman once again, but he won't say in case she doesn't show up. Paul comes in, and gets a call from Maxine, who offers to tell him Brad and Terese's secret.
Elly comments that David was really close to his great-grandmother, whereas she and Leo didn't get along. Amy says that despite appearances she thinks there was a lot of love. Elly again warns her off Leo, and Amy asks if she's sure she's not interested in him.
ELLY: The reason Leo's chasing you is he made a bet with me - that he would sleep with you by Christmas. He's playing you, for five bucks.
- Amy asks Paul how she always gets it so wrong when it comes to men
- Brooke comes into Brad's class to pick up Xanthe
- Toadie tells Lou he's looking sharp - it's because he's meeting a lady.
- Steph takes a picture of one of Sonya's files
- Paul asks Terese what she's playing at
