The Waterhole
Amy marches in with the bunch of flowers, and slams them on the table in front of Leo. She has a go at him for sending the flowers anonymously, saying that she thought they were from David and has just made a fool of herself. Leo apologises, but Amy's not interested.
AMY: I just want you to leave me alone!
She stomps off, as the titles roll.
Tanakas' Flat
David is searching online for men named Bradley in the area, in the hope of finding his father. He's already ruled out Brad Willis, on the grounds that he wasn't in the area at the same time as their mum. Leo tells David that Amy is 'pretty aggro' with him because of the flowers, and says he wouldn't have sent them if he thought there was something between David and Amy.
DAVID: There's not.
LEO: Are you sure? Cos she obviously thought there was.
DAVID: She's not my type.
LEO: Okay.
DAVID: I didn't think she was your type either.
LEO: You know I don't have a type. I'm all about equal opportunity.
David is becoming visibly annoyed with the conversation.
DAVID: She's too nice for you.
LEO: Probably. So there's definitely not anything happening between you two?
DAVID: Not everyone's lives revolve around chasing girls, Leo. I've got other stuff going on.
LEO: Cool. You're not on the market. Got it.
Erinsborough Hospital
A traumatised-looking Lauren is sketching in her hospital bed. Brad tells her she may be able to go home tomorrow, according to a nurse. Lauren hopes she'll therefore be able to make Regan's memorial. Brad tells her not to overdo it, so she can still 'hobble down the aisle' at their wedding. Lauren forces a smile, but she's clearly very upset and not in a mood to talk.
She becomes agitated because she can't find the ink she was using for her drawing. Brad promises to bring it in for her in the morning. Lauren notices that Brad seems to be having pain in his fingers, but he insists it's nothing. He does admit he's feeling wiped out, though, and goes home to rest. As he leaves, Lauren blinks tears from her eyes.

Breakfast time at the Kennedys', and Elly is looking mournfully at a picture of her and Ned on her phone - but tells Angus she's just looking for news of whether the Cannings won Family Feud. Susan says the Cannings aren't allowed to say whether they won until the show airs next week. Karl comes in, getting ready for work; he isn't looking forward to being breathalysed prior to his shift.
Angus offers to stay at home and keep Elly company while she convalesces, but Susan is having none of it, and drags an unwilling Angus off to school with her. Elly says she'll be fine on her own - but as soon as everyone's gone, she goes back to staring at the picture of Ned.
Erinsborough Hospital
David and Leo are visiting their great grandmother, Kazuko. David has brought her a signed photo of Grant Denyer, and she's asking lots of questions about him as she's a big fan. Kazuko clearly seems to think more of David than Leo, and is encouraging David to get a job in Erinsborough - and a girlfriend!
The Tanakas wheel Kazuko out into the reception, where they run into Amy, who's here to pick up Steph from hospital. It's really awkward, but Kazuko drags out the conversation as she wants to hear about Amy's experiences with Grant Denyer on Family Feud. Amy makes an excuse to leave, and drags Steph away, agreeing to tell Kazuko about it another time.
Ramsay Street
Amy and Steph pull up in the ute. Amy's telling Steph all about her awkward kiss with David, and how he backed off afterwards.
AMY: Maybe I should just accept that I'm unappealing to the opposite sex, and buy fifty cats.
But Steph points out that Leo seems to like Amy, and that there seems to be chemistry between them. Amy's not convinced, describing Leo as overconfident and 'too handsome for his own good', whereas David is 'sensitive, smart and thoughtful'.
Steph suggests Amy should give it another shot with David; he may be holding back because he thinks Leo's into her. But Amy tells Steph about Aaron feeling that he and David had a Moment™.
AMY: I don't want to be the girl who automatically assumes cos a guy's not into me that he's gay. But Aaron should have a clue, right?
Steph says Amy should find out for sure. Amy says she could, but it would entail doing something she really doesn't want to do...

Toadie comes round to drop off some crutches he had left over from his former paralysis, in preparation for Lauren's homecoming - and finds Brad in the garden, apparently in pain.
Brad says he's just worried about Jacka; he can't shake the feeling it was his fault that Jacka decided to exact revenge, because he hit him. Toadie assures Brad it's not his fault, but Brad is feeling bad because of how badly the balloon crash is affecting Lauren.
Toadie suggests Lauren seek counselling at the hospital. But Brad says she's drawing a lot, and that's her therapy. He's looking for the ink Lauren asked for, and Toadie helps - finding Ned's tattoo gear. He retrieves the black ink from within it that Jacka tampered with, saying that would do for Lauren's drawings.
Brad admits he's worried Lauren is having second thoughts about the wedding after what's happened. Toadie suggests Brad get the house ready for Lauren's discharge, while Toadie and Sonya visit her in hospital. Brad thanks Toadie, before gasping in pain from what appears to be stomach cramps...

Elly is lying on the sofa, looking at photos of Ned. Angus comes in, and she pretends to have been reading a book. Angus claims he has a free period, so has come to check up on Elly. He sees a design for the tattoo Ned was going to give her on her bookmark, depicting a rising sun.
ANGUS: It suits you. Happiness, and light, and all that.
ELLY: Yeah, it's more about new beginnings. Leaving my old life behind and starting a new one. Like the sun rising on a new day.
Angus says he understands why Elly's feeling down; she's been through something terrible and expected Ned to be there for her, and he's run away. She clams up, claiming she'd rather not talk about it.
ANGUS: That's how I felt when my mum left me here. Look, I know it probably seems easy to deal with this stuff on your own. But there are people here who actually care about you, and who actually want to help. And maybe you should let them.
ELLY: What self-help book did you swipe that from?
ANGUS: I heard it at one of Mum's cancer clinics.
He goes to heat up some soup for them, and Elly thanks him - but says he has to go back to school afterwards.
Tanakas' Flat
Amy comes round to see Leo. She apologises for attacking him with the flowers yesterday, saying she was just upset because of the kiss with David. She admits she's confused about David's intentions; he turned up at the TV studio to support her, and asked her out for a drink, but then things got uncomfortable. Leo explains David doesn't have much experience with dating.
AMY: Well, if it's just cos he's shy, I'm fine with that. But what if it's something else?
LEO: Like what?
AMY: I dunno. Like, Aaron said that he picked up on a thing between him and David.
LEO: Don't read too much into that. He also thought I was into him.
AMY: Yeah. I know. But I just want to figure out what the situation is. Has David had any girlfriends?
LEO: He's never really had time for relationships. I mean, he was a pretty serious kid.
AMY: And now?
LEO: He's totally focused on his career. And on top of that, he's consumed with finding our dad. You know, David's got a lot on his plate. The last thing he needs is to be pushed.
AMY: You really care about him?
LEO: Yeah, he's always had my back. Kept me out of trouble. I probably wouldn't have finished high school if it wasn't for him.
Sensing an opportunity, Leo leans in, suggesting Amy stick around for a 'killer breakfast'!
AMY: Wow! For a split second there, I thought I was actually talking to a decent human being.
LEO: What? We had a spark just then! You know there was!
But Amy says she has to go, and leaves. Leo smiles as the door closes.
Erinsborough Hospital
David is still with Kazuko in her hospital room, and asks for her help.
KAZUKO: To find you a girlfriend?
DAVID: No. I want to track down my dad. I found out his first name's Bradley...
KAZUKO: ... My memory isn't what it was.
DAVID: Your mind's a steel trap when it suits you. Please. I need to know where I come from. Who I am.
KAZUKO: You have brains as well as beauty. That's all you need to know.
DAVID: Hiibaachan...
KAZUKO: I'm tired. I need to rest now.
David reluctantly leaves. Kazuko looks troubled as he goes.
Meanwhile, Toadie, Sonya and Nell have come to visit Lauren as promised. Toadie has brought the poisoned ink from Ned's tattoo kit - and little Nell has picked it up! Toadie takes it off her and gives it to Lauren, who thinks it will work for her sketch. Lauren asks Toadie if he thinks Jacka will be allowed to go to Regan's memorial; Toadie thinks it's unlikely.
Toadie explains that Brad is worried it's his fault that Jacka sabotaged the balloon, and is concerned Lauren may blame him too, and that's why she's not speaking to him about the wedding. Lauren says that's not the case at all; she's just not in the mood for celebration right now.

Angus is trying to cheer Elly up by playing her a song on his guitar.
ANGUS (singing): Elly loves food in her belly; she makes all the girls jelly, cos she's so rad! Elly, has never been to Delhi, but she could probably be on telly, because she's so rad!
Angus hears Susan outside and panics; he admits he was lying about the free period, and asks Elly not to tell Susan he's here, before hiding in his room.
When Susan comes in, she asks Elly if she's seen Angus, as he's not been in lessons. Elly reluctantly covers for Angus. Susan's worried that Angus isn't focusing on school, so Elly promises to have a word to him. Susan says Angus relates to Elly; it might be just what he needs.
Erinsborough Hospital
Amy bumps into David in the reception. She asks to talk to him about what happened last night, and says she misread the situation. David doesn't correct her, and they each admit they're not great at the dating scene.
AMY: But I guess we both know enough to realise there wasn't any chemistry when we kissed?
DAVID: ... No.
Amy looks disappointed, but suggests they should be friends, and David agrees.
DAVID: Good! Now that we're friends, I've got something to talk to you about. My brother's interested in you.
AMY: Oh, I don't think so!
DAVID: He's a good guy.
AMY: Really?!
DAVID: He's always had my back. Stopped me getting beaten up during high school. He paid my way through medical school.
AMY: I kind of get the impression that he's a bit of a player.
DAVID: Girls like him. They always have. He doesn't fall for them very often.
AMY: Or he's only into the chase.
DAVID: Maybe. I don't know.
They laugh awkwardly.

Angus runs into Susan, and tries to pretend he's just come home for lunch - but she's furious, and says she knows he's been skipping lessons. Angus claims he's finding it hard to fit back in at school. Susan understands it's an adjustment, but says he has to keep trying - and grounds him for the rest of the week!
Angus pretends to be disappointed at the prospect of being stuck at home with Elly all week, but once Susan's gone and Elly comes in, all dressed up, he tells her the good news!
ELLY: You won't be here all the time, you'll be at school. Got it?
ANGUS: ... Where are you going?
ELLY: To Leo's.
ANGUS: Is it a date?
ELLY: Not that it's any of your business. But no.
ANGUS: Well, I was just asking because you look amazing.
ELLY: That's enough out of you.
She walks out, leaving Angus looking forlorn.
Tanakas' Flat
Elly has arrived, and Leo is preparing dinner for them. She's impressed at his cooking skills; he laments that his great grandma isn't so appreciative! Conversation moves onto Amy; Leo explains how he sent Amy flowers but she thought they were from David, but how he almost got her to stay for breakfast. Leo's convinced Amy likes him, but Elly says she was probably just being friendly.
ELLY: I think this means I win the bet. I knew Amy would see straight through you.
LEO: Don't give up on me that easily! I'm starting to break her down slowly, and definitely getting closer.
ELLY: Hmm. So's Christmas.
LEO: Fine. Christmas it is. That's my deadline!
Elly agrees to this.

Steph comes in and finds Amy with another bunch of flowers.
STEPH (reading the note): 'For the record, these are definitely from Leo Tanaka!' That's a bit cute!
AMY: Yeah, I dunno.
STEPH: Oh, come on. You say you're feeling undesirable, and yet you've got this really cute guy who keeps buying you flowers.
AMY: I'm not interested.
But she's smiling a little as she says it.
Erinsborough Hospital
Karl is discharging Lauren, who is trying out the crutches Toadie's donated to her. Brad's helping her pack up, and while Karl goes to fetch her medication, Brad suggests they clear the air.
LAUREN: I know I've been a bit distant lately. I'm just still trying to get my head around everything that's happened.
BRAD: Well, it's a lot to process. And I know I've been pressuring you about the wedding. I'm sorry - I'm just excited about it. But I just want you to know, I'm more than willing to postpone it if you want.
LAUREN: Yeah, thanks. I'm really not sure what will make me feel better at this point in time.
Karl comes back in, but as he gives Lauren her medication, Brad suddenly feels dizzy, and collapses onto the floor. Karl rushes to help him, but Brad seems to be out cold. Lauren pushes the emergency button, as Karl tries to revive him...
