Steph tells Sonya that Charlie is excited about his party later. They look over and see that Tyler is encouraging Paige to do push-ups.
Steph gets a call from the venue for Charlie's party. Meanwhile the Snake Whisperer™ watches from behind a tree.

Steph tells the Brennan boys that Charlie's party has been cancelled. Mark offers to hold it there. Steph doesn't think Charlie will be impressed, until Mark suggests a Nerf BBQ. She can't believe Mark would do that when he's just redecorated.
MARK: It'll be great. Who knows, we could write something off as collateral damage. Something green, big and ugly.
TYLER: You touch my chair, I'll sue you.
Outside Harold's
Paige bumps into Amy, who says she's going to hear Jack preach. Paige is surprised, and when Amy's gone, she looks thoughtful.
Church (outside)
Amy meets Jack at the door. She's the first to arrive. Jack tells her he's pleased to see a familiar face as it will help with his nerves. She assures him she's only heard good reviews.

Steph is panicking about the party, as she's worried Charlie won't like it - and it's his first birthday with her for ages. Toadie comments that he thought he saw someone outside. Sonya dismisses that, tries to calm Steph down, and suggests she just ask Charlie what he thinks.
STEPH: How did you get so smart?
SONYA: Well, it comes with the mayoral robes.
TOADIE: Plus she sleeps next to me at night and my IQ transfers to her by osmosis.
Sonya explains osmosis needs water, which Toadie says proves his point! Charlie comes in, and confirms that a Nerf party would be cool, to Steph's relief.
Church (outside)
Paige turns up to hear Jack, telling Amy she wants to understand Jack better. Amy advises her that it might be too soon for Jack.

The boys are organising the party. In Tyler and Aaron's case seems to consist of "accidentally" blasting water at each other and Mark. He is not amused, and says he wants the kids to play in the garden. Aaron wishes him luck.
MARK: Maybe we should cordon this area off and we'll take it in turns to monitor the entrance.
TYLER: Bro, it's not a crime scene, it's a kids' party.
Church
Jack is giving a sermon about love, and Paige is listening behind the door.
JACK: Well, believe it or not, priests love too. We love our families, we love our communities and recently I experienced a different kind of love. I fell in love.
He says he'll never forget what it meant to him.

Toadie is going to office to work on Belinda's appeal, while Sonya and Steph are sorting out more stuff for Charlie's party. Then Sonya gets a call and she has to leave too.
Ramsay Street
ScaryCam™ watches Toadie leave. Then we see it's the Snake Whisperer™
Church - outside
Amy tells Jack he was like a "rock star", and that he said some things she needed to hear. They hug. He asks her if she wants to come to Confession, but she declines, saying she's taking Jimmy to the party. She comments that she's glad Paige didn't put him off. He's perturbed at the thought of Paige hearing what he said.

Steph arrives with Nell, and the party is in full swing - inside. Mark arrives from somewhere and tells everybody to go outside.
Church - confessional
Jack is taking confessions. Paige comes in, and tells Jack his sermon was great.
PAIGE: I'm in love... with a priest. But I've been spending a lot of time with someone else, trying to prove to myself that I'm over him. And if I'm gonna be honest, trying to make him jealous. I've just been hurting so much, I think I just wanted him to hurt too. I know that was childish of me, and it hasn't worked anyway. But I'm still not over him, and I think I'm always going to be in love with him even though we can't be together. I...just... I don't wanna pretend any more, about how I feel, or why. But I don't know what to do differently either. So could you please tell me?
Jack says nothing, and Paige says she shouldn't have come. He tells her to wait. He puts his hand on the dividing screen, and she puts hers opposite briefly. (It's just like Rose and the Doctor, except not really.)

Toadie arrives home and hears the back door close. He calls Sonya and Steph, but there's no answer. He has a look around and finds a picture of Belinda on the floor.
Harold's
Tyler comes in for some bread. Paige tells him how she went to hear Jack preach, and how she knows now that Jack loves her, but he loves God more.
No 24
Toadie tells Steph about the photo of Belinda, and that he's worried someone's been in the house. Tyler arrives with the bread and the cake. Unfortunately it's iced with "Happy birthday Love Mum and Dad".
As if by magic, it reappears, with Mark replacing Dad. It has 12 candles. I guess his 11th was in March, eh? Anyway, Charlie thanks everyone for the presents, and especially his mum and Mark for the party. Mark tells Steph he's had a brilliant day.
Church - confessional
Somebody goes into the confessional next to Jack, but he doesn't say anything. Jack assures him it's confidential. We see it's the Snake Whisperer, who confesses to putting the snakes on Ramsay Street. Jack asks why.
ARI: She deserves to punished. She shouldn't love someone she can't have. She should be with me.
Jack asks who he means, but he leaves. Jack runs out after him, but he's slithered off.
