Sheila and Amy try to cheer Xanthe up, but she's fine. She's looking for her phone. Amy checks her bag and finds a box of condoms (aka "protection").

Paige comes to see why Mark is not at work. As Tom Jones would say, It's Not Unusual... Anyway, he says he's going to redecorate.
MARK: I'm going to make it a little bit more "Brennany".
Paige wants to asks a question about a hypothetical guy.
PAIGE: If you threw yourself at him and he said, "No thanks"...
MARK: I dunno. Maybe he's gay, or asexual.
Or maybe he doesn't like your stroppy personality. So, Mark suggests it could be PTSD, and it may not be about her. This does not compute, so Paige asks him to find out whether he likes her. Reluctantly, he agrees.

Angus asks Susan and Ben what they are doing later. Susan is meeting Sheila and Ben is studying. Angus explains that he's taking Xanthe out for a date, because she was upset that no-one came to her party.
BEN: When you say no-one you mean like hardly anyone.
ANGUS: Like literally no-one except me.
Ben looks upset. Angus is not sure where to go, and asks Susan when Karl will be back so he can ask for suggestions. She says he will be late, then she leaves. Ben has worked out the situation.
BEN: You'd better not be planning to jump Xanthe.
ANGUS: Actually it was her idea, and you'd better make yourself scarce because it's a three's a crowd situation.

Amy tells Xanthe that she found her phone in her bag.
AMY: I saw them.
XANTHE: Awkward!
AMY: I hope you're not planning to put them to use with Angus.
XANTHE: Why can't I? I'm 16 now.
AMY: Just.
Amy tells her to wait for someone she loves, and not to rush into things. Xanthe says Angus is cool and he likes her. She wants her 16th birthday to be memorable. Amy offers to make sure she's prepared and knows "how to use the tools".
Robinson's storeroom
Paul tells Aaron that he's a lost cause, but Aaron won't give up. He says that Paul should volunteer with the clean up, as volunteering wins people over.
AARON: And here's the best bit: you get to wear a high vis vest.
PAUL: I just stopped wearing one.
AARON: So you'll know that it makes everyone 20% hotter.
PAUL: Unlike you, I have no desire to join the Village People.
He reluctant agrees to give it a go.

Xanthe is ready for her date, when there's a knock at the door. It's Ben. He apologises for missing the party and tells her he hopes she doesn't "go there". She asks if he's jealous, and he says he doesn't want to her to do something she'll regret.
Lassiter's Park
Mark has turned up for the clean-up. He goes to chat to John, saying Paige really likes him and he shouldn't hold back if he likes her. John says he doesn't know who he is and he doesn't want to hurt her. Mark advises him to be honest.
Paul turns up with Aaron, and Nate frowns. Paul asks if everyone has cleared his being there. Aaron says it's fine.

Angus tells Susan that Xanthe is pretty cool, and he didn't have any girlfriends at his previous schools because he was always moving.
Lassiter's Park
John apologises to Paige for giving the impression that he wasn't attracted to her (which isn't true). He explained that he'd just come from a hypnotherapy session which was full-on. She offers to come to the next one.
Aaron wants to take a photo of Paul working. Aaron tells him to stop and look up for one photo. Nate stomps over and complains, saying he's exploiting the situation.
NATE: Just go.
PAUL: You don't have to tell me more than once.
AARON: You're being a tool.
Hospital
John and Paige have arrived for his hypnotherapy.
Lassiter's Complex
Aaron tells Paul he still has strategies, but Paul fires him, telling him to save his relationship.
Hospital
John is having his hypnotherapy and getting very distressed.

Sheila and Susan are talking about the date... and Sheila hopes that Angus is not a ratbag. Susan reminds Sheila that Kyle was a "work in progress" (aka ratbag) at that age, and he turned out fine.
Lassiter's Complex
Aaron challenges Nate about his behaviour earlier, and Nate says it was for the best.
NATE: Helping criminals tart up their image is hardly a worthy job.
Aaron says that all clients are equal, so Nate asks if that includes serial killers. Aaron isn't impressed, and reminds Nate that he isn't doing anything particularly worthy. Nate says it's better than talking to superficial strangers on social media.
AARON: Yeah, well, it's good to know you think I'm shallow. Thanks.
Hospital
John says that Karl told him he saw fire, and a girl with long brown hair in danger. He woke up panicked. Karl gives him a referral to a psychiatrist.

Sheila has found the empty packet of "protection". She asks Amy if they are hers, and lays into her when Amy says she gave Xanthe a lesson in responsibility. Amy explains it was Xanthe's choice. Sheila storms out.
No 28
Xanthe and Angus are kissing in the hallway outside the bedrooms. Xanthe says she feels awkward because they might be discovered, and asks Angus if they can go to his room.
Lassiter's Park
John tells Paige he thinks the girl he remembered is probably her. As they chat, someone is taking a picture of them on a phone

Sheila bursts asking Susan where Xanthe and Angus are, saying they are probably in his bedroom. She goes in and drags Xanthe out. Angus claims they were just hanging out.
SHEILA: A date in a boy's bedroom only comes to one natural conclusion and I am not going to have that happen on my watch. (to Susan) What kind of house of abandon are you even running here?
Sheila drags Xanthe off, and Susan tells Angus to explain. He says there's no point.
No 22 garden
Aaron tells Mark that Nate is having a go at him for working for Paul. Mark says that Nate loves him, and if they are willing to work through their issues, they'll be fine.
Lassiter's Car Park
Nate is getting in his ute. He is on the phone to Susan, talking about Angus and Aaron. Paul walks behind the ute and stops to pick up a photo he has dropped. Nate checks the mirror, but doesn't see Paul. He reverses, and there's a thump and a groan.
