No. 30
Philippa enters and gives Charlie a hug. Lyn says they're surprised to see her.
PHILIPPA: I was checking in on Charlie's phone location and discovered he was in Erinsborough. Lucky I was in Sydney for work and managed to get the next plane down. Did you bring him here?
LYN: Not exactly...
PHILIPPA: (to Steph) Does that mean you picked him up?
CHARLIE: Erm, I came here myself Mum, on the train.
PHILIPPA: And you let him?
CHARLIE: She didn't know I snuck away.
PHILIPPA: You what?!
CHARLIE: I wanted to see Steph again.
PHILIPPA: What do you mean, "again"?
Cue opening titles!
No. 30
Lyn asks Charlie to help her bring in the washing. Steph confesses to Philippa that Charlie has visited before, but only once, and as a surprise organized by Lyn.
PHILIPPA: How did Charlie react when he saw you?
STEPH: He was upset at first.
PHILIPPA: Because he's been traumatized by your last interaction, this is why we have the parenting order in place!
STEPH: I know, but it's okay now. We've been getting to know each other again.
PHILIPPA: Who's idea was it to keep this a secret?
STEPH: Look, I didn't want to deceive you and Max, but I didn't want to unnecessarily worry you either. If Charlie didn't want to see me, he wouldn't have snuck back to see me on his own! This has been really good for him.
Steph promises that she won't get sick again, but Philippa reminds her that she can't make such promises, and says she needs to speak with Max.
PHILIPPA: I know you want a relationship, I completely understand. But this is about what's best for Charlie. Don't forget that.

Lou enters wearing sunglasses, and tells Doug that he's arranged for them to do some hot-laps at the raceway to begin ticking off items from his bucket list. Doug seems excited, but says it will be wasted on him as he won't remember the experience. Lou manages to talk him around and tells him to just embrace the moment. Lauren has overheard the conversation and looks pleased.

Lyn recommends that Philippa and Charlie get lunch at Harold's before they leave. Charlie gives Steph a hug goodbye, and as they leave she breaks down in tears.
Ramsay Street
Brad approaches Piper and asks if she's seen his iPad, but she reminds him that she's on a technology ban. She reminds Brad that he had it at Harold's, and confuses him by saying he should use the 'Find my iPad' app.
PIPER: Okay, seriously, people your age should have a license to use technology, with a test and everything! In a truly just world, you'd be banned!
Piper reassures him that as long as he has a strong password, his documents should be safe. He admits that he doesn't have one, and urgently needs to find it as he's received the exam results already and thinks someone had accessed the iPad to steal the papers. He says he could lose his job if he's found responsible, and Piper looks very guilty.
Harold's
Philippa quizzes Charlie about what he got up to with Steph, and he reassures her that they had fun, and that Steph was smiling the whole time. Piper storms in and demands that Xanthe give Brad his iPad back. Xanthe explains that she needed the money so she can go home, and as long as Piper doesn't say anything, no one will find out. Xanthe begs her not to say anything, but Piper looks uncomfortable.
After the advert break, Piper explains to Josh the entire situation. He advises Piper that she has to choose if her loyalties lie with Xanthe or Brad. Lou and Doug return from their car racing, having had a great time. Lou introduces Doug to his next bucket-list activity: playing a public gig with Karl to the customers at Harold's. Karl introduces the pair, but Doug notes that the sound on his keyboard isn't switched on.
LOU: Hang on mate, you haven't turned him on!
KARL: Can we do this later mate, you're spoiling the vibe. (Karl turns to the audience), Sorry everyone, roadies!
LOU: Hey, this is for Doug, and you can't even hear him.
KARL: You will in the quiet bits!
LOU: He wanted to play a gig, not be some silent side-man to the King of Rock and Roll!
KARL: That was never going to be realistic, you need years to perform for a rock and roll crowd.
LOU: It's a coffee shop!
KARL: This way he gets to soak up the atmosphere, be a part of it, it's a win-win!
During Lou and Karl's bickering, Doug has managed to turn the keyboard volume back up and confidently bangs out a jazz number. Everyone looks impressed, including Karl!
DOUG: At least I haven't forgotten everything.

Xanthe is painting Sheila's nails in the kitchen, but they are interrupted by a knock at the door. Susan and Brad enter, and ask if she knows anything about the missing iPad. Xanthe denies everything, so Susan says they'll unfortunately have to get the police involved. Sheila urges Xanthe to tell the truth before things escalate, and she confesses to taking the iPad and distributing the exam papers.
XANTHE: I was always going to give it back to you.
SUSAN: Stealing school property and circulating an exam, these are not trivial things Xanthe. I have no choice but to suspend you for two weeks.
SHEILA: Oh, do you have to? Isn't that a bit much?
SUSAN: This is a very serious offence Sheila, I think she's getting off lightly!
SHEILA: But she can't miss that much schooling, and rest assured she will find herself at the pointy end of Canning justice at home! Oh she will have chores up to her eye-balls, I promise!
SUSAN: Alright, one week. I'll have a letter to you tonight. I'm very disappointed in you Xanthe.
Harold's
As Charlie listens to music, Lyn continues trying to persuade Philippa that bringing Charlie to Steph was all her own idea. She promises that Steph is a different person since the parenting order was put in place, and lists all of the ways in which she's turned her life around.
LYN: Do you know she's even investing in a business; a hotel would you believe.
PHILIPPA: Really?
LYN: With a very successful local businessman. I am very familiar with him in fact, I married him at one stage. Very briefly, but anyway. Paul knows hotels, and he will make a great success of it, and that will bring her even more stability. And you know I think it shows great strength and maturity on Steph's part, not just going into a business, but to enter into a partnership with someone who tried to ruin her health, and mental health at that. I mean it shows such courage...
PHILIPPA: Someone who did what?!
LYN: ...what?
Lyn realizes she's put her foot in it, but Philippa is very concerned!

Scott Joplin's 'The Entertainer' plays as Doug, Lou and Karl sit around the kitchen table and play poker to win chocolate coins! Doug looks a bit confused, but Karl plays a very confident hand. Lou pulls him aside, and reminds him that Doug has to win.
LOU: You let him win, or I'll tell Doug all about your blue box!
KARL: You wouldn't...
LOU: We both know I would!
Karl very reluctantly withdraws his hand letting Doug win. As Doug celebrates his winnings, Karl looks utterly devastated!

Philippa tells Steph that Lyn's taken Charlie to the park, and presents her with a letter that gives her consent to the adoption. Steph immediately rips up the letter.
STEPH: Never, in a million years, would I give up the rights to my boy!
Philippa says that she has admiration for Steph having turned her life around, but by breaching the parenting order and going into business with Paul, she's cast doubt in Philippa's mind about her sanity. She offers to give Steph a 'good-will gesture' towards the business if she agrees to the adoption, but Steph dismisses it as being bought off.
PHILIPPA: We're on the same page, we both want what's best for Charlie. And the courts... they can be traumatic for kids. Think about it, I'll send a copy of this letter to your lawyer.
Steph is left looking shaken.
Later on, Steph finishes telling Lyn about what happened with Philippa. Lyn warns her that Max could make Steph's life really difficult if she doesn't agree.
STEPH: I am just so sick of being painted as the crazy one. You know Max has had his fair share of mental illness stuff, you think he would be more understanding.
LYN: Yeah, well some people have very short memories.
STEPH: Max had his second chance with Charlie, I deserve mine.
LYN: What are you going to do?
STEPH: I'm going to fight for him with everything I've got, because he is my son and I will die before I give that up. And I might have a while to go before I'm the mother that he deserves, but my God I will get there, and I promise you he will call me Mum again.
Harold's
Brad tells Piper how proud he is of her bringing up her grades with the latest exam, and for telling him the truth about Xanthe. Sheila enters with Xanthe and she apologises to Brad, who forgives her but explains that everyone will have to take the test again. Piper takes Xanthe aside and apologises for dropping her in it. Xanthe points out that Piper is only being half-honest as she hasn't admitted to cheating on the exam, and threatens to tell Brad, as well as demanding payment for the exam paper.

Lou has set up a slide projector in the living room, and he sits down with Doug and Karl in order to take him on a 'trip' to New York. Karl uses a fan and some water to simulate the boat journey to the Statue of Liberty whilst Lou narrates their journey with the slides. They move on to the northern lights, and Doug looks overjoyed.
No. 26
Sheila is giving Xanthe a scolding, and says that if she wants any more pocket money then she'll have to earn her keep through household chores.
SHEILA: Goodness knows why a fifteen-year-old needs so much money!
XANTHE: So I can leave!
SHEILA: I bed your pardon?
XANTHE: Everyone I've ever lived with before has always let me down. My mum, Dad, why should you be any different?
SHEILA: Xanthe, I would never kick you out.
XANTHE: It's fine, I'll be back on the Gold Coast before you know it, and then you'll never have to put up with me again!
Sheila calls after Xanthe as she storms into her bedroom.

DOUG: 'Sacred Heart', Church hall, 1966. Father O'Leary. He'd be sure that no bodies were touching. And me, dancing with the prettiest girl in the room. You're the only one Pam, the only one. I love you Pam.
Doug begins to kiss Lauren's cheek and cuddles her. Lauren looks very uncomfortable.
