Dial A Kyle
Kyle invites Amy for a drink at the Waterhole as she has the afternoon free of Jimmy, but she declines fearing that she'd third-wheel him and Shay. Before Kyle can convince her it'll just be them and the Brennan's, she sees Steph, who tells her that she's been fired.

Penthouse Suite
Paul goes over the plan with Aaron to play Greensleeves whilst Steph is alone at the garage, and keep a report of her behaviour. Aaron demands a justification from Paul, who explains that he's spoken to Steph's psych nurse and she's concerned that Steph is getting too close to Jimmy; he's scared that she will relapse and kidnap him.

Fitzgerald Motors
Amy confronts Tyler, claiming that Steph's dismissal based on her illness is discrimination, but he says that he's just following orders from Lucas. Steph shares Toadie's concerns that someone is setting her up. Tyler apologises again, and says that he's enjoyed working with Steph.

TYLER: If this has got you all stressed out, maybe this isn't the worst thing for you right now.

Penthouse Suite
Aaron gets Paul to clarify that he's making Steph think she's having a relapse.

PAUL: I'm just reminding her of her 'condition', whilst she still has the capacity to realise she's a danger, and can remove herself from the equation. It's really quite simple. I just got hold of her old case files, then I got onto an associate of mine who pushed a few of her buttons.

Paul explains that his associate put the speakers in the garage to make Steph think she was hearing things, and plays the "I miss you mummy" recording that she tricked Steph with over the phone.

PAUL: Quite effective really, isn't it? And then she posed as a ripped-off customer.
AARON: Paul, you do realise that all of this is pretty full-on?
PAUL: It's for my grandson. Look, I have had experience with mental illness first hand, I know what we're dealing with. And if you're thinking of charging off to Mark with this, you can think again, because it's your word against mine, and besides...

Paul waves the USB stick that he found, and Aaron looks defeated.

No. 32
Paige is struggling with the news of her parent's break up, and Lauren explains that it was the best thing for everyone. She tells Paige that there was too much against them, and Brad needs to focus on Piper and Terese.

PAIGE: Have you guys fallen out of love, is that what it is? Are you sure you're not just self-sabotaging here?
LAUREN: What?
PAIGE: Out of guilt. When I think back to when all this started, it was after the fire. After Terese got burnt.
LAUREN: We're not self-sabotaging, we just had a reality check.

Lauren explains that the fleeting moments of happiness weren't worth the pain they were causing everyone.

No. 22 Backyard
Imogen tells Brad and Terese that Toadie thinks Piper will get off with a warning as Ben has taken full responsibility for starting the fire. Whilst she'll have to make a statement, it's doubtful that she'll have to make an appearance in court, and Brad seems relieved. He reminds Terese that it's time to change her dressing and take her antibiotic, and she thanks her 'doctor'. Imogen looks happy to see her parents getting on again. As she leaves, Paige enters from the back gate and grills Brad on his break up with Lauren.

PAIGE: I know you both think it's too hard, but it won't be like this forever. You both care about each other, and I just don't think you should just give up.

Terese and Imogen stand at the patio door, shocked at what they've just overheard.

IMOGEN: Have you and Lauren broken up?
BRAD: Yeah... we have.

(later)

Imogen tells Terese that Brad and Paige are still talking together inside. Terese says that she had no idea they'd split, but she doesn't think that her and Brad will get back together.

TERESE: Look, we don't even know how permanent this is yet.
IMOGEN: "Broken up" sounds pretty permanent to me. And Dad did move back home! You guys have been getting on so well, you must be feeling a little bit hopeful.
TERESE: I don't know how I feel. And if I had to guess, I'd say that they broke up because of me, because of the state I'm in. I think he's back here making this sacrifice because he feels guilty. Maybe he's happy spending time with you, the kids, with the family.
IMOGEN: But you saw how he was with you just before, he obviously still loves you!
TERESE: Listen, sweetheart, I know you're excited at the thought of things going back to the way they were, but let's just wait to hear what your father has to say about it, in his own time.

The Waterhole
Tyler laments to Mark and Kyle the loss of Steph at the garage. Mark is surprised when Kyle defends her, and he explains that he's had a change of heart ever since she found Jimmy. Aaron brings the drinks over and asks Tyler's opinion on Steph's mental state. Everyone is convinced she's being set up and attests to her efforts to settle back in. Paige joins them and tells Mark she's having a really bad day.

No. 30
Amy asks Sonya if she can change Lucas's mind, but she concedes that she agrees with Vanessa's decision. Amy and Toadie point out that everyone has their own issues.

SONYA: I'm not debating that Jarrod, what I'm saying is that if she's sliding into another episode then she needs professional intervention, and the sooner the better!
AMY: What she needs is people to believe in her!
SONYA: Oh Amy, she's delusional! She thinks she had a call from her son Charlie but the father says that's not true, and she's hearing things!
AMY: What if someone is targeting her? We should be trying to find solid proof!

Sonya insists that they should follow Steph's lead and forget the theory that someone is setting her up. Amy and Sonya both state that it's not each other's call to decide Steph's outcome.

Penthouse Suite
Aaron returns with the news that Steph has been fired and is heading back to Bendigo, to Paul's delight. Aaron tries to berate Paul for his plan, but he is quick to point out Aaron's guilt and reminds him of the leverage he has against him.

PAUL: That's the difference between you and me. I own my actions, because I believe what I did was for the greater good. But walking biceps like you, you just do things on the spur of the moment, or for entertainment, instant gratification. I wouldn't expect you to understand.

No. 22 Backyard
Terese winces as Brad changes the dressing on her burn and she quizzes him on his split with Lauren. He explains that it's definitely over, and their justification couldn't make up for hurting people.

TERESE: So you're still in love with her? This is about self-sacrifice.
BRAD: It's only part.
TERESE: It's funny isn't it, how different things can seem with the benefit of time. I'm just saying because I've realised I haven't been blameless in all of this either.
BRAD: Right now I just want to focus on the kids.
TERESE: Then that's what we'll do. Together.

The Waterhole
Sonya approaches the bar with a bouquet of flowers, and Kyle notices, commenting that they're Amy's favourite. He asks if there's anything he can do to help Steph, but Sonya insists that they all stay out of it and respect Steph's wishes. She ends up arguing with Kyle, and vents that there's always drama whenever Steph is in town, before abruptly leaving. At a table, Paige continues to express her upset at Mark, whilst confessing her guilt for matchmaking Lauren and Brad. She worries that if Brad and Terese get back together, they will just repeat their problems again. Mark reassures her that it's all okay - she still has him!

Fitzgerald Motors
Tyler helps Steph collect the last of her belongings, and Amy promises to give her a good reference when she looks for another job if Lucas doesn't. Toadie says he's upset to see Steph leave when she's only just returned. Aaron drops by to Steph's surprise to also say goodbye.

STEPH: Just having you all here to see me off like this. It reminds me of why I wanted to come back to Erinsborough in the first place.

Toadie and Amy reassure Steph that she'll be back again, and it will be a new chapter in her life. Aaron looks guilty as Steph continues to lament her departure.

Harold's
Terese approaches Lauren and they discuss her and Brad's break up. Lauren states that their families should come first, and makes sure that her and Brad are okay together. She invites Terese over to see Matilda whenever she wants.

LAUREN: Terese, I want you to know that I am truly sorry for the grief I've caused you.
TERESE: Well I'm just hoping we can put it behind us. For Matilda's sake, and the kids.

The Waterhole
Over a musical montage, Paige looks at a photo of her parents and cuddles up to Mark.

Harold's
Lauren sits alone in the back room, lost in thought.

Brad sits in the garden room, flicking through photos of Lauren and himself.

In the kitchen Amy and Kyle defend Steph to one another, and argue the injustice of her having to leave. Amy notes that she hasn't seen much of Kyle, and he apologises for spending so much time with Shay as it was only meant to be something casual and she isn't his type. He tells Amy he's sorry that she got caught up in his issues with the end of his marriage.

AMY: So what is your type?
KYLE: Someone real, fun. Someone who'd be keen to start a family with me. What about you?
AMY: Someone who loves me. Someone who loves Jimmy. Someone who makes me laugh.
KYLE: Just to be clear, is that three someone's, or all of them rolled into one?

They are now facing each other and hesitate to kiss. Kyle asks if it's too soon, but Amy smiles and shakes her head, and they kiss tenderly.
