No. 30
Angie continues her rant at Sonya that someone should have to pay for Toadie's accident, but is failing to win Sonya round to the idea.
SONYA: No, no, this sort of talk, it's not going to help. We need to focus on Jarrod's recovery, it's only going to stress him out more if we try to chase compensation from Naomi.
ANGIE: What do you mean 'Naomi'?
Angie tries to press Sonya for details, who goes on to explain Naomi's culpability about moving the bouncy castle, but makes it very clear that she doesn't want to make her pay.
SONYA: No, I don't want to do anything until I've discussed it with Jarrod - and you, do not say anything. He does not need this on his plate right now!
ANGIE: No, what he needs is compensation!
SONYA: NO! Promise me!
ANGIE: Alright, fine. Mum's the word.
No. 28
Ben's hastily tucking into breakfast, and Susan praises him for his new attitude to school and is very glad he's settled back in. Ben's happy too and wishes that he'd confronted the issue of the photos sooner. Karl pounces on Ben before he leaves and invites him to have a jam session before school.
Toadie's Hospital room
Angie's rambling about the fruit that Paul sent, but Sonya and Toadie are too busy fawning over pictures of Nell on the iPad and commenting how quickly she's growing up. Sonya admits that Nell is still too scared to come to the hospital, and Angie presses the point that it's unfair Toadie has to miss all of Nell's milestones.
Lassiter's Complex
Paul is being lambasted over the phone by Amy for showing the 'marriage regret' secret to Terese. He returns to lunch (or breakfast with wine) with Naomi and Daniel, and faces further criticism from Naomi for acting selfishly. Daniel heads to work, and sensing that she's worried, Paul reassures Naomi that she has nothing to worry about in regards to the accident.
NOAMI: How can you be so... cold?
PAUL: You know in six months' time, when Naomi Canning Enterprises is flourishing, you're actually going to thank me for being so level headed about this.
Erinsborough Child Care Centre
At the door, Sonya is fussing over Nell and Amber reassures her that she'll be fine. She starts giving Nell a pep talk who ignores her and wanders off into the building, and Sonya melts into tears as she says goodbye.
Penthouse Suite
Out on the balcony, Paul suggests that he and Naomi take a trip to Thredbo to go skiing, but Naomi is still stewing over the accident. Paul reassures her that media coverage is dying down, but Naomi continues to worry.
NAOMI: Toadie has a serious spinal injury, and nobody knows if he will fully recover. And all you do is stand there and gloat about how I'm going to get off scot-free.
PAUL: Hey, nobody is gloating.
NAOMI: I deserve to be punished, okay? It is my fault that that happened.
PAUL: Yeah, and just how is that going to help anyone? I mean is it going to help Toadie get on his feet any faster, no it's not. He knows that punitive action is both futile and unnecessary.
Naomi storms off without a word.
Toadie's Hospital room
Toadie is at work on his laptop and Sonya returns to visit. He wants to know why she didn't tell him about the leak in the bathroom (thanks to Angie's big mouth), and she insists that she didn't want to give him any more stress.
SONYA: What are you doing?
TOADIE: Looking after my family. I'm suing Naomi.
SONYA: Do you mean that you're filing a claim with your insurance company?
TOADIE: Nope.
SONYA: No, so you're making it personal are you?
Toadie explains that Naomi's insurance will be void once they hear about her breach of contract with the jumping castle company. Despite Sonya's protests, he insists that Naomi will be able to find the money through Paul, and that he's perfectly entitled to compensation for her negligence.
SONYA: All of this, this is why I didn't want Angie to tell you!
TOADIE: Well why didn't you tell me?
SONYA: Because I want you to focus on your rehabilitation!
TOADIE: I can focus on both! I am going to look after my family, and if this is the only way I can do it, then too bad!

Karl and Ben are jamming on their guitars, whilst Lauren and Susan are picking out recipes for a benefit for Toadie. Susan reminds Ben not to be late for school.
KARL: We'll have a bit of a jam when we get back, yeah?
SUSAN: Don't feel as though you have to cut your time with your friends short though.
KARL: Well don't feel as though you have to extend it either!
SUSAN: Karl!
Lauren says she'll fetch the ingredients, and Susan reminds her to keep the benefit a secret from Toadie. Karl suggests that he and Ben should make their musical partnership official and perform at the benefit. Susan tries to help Ben talk his way out of it, but Karl already has a band name: KČ (Kennedy and Kirk). Susan and Ben look horrified!
Toadie's Hospital room
Sonya finds Toadie still working on the law suit whilst he hasn't touched his lunch, and worries that he's already prioritising the legal action over his health. She warns him that Paul and Tim Collins will fight to the death to win, but that doesn't deter Toadie at all.
SONYA: Can you just stop and think about this, for a few days, please!
TOADIE: Nope, too late. I've just sent the letter of intention.
Lassiter's Complex
Daniel checks in with Paul, but they're conversation is interrupted by Naomi who breaks the news that Toadie is suing her for negligence. Paul is already spoiling for a fight and Daniel jumps to her defence, but she insists she has to handle it alone.
Erinsborough Day Car Centre
Paul hounds Sonya through the carpark, but Sonya defends Toadie's actions and reminds him that the Rebecchi family don't exactly count Naomi as a friend.
PAUL: So this is payback is it?
SONYA: It wasn't my idea to sue, but if this is the course of action that Jarrod wants to take then I will back him 110%.
Amber tells Sonya that Nell's had a good first day, but Angie has already picked her up. Amber tries to explain that Angie was on the list of approved carers but Sonya insists she never allowed it and storms off.
Toadie's Hospital room
Toadie is struggling to open his bedside drawer when Naomi visits with some chocolates and a card to talk calmly with Toadie.
NAOMI: I want to take full responsibility for what happened. I promise you Toadie, I will do everything I can to help both you and Sonya, but it really need to be this ugly? I mean there's got to be some other way we can figure this out.
TOADIE: I don't believe there is.
NAOMI: It's just my professional reputation will be ruined, I won't survive.
TOADIE: My whole life, my whole future is up in the air right now. Listen, I appreciate you coming in here saying that you want to help, but I don't know how you're going to do that. How are you going to save my family without money, and a lot of it?
NAOMI: There's got to be some way I can make amends?
TOADIE: I'm staring down the barrel at the rest of my life in a wheelchair! How are you going to make up for that? How many casseroles do you think you can drop off on our doorstep before you think that your debt is paid? Did you think you could just walk in here and say sorry, and Mr Nice Guy would just say, 'that's okay'?
NAOMI: No, no, that's not what I want.
TOADIE: Good. And thanks for saying you were at fault, because that's going to make things a whole lot easier and cleaner in court.
Naomi tries to apologise but Toadie barks for her to get out.
No. 30
Sonya comes home and berates Angie for picking up Nell without telling her. She says that Angie's robbed her of picking up her child on her first day of child care, but Angie remarks that Nell is being dumped there five days a week anyway.
ANGIE: I never put my kids in childcare, I looked after them meself!
SONYA: Well considering Jarrod spent most of his teenage years at the Kennedys, I'm not entirely sure that's true!
Angie tries to diffuse the fight, but Sonya spells out aggressively that she is to never pick up Nell again. She retorts that Sonya can do everything herself in that case, and storms out.
Toadie's Hospital room
Toadie is lifting weights as Karl stops by for a visit. Toadie dismisses the chocolates and card from Naomi, but Karl informs him that she's visited every day since the accident and ensured that Toadie gets the very best care possible and asks for constant updates. Toadie rereads the card with this new information in mind.
NAOMI: (voiceover) Dear Toadie, you are one of the best, most decent people I've ever met, and I wish you weren't going through this hell. You have all my support, and whatever else is needed. I care about you, I always have. Naomi.
No. 28
Ben checks with Susan if Karl was being serious about the band, and she reassures him that Karl will probably forget about it. Right on cue, Karl enters with matching grey T-shirts with KČ on the front! He suggests they get more printed to sell at their first gig at a nursing home! Ben looks astounded and reluctantly goes to try on the T-shirt.
Toadie's Hospital room
Angie plumps Toadie's pillows and tells him she's going home, and Sonya gives her a cold goodbye. Toadie quizzes Sonya on what happened, so she explains their argument. She also says she believes suing Naomi is the right thing to do - whereas Toadie has changed his mind as well, although he still doesn't know how they'll manage without the money.
SONYA: I just think that if we focus on you getting better then we'll just look back and we'll think how did we get through it. But really the most important thing is that we did.
Lassiter's Lake
Naomi is contemplating on the Bench of Contemplation™ when Paul breaks the good news that the law suit has been dropped. Paul is eager to celebrate in lavish style, but Naomi insists that she still wants to take responsibility.
NAOMI: From now on, I have to do whatever it takes to help Toadie. If that means dedicating my whole life to making sure he is okay, then that's what I need to do.
PAUL: And that's all this is about, just your guilt? I mean, there's nothing going on here?
NAOMI: What?
PAUL: Dedicating you whole life to somebody, that's a pretty big commitment.
NAOMI: Well under the circumstances, I think it's pretty appropriate.
PAUL: You're not still in love with Jarrod are you?
Naomi hesitates, and doesn't respond...
