Number 30
Amy tells Sonya about the plans she is making for the house to make it wheelchair friendly. Sonya is appreciative of the effort Amy is putting in as she's finding things though going.
SONYA: I think I've entered another dimension.
AMY: Sounds like a black hole to me!
Amy volunteers to pay more rent now she's paid off her ex's debts but Sonya turns the offer down. Sonya then takes a call from the insurance company and from the look on her face it's not good news.
Hospital
Karl gives Toadie the good news that since his condition hasn't deteriorated; they will soon be looking at rehab options. He refuses though to give Sonya a timescale on when he's likely to get home/when improvement is likely however does say if all goes well, Toadie will be in a wheelchair in 1-2 weeks.
After Karl leaves, Toadie asks how the insurance claim is going and Sonya breaks the news of the conversation she had with them - because their card was cancelled due to the fraudulent activity, she forgot to update their direct debit details so their premiums haven't been paid. "So we're not covered," he says aloud and Sonya can't but stop apologising and when he says just give them a call, she tells him she's already done that and they aren't budging. Toad tries to reassure her they can cope but she isn't sure for how long they can keep doing that. Tearfully (after apologising again) she leaves as she's a delivery at the nursery to attend to.
Off Air (exterior)
Imogen tells Daniel as he's clearing tables that Toadie just called wanting her to bring some files to him in the hospital. She too can't but help apologise to Daniel for her parent's behaviour and that she plans on sorting them out however Daniel thinks she shouldn't be doing that.
Number 22
Josh can't concentrate on doing the dance routine Aaron is trying to put together so tells him about the latest pickle he's got himself into - knowing about Brad/Lauren from Amber who didn't know it was him she told and the talk he then had with his mum.
JOSH: Oh man, pretending to be someone else sucks!
The Waterhole
Nate isn't too impressed at hearing the conversation Paul was having (wanting to be photographed at the school with a teenage mum rather than Brad!) but after hanging up, Paul explains to him it's to show he is a caring mayor!
Terese stomps into the bar and asks Nate for a glass of red wine. He reminds her that she's supposed to be staying sober (he's sponsoring her) but Paul interjects to say that Terese can pay $25 to break the abstinence for one night and that he's buying... and hands her over a $100 note.
(Later)
Paul asks how the wine is as Terese sits staring into space. She comments "its about $95 overpriced but it's taken the edge off," and after he joins her, tells him about the lecture Josh gave about how she's been treating Brad and if she keeps it up he'll go elsewhere.
PAUL: Meaning Lauren?
TERESE: That's what I immediately thought.
Terese admits it's tense between her/Brad and that they are fighting about everything.
TERESE: Maybe I am pushing him away, if not into Lauren's arms then some other woman.
Paul is surprised when Terese asks him for advice given the number of times he's divorced! Knowing his experience, she asks if she is a bad wife and he jokes that he's not been married to her!
PAUL: From what I can tell, you've been a wonderful wife.
TERESE: Really?!
PAUL: You've always supported Brad both emotionally and financially. You put up with his career changes, his love children, his ex-girlfriends. I mean most women would have cut and run but not you.
After that spiel from Paul, Terese is now confused why Josh said what he did but Paul points out that ultimately it's only the people in the relationship whose opinions count and gives into her request not to go to the rehearsal but to stay and chat more.
Hospital
Imogen brings Toadie up to speed on the work she's done and when things need to be actioned by him. He then breaks it to her that due to cash flow problems, she might not be guaranteed her job for a bit.
The Waterhole
Terese laments to Paul that things, while not perfect, used to be so easy between her/Brad and thanks him for not running her husband into the ground like he normally does. "You're welcome," he replies before saying he needs to head off for the interhouse competition. Terese then contemplates going with him, to show support to Brad but Paul thinks Brad will be too busy running things and suggests she goes home and makes up with Brad when he gets home.
Eden University
The school have taken over the outdoor Uni area for their competition and Brad tells the kids to get ready. Karl arrives with a flask of hot tea (for Susan) just as Brad then gets a text from Lauren asking to yell if he needs any hot drinks. Brad tells Karl about the text adding that there is nothing from his wife and says to him that things "could be better" when he asks how things are going following their previous chat. Paul arrives for the photo-op but refuses to say exactly what delayed him.
Hospital
Sonya isn't too impressed to discover Toadie working (he's reading some document) when she arrives back into his room. Despite Toadie's protestations, she hauls the document off him because she doesn't think that will help the swelling in his back. The pair of them start having a domestic just as a visitor arrives - Angie!
ANGIE: Looks like I arrived in the nick of time! Good thing I didn't take you seriously! Fighting like a couple of kill kitty cats you were.
Harold's Store
Daniel isn't too impressed to discover that Imogen hasn't told him about being let go from Toadie's as she sits in the store going through the files to do a handover. She explains that after their fight (about her parents) she didn't feel like telling him. Daniel didn't think that was a fight but admits that he likes that side of Imogen (standing up for herself) and points out that friction creates electricity which then creates kissing!
Hospital
Despite Toadie protesting he isn't, Angie sets put on cleaning her son up as she thinks that he's grubby. She then tempts him into some of her cooking (a bacon and peanut butter toasted sandwich) in preference to the insubstantial food Sonya has brought in. When Sonya too protests she can look after her own husband, Angie quickly agrees with her but thinks that she's already got her hands full so is just lending a hand.
Angie has also brought back the slankie she got for Mother's Day and remarks that its more practical than the "perverted excuse for a nightie you sent me by mistake!"
The Waterhole
Imogen/Daniel arrive to rope Josh, Aaron and Nate into helping organise a benefit concert for the Rebecchi's to help them. Josh is up for it but the conversation gets side-tracked when Imogen asks about the new phone Josh has but Aaron is quick to say it's for their dancing. Happy with the answer, the duo depart and Josh thanks Aaron for stepping in and says he is going to come clean to Amber but not sure when.
Number 30
Sonya introduces Amy to Angie and that she is going to be staying, "for as long as my boy needs me," Angie informs them. Angie spots the drawings Amy is (still) doing and Sonya explains it's to accommodate Jarrod's wheelchair. Information of a wheelchair is news to Angie, as Toadie told her he'd be okay, and Sonya explains they didn't tell her the full truth, that the injuries are worse than they'd said. "What do you mean?" Angie nervously asks and Sonya explains that they won't know until the swelling goes down but that it will be a long recovery so they want to be prepared.
Now informed, Angie wants to get involved in the planning but first she wants to see Nell, ignoring Sonya telling her not to disturb her (she's sleeping), in her haste to get to the bedroom.
AMY: She's um... friendly!
SONYA: Well that's one word for it!
Number 22
With a glass of wine to a help her, Terese makes over the sun room to make it romantic (there's roses, romantic music [Where would be be?] and lit candles) but then suddenly stops when she sees Brad's carving in the wheelie bin and gets out her phone and calls for a taxi.
Eden University
Paul does his intro speech before he makes way for Brad to get the night properly going by introducing the first student. However just as he's done that, Terese has arrived but due to her inebriated state, walks straight into some music stands. Brad comes rushing down to check she's okay and signals for the student to begin while he takes his wife aside to ask why she is there. "To see you," is her reply and when he asks if she's been drinking, replies "barely," although he thinks otherwise given what just happened. "It was just one glass," she protests. Just like Nate, Brad reminds her she is supposed to be alcohol free and suggests to her that she should go home.
TERESE: I came all this way to see you.
BRAD: Please alright, just go home.
TERESE: But... I...I came to apologise and to support you and what you're going to just throw it back in my face?!
BRAD: ...
TERESE: Yeah well, you know, well stuff you! STUFF YOU AND I'M SORRY I'M SUCH AN EMBARRASSMENT.
Due to the volume Terese was shouting at, it's now gone awfully quiet as the lassie has stopped playing and everyone tries to suddenly look elsewhere but at Brad/Terese.
